Also I feel that this years zombies is kind of a beta test for black ops zombies so they can improve and have less problems at launch just my lil thought
Can we just get a full $70 call of duty zombies game. Every map remastered & every season we get one new round based map & one new outbreak/mw3 style mode or map
In the bo3 era maybe this would have been possible, but zombies isn’t anywhere near being popular enough for activision to allow them to make a zombies only game.
@@fentolix5973if they make a CALL OD DUTY ZOMBIES game with every remastered map. Yes it would because even if u only played or like one zombie map back in the days guess what you got it. The only problem would be the guns.
Videos like this are really valuable to me right now because I’m older than I was when I started watching zombie walkthroughs and whatnot. I don’t have the time I used to as a teenager. Listening to long and thought out reviews and analysis like this give me the chance to think about zombies and spend time with it like I used to, and it helps me chose how I can engage with what limited time I do have. Thanks Milo, it makes a big difference.
@alz397 the group that grew up on cod zombies og have grown up and have jobs now, these new games are targeting a completely diff extreme adhd generation, every few mins they need objectives and constant rewards, og zombies formula of just go till high round isn't in that style even if it's better
Fucking love your self awareness and overall awareness around where the zombies community is and how candid you are about it. Big breath of fresh air having an honest review.
It feels so good to hear you mention the void of character in this mode now. The operator system is one of the biggest reasons the story Carrie’s no weight anymore.
I've been watching you for what feels like 10 years now and, well, where the fuck would we be as a community without this man. You're a goddamn inspiration
I feel like a good medium would be to give players an extra half hour or hour to do stuff. It gives us a little more time to do things, but it also still creates the different experiences of experiencing all the different zones.
Milo - I'm at the 35:45 minute mark, and this is 100% why I love you for ALL my zombies content. When I first saw an hours and a half, I was like "Oh come on, really?", but here I am, 1/3 of the way through it, and 100% appreciating all the thought you have put into what & why you're saying what you are. In the end, I know this is just a game and some people take it far too serious - but for you, it's more than that - this 'game' affects your channel, your viewership, your reputation among the community - and I appreciate that you take it so seriously. I'm going to finish this video now, but just had to take a quick minute to share my thought - hope you see it. You're fantastic sir & I greatly appreciate your hard work on this channel and for the zombies community. 🙂
I also think an improvement would be as the timer goes down the zombie population increases another idea I have is increase the the timer to maybe 3 hours. Every hour the zones change. After the 1st hour the grey zone also becomes orange no more grey zone at the end of the 2nd hour the whole map is red and in the 3rd hour the gas begins to spread the map would be more interesting and dynamic. Or combine both ideas lol. What do y'all think?
Honestly how do you and some of the other big Zombies channels not have a collaborative podcast yet? A zombies themed podcast where you spend an hour or so going through all the aspects of zombies, news on zombies and reminiscing on the old maps would honestly be great to listen to.
Milo I love this style of video. I’m excited when you release these. I listen to them while I’m driving to work, making my breakfast, even before I got to sleep. They aren’t all as involved visually so I can do other things at the same time. It lets me keep up with you more.
@@NOBODY-cn6fj that's crazy lmao....you know what, if he is, that's the ultimate respect because in this world, everyone fucks anyone...and it's disgusting
13:17 I personally wouldn’t sit in a match for 3 hours because in the 1 hour we do have I’ve filled my backpack with the loot that I want to take out with me. If we could get bigger packs than large then I might stay longer but as it stands, once I’m full on loot and finished whatever challenges I’m working on I get out and prep for the next challenge
Can we just appreciate how he took in consideration everybody’s feelings and personal point of view into consideration. Also if he didn’t like a certain thing he would try to give a possible solution. And love how he didn’t just shit on treyarch continuously and has thought about very deeply.
this is exactly why i always came back to Milo’s content. you’ve always been so thoughtful about ALL of it, even if it was just to push content out, you’ve always cared. this vid shows that the most and i can relate heavy to that. glad i’ve been here since you got to hang out with nolan north for a bit
Growing up i wouldnt have even thought about clicking on these kinds of videos cause i just wanted to find videos that had action, comedy and nothing but old zombies content.. but nowadays i absolutely love when you make videos like this cause this in my opinion is the best kind of feedback you can give to the zombies community whether we like to hear it or not (I personally love it cause i dont like the turn zombies has taken over the years, especially now)
I think your "devil's advocate" moments are what make you really stand out as a creator when discussing and rating things. It shows how much measured and truly thoughtful your responses to everything are. I love that you dissected the time limit thing for example, instead of just talking about why the time limit is bad you also discussed what its accomplishing and reasons why it might not be in people's best interests to remove it. You effectively make a one-person-talking video feel like a proper forum of discussion, moreso than the actual forums of discussion (twitter is soooo badd lmao)
honestly, i like that they are still willing to experiment. the old zombies games are still there to be played whenever, but experimentation leads to innovation, at the cost of sometimes resulting in failure.
So the answer to us old school zombie players who have been loving Easter eggs and round based maps for decades and support and growing zombies, is just play and be happy with the old games? :/
That feeling of progression within each match is the same reason people didn’t like gobblegums… overcoming the struggle of not having the points to go everywhere you wanted & zombies being a threat made it enjoyable to have those things…after the first few days you’ve forgotten that struggle…why even bother learning side-EEs when I can spawn in with my main perks?
in my opinion, the aether storm should have a portal to the dark aether, in the center... and the timer within the dark aether should reset back to 30-45 minutes for a different set of events and bosses, etc. tier 4-5 PaP grind, etc. beyond legendary loot.
