I'm so torn because I love Princess and the Fog too. But this just didn't make the cut for me. Facilier needed to be in it to give some sort of suspense. He would have been an amazing animatronic. And his voodoo style. That song "Are you Ready" when they are being transformed in his voodoo room. That music as you go up the final drop with the bright neon colors and voodoo creatures would have been amazing. And they could use blacklight to make it neon on the way down! So much they could have done. So disappointing.
Exactly! It's a thrill ride with drops too big for most little kids, so I don't understand why they didn't include more tension or some darker elements. It's defiantly a pretty ride, but the story seems better suited for an attraction in fantasyland geared at all ages.

Disney is so cheap that they added a shrinking gimmick as an excuse to not build animatronics for the leadup to the drop. Gigantic faces projected onto the wall, who thought this was a good idea? Atrocious. This is what became of what was easily the best ride in the park.
This is the result of a group of people who were more excited to destroy Splash Mountain then to provide the audience with an engaging let alone coherent story. The music is boring. Most of the attraction is lifeless. Aside from Tiana, Odie, and Louis, the animatronics are lifeless husks who simply rock back and forth that make the Chuck E Cheese animatronics seem masterclass. This might be okay for a lesser park but this is Disney and Splash Mountain was one of three crown jewels that included Haunted Mansion and Pirates. This has nothing to do with The Frog Princess other than having characters from it. Fail.
The music is not boring if you’re a fan of the original Princess and the Frog movie. It’s a really good movie I encourage you to watch it if you haven’t.
@@MichaelJacksonRobloxGaming I watched it and loved it. Once again, this ride has nothing to do with that movie other than a few characters making an appearance.
@@CarolCityCane305 Making a sequel doesn’t mean you remove the cores of the original story. Dr. Facilier is probably one of the best villains in Disney history and given his ties to the occult and his “friends on the other side”, he could have easily been made part of the attraction. Messing around with voodoo was the heart and soul of Princess and the Frog and would have made for an exciting attraction. Beauty with a sprinkling of creepy. Fans of that movie expect to see that even in a sequel. Just as fans of Alien expect to see a creature pop out of someone’s chest and fans of A Nightmare on Elm Street expect to see Freddy in the sequels to these franchises.
I don’t think this is the GREATEST fail yet. I hate to say this because i know the imagineers worked very hard, but Wish was one of their greatest fails yet. It was short, quirky and it looks like something that would stream on Disney Jr. But not all hope is lost. I have faith for the sequel to Inside Out, and i think The Rise of Red looks really good. Sure, it might not have the same cast, but I am willing to give these newbies a chance.
Honestly, I'd like them to just cancel the opening date start over. I really liked the movie, but this just seemed disconnected from even that. After seeing this video I have no desire to ever ride it.
Now that I’ve seen the full ride through, which I have been waiting for months, this is exactly what I knew was going to happen. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is 100% the inferior version, and it has nothing to do with Tiana.
Nothing at all to do with tiana. The animatronics are impressive but the story line is dull, the screens are lazy and it just seems to lack heart. Im pretty disappointed and kind of knew I would be, however, when I saw the animatronics originally - I had hope. We shall see whats like in person…
The attraction was inspired by politics more than by creativity. Beyond ideology, the ride is conceptually clumsy (story, etc) & artistically uninspiring (widescreens, etc)
THIS IS AWFUL! WHERE THE HELL IS THE MAGIC???? UGH JUST SO BORING!!! YOUR SO GREAT AT KILLING ALL THE FUN RIDES AND ALL THE MAGIC!!!! SLASH MOUNTAIN WAS EPIC! NOTHING LIKE IT IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!
I’ve never seen so many scenes with Mama Odie in it until this ride. Not even the movie showed her millions of times… there’s no way this project was worth the wait 😩 it had potential for so much more!
Who are these “imagineers?” This was so damn basic and has 0 story.. I would be so embarrassed if THIS is all I could come up with… (former splash CM and scenic painter for Disney) ….it is colorful and animatronics are amazing.. but it fell short sadly
@@juliapaiva.643 and that started when disney way back decided to cancel that fantasy expansion to animal kingdom thats around the time eisner went insane (because of wells dying) and universal basicly said come to us we gift yall unlimited money and resources and make us the best themed lands and as of now they are still doing that ;p
So much darkness....lots of empty dark space..,.how is this better???? Where are the friends from the other side???? I will not wait 3 to 4 hours for this. Not happening.
What is this ride??! There is no conflict or storyline, not very many animatronics with good movement, tons of area with nothing going on, and may I mention again NO STORYLINE. Splash mountain was built nearly 35 years ago and was LEAGUES ahead of whatever this is. This is not Disney quality and whoever was in charge of this doesn’t deserve to be in imagineering.
Nah they could fix this simply by adding falcifer. I've seen greath suggestion with minimal change. Like hest the one shrinking you down and make that part with more tension. Jsut replace the last tiana before by him. Also better music.
journey into your imagination was worse in my opinion. But, yes this is isn’t great either. However, I feel like this ride can easily be modified to be better. I don’t see splash mountain returning unlike figment.
huge downgrade, soundtracks mostly bad, messy plot, anticlimactic drop, dark and dull a lot of the time. the ride only looks good in the scenes you can actually somewhat see.
Messy plot? There is no plot. "Going to the party" is not a plot. That's a singular story beat. How did they base this on PatF and then use NONE of it? Yikes, they done fucked this one up.
Bob Iger was right, this is boring. Splash mountain there was new stuff every turn, this looks like they didn’t what to do so they just put a bunch of trees. Splash mountain will always be better
Despite the "lack" of animatronics, I thought putting the "Almost there" theme towards the end of the ride was a nice touch, like "you're ALMOST at the end of the ride"
It's pretty garbage. Literally the main highlight of Princess and the Frog is the villain, and he's left out. Princess and the Frog was already a poor choice as the theme, and then they didn't even make use of it's best aspects. Sad that Splash Mountain died for this.
This is why I will always be pro Disneyland Japan. They refuse to touch any of the classics and are owned by different management. Not to mention it’s cheaper and they actually value visitors experience
I feel really disappointed it doesn’t have the shadow man at the big drop. The “are you ready” song going up the lift hill is a big miss. Imagine the base bump going up that thing.
this comment, and another comparing it to peter pan, are exactly what I have been saying when i first heard about the story and the number of animatronics.

