    Duluth, MN is smaller than the town where I live, and yet at ground level downtown, strangely, it looks more like a big city. This intrigues me, and I'd love to visit sometime.

      @timpalmer7934 I know what you mean Tim. It’s an extremely old and historic city. Lots of brick and you can just imagine the people in the early 1900 still walking around.

      It’s an unbelievable old-school city with those buildings. One fun fact, did you know the build right next to the lift bridge is where pizza rolls were invented? Take a look at the history, Duluth is where it started. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pizza_snack_rolls

    Thanks so much for this video tour. I was born and raised in Duluth (Duluth East '76) and this brough back some good memories. Attended a few "Christmas City of the North" parades and saw more than a few movies at the Norshor. It's been awhile since I last visited. I was trying to see if the old Medical Arts building and the Black Bear lounge are still there, but it seemed they are not. Much change over the years but I'd love to try out some of the new places.

      Black Bear is gone I know. A lot has changed but each of those older brick buildings speak about years past just by looking at them. I love this city Greg. Four ships will be moving soon and I will be going live next to the bridge.

    I wonder if the Temple Opera Block is where the old Symphonic Hall was? In 1959, when I was a 4th grader at Washburn School they brought all the 4th graders in Duluth to a concert from the Duluth Symphony. It had a profound impact on me and was a great experience.

    This might be my favorite video of yours yet, amazing spot getting built up nicely. Well done. I went in to hucklebeary a few year back when she had a place you could touch both walls if you outstretched your arms, great person that owns it, good to see her coming up in the world. Nothing beats a Duluth stroll, minus that woman yelling haha! never saw those swings and things in the beginning definitely need to check em out soon!

    • @vibewithmike
      @vibewithmike  Рік тому

      Hey brother! Yeah, I have never walked on Superior Street, just to take a walk. It was cool checking out all the new spots and a few old ones. I love the architecture because those buildings are so old school with brick but there’s new restaurants and bars in there. It gets a little wild by the casino. There’s always some commotion in there. You see a lot more walking around I noticed. I typically drive by all of that stuff. Thanks brother for checking in! Let me know when you’re going to hit Duluth, let’s get together up here!

    Duluth Minnesota looks like Minneapolis and ST. Paul from street view, we may not have real size mountains but kind of we got huge hill and green grass trees everywhere cliffs that look like mountains, and I like the Duluth beach sandy beach on canal park.

    I hope they rightsize the i35 in that area where you start out at the beginning. There is a great plan to have pedestrian zones with more shops and green spaces. It would also connect to Canal Park. Something like this just makes sense for a city with lots of walking by residents and visitors.

    Oh man!!! That was out of this world. I worked in the title insurance business most of my life and the last independent title company I worked for in California was an agent for First American Title Company (among others) so that resonates with me in a big way. And don’t get me started on Duluth Trading Co. I’m a Duluth Trading junkie. I’ll bet 2/3 of my wardrobe was purchased from DTC. When you put the camera on that building my heart skipped a beat. Outstanding job.

    It’s me Mike.
    Lots of changes since I lived in Duluth 53 years ago. I don’t see any businesses that used to be there when I lived there. Fun fact…..Greysolon Plaza used to have the Black bear lounge. Named after a black bear got in many many years ago. It was also in one of the opening scenes of Disney’s movie “Iron Will” along with my high school, “Duluth Central”
    I think Duluth Trading Company is headquartered in Wisconsin.
    By the way, what happened to the Vikings losing after beating the Packers, the week before. That’s why I moved my fan devotion to Tampa with Tom Brady. Cousins needs to get some receivers that know how to catch the ball.

    • @vibewithmike
      @vibewithmike  Рік тому

      I love those awesome facts that you let me know about Duluth! Regarding the Vikings, my back up team has always been whoever Brady plays for. He is the best and a true professional. Nobody is or will better at QB! Living in Minnesota our sports teams require a heavy dose of hope as a fan. 😂😂😂

    Thanks. Lots of construction on Superior St. last few years, haven't walked there in a long time. Looks very nice, clean, with attractive, trendy spots. But the past had its own funky charm. Electric Fetus - great music store, clothes, etc. Disheveled old used bookstore. Colorful characters off the boats. Quirky.
