T Jaaaaaaay !!!! Perfect episode man love it when you show the diagram an depths !!! Heading out tonight I’ll keep this in mind my man appreciate you ! Big fish time is right around the corner !
You pack a lot of good info into a vid guy! We're heading up to Manitoba this week, and going to be snorkel spearfishing for walleyes. It's usually a backcountry canoe trip, but a couple of us are having delicate backs this summer, so we're doing some new turf and will be hunting weeds for them more than fishing bottoms of falls and bottlenecks with current. So stoked to see you cover the weeds and see them on FFS; just gets my imagination going for seeing some live and collecting some eaters. Keep up the good fun and content.
@@tjsguideservice Manitoba and Sask allow snorkel spearfishing (no scuba tanks) same regs as hook and line. Not many lakes in Manitoba that work due to too much bog tannins in a lot of the lakes, thus poor vis. Not many people do it up there, but those that do love the hunt of course. Really fun way to collect a meal, and so fun to see them in their natural element.
This was a helpful video. Gave me confidence to keep working areas I was already working and I tried a new area you described in your video and landed a 25” yesterday. Happy August!
Great info. Awesome details and thanks I just bought a boat with only a Lawrence and throwing spinners whiling drifting or trolling is my favorite right now!
Nice video, TJ. Today on a local reservoir, I believe I'm seeing a thermocline at 25'. This signal is consistant throughout the area of the lake I fished. What do you do when you encounter a thermocline above those structures you like at this time of year? Suspended fish over a thermocline? Any thots? Thanks.
Appreciate that, John! 👊 they may be suspended over those, I have seen them relate to structure or transitions even if they are suspended above. Otherwise I would look for shallower structure and find sweet spots at the depth of the thermocline!
New to FFS and learning as I go. Noticed you are fishing more from bow now, than rear of boat as you did previous in your vids. I am fishing from the rear/side, and feel like I'm more confined to fishing only one side or rear of the boat. Can you share your insight on preference, and in what conditions you prefer one over the other. Might be worthy of a video on FFS placement and pros/cons. ??? Thanks for all your fishing insight. You have a gift of breaking things down and explaining things.
Really appreciate the kind words! I have been going back and forth and like both for different reasons. If it’s not windy and I’m hunting down singles or bigger fish, there’s nothing better than having it on the trolling motor! It it’s super windy and I am setting up on stationary pods of fish or if I have multiple people with me, I like to have it at the console, so I can spot look and keep fish on the LS and have the wind yo my back
Thx! I see u are still using your shuttle at the bow. Do you have two lvs34's... and just disconnect when going from bow to rear mount & pole? Thx again for all your info. Much appreciated. 👍
@@apexsrv I use the same shuttle and transducer! I take the transducer off the pole and put it on the trolling motor when I need to. Not ideal but doesn’t take too terribly long!
TJ, I saw your bobber video with really good tips on using your rod for depth. What’s the best way to set your stop in deeper water? (25-30ft) Thanks, you have some very practical tips…
That gets a little trickier, but i usually just use my livescope to help. You can also use your 2D sonar as well just drop it straight down to see. I usually err on the side of higher
Haha! I had to make up for lost time! The rest of the summer I’ve been slacking! I quit guiding to do more content and life got so busy I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted
Graphics and overlays are top notch as always. Best in the business. Love the quality content! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Appreciate the kind words, as always! 👊
Great info, TJ! This has quickly become my favorite way to catch big walleyes!
Appreciate that! Hope the summer is going well for you!

Once I get going, I get going! 😂 appreciate the comment!
That is wild about spear fishing for walleyes. I have never heard of that!?

Glad you found it helpful and congrats on the awesome walleye!! 👊
Headed up to park rapids for the 4th time this year, first time with live scope this year. Your channel has helped me so much !!
You bet! Best of luck! Appreciate the kind words!
Lot of good info here. August seems to be a good time to hit the lakes! Like the different options here!!
Appreciate that, Craig! I agree, August can be fun! But let’s be honest, Is there a bad time to hit the lake!? 😂
Great video again TJ! Really like you show what to look for on 2D!
Thanks, Dan! I need to get back to showing more 2D and SI that’s for sure!
Think your the only one still talking about 2D, appreciate it, 👍🏼

Always great videos! Great content man! 👌🏼
Appreciate the comment, Nathan! Thanks for the support! 👊
Thanks TJ! I’ve struggled fishing deep but I definitely want to try to fish offshore deep weed edges more!
❤️🎣
Appreciate that, Evan! takes some time to breakdown for sure, but trolling them first really helps break them down!
Another great video! Thanks TJ!
Appreciate that, Phil! Glad you enjoyed! 👊
Great video TJ!!!
Appreciate the kind words, Brian!
Great vid. What's your bird settings? I want my helix to be that clear.
I don’t have a video on that yet, definitely something I need to do!

what is the fish finder you are using. It's like a video game with the insane detail that it has showing your jig and the fish.
It is called Garmin Livescope
@@tjsguideservice Expensive. Thanks.
What live imaging setup are you using?
This is the Garmin Livescope LVS34
New to the channel how do you get that color palett on livescope ???

Hopefully the video points that Elias shared were helpful. Some good tips and strategies to tackle these bites without FFS!
