Love my 2017 RoadGlide Ultra. Wife and I took it to Sturgis last year from So. Cal. and we're fine with the suspension. I added the GT-S radio, heated grips and TourPak relocate kit to push the TourPak back and give us more room. I really enjoy the room in the rider's compartment versus the 2015 Ultra Limited I had prior. Such a great bike and I thoroughly recommend it. Great video!
Ryan, I love your set up and it’s how my 20 RGS is set up. I am stretched and low, but my scoot still produced a digital reading of 112MPH. It felt wonderful as the bike plane-out. I’d love to drop six grand on suspension and a stage two or just upgrade to one of the ST‘s but I love how my RGS is low and long. I am vivid black with kahuna heated grips, Tour pack, front pegs and adjustable rider backrest. I run stock pipes
Thanks for the review. I was at the dealership on Saturday. They have a 22 Roadglide CVO ULTRA, in Orange which is gorgeous. Can't stop thinking about it. But between the factory mark up, paint mark up, and dealership mark up, it's nearly $60,000. 🤑🙄😬 That's a big 💊 to swallow 😳
Cheaper to buy a plane ticket and ride your bike home from a good dealership. If the prices aren’t listed on the dealership website, keep lookin elsewhere.
@@BoDean52 I got the 2 tone Charcoal Metallic and Black, with chrome. Live in Phoenix, but the dealership had to go all the way to Texas to find this color. So worth the wait.
My 2021 RoadGlide Special rode like a dump truck out the door. My wife was not comfortable until I put Legend Revo A shocks on the rear. Now she loves the ride. Going soon to have my HD Sundowner seat customized for better comfort soon.
That’s great and we’ve always been a fan of our Mustang seat and her good things about the sundowner as well. The legends that you have are in my plan as well and I look forward to feeling the difference that everybody says will happen. Ride Safe
I have a 21 roadglide limited , I'm at 4000 miles right now I got it in Nov. I test rode it at a demo and went with it. Only thing I have done are the highway pegs, heel shifter, and a fueling dipstick. Running k&N air filter and oil filter. Amsoil all the way around. Don't really need much more right now, it's super smooth. Love the 114 motor. Love the android auto feature . my 17 ultra limited didn't have that. The cable clutch has grown on me and I actually like it alot now. My wife says I can manage this one easier, but I think experience is part of that too.
Got my 21 limited in late July, 10,000 miles on it now. Only thing I really changed is the bars. Stereo sucks. Apple car play should work without having to buy a $20 Amazon hack. As far as storage, if it doesn’t fit in the bags, it can’t go. Nowhere to bungee stuff like my softail. Highway pegs are a must have. Beautiful motorcycle, super comfortable. Lots of times I just grab my shifter with my hand and pull it into neutral, trick I learned from my one-legged friend. Great bike, great review. Loving my bagger.
Mine is a '16 RG Ultra. Love it. Suspension could be better but running the correct air pressure in the shocks does make a difference. I"m 260 and running pressure up to 40psi eliminated bottoming, except for big bumps, and really smoothed out the ride. Forks are ok. The previous owner did put a full Rush exhaust, V&H FP-3 and Arlen Ness Big Sucker on it and it runs great. Biggest challenge? Finding a jack I'm comfortable with for a 900+ lb bike so I can change tires and oil. Biggest con? The display needs a sun shield. If the sun is at your back the screen can't be seen. I'll mock up a hood for it then have it 3-D printed.
I tried it (and im not the same rider) Coming from multiple bikes RK RG SG over the years, why I didn't tried this one before? That i dont know, my regrets! This bike is a masterpiece machinery at high speed solid, at long distance comfortable, at wet pavements heavy, at low speed no problem, such a presence when you arrived, nothing like the RG limited. Agreed 100% once you test ride it, you wont be the same.