I've seen he having divergent opinions from the general audience, but never denying facts. This is really bad! Can't wait to ride that awesome new Donkey Kong coaster over at the new and exciting Epic Universe. As for this new snooze fest wake me up when it's over.
I was very "close" with Brer Bear back in the day and this location is very near and dear to my heart. As Walt once said "As long as there's imagination left in the world, Disneyland will never be complete." I believe this also goes for WDW. I do understand it was time to bring in a new attraction, but that attraction needs to be better than the one before. I knew every inch of Splash and it was all filled with excitement around every corner. I watched another POV prior to this one and both have confirmed there are a few characters placed here and there with a lot of dark areas. To me that seems like they really didn't have anything to fill an area with and kind of shows their thinking is if you make it dark and put in one or two thing to focus on nobody will notice the empty space, but sorry I did. Where the laughing place was, ummmm yea it seems like a wasted space with just videos. Splashes ending was bigger and brighter with the showboat, I understand this is a totally different movie but if that is all they could come up with then it is kind of sad. I really hope it wins over the hearts of the Splash lovers and is successful, but as of right now it has not won mine.
It is a dark ride in water. I like the idea of being shrunk then grown. But it is a stark contrast from the beautiful color of Splash Moutain. And the finale melody has to go.
Actually if you watch any of the side by sides, Tiana's is wayy more colorful. I was surprised to see how dull the coloring was in splash with the comparison. Also didn't realize how flat the props looked.
Great POV by the way!! Better than official Disney!!! 😂 Much as I'd love to embrace this new ride ... and despite incredible music, animatronics and effects.... it seems a fraction of what once was.
this is just sad. i didnt want them to get rid of splash mountain for this exact reason. disney doing all their rides so dirty. bet the wait time is 3+ hours as well. this just hurts to see. i hope everyone tells staff and management how lackluster and boring this is. they made a mistake by taking out one of the most well known rides there. it makes me scared for what theyre going to do with my ultimate fave: the Haunted Mansion

