The god of HMs. The slayer of gods. Norbert and Daggit would be so proud of their fellow beaver. And this one isn't even angry (though he does get moody). 🤣
Given how moody turned otherwise unremarcable mons like Glalie or Bibarel into stuff that'd break even ubers, I don't want to know how it'd be on a Pokemon with a decent stat spread/BST. Not like it'd matter anyways as it'll likely remain banned from competitive for a long time, if not forever.
My Simple Bibarel was a champ in Radical Red, Skull Bash adding x2 attack and defense went hard, especially with a Power Herb. Add in Defense Curl and Rollout and it swept a ton of teams. Add in Waterfall for filler STAB and a lot of things struggled with it, especially after the boosts, it really only feared special attackers and high powered fighting types who threatened it turn one, who still don't enjoy a base power 130 move with STAB coming their way. I eventually replaced Defense Curl and Rollout for Return and Bulldoze as the ability to slow down Mons that switched in afterward was great, as 71 base speed isn't exactly zippy!
I love normal types. They need more love. Honestly they should be classified as abnormal. They can learn a huge diversity of moves and diverse evolutions, Eevee specifically.
Well, Bidoof and bibarel was terrorising ubers but needed Moody. When that was banned in even ubers, Bibarel was left in the dust. Bidoof was in LC so it was technically better off than its evolved form. Not sure how well it did there. FSG should make a video on how good it was there.
I remember that in STABmons Bibarel was a f**king monster, for those who don't know, STABmons was a special meta on Showdown! where you could use (almost) any move from the types that the mon gets STAB from, even pre-evolutions if they're typing was different. So for example a Water/Flying type could use almost any Water and Flying type attacks regardless of if it could actually learn them in-game (think Gyrados with Earthquake, Dragon Dance, Waterfall and Dragon's Ascent, this would be legal in STABmons). Simple Shell Smash with STAB Extreme Speed and Aqua Jet, +4 Attack, Special Attack and Speed with an attack that has +2 Priority, do I need to explain why this is terrifying? CHOICE SCARF DEOXSYS-S WAS OUTSPEED BY IT*, I know that's not an ideal item for it, but that's to give you an idea of how insane it was, (Bibarel has base 71 BTW, compared to Deoxsys-S's staggering base 180 Speed). *If it ran Jolly, Adamant would be outsped, this is with a plus-Speed nature and 252 EV's into Speed on Deoxsys Shell Smash was pretty nasty in that meta overall, the Eevelutions all got Shell Smash thanks to Eevee being a Normal type (Flareon was quite solid with Shell Smash, Flare Blitz and Extreme Speed iirc), Azumaril could also use it thanks to Azurill being a Normal type (not as powerful as BellyJet, but less risky). Kyreum-Black had Dragon Dance and good physical Ice STAB before gen 8. Some numbers for those curious about the unholy power that is Shell Smash Bibarel; 252EV's into Attack and Speed with +Attack Nature: Attack: 295->885 after Shell Smash Speed: 241->723 after Shell Smash 252EV's into Attack and Speed with +Speed Nature: Attack: 269->807 after Shell Smash Speed: 265->795 after Shell Smash Yes your Defense and Special Defense do get halved, but with 2 Priority attacks (Aqua Jet and Extreme Speed) on top of a speed stat now comparable to one of the fastest Pokémon around. Plus you can give it a Focus Sash to survive long enough to get the Shell Smash off.

"Soon, you will all be one with Bidoof! Which is just my cute little way of saying "dead"."
I would have imagined that Bidoof's popularity overshadowing Bibarel, but you can't deny how good Simple is as an ability. I suppose giving Bibarel a bit more speed and attack my help, but unfortunately, there are much better Normal and Water types that can outperform Bibarel.
Bibarel: What is my job?
Me: To use HMs so I can get around the map with no hassle (With a dedicated flying type, of course)
Bibarel: *seriously what is my purpose in life*
Gen 5:
Bibarel: So what is my purpose
Me: DESTROY EVERYTHING WITH +6 EVERYTHING
Bibarel: Finally!