Ever since the patch, in all tiers, I've been having to run around to look for zombies and it's really tedious but I swear pre patch no matter where I went there was lots of zombies
i feel like the map is too big. back in older games, tight corrodors made a small amount of zombies seem much larger and threatening. But when you have giant spaces you can dodge them and go around way to easy
Ya that’s the problem I have with this, constantly having to leave kindve annoys me. Like I want to put the work in tier one and two to make it to tier three
Then they need to let you exfil with pack a punch and or weapon tiers. The games are way to short, I literally get set up as I’m running to the exfil chopper lmao
@MrRoflWaffles what you said from 16:28 until the end of wider gameplay section. They tried that with vanguard zombies (der an fang - the map with all the portals) going through portals to do missions & that was poorly received. But at least with der an fang it was in an enclosed space environment making it more of a challenge to survive. The main problem I had with MW3 and outbreak zombies was that because it’s soo open world, it’s too easy to get away from packs of zombies if you get over-runned. You never find yourself in situations where your back is against the wall (where you’re surrounded / cornered) and you have to fight your way out because it’s soo easy to bail the mission and run away. And I know people will just say: just don’t bail the mission, stay within the mission area and complete it. But, in a situation where you’re about to be over-runed and you only have a choice between bail or be put down, most people will bail, come back and try again more prepared and try again. That’s giving us too much of a chance to run away in my opinion. Round-based, enclosed space zombies is better because being unable to escape when it gets too heavy means you have no choice but to fight to survive. It also sticks to the whole horror setting which most previous cod zombies games are meant to be. A nightmare situation where you have no choice but to fight to survive. I know vanguard zombies was poorly received but at least they tried to give us the all in one. Letting us choose missions, keeping it in an enclosed space, trying to give it a horror vibe and still making it round based. MW3 zombies only let us choose missions. Finally I’d say MW3 zombies either should of at least given us even just one round based map / area (say on an island off the shore of the big map) and they still can do in a future update. Or made it so the missions are in an unescapable enclosed space giving us no choice but to fight to survive. Like your content on here, Milo. Keep up the good work
The entire arguement behind the negative aspects of this game can be boiled down to 7 simple words: I have no control over my game. Allow the player the freedom to make decisions which alter the gameplay experience, e.g. make it solo accessible, take out always online, let me choose where to spawn, let me choose whether or not to engage with the story or just survive, let me do an EE or not, let me choose my weapons and when I need to pack them. Just allow the player to customise their gameplay experience around the mode rather than making the player bend around the gameplay design of the mode. Oh and most importantly, let me bloody decide how long I get to play for!!!
I was thinking a longer game with the zones spreading before the storm spreads. 1.5-2hr games, at 30min zone 2 spreads and eliminates zone 1, at 1 hr zone 3 spreads to cover the map and at 1h30m the storm spreads forcing exfil.
I got some thoughts 1.remove the timer but as time goes on make each higher tier grow like tier 2 will encompass zone 1 then zone 3 will encompass all of the map. 2. The problem I have with the zombies is they don’t give enough points I want to play zombies for zombies so I would say let us get more points for killing zombies but let the contracts have higher risk/reward. IMO I hate killing hoards of zombies and get nothing for it besides xp/camo grind. 3. I don’t know if anyone has the same opinion on the fast zombies but holy dam I find it hard to get away front them to reload or put on armor slow them bitches down a little. 4. I would like to keep the rarity of weapons when you leave so let us keep the rarities but make the epic and legendary extremely harder to get. Those are the only problems that I have atm other than that i have a lot of fun
Some of my favorite radios are actually on Die Rise. I just remember being a kid and getting chills hearing the audio logs from random survivors around the world who were being driven mad by Richtofen and Maxis’ demands, and not to mention the creepy guy from The Flesh
For the story of the dark aether, I don’t like seeing campaign characters in zombies. It seems off and weird seeing them play a role in zombies, characters like Soap, Laswell, and Zharkov from MW, and Weaver and Kravchenko from Cold War. It just doesn’t fit in with the zombie story.
Disagree. This actually makes it feel like it's ''real'' in the universe. If this wasn't the case, you'd be wondering why the team that can seemingly achieve anything in campaign isn't called on a threat like this.
The problem isn't necessarily that it's not enjoyable for certain people, the issue is how this just simply is not Zombies at all, from it's round base game flow to its very foundational mechanics, MW3 Zombies is inherently different from everything that made it popular in the first place. And while game franchises should be allowed be innovate and experiment, when you advertised this to long-term fans, there comes a certain expectation you must meet and this is definitely not it.
