I have both a four section fiberglass pole set as well as the aluminum mast kit. What I failed to have made before moving to the EU was an adapter that would allow the fiberglass masts to mount on top of the aluminum mast kit. This would allow isolation of the mast from the antenna wire at the upper most section of the mast. The aluminum mast kit is a bit awkward for one individual to set up and was used by two man crews in the military but it can be done. Might be a problem once I get the fiberglass mast sections added to the top of the aluminum. BTW those fiberglass tent poles were used to hold up camouflage tents in remote areas, they came with an unusual three section that look like snow shoes with a common center mount for the poles. This prevented the poles from punching through the camo tents. 73!

Hey I appreciate that Anthony! Sorry that I missed you on ColCon the other day. I did hear you but my radio was so hot from nearly an hour of straight use. I was afraid I'd let the smoke out if I keyed up one more time. I hope to catch you soon!

I appreciate your comment. Also, I do my best to practice proper and respectful etiquette when tuning on bands. Doesn't mean I won't ever accidentally tune up on someone, but I do my best not to. 73

I really enjoy your videos. I didn’t mean anything negative with my comment. What I meant was if you tune up right on top of somebody on the same frequency, it’s called zero beating, and they can hardly hear it but if you turn your dial a little bit off frequency and tuneup, it’s much louder for them, and it interrupts their conversation

Hey I really appreciate you clearing that up. I was afraid I had done something wrong and didn’t catch it.

Nice video. I have a bunch of the same poles. What I did was put hose clamps
on the bottoms of the poles at the joint I stuck together. This will keep the poles from splitting
when standing them up. I don't put more than 5 pole together and I guy it just incase
of wind picking up. The work well for wire antennas. KF6EWO

Hey that is a great idea with the hose clamps. With the exception of the three currently deployed at my house for my EFHW, I use them exclusively for portable work and like you said, I never use more than five in a single deployment. I tried six one time and quickly took it down. 73!

Hey I appreciate that! It is a pretty good antenna. I have thought about making a second dongle for it to see if I can make it work on other bands.

have you thought about cutting a length of wire just for 15m or 10m so you can just switch them out or adding quick connectors on the end@@JosephLittleK3ARK
