Thousands upon thousands of elephants struggle through a dust-laden, apocalyptic landscape. Whirlwinds of sand a thousand feet high whip the desiccated moonscape. It is a journey that some will never complete. This is a story of vision, struggle, hope and one man's dream to bring freedom to over a hundred thousand beleaguered African elephants.

that's just depressing, hard not to intervene when people's actions lead to the very situations these animals find themselves in
Hdhev my phone was me just use phone earlier when🍔🍟
I've never seen an elephant this emaciated.
In Kenya, solutions to this kind of barrier has been found by creating a passage for the elephants in accordance with the farmers.
Poor thing, it's been through so much
Poor baby 🐘. too tired and thin to endure the journey....so sad😢 to see it nearly giving up
i agree with him, usually nature you leave alone, but if man caused this, then I think its ok man should help. Give the poor baby some water.
Do you know how much they drink?
So we are not nature? 😂 enough of this shit already. Everything on this earth is nature including human.

so heartbreaking and sad. I hope that someone can go out of there way to get these elephants what they need.
When you think how tough your life is. Think of them. 😇
Sad😣😢😭😢😭😢😭😢Thank U for trying to HELP😇💝🐘xxx🐘💘
That was almost overwhelming for me to watch. To be there and see the suffering in Person so many different times and in many different ways MUST BE SO HARD
Kenya is leading the world in conservation. I lived there for several years and KWS and the government are taking steps to help. It is the responsibility of Governments to take steps to ensure the conservation of wildlife we cannot as a species continue to ignore encroachment, poaching, and the destruction of flora and fauna. We create the problems now we have to help well done this guy.
Wa, poor baby elephant has to go through a such hardship in its childhood.
The stupidity and greed of the human animal knows no bounds!
@michael wittmann well ok but the "non whites" as stated by you may have a high population but the "whites" (as stated by you) have much greater greed and the American and European countries cause much more of deforestation and pollution than the so called non white countries and please don't make racist or non secular comments that is just rude
Lonewolf totally agreed we need to do something big for the planet
I mean... The elephants probably could have just gone around lol
@@EnviedShadow ---
What part of the following statement did you not understand?
"These elephants are simply trying to get beyond the farm, using an age-old route deeply ingrained in their memory, which is now blocked by expanding human settlement."
They are guided by instinct and memory, so "going around" is not a simple task for them. They do not have human intellect and functionality! DUH!
😢😢, They need to figure an overpass or tunnel into the planning of new construction, so the Ele's can get through, or build a fountain, or pool that can be filled with water, just to help them along 💔🐘🐘🐘💞😥.
Agree.
Pools dry up. That's why that land is so dry.
@@Raison_d-etre Very sad! Human have destroyed the nature.
Cant tell if youre trolling or just dreaming...
Well done sir! We have to intervene
Every documentary, film, saying "The future of nature, animals, planet is in our hands", yet when the crew sees a poor animal in imminent risk of dying, they do nothing because of the stupid rule of non-intervention. Why? If he had given water of food to the little elephant, even when we are at risk of extinction, he could have saved a life.
Mérida Zenteno That’s seriously a really excellent point. It does seem super hypocritical. They need the sad moments for entertainment value. To guilt us. But 5,000 animal documentaries later, it’s obvious guilt trips don’t work. We are all suffering from ADD thanks to technology. Nothing lasts longer than 5 minutes anymore. We watch a sad animal death, we feel upset for a few, then we watch tv or go on Twitter and forget all about it.
Bravo! I salute you for intervening. Most would've let the lil elephant die. I thank you again!
No, I don't think anyone except hunters would let that guy die, but it is still a big risk to get near a young elephant when its mother is nearby
These things are really disturbing😔
Amen amen amen for the last phrase...its in our hands

I want to save animals
That's it
Go vegan ? ;)
this is so sad..
Man only think of self it's totally not fair that animals have to pay the price because humans is building every where not thinking of anything else I would them people behind bars and keep them their.
They can't interrupt what the animals are doing. If you truly want to learn about an animal such as behavior. You can't interrupt their life.
Are you going to put you and your family and friends behind bars too to protect the animals in your country?
Can't watch this till the end. Why can't we stop expanding ?! :(
Because we are the apex creatures and we have power ?
Good question,madding

Animals and humans are interdépendant, once too many animals would have been eradicated from the earth, humans will be next. Watching their death is watching ours as well
Tudo o que o SENHOR DEUS criou é perfeito esses elefantes são animais fantásticos
grandest
I hope he moved along 😭
Fences shouldnt be allowed on these routes, these routes have to be protected by international law 😢
I would say in all fairness man has no way of knowing ancient trails. But.... Once they do they have responsibility to make a way for them
The people living on these routes are poor subsistence farmers who need to eat. That would be a tough sell.
Awwwww 😭😭😞

Didn't you have a water bottle on you or smthing? I think it needed water probably
It’s pretty risk i mean the mom is gonna get angry if you get close to her baby

Good job humans. :(
People should simply not build on ancient elephant paths. Leave them safe passage. Build around them but DO NOT BLOCK THEM. I really wish people would think this way.
Quem não fica emocionado com esta atribulada corrida?? O Stress que atinge esta espécie ...porque pressentem o perigo ...mortos por chegar a casa numa corrida alucinante e as crias exaustas param ..as forças faltam ...parar é morrer!! Instead of making these long and dangerous journeys, why wouldn't these elephants just stay where the food and water source is?
Excellent Video. 🇮🇳
Water holes ?
All gone cus of desertification

Please tell the concern govt
I don't think the government would really care, if they would they would already help them... :p I guess we can only count on animal help organisation..
Poor thing. Survival training boot camp
Why don’t we just feed them? I mean if we are the cause of their struggles, why not help?

