The A ratings are for cell phone specs so I wouldn't worry about that. As for the jittery looking footage, that's probably due to having a really high shutter speed in order to have the proper exposure with how bright it is outside. what type class micro SD should I be using in a 720/1080p SQ11 camera? All the micros I've tried come up as unreadable AVI files when I take the card out of mini cam, put into adapter in my MAC SD slot. Is it the card, the camera, the class or a Mac/Quicktime issue?

@@CamberFilmSchool Another question I have is if im shooting 1080p does it matter if i'm using U1 or U3 cards? I've read that for 4K U3 is much better, but does it matter for 1080?
1080p should be fine with a U1 card. The highest bitrate on most of the new DJI drones is 100 mbps (12.5 MB/s) when shooting 4K so that would mean you'd want to use a U3 card because that assures that you keep a minimum write speed of 30 MB/s, which you need to be higher than the 12.5 MB/s that the 4K is recording.

greetings hope all is well, i just got DJi mini 2 drone, i put a 4gb card in the drone, on my remote its says no sd card, but my remote was recording still but couldn't find footage?

I just did it based on the recording time I mentioned in the video but you can definitely get more. I just never keep that much footage on the card so I don’t need that much space.
As for the u3. What does that mean. I see u1 u2 Etc. etc. if you can explain I would greatly appreciate that and there is this for the Mavic two pro the absolute best card I can purchase or is there something better
This video I made here ( ua-cam.com/video/ZmVir_BbITA/v-deo.html ) will explain what all the numbers on memory cards mean. U3 means it will have a minimum sustained write speed of 30 MB/s. The Mavic 2 Pro records are 100 Mb/s which translates to 12.5 MB/s. So you need at least a U3 card to keep up with that write speed. And the card I listed in the description is definitely one of the best for the Mavic 2 Pro.
I have P4P+ and i need some micro sd card, but the Samsung Micro SDXC EVO Plus 128gb UHS-I U3 have only 90mb/s writing and I need 100mb/s. I need maximum of possible quality, bcs im filmmaker and the shots of this drone will go to TV in future.
You are reading those wrong. It is listed as 90 MB/s, not mb/s. But even so, that 90 MB/s that you are reading on the card is a maximum writing speed, not a sustained speed which is what you need for video. The "U3" on the card means it has a minimum sustained speed of 30 MB/s, which is plenty fast for the speed you are talking. The camera records at 100 mb/s which is equal to 12.5 MB/s. MB/s means Megabytes, and mb/s means megabits. There are 8 bits in a byte so when you divide the 100 mb/s speed of the camera, you get 12.5 MB/s. SO you are good to go with what you have.
It will because the max bitrate is only 40 Mb/s which equates to 5 MB/s and a U1 will have you covered up to 10 MB/s. I typically always buy at least U3 though because it's not much more expensive and will be good up to 30 MB/s so you won't need a new one if you upgrade to a drone with a higher bitrate.
TBONEraca that’s cool. 👍🏽 Just keep in mind that the 85 MB speed is the maximum achievable speed which means it can only do that in short bursts for times like when you’d take a lot of photos in a row. The minimum sustained write speed is what matters for video because the camera is recording at a constant speed bitrate. And U3 and V30 represent the minimum sustained speed for SD cards meaning a guaranteed sustained speed of 30 MB/s.
hello and thank you for the video. your recommended 32gb card for Phantom 3 shows an Extreme Plus version, however your link in the description goes to an Extreme only card. Can you clarify which one you are actually referring to. Thank you.
I have a Phantom 3 Professional. I have been using this Samsung Evo Plus 32g U1... If I used a SanDisk extreme pro with 62gb, will the video quality be better? I have been using the Samsung since I got it recently and would like to know if this is the reason why my footage hasn't been exact as clear as I want it to be (4k)
Steven 2gen, changing the card won’t change the video quality. That’s just a matter of your camera settings. The only thing the card would fix is if your current one wasn’t fast enough and causing dropped frames.
@@CamberFilmSchool I only have two options. 1 is to upload to my phone and 2 is to my chromebook from the micro sd..... Now, the video is still not coming out as clear as other videos I've seen. Why is that? I am shooting in 4k 24fps
Very clear, thank you. I was just wondering: I have an Insta360 One X camera and it came with a 32Gb Sandisk Extreme Plus microSD card. To have more recording time, I purchased a Samsung 128 EVO Plus microSD. In terms of speed, I thought these should be comparable but after some time the camera stopped randomly, error message saying that the memory card was too slow. I bought another Extreme Plus (64Gb) and this worked just fine. The Insta360 has 2 cameras and therefore 2 simultaneous video streams. Is it the V30 spec that determines that it can handle this? As the Samsung doesn't have this.
The V30 is a newer indication that the SD Association starting putting on memory cards to show which ones are capable of maintaining at least 30MB/s while recording. It means essentially the same as the U3 rating that is on most cards that can handle that minimum sustained write speed of 30 MB/s. So, if you get a card that says U3, then you'll be good if a V30 can handle your recording speed. But if it's just U1, then that means it is only guaranteed to write at 10 MB/s for a sustained period.
i just bought a MAVIC MINI. and i got a 64gb class 10 ultra it does not let me record more than 10 secs, and can not see it in my lap top, i guess i picked the wrong one and expensive what card do you you recommend , thx i apreciate your help
@@theone-jt7hl, yes. Whenever you put a new card into a camera or use the same card in a different type of camera, you need to format it on that camera so that it'll work properly.
@@CamberFilmSchool I did it. It said successful. But still only records about 10 secs. Then i try it again. And says. To contact dji I tryed agb card. And it was perfect. Maybe i should try a smaller capacity sd. Than 64. Thx.
It depends on your definition of lots of recording and what mode you’re shooting in. You can record a lot more at FHD than at 4K because of the data rates. The 64GB you described is good.
120 Mb/s is the same as 15 MB/s. A card with a “U3” symbol on it means that it won’t write slower than 30 MB/s. So you’ll be good as long as it is a “U3” rated card.

