Bob, What I hate about VLOG's is the "HEY!! Look at me!!" narcissistic attitude most vloggers have. And you have manage to sidestep that entirely. Very awesome video, you hit it out of the park!! Keep it up Bob!!
This is great Bob. I love the pace of it and I can totally relate to spending a whole day doing stuff just to get into the shop for a couple hours. As my Sculpture professor used to say, "You can't just make sculpture. Every once in a while you have to wash your clothes." I look forward to more of these
Presenting to such a "DIY" community has an advantage... We all understand that new projects/ventures don't start out as perfect and polished as we want them to, and we're happy to come along for the ride. That being said, this was an excellent debut of the "one day doc." Thanks for the interesting Q&A; looking forward to more from your *media company*
Being conscious of narcissism, is very admirable, but ILTMS is your brand one worth touting and flaunting for the sake of those of us watching and consuming your contenet. We appreciate all that you do with sharing content and knowledge. Keep up the great work.
These are gonna be awesome! Love how raw the format seems to be! Brain pick is awesome too. I prefer the podcast version just cause it doesn't really need to be video, but I like it either way
Great to watch, thank you for sharing this personal side of ILTMS with us! You're an inspiration to me and a source of entertainment and enjoyment for my family and I. :)
That was really cool. I liked your format for answering questions and congrats on going full time! That space looked really really cool. Very inspiring video for a new youtuber trying to balance the quality of the content vs. the quantity of videos posted. I've been getting caught up too much in the planning process as well. Anyway, big fan of yours!
Hey Bob, great job on the vlog. I like the format. Echoing Peter Brown, the relaxed feel lends itself to wanting to watch. As far as Brain Pick goes, I always liked it. Your brought the content creators we watch into a similar relaxed atmosphere, we got insight into these people's lives. How they started, etc. My vote is to keep doing them. Looking forward to whatever is next from you, keep up the good work! -Paul
My advice for subscribers, and Im not sure I should even say anything cause Im only at 2K, but I have noticed that participating in contests, hangouts, challenges and other similar activities produce a great amount of subscribers! Great Vlog Bob! And thanks for everything you do!!
Hi, I do like this one day doc concept. I think it's also important for us to see what's behind, I mean all those little steps and things that allows you to bring us those great videos and projetcs. You were speaking of media company I think that's right. I'm french (and please excuse my bad english) and even with the distance you're inspiring me so please keep going !
Very cool laid back informative format. Would be nice to see more if you choose on a sporadic basis. I could see this type of vlog format being a type of soundboard to bounce ideas or bust through a "Makers Block" should one arise. Have fun with it!
Bob - great vlog. I truly loved listening to your humble, honest, and very personal perspective on the topics your viewers asked. Keep up the great work!
I really enjoyed this vid. Seing you talking spontaneously was enjoyable. You should so that quite often. Being a dad and finding time to do stuffs is hard. And if you have advices i Will take ! Can't wait for the next vlog.
One of these videos a week would be sweet, it's nice to see a different side of you and your journey with "content" "job" and family! My kids enjoy watching together because we are cable free, over two years! We UA-cam, Netflix and Amazon all our media.
8:00 if you ever feel narcissistic, this is the point where it shows you so aren't. I think you have the subscribers because you make awesome content and having people share is a great positive. Great video, keep it up Bob!
Hey man, I see you have a few different 3D printer rigs, can you recommend your favorite. Also, any tips on finding maker spaces in other areas? How did you find out about the one near you?
I'm fairly new to 3d printing actually so I don't think I'm qualified to suggest on yet, but my Form One+ is pretty amazing (and expensive) I've heard that the Ultimakers are really good quality as well. For maker spaces, I think just googling your area. There's not a good directory for makers paces that I know of.
Great VLOG, Please keep it going. BTW what you were doing WAS WORK. I really enjoy your honesty and genuine manners that come through in all your different forms of media, thank you, definitely someone to look up to, and for up and comets to take note of your persona. Cheers from Australia
Troy Kloszynski Thank you so much! You're totally right.. it was my work for the day. I guess I hadn't realized that because it's a new type of "work" for me.
I'm a big fan of BrainPick (I listen to the audio via Stitcher) personally. And also the Making It podcast - great stuff. I like the inside look into these creators' lives and personalities. It made me an even bigger fan of these UA-cam personalities that I already liked anyway.
Well done, Bob ! most of what all y'all are doing is pioneering in some way, so might as well wing it and see if people / you like it. This one is fine, although i'm not used to see your face so close-up and your eyebrows bouncing around so much, but heck, that's sort of endearing. Bottom line is I generally reaaly enjoy ILTMS content. Gets me inspired, to make stuff, attack projects, and soon do some proper videos. Keep on trucking !
