    I have 1600 hours in Foxhole and I still remember back when I played for the first time. I was doing things that I shouldn't have been doing which could've been seen as alt behavior. I then met one guy who helped me learn and understand the basics of the game like logistics and basic combat and made myself useful very quickly. He was very patient with me and it was a very positive learning experience. When I see a new player that doesn't know what they're doing and is potentially and unknowingly harming their teammates, it's important to assume that they're just a new player and not an alt. I could've stumbled into the wrong guy when I started playing and it could've gotten me banned and made me quit the game before even playing. Those first interactions with new players are extremely important and is what makes people want to keep or stop playing the game. Great video btw!

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому +6

      Same! I definitely remember going into random players bases and messing around with stuff I shouldn't have.
      It's unfortunate that a new players experience is left up to chance if they meet a nice person or salty person ha.
      Wish we had like a set list of players that would be "mentors" or something that new players could see a list of in game if they are online and contact them for help or something ya know? That would be so awesome.
      Thanks for sharing your experience! And thanks for the kind words!

      The problem is the reason people do things they shouldn't do is that it doesn't make sense.
      Harvesting resources from a field is not harmful to your faction, period. The fact that clans get this idea that claiming a field is a positive behavior and new players that don't understand the claiming system, because it objectively doesn't make sense, being told later that "they shouldn't have been doing that" is a load of crap.
      A big part of the game is back end logistics, and clans wanting to monopolize resource nodes is counter intuitive to that purpose, period.

    One thing I find is that the revolving door of new players will grind away at your patience. You can explain the same 8 hours of information only so many times to people before you just have to stop.
    Its bloody exhausting that the devs rely on us to be the game's tutorial.

      We have 3 ~45minute-1hour training sessions you have to do to become a full regi member for ours, one in logistics, infantry and combat engineering (building) everyone has to go through it and a lot of people at least pick up some tips and info. It gets updated every so often and different trainers will put their own spin on the thing but there's still interest. When I first played as a solo player there was someone running training classes on home island and that helped a lot honestly.

    I’ve had a fair few really bad experiences sadly with my 200+ hours so far starting back in war 108.
    The worst was the start of 109, my group claimed and found a good spot for our base.
    Then, Russian clans within the area all decided in a private discord call that one of their clans claimed that land and all proceeded to evict us without warning a week into the wipe.
    They just showed up and with broken English we managed to figure out what they wanted. Eventually we compensated if they helped us move and gave us stuff but it sadly broke the morale for most of our group and we were less than half the size as we started because no one could be arsed grinding again from the ground up.
    Apart from that, still fun. There is in game politics between clans and I’ve now joined 27th this current war with a bunch of our original group. It’s…. Interesting to say the least, looking at the clan/regiment perspective.

      Yea the SIGIL 3rd party Discord system for claiming spots in Foxhole can be a pain. Especially for new players that don't even know it exist.
      Most people ignore that 3rd party system and go by first come first serve. As I mentioned in the game if they start teamkilling or destroying you can just report them and it might get solved. Unfortunately it may not get solved that day. I've normally just skipped the headache and found a new place to build my base. Sorry that happened to you though :/
      And yea sometimes the other war in this game is with inner faction clan battles. I like that you all tried to meet halfway with them that was really nice of you!
      Hope you all are having better with 27th! They are a great group!

      It's not "Russian clans all decided", it's the "awesome" system there clans have to be part of some "me and my friends" discord to get access to good spots.
      And "Russian clans" have to be a part of it or some random clan will come and destroy their facility saying that they had a "legitimate claim" in discord.
      Don't let me start how fast it turns into abusing the difference in fluent english and calls for mass report.

    11:10 Just a note here for any new player, some logi clans or even just normal clans are gonna be happy to give you their outdated vehicles such as tankettes or scout tanks during late game, they don't cost that much resources and sometimes newer clans overproduce them and just get a huge stock of vehicles that they probably wont use.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому +5

      Exactly! When you get to late war you can basically use any vehicle besides an SHT or BT. I've found that joining BT groups is still kind of easy to do when wars get past 25 days though.

    Honestly there should be some kind of mentoring system where regiments can volunteer to become a mentor regiment and when new players log in they get given the list of these regiments on their side, what they do and a link to the respective regiments discord. This would help get new players in touch with experienced players who are willing to teach them

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому +3

      I've mentioned this in couple post as well about a mentor system. There should be list some place of trusted Foxhole players that shows up in game and you can see if they are online and whisper or contact them to ask questions or get help.
      Something to connect new players faster to those willing to train them would be great. New player sometimes just ask in chat which is good but another step to it would be nice.