Well done review brotha!! Certainly the Street Glide and Road Glide are similar except for the different fairings. I myself don’t care for the look of the “Shark nose”, but that’s me. My son being a HD Master Tech has of course ridden all the HD bikes and has told me the Road Glide does handle a bit better at highway speeds. He too is more a”Batwing” fan as well. One day I’ll test ride one.
I upgraded the system on my 15 RG with the Harley amp and 4 stage 2 speakers. Lots of volume but it still wasn't great on windy days on the highway. Sure I could crank it way up but even with the amp it would get distorted and I would get a headache from the volume. With my 20 SG I added with whim module and find it much better paired to my Harley/Sena 30K headsets with upgraded speakers. I no longer need to use high volumes to overcome wind noise on the highway. Nice clear sound as well as total integration of stereo/phone/nav/intercom. It took a while to get it all set up just perfect but the time spent setting it all up was worth it. The suspension that comes on the RG Ultra or the Ultra/Ultra Limited is much better than what comes on a SG or RG. That extra inch of travel makes a big difference. As with you I wouldn't have spent money on shocks if I had one but on my previous RG and current SG the short travel stock shocks had to go.
Thanks Doug and great info. I just refuse to get the WHIM because I think Harley should include it, not make me bypass it. Since I usually use my Sena for sounds, not a huge deal but can see where yours works better
@@BoDean52 I agree, it should be included for what these cost on all the bikes. The part that pissed me off was having to buy the Harley branded headsets to get stereo sound when I already had Sena headsets. I ended up selling my old Sena 20S headsets.
Nice 5000 mile review. 👍Yes they are great bikes. HAHA, I was going to do a 5k review on mine also, here soon. I need to get bike prepped for the riding season first.
Good luck in the search, I think you will love it. Be careful though once you take it for a ride you’ll want it. Ride safe and let me know how you end up
Have a 2018 FLTRU with 74,000kms on it. The best upgrade I put on it was the Suspension and wish I had done it first, I put on Legend Axeo's on the front and Legend Revo's on the back...unbelievable, also put on the back filler lights for added safety, 12 inch Dominator Meathooks, stage 2 with power cam, tallboy seat. It's a great ride. What I don't like is the angle of the screen and how it catches the sun when its behind you, the glare is very annoying and a screen didn't help much, that's pretty much my only complaint. It handles the twisties very well and scrapping the footboards is exciting.
Great review! Some great roads for a 5k review, kinda reminds me to some of the NJ backroads I ride around here. I did a test ride of a similar bike to this and loved it. 🤙
Overall a solid review man. I’m sure some day I’ll be here but really thinking the next step for me is the RK and then one of these when I can seriously put down the miles.
Good review, Road Glides are awesome. Even the speakers on my 2016 weren't the greatest, I wish HD would upgrade the stock speakers on these bikes because they need it. I also wish my Goldwing had the HD GPS, it's what I miss the most from my RGU.
I've got the hearing that comes with years as a loud music enthusiast. I can't hear them past 50mph and really I feel like a tool sharing my music with the world. I wish there was a stereo delete option with GPS only on these touring bikes.
🛑🛑 Hi Bob… I think a nice upgrade for your bike would be installing a Harley Davidson Garage Door Opener. 😀👍 The unit is under $150, and just flipping the High Beam Switch (Up and Down) to Open and Close the Door is very convenient. 😀👍 Just Food For Thought 🧐. @@BoDean52 Agreed… It was a learning curve when coming from my Roadking to the Ultra, when it comes to “low speed” maneuvering, especially with the 950 pound Curb Weight of the bike; and the weight of passengers and myself.
Would rather have heard the engine instead of the music while rolling the curves. Not a skull fan but really like your mirrors. Good video nice review. The shark nose is growing on me.
