Elephant Nomads of the Namib Desert (2008)
Natural World follows two females as they guide their youngsters safely through the year, making sure they grow strong enough to endure the long treks that take the desert elephants to their next source of food. From the wild and remote shoreline of the Skeleton Coast, via the towering sand dunes of the ancient Namib Desert, to the high Kabere mountains of the interior, this is a fascinating journey with a unique group of animals.
Welcome to BBC EARTH! The world is an amazing place full of stories, beauty and natural wonder. Here you'll find 50 years worth of entertaining and thought-provoking natural history content. Dramatic, rare, and exclusive, nature doesn't get more exciting than this.

Always mindblowing how gentle elephants are..
Family they have is everything we could learn from these creatures so beautiful 😍❤️
Actually Rosa who is himbas grandmother is unable to feed Himba and he dies. This is from the documentary elephants of the Namib desert 2008
Poor baby i hope he live they love there babies great mom
Save nature for better future
You know its a dangerous environment when a 300lb animal specifically needs to worry about predators.
Sad to be the news bearer, but baby Himba died 15 years ago. This came out in 2008. His grandmother Rosa had her own 7 year old calf and she was 50, with hardly any milk for Himba.
Duude I clicked on my notification that said baby elephant. I assumed it would be a cute clip ☹ sad in the soul now. The blinks just tore me up!

@@mienamie4448 - This fanaticism is scary to watch in a modern society, on the internet no less.
O pequeno elefante na simbiose com a água e a lama ...que os ajuda a enfrentar a longa caminhada de sobrevivência....são uns vencedores as adversidades naturais!!
El bebe elefante és muy lindo.
I hope the little guy will feel better soon and will be able to be moving more.
isn’t he long dead?
I thought you were referring about me and not the little elephante
He died almost 15 years ago.
@@nick.u182 BRUH 😨
@@eddiespagetti2798 this video is from way back 2008. I googled up to find out what happened as these channels are posting ages old video with no updates.

Help a brother out
Too short! I hooe part 4 is longer.
Wawo
um is he ok?
So if his mother is dead or not producing milk - are there no elephant sanctuaries like in Kenya where he can be taken and helped to live? I understand the TV crew don't like to get directly involved but surely they can alert the wildlife services in Namibia?
This is from 15 years ago
@@deathcap. there were wildlife services 20+ years ago in africa
His mother died after having him and his grandmother had her own calf to feed and she was an old one in her 50s. Sadly Himba died.
@@nick.u182 O, it’s soo very sad
@@deathcap. Thanks - just noticed the video says "archive" - my fault for not spotting it.
Planet is going badly.. guys humans will start to suffer. Animals too..
@Maas 🦢👣 are you blind ? Water is drying out, animals are dying from heat, huge climate changes, e.t.c.
heart breaking to watch it, i realy hope the film crew could help them in some way to bring food to the Elephants ?? ay vy..🐘🐘
Feeding wildlife is bad. They will think all humans will give them food and it will get them killed
@@gasp1gasp1 okay, but i dont get it in a emergency situation....
r/donthelpjustfilming
Instead to catch the footage, please try to help the elephant cub.
Sorry but it doesn't work that way, mother nature has to take course. Ya think a human being is gonna be stupid to risk his life helping an elephant?
Lol apparently this guy doesnt know what nature is. Talking about "try to help"
Elephants are placental mammals of the family Elephantidae, there are only six extant species within only two extant genera, the six extant species of elephant are the African Bush Elephant (Loxodonta africana), the African Forest Elephant (Loxodonta cyclotis), the Indian Elephant (Elephas indicus), the Sri Lanka Elephant (Elephas maximus), the Sumatran Elephant (Elephas sumatranus), and the Bornean Elephant (Elephas borneensis).
Don't worry Himba Will Survive 😎👍bet $150.
