My most-anticipated album of the whole year! Can't wait to check it out on the Bandcamp listening party in a couple hours.
Alcest is one of my all time favorite blackgaze/post-metal bands. Neige has a way of combining harsh black metal elements with beautiful post-metal and shoegaze elements. I love almost every album they've done with the exception of Shelter. Ecailles de Lune, Les Voyages de l'Ame, and Kodama are all masterpiece albums. The last album Spiritual Instinct was also one of my favorite albums of 2019, so I'm really looking forward to this new album.
what blackgaze bands can you recommend besides them?
@@agamersdiary1622 I can recommend Deafheaven, Altar of Plagues, Fen, Lantlos, Harakiri for the Sky, Violet Cold, Woods of Desolation, and White Ward.

I've been an Alcest fanboy for a long time now, and I'm stupidly pumped to listen to this thing.
Alcest have become one of my favourite bands in recent years. Kodama blew me away when it came out and theyve only continued to wow me with subsequent and previous releases. Really excited to get my teeth into this new album!
So hyped for the album, Alcest yet to release a project I didn't liked, and singles to new one were very promising
Please review the brand new CANDY record It’s Inside You, don’t let the band band fool you, blistering and crushing in the best ways possible, also industrial and shoegaze elements are thrown in there for good measure
It's a really good album, we'll be talking about it in the next ALBUMS I MISSED video.

Did you ever review Brat's Social Grace? Don't be put off by the hot pink logo, I was surprised how hard that one goes
nice review! to me they're one of the most consistent bands. It is exceedingly rare that I find a band or artist that doesn't fall off. I would say the only slightly disappointing quality this album has is how it ends/the runtime. It could have used one more long track at the end, or one more long track and then a short track to close it out. The runtime is slightly shorter than what I would have hoped for. Other than that, I have no complaints! I think they did a very good job to stay close to their usual sound but not make it a total copy of any prior releases.
Wise to leave Mr. Jackson chained in the basement for this one. Great reviewp. The new DEMERSAL, MIRAR and LES CHANTS DU HASARD albums are also challengingly different listens.

In all fairness the fact that the album isn't that heavy is all fine and good with me, not everything in the metal genre has to be the new heaviest release ever.
A general example i like to use for artists and albums like this is diablo swing orchestra, i absolutely love them, even though my metal preferences lie strongly in bands like archspire, humanity's last breath, henker, vitriol, and blut aus nord among a mydiad others.
The main point is that a bit of contrast is always greatly appreciated, and this album is no different.
While i don't see it being in my top albums of the year, i'll definitely have it playing in a semi regular fashion throughout the year.
It's a solid album, quite enjoyable

I am looking forward to hearing what this album is going to be like. One of my favourite French bands and their second album is my favourite.
Probably my favourite French metal band, along with Gojira and Blut Aus Nord.

Ecailles De Lune is one of my favorite albums of all time tbh. Genuinely an album that has gotten me through a lot of dark and fucked up times. So yeah I love Alcest and I am a huge Shelter defender. Really liked it when Deafheaven went full Shoegaze on Infinite Granite and really liked it when Alcest did the same years before. Excited to listen to it when I can (but I’m on the Kdot, Kung fu Kenny, Kendrick Lamar Discog binge right now so Alcest will have to wait❤)

Im not super familiar with them or the genre, but Im glad for this review because I bought the album and Im waiting for it to arrive. Ive been starting to buy CDs again and some new ones without having listened to them first on Spotify.
Definitely check out more Alcest stuff when you get the chance bud, they've got so much great stuff.

it can be an official language and I can still not know it, the two aren't mutually exclusive lmao. Frankly I haven't heard ANYONE speak French since I was in Grade 8.

I've shown Shelter to a number of people who despise metal. They were floored! Hopefully this will be a good second recommendation.
Shelter is extremely overlooked, I'm glad that we're revisiting the warmness of that album.
Its hardly a perfect record but I always felt it got a bad rep. There's a lot of heart and tenderness to that album that is really comforting.
You also butchered the name of the band. Its said like All Say.