Great video bob! With the maker spaces how do you find and how do you start a maker space because I live in phoenix az and I can't find anything your one of my favorite makers
Great job bob, brain pick is brilliant don't stop making that. And your blog does have a similar style to Casey N, but who cares it would be great if everyone made their vlog like Casey the style in brilliant. I don't think any of your fans mind, in fact anyone that's a fan of Casey and of yours probably really likes that the visual style is similar.
Great vlog, incredible image/light quality in the parc. For brainpick: like your ability to do interviews and not only to talk yourself / about yourself. No idea how to get a value for your business out of it. I would even listen to sponsored interviews, kind you present a company philosophy by interviewing a boss or a chief developer? Hearing more about being the scenes from Grrripr, Audible, Kreg and all the other tools we love would be great and maybe a value for all parties involved.
Hey Bob, I was just at Forsyth Park smocking the other day. Such a pretty place. Great video and information. Totally can relate on the self promoting thing.
I enjoyed this one Bob. Loose and liquid format. Perfect for a Vlog right? Were they cicada's making the noise? I'm not a big enthusiast or anything, but Cicada's are fascinating!
So I didn't even get to the end of watching this video before I clicked on "Like". The crazy thing is I can't tell you WHY I liked it. It was interesting but I think just from a stand point of the author trying to figure things out by using UA-cam as a sounding board. I was reminded of Rodin's "The Thinker"
awesome, cool music and I like brain pick as it turned me on to new creators that I didn't know and hear what they do. Similar to Drunkenwood wk wrap up.
I enjoyed BrainPick, and seems like a lot of other people did too. Isn't that the value? Or perhaps you mean what value it adds to you (sponsors, views, etc.)? Only you can answer the second question, but the first question is answered by your viewership. Hope you continue it.
Marty Backe Yes, I definitely meant the value that it brings to the viewers, and it sounds like there is a value there whether I've recognized it or not! It's great to be able to get feedback like that.
My opinion on Brain Pick. I only watched 2 episodes. I'm more interested in the projects and problem solving involved. But if enough people want Brain Pick keep doing it.
I Like To Make Stuff Also, Brainpick was great. It did fit a niche of getting to know the personality "behind" the YT persona. Steve Ramsey was much more seriouser than I imagined (hey, why not), The Wood Whisperer came across as a particularly deep guy (i liked), Matt Cremona was unsurprisingly charming, and Frank Howarth's live contribution was just another awesome interesting chunk of his fantastic and peculiar body of work. Have not been watching all the others (sorry, time) but I thought it certainly felt like it served a purpose. This being said... maybe the formula could still be improved ! Keep on trucking amigo !
Really good job on your first vlog. I enjoyed it. Too short, in my opinion. But I'll still watch them. The "narcissism" is something that I battle with on a daily basis. Good tips on overcoming it. I feel if I have nothing to teach or inspire someone else to make, then I won't shoot a video on it. Or if it's not important or valuable to share with others. But of course that's often very difficult to gauge. I have to do a better job of planning. It's often not until I'm halfway into a project that filming it comes into my mind.
the side note about meeting the guys starting a maker space perked my intrest. Any suggestions on where I could find more information on starting a maker space in my town. Nothing like that here and It might be a good retirement project for me. I especially need help on the business end.
Dude. I envy you. It's hard to make that jump for this to be full time. Especially when you have a family. I actually live in downtown Savannah, so it's good to see a local maker/woodworker.
Scott Hall Don't envy me, join me!! :) You can do it! That's awesome that you're in Savannah, we should catch up sometime! Make sure to check out the makerspace I was talking about too, it'll be over on Boundry St on the west side of downtown. www.mavenmakers.com
Steroumel Thanks very much! I'm afraid that would take up way too much of my time, and my day to day probably isn't that interesting. I'm going to try to make these when there's a good story or event to cover, but not to over do it.
Good stuff Bob, new camera footage looks great. Both of our cars just went through the shop, so you have fun with that!
Love this! Great job
jimmydiresta Thanks dude!
I Like To Make Stuff Great job indeed!
Bob, What I hate about VLOG's is the "HEY!! Look at me!!" narcissistic attitude most vloggers have. And you have manage to sidestep that entirely. Very awesome video, you hit it out of the park!! Keep it up Bob!!
Josh Herzberger Wow, thank you Josh! I really appreciate that :)
Dude, you nailed this.
Ñoño o km t
Cool! It's nice to see you in a more relaxed and less scripted mode. I dig it.
This is great Bob. I love the pace of it and I can totally relate to spending a whole day doing stuff just to get into the shop for a couple hours. As my Sculpture professor used to say, "You can't just make sculpture. Every once in a while you have to wash your clothes."