That’s not a problem though, this isn’t black ops, it shouldn’t be roundbased, I was fully expecting mwz not to be round based and for what I expected I was pleasantly surprised and have been enjoying it, again, I don’t enjoy it over round based but it isn’t round based, it’s a separate thing, like extinction, you can like extinction AND black ops round based and it’s the same here, I like this open world contract rouge lite mode while also loving round based I think it’s amazing they went this direction because we need more than just round based, look what happens when everyone tries it (Vangaurd) (Cold War since it wasn’t originally black ops) they end up like ass, if a non black ops tried making zombies, it should be their own idea like this exept of course with their own verison of pap and perks and the box
It's different, and people don't like different. They'd rather shun anything that's not what they're used to rather than giving it a chance. This is mostly visible in the fact that the zombies community was already shitting on the mode before it even came out and anyone had played it. Devs release a clearly suboptimal gameplay reveal and people say ''dead on arrival''.
i thought that the mode was not going to be very good but when i played it i had a bunch of fun. The problem lies _almost_ entirely in the naming, this complaint you have made would not exist if it was not called Modern warfare zombies. If it was a different name it would be completely fine. Just because it has the zombies in it does not mean it has to be *the* zombies experience. An example is Nightmares (whilst its not the best gamemode and is pretty shoddy with bad implementation) i think that if people weren't so hung up on the idea of zombies having to be roundbased like I was the mode would be received better. The gamemode itself is fun but because everyone expects it to be roundbased despite obviously knowing it wont be people think its a bad mode.
Bro I’ve been binging your channel after trying out MWZ and wanting to know all the juicy details. I was pleasantly surprised by the flow and feel of it. I’ve been a big fan of zombies since black ops 1….I remember playing with my older brother after getting it for my birthday in November of 2010. Round based is always going to have a place in my heart and I hope they remake the theater map in an upcoming update someday! What’s cool about MWZ is that it’s completely different than round based…but it’s allowed me and my brother to have nights like we used to way back in the day…zombies in any form is a place I like to be. Keep up the success man!
@@azteka6103 you wanna explain why you are so against the word “bro”? @@MrRoflWafflesIs it time for an IW Zombies retrospective yet? I’ve been really getting into it the past few weeks and appreciating the unique direction it took (even though community sentiment was pretty bad at the time) and it would be very interesting hearing your honest thoughts and breaking it down into different segments like you did in this video.
@@MrRoflWaffles honestly, I had some thinking time with this, and I’m not quite sure. As long as you’re passionate about it, I’m sure it’ll be interesting. Sorry I couldn’t give any proper ideas!
57:58 I’m about halfway through act 3 right now and I think the missions are a good method for teaching new players how the game works, since a lot of the missions are forcing you to use certain field upgrades, ammo mods, etc. I’m thinking (and hoping) that maybe the later seasons missions will have much more specific tasks to do. They also encourage completing different contracts and I think if they weren’t in place most people would immediately fall into the meta of do a cargo contract, do another cargo contract, do another one, just because it’s the fastest and easiest for getting points. And the other half are doing mainly the weapon stash and outlast to do camo grinds
One section I think you could have is wonder weapons. It’s ray gun and wunderwaffe returning then the new scorcher. And while it looks cool I feel like there’s no point in trying to get it. Like classic zombies and it’s Easter eggs would have a new wonder weapon and you would have to farm the mystery box to get the wonder weapon to do some weird step in the Easter egg. While in MWZ I don’t think you can call the missions an Easter egg but it is the main story, there is no point where you need to get any wonder weapon and use. Only at the end you extract with the wunderwaffe plans but you never use it. Even if they had a mission that was super hand holding that was kill 100 zombies with the scorcher or ray gun or wunderwaffe that would be an improvement. But as it stands now there is no point in getting them other than to have them and I haven’t even tried to go find them myself yet and I’m halfway through act 2. To your point with devils advocate and treyarch’s overall goal of getting new people, new players don’t want to sit at the box and farm the wonder weapons just to use it for the last 10 min and not get the challenge and have to do it again. That would push people away from completing the entire story, so I see why they didn’t. I just feel like that was always a key part of these wonder weapons and the story Easter eggs that made me want to go and get these new wonder weapons. As it stands right now I don’t have any desire to go find the scorcher and use it and that was a big miss. I do hope they change it in the upcoming seasons as well as what you have mentioned to make us care more about the story and the weapons and the environment and etc. Overall I don’t hate the game mode, but it’s not classic zombies by any means either. It does have a lot of potential tho and am excited to see where they take it this year
Me and my daughter never played dmz or warzone mode but this zombie mode was a little more relax and chill than the round base and my daughter like to drive around killing zombies 9/10 but I still miss the round zombie mode also, I wish they had both options
@@MrRoflWaffles I love this mode of zombies but I wish they could double the time, cause my main concern was the timer but after watching your video I see why is timed great video bro and thanks!!!😊
Even if it's an okay experience I am never purchasing another cod until a drastic change happens. There are so many other games that are worth my time than another yearly cod.
Going back and playing Cold War zombies is very weird for me lol. It feels like theyve been evolving zombies to this point on purpose. Like this is how Treyarch genuinely wants zombies to be
Idk they changed sm it happens after blundel left and bo4 something’s going on behind the scenes or it’s maybe just there are new devs that don’t understand how old zombies was which doesn’t make sense bc all they really need to do is listen to the community. Cold War was vary mid to me compared to old zombies and even bo4 it’s boring and to ez with no depth and a trash story and extremely mid maps the gameplay was good it was fun but that’s it
Mostly agree but that Audio Log take is a bit odd, story needs to be built out so the game feels like it has depth & that is supposed to make its way back into the level design. Still “I can’t tell you yet” doesn’t build out the story’s universe. Logs are supposed to give them a place to develop a deeper story for the purpose of it feeling like a coherent experience being driven by unchanging forces outside of your understanding (because the same story is being developed so it feels like each map has meaning & is a crucial part of some grand experience; MWZ feels like it doesn’t care if our operator is there or not despite the gameplay being fun when you stick together with your friends.