Using this guy in Gen 7 PU was really fun. I had many rage quits.
Bidoof: (Gets Moody)
Every single God and Legendary Pokémon in Ubers: "Why do I hear BFG Division?"
Being Moody makes something Uber? Nice to know what tier I belong in.
I still remember the times of Moody Bibarel, the only gen where I played Ubers just to make people rage with these lmao
It will be banned as long as evasion boosting moves are banned because it's the degenerate RNG-based play that people don't like.
@@halfaheartbongobongo Pokemon is a game based on rng lmao
from what I've read, it stopped boosting evasion on gen 6 or 7? Still banned due to the random nature of it from what I understand though.
@@nunchuk28 it's odd sleep and evasion are still nerfed by Saigon rules yet gen 7 gave us the most tools to deal with them
Hot take: I think Evasion as a mechanic should be removed entirely. Let moves have their accuracy stat and leave it at that.
i knew bidoof would be dominating in gen 5 the second i saw that his hidden ability was moody
Bibarel will always have a special place in my heart for him sweeping teams for me in OU with a simple focus sash priority SD set
I eventually replaced Defense Curl and Rollout for Return and Bulldoze as the ability to slow down Mons that switched in afterward was great, as 71 base speed isn't exactly zippy!
moody is Bidoof's secret weapon, DO NOT MESS WITH BIDOOF!!
What we've all been waiting for, the HM slave itself
When Bibarel enters the competitive scene with the ability Moody
*Bibarel: The Breaker of Worlds*
Who would have guessed mood swings would be so ridiculously powerful?
Anything Goes tier is created
Moody Bidoof: My time has come
I love normal types. They need more love. Honestly they should be classified as abnormal. They can learn a huge diversity of moves and diverse evolutions, Eevee specifically.
Game Devs: "You know that Pokemon we made as an HM slave? Well what if we made it a god killer?"
So it's better to be moody than to be simple? As a teenager this is great advice
Gen4 Bibarel: Call an ambulance!
Gen5 Bibarel: *But not for me.*
One of Chansey/Blissey has always been in OU, but neither have been banned while Bidoof has, so who's the real winner here?
@OwO are you the same person advertising the same video
The HM God.
@@RLWiso that's not a person, that's a bot

Well, Bidoof and bibarel was terrorising ubers but needed Moody. When that was banned in even ubers, Bibarel was left in the dust. Bidoof was in LC so it was technically better off than its evolved form. Not sure how well it did there. FSG should make a video on how good it was there.
Bidoof/Bibarel in gen 5: “I am death; destroyer of worlds.”
Perfect Bidoof from Pokemon Rusty is just Bidoof with BOTH Simple AND Moody.
This was the first video i look for when i found your channel. Thank you for making this video.
Best pokemon. God status. Untouchable.
*If it ran Jolly, Adamant would be outsped, this is with a plus-Speed nature and 252 EV's into Speed on Deoxsys
Shell Smash was pretty nasty in that meta overall, the Eevelutions all got Shell Smash thanks to Eevee being a Normal type (Flareon was quite solid with Shell Smash, Flare Blitz and Extreme Speed iirc), Azumaril could also use it thanks to Azurill being a Normal type (not as powerful as BellyJet, but less risky). Kyreum-Black had Dragon Dance and good physical Ice STAB before gen 8.
Some numbers for those curious about the unholy power that is Shell Smash Bibarel;
252EV's into Attack and Speed with +Attack Nature:
Attack: 295->885 after Shell Smash
Speed: 241->723 after Shell Smash
252EV's into Attack and Speed with +Speed Nature:
Attack: 269->807 after Shell Smash
Speed: 265->795 after Shell Smash
Yes your Defense and Special Defense do get halved, but with 2 Priority attacks (Aqua Jet and Extreme Speed) on top of a speed stat now comparable to one of the fastest Pokémon around. Plus you can give it a Focus Sash to survive long enough to get the Shell Smash off.