I bought 2 SanDisk Extreme micro SD cards XC V30 U3 A2 to put in my new DJI FPV and Goggles V2. The video that is recorded on the Googles is always fluid although in low resolution but the video that is recorded on the drone at 4K 60 fps is always with several breaks, it seems that sometimes freezes or that you miss frames. If I change the cards between Goggle and Drone the problem remains. If it was a camera problem, surely the video would not look good on Goggles. Could it be that these cards do not have the performance necessary to record the 4k 60 fps of the drone? Thank you in advance for your help!
It all depends on the bitrate of the recording vs the speed of the card. The goggles are recording at a lower resolution so it’s a lower bitrate. DJI lists on their website what the recording bitrate is for all their devices. If it’s anything over 240 mbps then you’ll need a faster card.

Ok... I have another video explaining the speed of cards. All that really matters for video is the minimum sustained write speed which is going to be 30MB/s on a U3 card and 10MB/s on a U1 card. I didn't explain the speeds in depth here because in the video where I did do that so that people could determine what card would be best for them, everyone just continually posts what camera they have and what card do they need. That's why I made this one.
@@CamberFilmSchool Makes sense, and it is a good video that you made. It is just so sad that manufacturers are not transparent about the real speed of their cards and use false data for advertisement.

The Mavic Mini has a recording bit rate of 40 Mb/s so I'd go with the same 32GB card as for the Mavic Pro 👉🏼 amzn.to/2Vkifm7
@@CamberFilmSchool ok thank you
You’re welcome!
How about the new mavic mini?
I also want to know if the uhs 1 class 1 will work?
Like the sandisk ultra uhs 1 A1 128gb will work?
The Mavic Mini's max bitrate is 40 Mb/s so I'd go with the same 32GB card ( amzn.to/2Vkifm7 ) as for the Mavic Pro.
Just ordered kingston canvas select plus 256gb for 36€ (down from 50€) it is u3 but rated for 85MB write 😊
Guess im good for a couple of years 😎😎
TBONEraca that’s cool.
Do you know why the footage gets blurry whenever you start recording/streaming live with dji mavic
Sounds like a focusing issue.
What sd card is best for the mavic mini?

Hello I'm thinking on getting the dji air 2s what sd card would I use to give lots of video and picture time
What’s your definition of lots of time?
Thank you! very helpfull
Good to hear! Thanks, Bhai Style 👍🏼
hello and thank you for the video. your recommended 32gb card for Phantom 3 shows an Extreme Plus version, however your link in the description goes to an Extreme only card. Can you clarify which one you are actually referring to. Thank you.
The one in the link is fine. You just want to be sure to have a "U3" rating on the card for the camera's video bitrate.
Thank you!
You're welcome! 👍🏼
i have a Autel EVO 2 8K. still trying to figure out what to use.
That has a max video bitrate of 15 MB/s so I'd go with this 64GB Micro SD Card ( amzn.to/2APWcdD ) that can sustain recording up to 30 MB/s.
Thanks !!!
You’re welcome!
freind thank you for the tips

Will the Sandisk Extreme that was in this video be good for the dji mavic mini?

As long as it's rated at U3 or V30, you should be good to go.

@@CamberFilmSchool is 32gb big enough for lots of recording? Is 64gb v30 a2 ok for dji mavic mini?
It depends on your definition of lots of recording and what mode you’re shooting in. You can record a lot more at FHD than at 4K because of the data rates. The 64GB you described is good.
Does the last part include mavic air 2 as well?
Yes
@@CamberFilmSchool it has a biterate of 120 but the ones you mentioned at the end are all 100, is there a difference or any problem at all?
Nope, as along as you have a “U3” rated card then you’ll be good to go.
@@CamberFilmSchool oh ok, do I have to check the mb/s though, cause aren’t there some that are too slow for certain drones/cameras?
120 Mb/s is the same as 15 MB/s. A card with a “U3” symbol on it means that it won’t write slower than 30 MB/s. So you’ll be good as long as it is a “U3” rated card.
I have a Kinsgton 124GB but the Drone still gives the message that the SD card is slow.
A U3 rated Micro SD card should be fast enough for most drones.

Sir: Please can you help me?: I’ve Canon T71 and I don’t know what I did, the problem is that he doesn’t want to film and a flashing warning appears that it can’t record. Please help me, thanks in advance for your answer
Have you formatted the card in the camera?

Unfortunately the advertised speed of most of those cards is NOT the real speed: Here is a speed test: ua-cam.com/video/aazprXilyxY/v-deo.html
Yeah, unfortunately that's why these videos I made on SD cards do so well because companies make is so confusing!
What Memory card should I use for Mavic air 2?
