No matter how many times we tell ourselves that we’re not going to do a lot of customizing on our bikes we know it’s a lie when we say it. I know most people swear by Mustang seats but I just swore at mine. Ended up selling it on EBay and sent my stock Harley heated seat that I’d had on 2 previous bikes to Sick Saddles in Lakeland, FL to have it completely redone and I couldn’t be happier. On another subject I’ve taken your advice and started looking for an older Road King and may have found one. An Army buddy has a 2005 Road King in Phoenix and he’s making some noise about selling it and I’m going to be first in line. It has less than 10k miles on it and he only recently put new tires on it because the original tires were getting dry rot. 🤞🤞
I liked mine Bob, it was half the weight of the full size one and it can still hold a ton of stuff. As for the seat and backrest I loved my Mustang seat and rider backrest. I had also bought the Mustang pad for the Harley detachable backrest but it wasn't as nice as the Harley one. My wife found the way the Harley one was curved around her back was much more comfortable. My condolences for your loss. I was just contacted that my favorite Uncle died last night. He was the last of Mom's brothers and sisters. Mom passed back in 2016.
Sorry to hear about your families’s loss as well. That is actually good to know about the backrest pad because I ordered the tour pack chopped without it because I was going to try to match it with Mustangs.
@@BoDean52 Bob I haven't tried that one. I was referring to the one that goes on the quick attach backrest/sissy bar that you already have. I only had the Harley pad I bought at the same time as my chopped tour pak.
Here's a quote i learned years ago that may help your wife, you, or the family. "Close your eyes and you can see me, close your ears and you can hear me, look in your heart and you can feel me." Hope it helps on those rough days when we're missing our loved ones. 💚👊
In response to your loss, my sympathy and carpe diem to live each day to its fullest. I recently got diagnosed with AFIB and I am more determined to ride my bike more often!
Glad to hear things going well at the LAN dealer; I planned to buy a cheapie RE but sales staff didn’t seem interested. I may give them another shot as I’m considering a 2nd bike. See you out there!!
Man. The tab 50 cals with zombie baffles sound amazing. They aren’t as loud as I thought they would be. Hoping you’re going that direction. My sissy bar was almost impossible to get off too. I took a small brass hammer to it. Glad you mentioned that. I’ll have my dealer look at mine!
Appreciate that and believe it or not it worked like it was more of a problem with how the docking station was fabricated. I did not go the 50 cals but will showing new ones soon!
As you know, I took my 2024 in for it's 1k service. No hammers needed. I mentioned in my last video that maybe the 12 1/2 might have been a little tall. I am considering a new seat but we will see after my Panama City trip. Enjoy that new ride.
I saw that Bob and I will tell you I am 6 foot three and the 10 inch Harley Davidson windshield is perfect. I’m not necessarily a big fan of the look, but functionality wise. It is great.
Our sympathy to you and Donna. Family and friends are so important. My wife and I retired in 2020 but both still do a little PRN work when it works for us. We are in professions that allow that. It helps with financing our bike habits!! Peace to you guys..
Condolences on your father-in-laws passing. My wife's father passed away in February and we are having a second memorial service in his honor next week at his and his wife's summer residence. Ride on, BoDean.
Just installed Saddlemen RoadSofa CF Ext. Reach on my 2024 RG. I'm 6'1, seat is great, puts be back about 2" further back from tank, maybe a little higher.
Good friends are a blessing for sure. Question. While you are riding does the new street/road glides have the safety feature that you can not input a destination into the GPS?
I agree with Ty!!! Your transparency and vulnerability are honorable! What a great ride video!!! I've had my fair share of crotch-rocket fly-bys that scared me too! Ride safe!
Very nice bike! I definitely agree with the Mustang seat (Widetripper on my 2023 Street Bob), but I still added the Saddlemen gel seat pad for additional comfort. What a difference. I use to wear bicycle shorts under my jeans, but I think the seat pad is more comfortable. I agree with your windshield choice-no one likes a bobble head. Have you had any trouble with marks on the white paint?. I used an RV product on my white Ducati Monster to remove boot marks. Modifications are fun but get very expensive.
You sir have put less miles on that machine than I’ve put on my Sporty so far this year and I live in the thumb. Next, you are correct we never know when it’s our time and we should enjoy every day to the fullest. I am sorry for your and your wife’s loss.

Hi Bo Dean 52, sorry for your loss, prayers for healing & comfort. Great video as always, beautiful scenery, Pearl looks amazing, Ride Hard💪🏼, Be Blessed 🙏🏽, Aloha, Kenneth 🤙🏽
Just ordered an 11 inch shield from freedom shields. Hopefully it's all good. Put 4 1/2 tabs with the zombie baffels. Sounds like a respectable harley now.
Finding that sweet spot with a windshield I have had 3 different ones till I found the one I liked best. It sucks when you see your old bike at the dealer lol. Been there LOL.Glad you're digging pearl I was out driving Ruby today. Ride safe
Battle of the seats . Hehe. Batle of the seats . That's great the dealer was able to fix the rear stay, maybe they over tightened it too much . Glad your enjoying the new Road Glide.
Recently had the chance to have a 2024 RG for a few days from my local dealer, the stock seat at 6’3” is not at all comfortable, I have 33.5 inseam so not comfy. But I am sure with a +2 seat it would be really comfy.
Live for today, plan for the weekend, was my moto while I was working. Now, my moto is simple, as you say, live for today, and make the best out of it.
Purchase a Mustang seat 2 years ago based on your recommendation. Was definitely the best decision I made. Thank you for that info. I have one other question that I know you're asked quite often. I have a handlebar mount for my cell phone camera but the videos come out real shaky! I have the stabilization setting set on my phone but I'm still getting the same effect. How are you able to keep your so steady during your ride? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I know you’re asking BoDean that question but you might want to give the Quadlock with stabilizer a consideration. I use it on both my Harley (the Boneshaker) and my GoldWing. No issues with stabilization
Tab performance mufflers....50cal with zombie baffles and go with an Amazon Chopped tour pack....save yourself the money get the pack, and mounting plate and rack from Amazon and I had mine painted for short money...I couldn't be happier

🛑🛑 If I could recommend to you one thing, I think if were you; I would consider doing a complete exhaust change. 💯 From what I’ve been seeing and hearing (UA-cam GixxerFoo Video) the EPA is clamping down on Tunes and Exhaust you can put on your bike. The EPA is also fining anyone who tunes a bike, from a Stock Configuration. I think before the “hammer comes down” where you are “locked in” to a stock exhaust system I would change it out while it can still be done.