Don't doubt your creativity man! I absolutely love the different ways of thinking your videos address and how the breakdown makes you consider things most others wouldn't mention and it for me personally makes the breakdown more personal and immersive! Keep up the good work man, love the content as always 🙌
Definitely keep making these! I love just listening to these long zombies videos while I’m working. I appreciate it. Also totally agree with your opinion. As someone who got into zombies with Outbreak, I’m really enjoying this new mode. While I also enjoy round-based zombies as well, I prefer the more laid-back open world modes.
Same i like to listen while working. I enjoy mwz to be honest im in love with it. I stopped playing cod after 2019 so its pretty fresh to step into a new zombies experience for me imo.
That’s just not realistic, the old core audience who has mostly left now longs for the old style of map. Then you’ve got people that specifically like the outbreak type design on top of this new type of zombies which if we are honest is not what most people wanted. Sure it’s acceptable but the decline in player numbers says everything about how this cod as a whole is being viewed, zombies is just one facet of the issue.
@@allistairkumaran3582 ive come to acknowledge and recognize we arent gonna get traditional rbz every year, and that makes everything not feel like a total let down.. id consider myself an “old core fan” as i remember playing WaW campaign and getting horrified by Nacht- the rest was history. however i had a blast with outbreak (still prefer traditional) but i got 100% seasonal challenges, 100% intel, and dark aether. outbreak was pretty refreshing and fun, especially at the end of its development. with that being said, i was skeptical but went into MWZ open minded, and was blown away (still could use some work) but at the end of the year with more things added itll be awesome! also- player counts were the highest in outbreak zombies since a long long while. people ARE playing zombies- i just wish the community would at least try and make the best of what were given each year
@@natekaufman7746 While I agree and hope people are willing to at least give it a chance I think you are more mature then most of the cod community. I’m 30 so I know how the game goes, happens with bands and directors for movies. People/things change and most fans view it as a sleight instead of a genuine change of heart. Hope you enjoy your time with the new zombies format, I enjoyed the chat.
I personally love this mode. I’ve met a lot of cool people, very minimal toxic moments. I love that I can go in and do things the way I want or help people accomplish their goals.
I mean i love zombies as much as everyone else, but I think sledgehammer and infinite ward missed the mark piggybacking off treyarchs success with zombies. Imagine if they brought back extinction how good they could make that game mode on a open world dmz map. Extinction was a great mode held back by limitations and short development time, this style gamplay on a open world map would make sense since you exfil at the end of every extinction map anyways.
Missing the valuable items worth risking. Dying in tier 3 should mean something, high stakes extraction shooter gameplay is enjoyable but you need to be able to occasionally lose helpful items if you don’t extract with them for it to feel that way…so you can get that same round to round build-up feeling over a week or so & you have a reason to replay content.
I'd love to see more long-form content like this. I just think there's a huge limit to how much a person can convey about something like this in only 8-10 minutes
i appreciate the passion and thought you put into your videos so much man. been watching you since BO3 came out which feels like another lifetime ago, and it’s really nice to see that you, like me, still love those games and all the craft and heart that went into making COD zombies such a different counterculture to the mainstream game. makes me feel a little less insane for caring this much abt it all lol. PS: would love to hear more about the BOTD and alpha omega audio logs! i didn’t get the chance to play those maps
The nerf to exfils really hindered my enjoyment of the mode as it makes the map feel more empty. Even though generally speaking the horde of zombies were not truly a risk to fight it added to the zombirs feel where the later you are in a game the more zombies spawn or the harder they are. Im on act 3 but this change took away my motivation more than I thought it would despite it only being used to farm kills for the field upgrade challenges and the increased "risk" when leaving the game. Also somehow the servers got worse after the change made for "stability" though tonbe fair I haven't crashed once since the change but a crash was rare.