Good review Bob ... NO HEEL SHIFTER ???... 1 KEY FOB ??? Sorry Dealership... Down here, thats how they come... BUT If you want them they will install and give them to you
You didn't mention your Mustang seat but I bought one based on your Review of the seat on another video . I love it and its been comfortable from day 1. Does your backrest kinda wobble when inserted? It stays in position while riding and is a must have. Thanks for producing great video's
Thanks Mark and agree I forgot to talk about at. It does wiggle a bit but is great when you ride. When I first got it I am like what the heck……never not have a Mustang now
Until u get a tailbone issues, everything is fine the way they look. I personally swap suspensions year round. In the winter time I put back the stock. Because winter abuses seals and metals. So I’d rather abuse the stock. But during spring through fall I use a Fox suspension that I bought for over 1k. That suspension is better than the stock. Beside my tailbone experience I have compared the recoil action and the Fox is better.
You know two months ago I purchased a brand new Street Glide. I kind of regret not going for a limited because....I'm adding heated grips, and I'm going to be getting a tour pack. I feel like I should have just went for the limited.
Great review… Too bad the radio hasn’t been improved on such an expensive bike. I had the same impression with my ‘09 Road Glide CVO, it was fine at 50 mph on back roads but useless at much over 60 mph. Not everyone has, or wants, a headset. Also that’s a heavy bike! If I ever let it fall over I’d had better be with a strong buddy to help lift it or I’m gonna be needing to call a tow truck!
I love the navigation on mine, but for music, I usually listen with the Bluetooth in my helmet off of my phone if I’m riding solo. The only time I ever use the bike’s stereo is when my wife and I are on a really long ride, and only after the batteries have run out in our Bluetooth comms. Until then, she and I are typically in constant conversation while we ride (maybe next time I’ll run the bike’s stereo while we chatter-away).
Enjoy your videos. Always informative. Just purchased a brand new 2022 RG Limited from a dealership that still had a couple. What a fantastic bike! Ride safe Brother. Much love from California!!
Nice review! I've often thought about different suspension but holding off for now. Like you said, it's not something I think it has to have but I do think it would improve the ride. Would be a big disappointment to spend all that money on suspension upgrades only to find it was a minimal improvement.
Thanks for the great review and overview of the bike. I still need to ride a Road Glide. I'm curious to see the difference between the shark nose vs batwing. I'm potentially interested in the ST or Special models. I don't need the tour pack as I have the quick detach version on my Street Glide Special. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe 👊👍🇺🇸
Great review and add-ons . Am considering this purchase over the RGS but not sure if want the extra baggage and weight for local cruising without the wifey . Is the Tourpack detachable ?
My bike is set up as it is not detachable but I can easily get one. I had the same idea on another bike and at the end of the day I just ended up leaving it on anyways. Good luck on your purchase and ride safe

I have the same taillight but in smoke on my grey 22 limited. Absolutely huge improvement and looks so much better. Also ran the signature series tour pack light from hd another amazing light upgrade for the rear. If you find a really nice set of fog lamps let us know bodean.
You have a sweet bike Mike! If you go to my playlists for Custom Dynamics, you can see the full bikes lighting. Changed everything except for the headlight. Ride safe
@@ProbablyStonedComments thank you and to answer your question, a whole bunch, had the 131 installed and am very pleased so far. Like Mr bodean there just trying to make it mine now. I like his mirrors but need them in black.
Love the video. Good to see you out on the road again. If you had a road glide special, your wife had her own bike and won’t 2up with ya, would you consider mounting a tour pack in the single rider position and using that tour pack pad as a backrest or do you think it would be too annoying mounting the bike with a pack where your leg normal slides over?
@Wyo Moto I’ve taken a couple long trips on my ‘21 RGL with a Saddlemen Dresser Back Seat Bag (one to the east coast and one to the west coast). While it’s nice to be able to carry so much stuff, I can tell you that it’s definitely not as comfortable as riding with a normal backrest. Yeah, it’s not the same as what you were describing, but I’d think it’d be similar. As far as mounting/dismounting goes, I found it not to be an issue at all.