@@Behinddarkness86no shit the ride was meant to be after the movie
Can't wait for them to tear down Space Mountain for whatever BlackRock is pushing today.
Disney has been making lots of bad decisions lately... this has to be one of their greatest fails yet.
You would have to be joking to say they worked
Bro the OG splash mountain was 1,000,000,000% better.
Yes, it was, so was the OG Pirates of the Carribean.
Honestly, I'd like them to just cancel the opening date start over. I really liked the movie, but this just seemed disconnected from even that. After seeing this video I have no desire to ever ride it.
Epic universe will blow this out of water literally
yes i agree
Not politics, greed. They keep cutting corners since galaxy’s edge
@@Perpetual_Kid No. It was politics. Their stated reasons for the change made that very clear. And the results make it even clearer.
When they first announced it and said "it's a celebration after the movie" I was like oh no it's going to be the exact same ride as Frozen at Epcot.
Disney really went, “Yep, let’s ruin everyone’s childhood.”
A visually stunning ride, but I’m surprised they didn’t try to create more of a narrative. A ride is a journey and journeys need conflict.
Especially before the drop
Even Jungle Cruise has the murderous hippos
Disney thinks today's kids are too sensitive to handle conflict and anything remotely frightening
Have those Three Frog Hunters show up as antagonists.
@@sabrinamiller3671 Could be. Even the original Snow White was worse than this.

because of George Floyd.
because of BLM, and politics

Who are these “imagineers?” This was so damn basic and has 0 story.. I would be so embarrassed if THIS is all I could come up with… (former splash CM and scenic painter for Disney) ….it is colorful and animatronics are amazing.. but it fell short sadly

