You are the best. I did it. Thanks. You covered all the necessary details, the size of the binding post is crucial. Without these details I wouldn't be able to do this.
Both of 2013 honda Crosstour sun visor broke and thnks to your vid, I fixed it saving me $250 for the replacement of both. Btw my visors could be split open in half, make fixing easier. There are 2 special-head screws on the mirror needs to be removed before it could be split
Thanks for that, worked like a charm, and I painted the ends to match the sunvisor colour. The post screws are also known as Chicago screws and are available from art supply outlets, 15mm or 5/8 inch, $1 each.
Have a Honda Pilot. Visor is floppy for about 20° of rotation then further rotarion is excessively tight. I figure the excessively tight spring has spread the plastic, allowing the floppy 20°. The visor is wrapped in fabric so I'll be guessing where to drill holes. I'll test it starting with 1/32" drill bits.
I had the same problem with my honda 2009, I replaced this part 4 times, Honda must to improve this desing I have an accord 2020 and had the same situation
I think I would go ahead and drill near the edge and just go with a small bolt and nut ( you might need 2 or 3) Good luck to you and thanks for watching!
Hello, I might have missed it, but what size drill bit did you use to make the hole into the visor? I’m new to all of this (just came back from the hardware store all nervous lol). Thank you for the video!
The drill bit size is depending on the threaded post insert. These posts should have a healthy flange on both ends therefore just use a drill bit slightly larger than the post diameter. Thanks for watching!
@@pmtips4482 I used two 2" Binder Clips and it worked like a charm😉. If the visor is thinner then maybe a slightly smaller Binder Clip would be more snug. If ever need to do so, try it out. 🙂
Nikhil, it's just that the threaded post will leave the visor with nearly a flush surface fit. My nearest big box store has the Hillman brand post. A 5/8 inch post worked for my visor but ymmv. Thanks for watching!
I make it a 64th or 32nd bigger than the post diameter. It's going through plastic so it's easy to push in. The post screws have nice large flanges on both sides too. Thanks for watching.
Larry, it won't matter much on that, just big enough to push the screw post through. It will depend on what post size you get. The post has a generous lip on the one side and the screw will too. Thanks for watching!

Glad it helped!
Thank you for watching!
This is exactly what I needed, especially since I can't even order a new visor and the list price has gone up anyway!
Thanks for watching!
This worked beautifully on my 2009 Honda Civic! Thanks so much.
Great to hear!
Worked exactly as you noted. The L piece to pop it out was vital.

Thank you so much! This was the most in depth video I have seen. Saved me $60! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Thanks for watching! Good idea on painting the tips to match.
Chicago screws?
I was introduced to them as "sex bolts".
It works googling them.
Nicely and beautifully done. Thanks.
Thank you too!
I used zinc posts, worked well. Thanks for posting.
Great tip!
Great video. Thanks for your in-depth analysis!
Glad it was helpful!

Good job!

Thanks for this video. If it's the triangle-shaped "base" that is loose, how can I fix it? Thanks!

@@pmtips4482Thank you for the quick and helpful response!
How about using one of those large size Binder clips?
I don't think they would have the required pressure to work right.
Thanks for watching!

Do you need the same Hellman’s one or try with another?

Is your accent from NE Ohio by chance?
Southern Indiana!!
Why not just fill it up with epoxy and clamp it until cured?
I think that would work great too!
Thanks for the tip!

Great fix but I dont have time for this. I buy new ones every 2 years.
Steve, do you buy genuine Honda visors?
Thanks!
Keep you flash light off so we can see it
Thank you!
You sound like Johnny Cash.
Honda does use the cheapest materials known to man.
My seat material seems to be holding up real good.