Great review. I still ride a 2015 ultra limited. I have been wanting to ride one of the new RG’s. I am still no a fan of the 2 headlights and the shark nose, like the batwing better. I’ll never say never but I do want to ride one. Thanks for all the info.👍🏻🇺🇸
Felt the same way my friend, my issue is I road one so don’t do it if you don’t want a new bike 😂. I honestly test road it for 30 miles, went back to dealer and guys was laughing at me. He is like way different isn’t it, I am like yup and road it home. I still loved my Ultra but prefer this one now.
Why voltage? I can think of 1/2 dozen other values that would be more informative. My ultra has that as well, but I’ve always thought, head the path, oil temp, etc would have been a better choice.
Great video BoDean!!!...just curious...do you ride with ear plugs!?...we ride with ear plugs and with that wind noise cut out...we can hear our stock stereo no problem at 60+ mph!...we use headsets 99% of the time!...if you don't wear ear plugs...just take a rip with a set in...it does make a difference!😉👍...thanks for sharing...stay safe...ride safe!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Even when using the Sena...with the ear plugs in makes a huge difference...just not having the wind noise its amazing what you can actually hear with ear plugs in!..ride safe my friend!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
@@PinksAdventures I always ride with earplugs, with very rare exceptions being something like going a few blocks on city streets from a motel to a grocery store and back. Like you said, I can hear the headset/etc much better. When I first started riding, I didn’t wear them as religiously. One thing I’ve found is that, after a long ride, I find myself being a lot less fatigued. Plus, I’d generally like to preserve what hearing I have.
@@BoDean52 Thank you! I'm trying to save that much, but it's so hard not to just take what I have now and head down to the dealership. However, I believe patients will pay off.
You don't have to even think about an upgrade to an Indian suspension. I wish Harley would get with the program. $30,000K you'd think it would be premium already. Love the bikes, but not worth buying new. I'll buy the used ones with the upgrades done LOL. Looking at buying the 2022 reef blue and black.
@@bradlozano2571 The drivetrain is still stock. I *may* consider a stage 1 later if I do anything, but am undecided if I really want to. I’m very satisfied with the power/performance, even two-up with cargo. The headlight is still stock, but all the other lights (and then some) are Custom Dynamics.

That's a great idea, thanks for sharing!
You know two months ago I purchased a brand new Street Glide. I kind of regret not going for a limited because....I'm adding heated grips, and I'm going to be getting a tour pack. I feel like I should have just went for the limited.
Never a perfect bike and I think you’ll love the street glide. Ride safe
I would say that the radio is better but really just because of the GPS. Fortunately I listen mostly in an earpiece and yes it is a heavy bike
You just made my day and a huge congratulations. We have amazing Motorcycles, enjoy the ride.
Nice review! I've often thought about different suspension but holding off for now. Like you said, it's not something I think it has to have but I do think it would improve the ride. Would be a big disappointment to spend all that money on suspension upgrades only to find it was a minimal improvement.
I may pull the trigger soon so I will let you know! Hope you guys are well!
Appreciate that brother and I have always loved the SGS. If I didn't travel with the wife, I could see an ST. Ride safe!
Good stuff Bro.
Thanks man really appreciate that
These current road glides kick the living shit out of any other model it’s kind of wild.
Agree and love this bike. Ride safe
Almost traded for a RG a couple weeks ago but changed my mine. And I don't why but I have to turn my volume down halfway on your videos..
Hard to give up the ride you have. Not sure on the volume, no one has said that to me and it gets edited at one level. You listen with headphones? Ride safe
Ride safe
Congratulations on the new bike Mike. Cliché but, how many "smiles" you gettin to the gallon? 🤣
Great question….I probably would not but guess it would depends on the tour pack. Thanks and ride safe
@@just_another_Joe thanks I appreciate you taking the time for the response.
@@wyomoto1349 You’re welcome… my pleasure.