Instead of a timer for the outbreak to spread how about a timer for the world to get harder after the 1 hour level 3 gets infected by the outbreak and level 2 becomes level 3 and level 1 becomes level 2 and another timer starts for 45mim after it’s up the original level 2 area becomes infested with outbreak and the new level 2 becomes level 3 and a 30min timer starts but instead of outbreak forcing you to leave you just have to fight buffed level 3 enemies always and in order to leave after all the timers expire you have to fight a mega abomination buffed by stormcaller and have to kill the stormcaller too making you have to use the tier 3 pack and legendary rarity
So just wanted to pause at 03:36 and engage in your experiment and let you know my thoughts going into this video. Let's preface this with some context. I'm not a traditional zombies enjoyer, I am more of an MP kinda guy and up until recently I had no need to really follow you or MrDalekJD. Heck, I even asked reddit who I should be looking at for Zombies content and both of you were brought forward. So I am 100% new to both of your channels. That being said though, I've seen a handful of videos from both of you and I enjoy what you're putting down and I feel like I can place some degree of trust in your opinions, in the same way I trust the opinions of TheExclusiveAce and Espresso for the MP side of things. And one last piece of context; I have been playing MWZ myself quite a bit (more than MP actually) and I probably have a total of ~40 hours into MW3 now (including campaign and MP), of which 22 hours into zombies and 12 hours into MP. With that out of the way, let's get into the experiment. So am I getting into this video with a preconceived notion? Yes. Absolutely. I think you will be overall positive. The reason I think so is because I read your pinned comment already and because that's the impression I've gotten from you while watching your content. Does that mirror my own experiences? Absolutely it does. I personally love the MWZ mode. It's absolutely broken and flawed and there's a lot of issues that need work and in my opinion we absolutely could do with a more content / variation in content. But I feel the bones of this game mode are actually fantastic and I say this as someone who was very skeptical before launch, especially after the, let's face it, pretty bad campaign and the, for me, pretty bad beta (again, good bones but some major deal breaking issues that have luckily been mostly resolved for me but I didn't know that at the time). But now comes the question do I *want* you to feel a certain way about Zombies? No....but sort of yes? The way I want you to feel about MWZ is: However you really feel about MWZ. I don't really care if you hate it or love it or you have caveats or not. That's all entirely up to you. I have already formed my opinion and it's no skin off my back in either case. I'll keep playing it and enjoying it no matter what you say in this video. Do I think you're probably feeling the same way I do? Yes. The top comment said about as much and that's also the impression I've gotten so far. Would I care if you completely disagreed with me? Not at all. As a matter of fact, I would love to hear what your arguments are. Maybe there's discussion possible on some of those arguments and perhaps we can all learn something here. Hope that answers your experiment Milo, cheers for the content so far mate, you've been absolutely brill. Gonna go watch the rest of the viddy now!
Wait I'm really confused, it sounded like you implied in this vid that both MW3 and Vanguard were both developed by Treyarch but i thought that was IW and Sledgehammer respectively
To be honest. I am enjoying the mode, however I would enjoy it much more if I could launch into a map solo. I just don't like being around other players, having them interrupt my contracts or snipe the ones I'm going for. If we could launch outbreak solo, which is just infinite generating maps, why can't we launch the same map here solo. :\ I'd move it from a 6/10 to a 8/10 experience immediately if I could just. Play. Alone.
i believe the timer should remain, but should be extended, whilst the gas comes in earlier but it comes in from the outside, slowly bringing people into the tier 3 zone to work together to extract
but the problem with that (i feel) would be that it would just feel like a special version of warzone. i think the timer should be extended, but the storm should stay the same
It’s a cool idea to have the timer start from the outside and work it’s way towards the middle at the end of the match. I tend to play till the final exfil but its so lame to have to do missions in zone 1 at the end. Trying to final exfil in 3 would be wild and something extra to work for.
Hi. New time subscriber here. Keep up the awesome content, Milo. Hearing your opinion in depth like this IS something I would like to hear. If going into that much detail means an hour and a half long video, I’m here for it.
@@MrRoflWaffles absolutely! I’d rather have an in-depth review covering everything on why something does and doesn’t work than something half assed and won’t cover everything that a full analysis would.
These longer more in depth videos I truly love, hearing everything get broken down into categories helps me to keep my opinion open and just listen and it allows me to collect my own thoughts about it. Milo you are very well spoken and with these in depth videos it’s easier to understand it from a different point of view than my own. Ml About the radios, hearing the way the newer ones are structured it really seems like there more closed ended almost like statements which leaves very little room for curiosity and interest whereas the older ones were like here’s this thing that you know nothing about + very little information about said thing, but it truly is the structure and the way they wrote the old radios that made it more inviting and pulling you in and giving you so many more questions about what was really going on.
The biggest issue here is the lack of time and resources that has went into this mode. It all comes down to scope and how much quality Activision allows the devs to put into the mode. This same mode, with a bigger timer, more in depth loot system, upgrade system and zombies themed map would be the true evolution of this mode.
Yeah, the mode is way too easy and way too simple for it to function without the timer as is. The mode would also break if you kept PaP or Rarity after exfil. The problem is that for an extraction shooter I just don't care about exfiling with good guns. That just feels really bad. It is an extraction shooter where I am usually dreading the exfil more than the enemies.
It feels like ever since Bo4 Zombies has been going backwards in terms of innovation, storytelling and just overall enjoyment at least for me that is. I missed the days when every map had a unique aesthetic built in different mythologies and ancient historical landmarks. I yearn for the times when every map came with its own fully rendered cutscenes, full of our favorite characters doing the wacky shit in order to fulfill there goals. I so badly want to return to the times when the zombie storyline felt like a cohesive narrative that was both comprehensible, but also enjoyable to see through. It was an error or a really felt like Treyarch knew where they were going the overarching plot and we're just making shit up as they go. Sadly all things must come to the end and looks like the old Zombies that we all know and love has been lost to time. My only regret is how we only really realize that it was gone for good well after it already left...
Now don't get upset, but blame the lgbtq+ movement because once they got involved in the gaming scene and letting others join the dev team to be inclusive, all games like this went to shit.
People hate to hear it, but Chaos is still the most interesting/original idea for zombies since they came out in Bo4. Really cool maps, a pretty cool idea with the perk system that was split down the middle for fans. And I think the characters except for Shaw , were great. The story was getting good in ancient evil and now we'll never get to see that mythology again. Wasted potential
What I want to know is do new players themselves find any of the new experiences engaging? The newer players that didn't experience Dempsey etc. Are they engaged with these stories? Are we just too old now to appreciate games? This is what I want to know.
