Hi sunny , I my self have lost weight and started to run , last may I was 120 kg (at 5ft 9) by December I had got Down to 85 kg , and ran my 1st 5k at 37 minutes , it took me a couple of months to get under 30 , and last month I got a 27.08 🤣 but now struggling to get into the 26 minute range. Did you get under 27 ?
@@danbox3565 Hello Dan, I actually took some time off shortly after as strength training got the better of me. Currently recovering from a hamstring injury, but that sub 27 is very much still ticking away in the back of my head. Well done on the weight loss, those times are epic.. Nice one 👐 Sonny

It would be nice to see Sonny breaking 27min by Christmas. And videos like this about helping people breaking a certain time barrier in a specific distance really motives me and runners alike. Nice video as always.
Cheers Chris - it's amazing what a response videos of these type can get, there is just something about the joy of assisting others to break barriers in running. Thank you for watching
Well done Sonny! That's a great time! I started running in March and just got my best 5k time of 34.42. Your video inspired me to go for it tonight and I knocked off almost 2 minutes from my last PB. You and Harry are pretty inspiring!

@@NickyJones99 pretty much completely booked up for October - as well as getting a place last minute... that would be an absolutely marvellous video to shoot.
This was awesome to watch. I just did my first sub 30 (28:50) at a race on Thanksgiving morning. My last hard training run on the Sunday before was 30:40 and my previous 5k race on November 3rd was 33:50, although I had a chest cold and was struggling to breath combined with the classic mistake of going out too fast! Crash and burn! I was smarter this last time. If you put in the work you definitely will see the results. I'm at least 70 pounds overweight so I'm really curious to see what I can do at a healthier weight. Good luck to all who are chasing new goals!
This is awesome! I returned to parkrun a few weeks ago after 3 years out and my PB previously was about 27 minutes and I initially found myself at 33 minutes on my return and am now hacking my way at the 30 minute mark with a hope of soon getting back to that 27 mark and this was inspirational.
I'm doing a bit of training for when our Park Runs actually start up again and today I managed 5k in 40min. I'm a beginner, middle-aged and working on weight loss. It did help to control my breathing.
Excellent. I'm sitting at 32:29 and looking to break the 30mins come the end of May. Started running start of March 22 at 22.5 stone, now down to 20 stone so it's getting easier!!

First off, great motivation and congrats to the both of you! I must admit, though, the thought of circumnavigating(twice) a body of water named "Cheddar Reservoir" makes my stomach a little queasy. Very picturesque spot, on the other hand. Love the visual. I digress. I was impressed by Sonny's grit and determination and Harry's gatekeeping and perfect pacing. Harry provided just the right mix of gentle urging and Martinet-like efficiency in ticking off the kilometers. I suppose "there's an APP", but it aint gonna open the gates, or sidestep the nuns! Fortunately, I don't expect to encounter such obstacles in an upcoming 5K(one month form now) in South Florida. 35 years ago, I lived in NYC and would willingly show up for the odd corporate run in Central Park but, alas, at 68 it's a C25K program this time.