Hello World Ay country Nam ki Atho Elephant
I am not sure human are worth the planet they live on.
If the future of elephants are in our hands... say goodbye to this species and enjoy them while they are here.
Elephants expect noting from humans
There is no thank u button for donation
I wish we die .... This saddens me.... How can we just not think of anything else on earth but us..
those farms "on the way: could be paid to produce food for the elephants.
This is so sad :(
Exactly the humane thing to do.
I always am on the side of nature. But these elephants are struggling directly because of human encroachment.
So a little nudge is bending the rules. So what? Had those farms and farmers with guns not been there, all this would have been unnecessary to begin with.
I wish these farmers could just get together with the aid of someone and build an expressway so elephants can travel through farms so they can just go on their way without having to damage crops.
Wasnt that the guy from the other video that was sugesting to "control" the elephant population?
Chris Corona I’m not sure about this specific situation....but you do realize population control is necessary in a lot of cases?
Struggle is a part of life so keep trying get and get them. 🙂🙂🙂

Make elephant migration routes off limits.
The "non-intervention" unwritten rule is absolutely nonsense. Giving water or food to an agonizing animal isn’t the same as helping a prey out of a lion’s teeth, which would compromise the life of the lion anyways.
You're wrong. Giving an animal food or water IS taking food out of another animal's mouth. Active predators aren't the only animals out in the wild looking for food. There are COUNTLESS scavengers who rely on the death, whether it be from starvation or dehydration, of other animals. The ONLY time a human should intervene, is when an animal is stuck in a trap or snare that's been laid down by other humans. People have NO BUSINESS giving a wild animal food or water. It only upsets there balance of nature.

Tourism in Africa is a flourishing industry that supports more than 21 million jobs, or 1 in 14 jobs, on thecontinent. No elephants no money. Perhaps, they would like warlords to take care of the land.
I think it's disgusting how the people are encroaching on the animals domain. The people should go live somewhere else and give the animals back their homes their livelihood and their life. Cuz the animals get too close to the people's homes then they get shot and killed, that's not fair it was the animals home first
Thus is our fault
Lions needs food too🤷🏻♂️so don’t worry about
Why in the comments why do people want to just kill each other tor just die? That’s not going to solve the problem
Help them why be neutral are duty is to save them . There are no innocent bystanders... Why not understand to open their road through.. they won’t harm the crops just go through
@@adpirtle Elephants do not like bees, so farmers should be given hives to put near their crops so the elephants will stay away.
Enough with 'I don't interfere shit, please'. There's a difference between helping an animal out and between doing something that seriously imbalances the ecosystem.

Instead of shooing the baby elephant away, give him some damn water.
It’s not that hard. Use your SUPERIOR HUMAN brain to help.
And since you’re regularly going out there to take pictures and videos, carry along liters and liters of water with you. A little act of kindness goes a long way.
Do you have to be taught everything? Can’t you think of ways to help these animals on your own?
Plus, don’t tell me this bullshit that you don’t want to interfere with wildlife. Humans HAVE ALREADY DISRUPTED their lives. All you’re going to do now is EASE THE PROBLEMS THAT HUMANS HAD CAUSED.
Shut up Erica
You're pretty passionate that someone else should take care of this problem. Where will the litres and litres of water come from?
Jeff Keith I think if he’s going to insert himself in the animals’ lives, he might as well go all the way.
The baby elephant stopped moving because it was tired, so shooing it away actually exacerbated the problem.
Imagine stopping because you wanted to rest peacefully and quietly, and someone decided to bug you constantly with noise and hand gestures.
@@Altamirana713 I quite agree, and shooing the baby possibly endangered the mother's life as well. He should have stayed out of the situation altogether. He's not there to resolve anything, he's there to document it so better solutions can be found.
Jeff Keith I plan to go to Thailand in the future, so I could volunteer at Elephant Nature Park. I’m excited! 🐘🤩
Mankind didn't cause this or any other drought. Droughts are caused by WEATHER. One of the important things that droughts do is to weed out the weak and the vulnerable members of the herd. The only reason why that elephant calf is in trouble is that it has a weak mother and it too, has weak genes. They both probably died. That's better for the elephants.
They alreasy know the problem. Why doont they try to givewater to those exhausted. They just watching them. Give water atleast. Human you already know what the cost. Why dont you give help. Give them water

Could domesticating the Elephants like horses be a solution? This is a tough situation...
They have been domesticated but only for man’s sick war experiments
No, they need to remain wild and free, not exploited in any way.
@@cathyskywalker77 yeah, well its better than them being killed off. People will continue to expand and saving them by domestication sounds better than just...kill them off.
@@tancreddehauteville9983 that's rough buddy. Im spit balling for the elephants in the video. I bet they would make great tractors. They get food, the people can expand the farm. just a dream though.
Let’s face the truth Africa’s population will more than double by 2050 which means less animals elephants are going extinct it’s no longer a if but when. We can by them time but we can’t by them safety from extinction.