8:31 Ultimately the time to play isn’t so bad, but it’s the amount of points a player earns per match that makes that time feel so short. You spend most of your match doing contracts to get points since it’s the fastest way to get them, but if you do 8 contracts at 3k per contract completed, if you have no crystals you just burned half the match getting yourself to PaP 2. Honestly, just bumping up the points earned from zombie kills and contracts would mend a lot of complaints for set up and time spent enjoying the mode altogether
Please, please please, from the bottom of my zombies-obsessed heart, never stop making vids like this. We appreciate you being both honest and thorough.
More if these Milo! The story has potential but I won't hold my breath. I really hope they go back to a solid 4 cast instead of the operator system. I want a good story
I hope, now that Microsoft owns Acti-Blizz, we can get a Zombies mode that had the dark and gritty story-telling of WaW and BO1, and a mixture of gameplay elements and big maps from Black Ops 2 and 3, with customizable weapons and probs an improved Gobble-Gum system. We could even get Black Ops 4’s original campaign as well! MW3 2023 is a questionable bundle, but I think the multiplayer is still decent.
1:13:27 I think this is exactly right, I think the hope is to get new people interested in these crazy fights so that they come back for more challenging
Specifically referring to the problem of operators and operator skins in zombies: Imagine a system where they had the 4 core zombies playable characters, and for each one there was a release skin ("base" skin), and then from there you could opt to purchase skins to modify the characters appearances, but the characters stayed the same so they could play a meaningful part in the story. I mean, I can come up with a handful of ways to allow player expression in this way as well. For example, you could come out with a new free skin for each operator on the release of a new map (so each character has a "map themed" skin that fits with the environment of the map, if you want that), then if you complete the easter egg on a map you get a modified version of that map's skin that you can use. Hell, while we're at it why not split "skins" up into different aspects so you can put on different parts from different skins, too. Like I'm putting on this helmet from the Shadows of Evil map, but my pants are the easter egg pants for Shi No Numa, and my shirt is from a skin pack I bought. Then you can select which of the 4 zombies characters you want to play and each one has its own customized skin that you built from either "free" skins, unlockable skins, or purchased skins. But all the while the characters you play as can still have a meaningful impact on the story and have quotes actually relevant to what's going on, so you actually feel like you're IN the story, not just watching it.
@@MrKing-he3eothe whole point of the comment section, is for viewers to discuss the contents of the video…. So it is stupid that people go to bitch and moan in comments before even seeing Milo’s opinion because they just want to make eveyone feel like shit for liking a game

Something crossing my mind is what if there was no timer, and what if the world was always ongoing? The Cycle frontier was a Extraction-based shooter where the world was always on-going, where you could be in game seeing others land into the match or maybe you're the one landing into an on-going match. Within each match, a storm would come through giving you the choice to either exfil or stay, fighting through the storm and the increased difficulty creatures that spawned, or hide and wait the storm out. In the case of MWZ, Take away the timer, make these sessions on-going at all times, where you can see others entering the map or you're entering a already on-going session. The radiation is still a threat, however you are given the choice to exfil with what you've found, or stay in the session and either fight off the horde in the radiation or camp it out for 15m until the storm passes.
36:25 just got to the point where you ask for a comment about if I wanna watch these and yes, Milo. Yes I do. I really value your opinion and you're a better man than I'd be in considering your massive audience. Keep it up brother, you're doing great work 💪🏼😤
The hours of ranting from you are honestly my favorites. I love when I have long videos to watch because it's amazing to take in and get engaged with and it gives you a ton of room to talk about everything
I remember in blackops 1 after all the story we had to figure out and put together that after all the things our 4 man crew went through that they eventually ended up blowing up earth, that shock factor of standing there and watching the missles slowing going to earth was eerie, not only that but we had 2 years to sit on that and speculate where zombies was going from there and the amazing story telling they did from there on out was phenomenal... I really miss the days of old when zombies had that. Sure coldwar was lime a good 7.5/10 on my zombies ranking and you could tell it still had its identity, but with mwz I just feel like it's a stale version of dmz without the fun pvp aspect of it not only that but like milo said there's no charisma no zombies theme per say. It's all just warzone with slightly diffrent hues and old assets scowered across the map. It's sad really, I miss the aesthetic of zombies I miss the comradery and good times in zombies it just feels so hollow now, sure mwz is better than vanguard but what does that really say? It's like comparing a pile of shit to another pile of shit and ones just less stinky than the other :/ I was 12 when i played nacht for the first time, I'm 28 now and I've seen a lot and I just hope the younger generation knows there's been better and we can all strive for a better experience moving forward
When you were talking about the flaws of the operator system I had a thought. Imagine if the Cold War had a permanent crew was just Woods, Mason, Hudson and then maybe one of the Cold War characters like Adler
Giant life bar on the Boss, makes it not scary. As soon as i saw the Wonder Waff killing it quickly, it made ot not scary qt all. Health bars just block everything, and get in the way, also making bosses not scary.