Great point Bill!
I pickup my new 2023 RGL next week!!
That’s huge! What color did you get? Congrats!
@@BoDean52 My wife isn’t keen on the two-tones and I prefer the chrome trim so I went with Vivid Black with chrome
Appreciate that and have never tried that but will. I do listen mostly through my Sena but open to ideas. Always appreciate you
Even when using the Sena...with the ear plugs in makes a huge difference...just not having the wind noise its amazing what you can actually hear with ear plugs in!..ride safe my friend!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
My biggest issue is I can no see my GPS on my Ultra unless I look down. Do you have that issue with the Roadglide?
I do not, your should get a Road Glide because of that for your safety
@@BoDean52 that you for your replay. I am grateful that your always looking out for my safety :-)
It doesn't look like the fairing vents can be closed. Are they wide open and blowing cold air all the time?
This is the first year as I understand that they can’t be closed. That said, due to the design, I do not feel the air
@@BoDean52
Thanks! I'm sure the aftermarket will come up with something if people want it.
I can't wait to get my hands on this. I'm saving up Is $14000 Is for a down payment.
Will be worth it and your being smart!
@@BoDean52 Thank you! I'm trying to save that much, but it's so hard not to just take what I have now and head down to the dealership. However, I believe patients will pay off.
I’m considering trading my 2012 Roadglide. Looking at 2022 Road glide limited! Worth it?
Other than the $$$$, heck yeah. I love my 2021
@@BoDean52 I’m almost there. Those stock bars have to go. If they can close a deal with higher bars I’m sold!
I luv my 20 rg limited...
they are awesome bikes!
Agree with you!
Like to see your 15K review on your Bike at the end of 2022...👍😎
Thanks Brad and hoping to get 10k on it and 3-4 on my Road King. Ride safe
@@BoDean52 Thanks Bro..You too👍😎
@@bradlozano2571 I just had my 15k service on my ‘21 RGL a little over a week ago. Still love it like the day I bought it last April!
@@just_another_Joe Are you keeping that 114 stock?
@@bradlozano2571 The drivetrain is still stock. I *may* consider a stage 1 later if I do anything, but am undecided if I really want to. I’m very satisfied with the power/performance, even two-up with cargo. The headlight is still stock, but all the other lights (and then some) are Custom Dynamics.
👍👍
👍🏍😎
U going to blessing of the bikes this year?
Yes since I have never been and I am close, when is it?
@@BoDean52 they haven't set a date yet.
So check this out I saved in CASH 19.500 dollars and sold a few things to make this happen over a 1 year period wanted a Road Glide Limited to go to Sturgis in 2023 that is if we are all still here. Tried two different Harley dealerships they would not finance me the rest been working the same place for 15 years yada yada. Not the best credit but not the worst either they kept trying to talk me into a cheaper bike. My plans were to go all over the US while I still can it's been something I have been wanting to do for years. But GUESS WHO would finance me Honda Yamaha Indian Kawasaki and even Suzuki! They said with that amount of money down I could get any bike I wanted. So thanks Harley Davidson for be assholes.
that stinks!
A T-Rex could never ride a Road Glide. He'd never be able to reach the Boom Box!
I never have too…..hand controls are easy to do
Agreed. I rarely touch my screen. Once you learn the hand-controls, it’s a breeze. Once I’m in motion, I do everything without taking my hands off the grips.
Cool bike. I don't use my infotainment system much. I like to put on the navigation and ride away from civilization. Point the triangle towards nothing. And try to get lost.
Agree getting lost with a full tank is a great day
Great review, I almost traded my 19 street glide for that bike. So glad I didn’t, I feel that these touring bikes are very similar. I ended up purchasing a tour pack and saved a lot of money. New Subscriber, please check out my channel thanks 🙏🏼
Welcome to the jungle and I will check out your channel for sure. I had a 16 SGS which I considered doing the same thing too. Ride safe!