I don't think Disney could make more of a downgrade if they actually tried. Half assed and lackluster would be the first things that come to mind 😎
You know what this ride really needs? Those three hillbilly hunters showing up as the main villains.
Yeah, I wish those guys were there!
I was thinking Dr. Facilie’s “friends” should at least make an appearance.
@@rochestasI agree
that's actually a great idea!!!!
It needs Brer Bear to show up and toss Tiana into the briar patch... and bring back Splash Mountain!
This is basically Journey Into Your Imagination all over again
Perfect comment!
It’s not nearly that bad. This is infinitely more fixable imo
Are we gonna get Eric Idle as the man in the moon?
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ❌ Tiana’s Boring Adventure ✅
😂
why is this better than disney’s pov
EXACTLY
Disneys had too many cuts
Literally my first thought after watching
true
Now any point of view is better than Disney's 🥲🥲🤭
The avatar boat ride is more impressive than this.
Oh that singing 🫣😭”annnaya”
huge downgrade, soundtracks mostly bad, messy plot, anticlimactic drop, dark and dull a lot of the time. the ride only looks good in the scenes you can actually somewhat see.
Remember, this is a video, not real life. So it could be different?
Ok never mind this ride kinda sucks
Messy plot? There is no plot.
"Going to the party" is not a plot. That's a singular story beat.
How did they base this on PatF and then use NONE of it? Yikes, they done fucked this one up.
Saying there's a plot is generous 😂
Thank you for this just saved me a couple hundred bucks, how pathetic, my Disney day are over
Bob Iger was right, this is boring. Splash mountain there was new stuff every turn, this looks like they didn’t what to do so they just put a bunch of trees. Splash mountain will always be better
Hey Bob Iger. Please bring Winx Club under Disney
Where are you finding that Bob said this ride was boring?
"Oh, please God, somebody just throw me in the damn briar patch!!!"
Despite the "lack" of animatronics, I thought putting the "Almost there" theme towards the end of the ride was a nice touch, like "you're ALMOST at the end of the ride"
Almost there ti the end of this incredibly bring ride!
It’s definitely not a zipity do da kind of day
It's pretty garbage. Literally the main highlight of Princess and the Frog is the villain, and he's left out. Princess and the Frog was already a poor choice as the theme, and then they didn't even make use of it's best aspects. Sad that Splash Mountain died for this.
Let’s just hope that splash is in a “coma” and will be revived somewhere down the road.
this ride sucks so bad
This is why I will always be pro Disneyland Japan. They refuse to touch any of the classics and are owned by different management. Not to mention it’s cheaper and they actually value visitors experience
Even if they didn't destroy Splash Mountain to make this and it were just a new ride, it looks like a big Meh.... :(
yes i agree this ride sucks🤬
CTRL + Z this whole project, Disney. Downgrade.
Wish the ride had more of a story, missed opportunity to not have the villian be here
I would have picture the Three Hillbilly hunters as the main villains.
This is awful. Disney Imagineering should be embarrassed. This ride makes E.T. At Universal look exciting.
E.T. is better this gabge😠
How dare you comparing E.T with this trash ? E.T is a classic masterpiece.
Once the novelty of the redo wears off, I predict not so long lines for this.
I don’t. People will be riding it to cool off
This ride looks absolutely horrible! Great work Disney!
I feel really disappointed it doesn’t have the shadow man at the big drop. The “are you ready” song going up the lift hill is a big miss. Imagine the base bump going up that thing.
A PatF retheme had SO much potential...that went absolutely nowhere.
this comment, and another comparing it to peter pan, are exactly what I have been saying when i first heard about the story and the number of animatronics.
Most people visited Disney to ride "Splash Mountain" one time in their lives... Now it´s gone... So sad!
Offhand Disney made a great video about how TBA would be a make-or-break for Disney parks. He was right, and it's a breaking point
OHD vids are toxic optimism. He is never highly critical he just sucks up and keeps being a disney fanboy. Like when is he going to realize that disney is mediocre and not as good as the early 2000s and before
@@notlegitkoolaid4911 I mean, I don't judge him. The purpose of his channel is to try to preserve the original feeling people should have when visiting Disney. He, more than anybody, knows right how Disney parks had downgraded, and although he tries to stay aways from harsh criticism, I've never seen he denying this as a fact. I've seen he having divergent opinions from the general audience, but never denying facts. It would be totally condraditory if Dallin started criticizing Disney in every video instead of focusing on the good aspects of the parks, the same way it would be contraditory if Poseidon Entertainment started praising current Disney management instead of bringing some criticism to it
@@notlegitkoolaid4911I thought that at first too, but he’s actually VERY critical a lot of the time, and much more critical about their movie lineup than their park lineup. It’s not toxic optimism, it’s just his genuine thoughts, which I would prefer to lying any day
Why does it matter? The entire park was made for children.
@@markh9910No it wasn’t. It was made for families. That’s a crucial distinction. And even children have a pretty good gauge for quality. People act like children’s media doesn’t need to be good, but it’s just as, if not more important
This is what I was worried about, they took out the peril.
The drop portion towards the end could of really of used the shadow man
This is supposed to be a sequel to the movie and Doctor Facilier died at the end of the movie so that wouldn’t really work out :/
So did the firefly and he’s here
The “are you ready” would be a nice build up.
Dr. Facilier’s absence is definitely what hurts at least if he was in the ride he could get a plot line going.
This is really sad. Splash mountain was so much better. There seems to be no story here.
splash mountain is better then this gabge
The big drop would have been a great time for The Shadow man to show up.
Wow this ride is mediocre as hell. I had a feeling Disney would fail. Just not This miserably. The last decent thing they did was Rise of the Resistance and even that ride has been made worst than when it first opened due to lazy maintenance.
The ride should be named: Tiana takes over Splash Mountain…
Sorry, Disney. No Splash, no cash.

I'll be joining you on the snooze. Can you pass me a pillow?
Despite the negative comments, these animatronics are actually mind-blowingly fluid. I am really impressed by the engineering on these.
I really hope it wins over the hearts of the Splash lovers and is successful, but as of right now it has not won mine.
this ride sucks🤬
There are too many spots in the ride where nothing is going on
The villain man would at least make it a little more interesting to have him try to kidnap the passengers or something
@@kpov2533Yeah, and if you watch the side by side again, you’ll see that in splash youre not sitting in the dark half the time