One thing I really wanted to do was to find the table with the four cold War zombies crew we saw in the trailer I wanted to find it and see if there's anything there story wise but no where to be seen 😭
TLDR: it's a buy! But it's complicated (as everything is in zombies lol)
can you do a video on guns that have ammo mods already on them like the M4 soul harvest on it
I want Milo to dislike Sbmm (skill based match making) lol
You’re just saying it’s a buy because activision has you on pay roll. And if you speak too negative your partnership will be canceled.

Can we just get a full $70 call of duty zombies game. Every map remastered & every season we get one new round based map & one new outbreak/mw3 style mode or map
With Elden ring style bosses and quests
Maybe do every other season so each new round based/outbreak style is as good as it can be.
As in round based then outbreak then back to round based.

And it makes those cooldowns seem less punishing.
I'd be happy with as little as an extra 15 minutes!

What do y'all think?
honestly, pretty clever
Dat sounds sik af. Let me make some phone calls and make it happen
I thought this was how it was ginna happen. Thought the gas took over one zone at a time then there was a final exfill at zone 3

Regular players won’t survive. Everyone gonna die at exfil 😂
Honestly how do you and some of the other big Zombies channels not have a collaborative podcast yet? A zombies themed podcast where you spend an hour or so going through all the aspects of zombies, news on zombies and reminiscing on the old maps would honestly be great to listen to.

35:49 I'm glad you do the longer videos. I think it's better to get the full thought across rather than just a few key points.
Great idea
It might in dmz when you enter place like the bunker it reset it so maybe
SERIOUSLY!!!!!!
this is happening exactly
We are not even at season 1... we will get plenty of content for 6 seasons look how dmz started and is now at season 6.
My biggest problem is the lack of zombies and the time limit
Ever since the patch, in all tiers, I've been having to run around to look for zombies and it's really tedious but I swear pre patch no matter where I went there was lots of zombies
i feel like the map is too big. back in older games, tight corrodors made a small amount of zombies seem much larger and threatening. But when you have giant spaces you can dodge them and go around way to easy
@@mirrorcube3709 go to tier 3 and you can get all the close quarter fights u want

Ya that’s the problem I have with this, constantly having to leave kindve annoys me. Like I want to put the work in tier one and two to make it to tier three

Keep up the good work
37:03 YES! Bring back videos diving into radio transmissions from older games/maps!
Oh and most importantly, let me bloody decide how long I get to play for!!!
this
I was thinking a longer game with the zones spreading before the storm spreads. 1.5-2hr games, at 30min zone 2 spreads and eliminates zone 1, at 1 hr zone 3 spreads to cover the map and at 1h30m the storm spreads forcing exfil.
That's a really good idea
I got some thoughts
1.remove the timer but as time goes on make each higher tier grow like tier 2 will encompass zone 1 then zone 3 will encompass all of the map.
36:00
yes bro i do actually wanna watch these longer videos. really appreciate all the passion and effort in the stuff you say and the videos you make
Some of my favorite radios are actually on Die Rise.
Strong disagree.
Disagree. This actually makes it feel like it's ''real'' in the universe. If this wasn't the case, you'd be wondering why the team that can seemingly achieve anything in campaign isn't called on a threat like this.
It's not zombies bro chill out, wait till next year.
That’s not a problem though, this isn’t black ops, it shouldn’t be roundbased, I was fully expecting mwz not to be round based and for what I expected I was pleasantly surprised and have been enjoying it, again, I don’t enjoy it over round based but it isn’t round based, it’s a separate thing, like extinction, you can like extinction AND black ops round based and it’s the same here, I like this open world contract rouge lite mode while also loving round based
I think it’s amazing they went this direction because we need more than just round based, look what happens when everyone tries it (Vangaurd) (Cold War since it wasn’t originally black ops) they end up like ass, if a non black ops tried making zombies, it should be their own idea like this exept of course with their own verison of pap and perks and the box
All this mode needs is a true private/solo mode AND a timer increase. I’d have so much more fun if I had more time to progress and explore.

Cold War was vary mid to me compared to old zombies and even bo4 it’s boring and to ez with no depth and a trash story and extremely mid maps the gameplay was good it was fun but that’s it
@@iLoveMiIfs 'it was fun but that's it' is a terrible argument for something being bad.
@@RySLz wym?

Also totally agree with your opinion. As someone who got into zombies with Outbreak, I’m really enjoying this new mode. While I also enjoy round-based zombies as well, I prefer the more laid-back open world modes.
I very much enjoy Outbreak mode, but greatly dislike this DMZombies shit 👎
Same i like to listen while working. I enjoy mwz to be honest im in love with it. I stopped playing cod after 2019 so its pretty fresh to step into a new zombies experience for me imo.
3:48 i want everyone to have fun and enjoy zombies, so over the overly negative and toxic discourse around something i hold so close to my heart
Stole the words right out of me bud ❤
@@allistairkumaran3582 likewise, friend 🧟♂️
I personally love this mode. I’ve met a lot of cool people, very minimal toxic moments. I love that I can go in and do things the way I want or help people accomplish their goals.
Same here. Hell, I have runs where I got stuff I didn’t in the red zones so I give it away to others.
All of your videos on it have been great, keep it up plz
You can tell the passion you have behind the zombies sub-franchise. Great video, love tuning it every week 🤝
Milo I enjoy the hell out of these videos never stop being you
So just wanted to pause at 03:36 and engage in your experiment and let you know my thoughts going into this video.