Great to watch, thank you for sharing this personal side of ILTMS with us! You're an inspiration to me and a source of entertainment and enjoyment for my family and I. :)
I like the format of this not-a-vlog. the park is a nice change of scenery.
Thanks for doing this, Bob. It really feels like we get to know you better when you do this more "personal" stuff.
Nice video! a/c repair video coming up???
Honest, real, and no ego involved. Great work Bob.
This is my favorite video you've done so far! It's great to hear plain talk about what a modern maker lifestyle looks like, very cool.
That was really cool. I liked your format for answering questions and congrats on going full time! That space looked really really cool. Great stuff man, hope you keep doing them.
Love your videos, it's inspired me to build my own things! Keep doing what your doing.
Great stuff my friend.
My advice for subscribers, and Im not sure I should even say anything cause Im only at 2K, but I have noticed that participating in contests, hangouts, challenges and other similar activities produce a great amount of subscribers!
Great Vlog Bob! And thanks for everything you do!!
Oh, totally forgot about complementing you on this new format. A definite keeper! Well done vlog.

You were speaking of media company I think that's right. I'm french (and please excuse my bad english) and even with the distance you're inspiring me so please keep going !
Great job, great content and it looks awesome
love it! maybe a tour of tour studio could be an idea for a vlog
This was awesome! Great job
Good start on the vlog. Good questions too.
Don't stop doing these, very interesting
Absolutely love this. Please continue. :)
That was great! Thanks for answering my question. I feel the same way and that is part of what is holding me back.
Good luck on the AC.
***** Thanks Marc!!
This is why you have a following...I like this and pretty cool you getting involved
Awesome, I like the new thing - Very well done.
Very cool laid back informative format. Would be nice to see more if you choose on a sporadic basis. I could see this type of vlog format being a type of soundboard to bounce ideas or bust through a "Makers Block" should one arise. Have fun with it!
Great job Bob!
Appreciation from my side. Looking forward!
Great idea !! Really cool
Great addition to chanel !!
faktor Thanks!
Great video Bob, lots of good info!
Bob - great vlog. I truly loved listening to your humble, honest, and very personal perspective on the topics your viewers asked. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Michael!
My friend, you are a rockstar and unstoppable. Keep on.
This was really good! Definitely would like to see more of these.
Really like the Q&A videos!
Powerful Neistat vibe, fits the format well. I meant to request a periodic Q&A and here it is!
A video on how you went to making this full time would be amazing! Love your content-keep up the good work
Great vid! Love the music too, especially during the ONE DAY DOC on the screen! Keep you the good work Bob!
Brian Skitch Thanks! (I really like that bit of music too ;)
I really enjoyed this vid. Seing you talking spontaneously was enjoyable.
You should so that quite often.
Being a dad and finding time to do stuffs is hard. And if you have advices i Will take !
Can't wait for the next vlog.
Lamialle Gerald I really appreciate that, thanks!

man best DIY chanel ever!!!!
I like the mini documentary concept. More about the process /journey is nice. Just keep on truckin' making more of these.
Loved this Bob, keep it up. Greetings from Australia!
Adam Burke Thanks Adam!!
Very informative Mat. enjoyed the show.
Good stuff Bob, your kids are adorable haha. :) Don't feel weird about it, the video was great brother!
Really enjoyed this. Very informative as to how you spend your time. Great shot of the fountain at Forsyth Park. Been there many times.
Donnie G Thanks! Are you local to Savannah?
I Like To Make Stuff No. Live in upstate SC. Come down quite often to the historical district.
just becuase you are bussy doesn't mean you are being productive. I have that issue too sometimes with planning
YES! more please.
Best type of vlog anyone is doing!! Well done Bob, hope you do more.
Ryan
Thanks Ryan!

Bob, really good video. I believe I recognize the back ground in your video.
Yep, just checked your wedsite....SCAD, thought I knew the back ground.

Can you show us how to make a modern looking desk? (7feet long)

I love Savannah. One of my favorite places to visit.
Hey Bob, I was just at Forsyth Park smocking the other day. Such a pretty place. Great video and information. Totally can relate on the self promoting thing.
I wish there was a makerspace in my town. I would be there frequently.

Were they cicada's making the noise? I'm not a big enthusiast or anything, but Cicada's are fascinating!
Glen H Thanks! I assume they were cicadas, not sure. I had to doctor the audio a fair amount to get rid of it partially.. it was SUPER loud.
awwww I miss y'all so much!!!

In Columbus, Ohio we have the Columbus Idea Foundry, a 60,000 sq ft Makerspace. A great environment for makers of all kinds. Love all your content
Wow, that's huge! Now I need to find a reason to come visit Columbus!
I love Savannah!
love this.
Also love Brainpick so...
Love this.
You got it right...just go. Talk and we'll listen! Keep it up.

Mike Hitchcock I don't really have any experience with it personally. so I'm not really sure :/
Can you do a video on how to make a bird house please?
Dude. I envy you. It's hard to make that jump for this to be full time. Especially when you have a family. I actually live in downtown Savannah, so it's good to see a local maker/woodworker.

love your brain pick
Like what you did there. Seems exactly what it would be like if I worked from home...
Like it!!
is this a daily thing from now on?
joshua howe No, that would take away too much time from projects. Probably just occasional episodes.. I haven't figured that out yet.
Please upload daily vlogs!! You're very good at it! ;)
Steroumel Thanks very much! I'm afraid that would take up way too much of my time, and my day to day probably isn't that interesting. I'm going to try to make these when there's a good story or event to cover, but not to over do it.
Well, that's better than nothing! Greetings from Greece!!
sweet powerglove
you are an inspiration.. keep it up..
p.s- this is my first comment on youtube :)
burhan ud din khateeb Thank you!!!
Can I just say that I am proud to have met you. Nuff Said.