Soooo glad you got first in the World. All the years of work. Well deserved. All the Love Milo 🤜🤛
Play. Alone.
I think they should keep the timer, but extended time to 90 minutes before the storm starts to move in
Thank you for making these long videos. I love that you create a space for the community to come and talk/speculate about the mode!
I love these types of videos. I watch/listen to them over driving to work, walking my dog, showering, and cooking. Thank you for the genius inputs.
I personally love this style of video and would even love to see you go back on franchises you like and just see unfiltered Roflwaffles!
i believe the timer should remain, but should be extended, whilst the gas comes in earlier but it comes in from the outside, slowly bringing people into the tier 3 zone to work together to extract
but the problem with that (i feel) would be that it would just feel like a special version of warzone. i think the timer should be extended, but the storm should stay the same
It’s a cool idea to have the timer start from the outside and work it’s way towards the middle at the end of the match.
If going into that much detail means an hour and a half long video, I’m here for it.
thank you so much for the feedback!! 🙌🙌
@@MrRoflWaffles absolutely! I’d rather have an in-depth review covering everything on why something does and doesn’t work than something half assed and won’t cover everything that a full analysis would.
I enjoy the long format videos.
These longer more in depth videos I truly love, hearing everything get broken down into categories helps me to keep my opinion open and just listen and it allows me to collect my own thoughts about it. Milo you are very well spoken and with these in depth videos it’s easier to understand it from a different point of view than my own.

About the radios, hearing the way the newer ones are structured it really seems like there more closed ended almost like statements which leaves very little room for curiosity and interest whereas the older ones were like here’s this thing that you know nothing about + very little information about said thing, but it truly is the structure and the way they wrote the old radios that made it more inviting and pulling you in and giving you so many more questions about what was really going on.
The timer keeps the replayability. Without it it would get stale really quickly
Jason blundell left the company, the main zombies man from all the cods, once he was gone it was game over completely
@@apenation100k4 what the fuck are you talking about
What I want to know is do new players themselves find any of the new experiences engaging?
The mode was so fun but reducing the amount of zombies that spawn has really hurt the mode for me. It makes it feel so boring sometimes
get into T3 then
Glad you're back making so much content Milo, hope you're doing okay!?
I highly appreciate all the time you take for us viewers. You are a true hero for the whole zombies community ❤️
i love these videos so, be afffirmed! Also id love a video about the blood of the dead radios, you seemed so captured by them, mysterious!
We do actually watch them all 100% lol 35:45 never stop
We can only hope
@@zacharyortopan5645for now, I’m sure if we make enough noise, we can make the magic happen.
Most fun I’ve had with zombies in awhile
The problem isn't necessarily that it's not enjoyable for certain people, the issue is how this just simply is not Zombies at all, from it's round base game flow to its very foundational mechanics, MW3 Zombies is inherently different from everything that made it popular in the first place.
And while game franchises should be allowed be innovate and experiment, when you advertised this to long-term fans, there comes a certain expectation you must meet and this is definitely not it.
@@SSJ_EWGF that’s very fair
1:13:27 I think this is exactly right, I think the hope is to get new people interested in these crazy fights so that they come back for more challenging
Specifically referring to the problem of operators and operator skins in zombies:
Imagine a system where they had the 4 core zombies playable characters, and for each one there was a release skin ("base" skin), and then from there you could opt to purchase skins to modify the characters appearances, but the characters stayed the same so they could play a meaningful part in the story.
Lol nobody even watches the video before commenting opinions anymore, wild
You don't necessarily need to if you saw gameplay let alone played it. Plus this video is over an hour lol
@MrKing-he3eo thats what im saying lol its all "first!" and who can get a ton of likes on their comment first
@@MrKing-he3eothe whole point of the comment section, is for viewers to discuss the contents of the video…. So it is stupid that people go to bitch and moan in comments before even seeing Milo’s opinion because they just want to make eveyone feel like shit for liking a game
@@TacticalLoser Never said that they shouldn't discuss. I was just saying you can comment as long as you played the game/watched enough and can give constructive crititsm on it or say what you liked or disliked instead of saying "L" or "mid"
This video has really aged badly 💀
how so?
36:00 i may speak for only myself but i love your video essays and how you present yourself in longer format ❤
"If you go into this COD zombies game mode but dont expect anything from a COD zombies game mode, then youll have a great time!"
Keep it up brother, you're doing great work 💪🏼😤
Love the fact Kermit is chilling in the background
The hours of ranting from you are honestly my favorites. I love when I have long videos to watch because it's amazing to take in and get engaged with and it gives you a ton of room to talk about everything
I do actually want to watch this. Long form is good, you do the format well :-)
I like these long rants. I have questions and ideas I ponder and wonder if the community and the makers take in this intel.
Couldn’t agree more
Hour long rants about media IP’s that I’m passionate about keep me going through my day at work. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MILO!!
When you were talking about the flaws of the operator system I had a thought.
Imagine if the Cold War had a permanent crew was just Woods, Mason, Hudson and then maybe one of the Cold War characters like Adler
2:30 bro sounds like he's about to tell me im racist without realizing it
Giant life bar on the Boss, makes it not scary.