    • @awowadas
      @awowadas 7 місяців тому +3

      This is a good idea, however there are quite a few large regiments filled with those salty vets that would sign up for this. Someone at siege camp would have to review mentorship positions to ensure they aren't going to regiments with griefing/alting history.
      Would hate for a new player to join a large regiment and get into the mindset of "I'm in a bigger regiment than you, so I can do whatever I want".

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  7 місяців тому

      @@awowadas True that's a good point. The mentors would have to be vetted. Could have it if the mentors get complaints about them they are kicked out of the program. No second chances or anything.

  • @awowadas
    @awowadas 8 місяців тому +125

    Simplest solution seems to be hiring someone at siege camp who's only job is interacting with the community via dev blog, discord, and through the in-game reporting system. All those negative reviews about toxic vets and clans are 100% true, and completely deserved. The only people who are able to fix the mass reporting situation is siege camp. They NEED to be reviewing these automated suspensions, removing the suspensions that are erroneous, and then suspend EVERYONE who filed a false report for a full week.
    The only way to fix the problem at this point is to actually punish the people taking advantage of the in-game systems to grief another player(s). Taking the game away for a week for these vets will immediately have a positive effect.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому +16

      Community Manager position would be pretty cool. Yea some of these vets I agree do need a reality check that they aren't in charge.

    • @smt3961
      @smt3961 8 місяців тому +2

      Simplest solution is to update and rework tutorial. Main problem of game is that vets have no choice . Teaching new players is obligatory . You either teach them, instead tutorial, or they become time delayed bomb for your team. Why can't they just update tutorial? There is so many mechanics which have to be explained by vets ,but all them are same. How do you think, after how many new players teached by you ,you figure out , that you repeating same problematic things again and again.
      You become NPC, you become tutorial . This is not okay. Teaching for vets is another grind. Grind in game makes people toxic. Explaining basics is job of game, not vets. Expierience of new players depends on grind and time spend by other players.
      You've teached 10 people, 20 people, 40 people and etc. Some of them are just random dudes and some are your clanmates so you can track their ingame route.
      Well, you have clan with flow of new players, you teach them instead tutorial again and again, not about advanced things, just basics ,about logi and building. Most of them will understand ,that for most movements in game you need logi grind. So they leave game and never return, because you quickly open them eyes on how this game works. You wasted time on them. But some of them will accept it and stay. Those will split on casual players who will not grind at all , and no lifers , who will try to build their bases and facilities, who will supply everything, and who will do logi.
      Amount of wasted time melts your morale pretty quick.

    Some good advice here for new players. But ultimately this community issue is just a symptom of the bigger problem of how poisonous alting is to the community. I made it past the new player experience but ultimately quit the game when I realised that the chronic level of alt facilitated partisan strikes just made building high tier facilities not worth the effort.

    New player - I've gotten plenty of help from vet pleyers who are happy to help with any questions I have to ask, the only negativity I've gotten or toxicity from other players is from the opposing enemy side. Which I mean, *we're at war* of course they're gonna tell me to "off myself." I don't think there is as much toxicity in the game as the reviews believe, more that it is a communication issue. I mean everytime I respawn at a bunker there's always that one vet player being super helpful telling new players what to do and how they can help.
    Right now my biggest issue with the game is the logistic delivery's, bringing a bunch of guns but no ammo for those guns. Nothing makes me realise that we've lost a frontline foothold then seeing 200+ respawn tickets but having only 42 rifles with only 20 something ammunition for those rifles.
    For any logistics players reading, if your gonna bring respawn tickets for players bring as many rifles and ammo for those players to use, we're not gonna win this war with sidearms alone😂

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому +2

      Welcome to Foxhole! Glad you have only gotten negativity from opposing side. That honestly rarely happens as well. Most people say GG and make cross voice chat fun.
      Vet players at bunkers telling players what to do are normally right in what you should be doing but sometimes just don't say it the right way lol.
      I do logi a lot! If I see a lot shirts (tickets) in the bunker and low guns I normally bring a lot of rifles and 7.62. In one crate you can bring a ton of 7.62. If you are on the front and see you are low make sure to make a map post with "logi list" and request rifles and ammo with the front you are on. Or type in logi chat what you need and where you are at.
      Let me know if you have any other logi questions and I'd be happy to answer them!
      Hope you keep having a good time with Foxhole! It's a great game!

      It takes 20-30 seconds more to figured what really in need on frontline, but then you can realy improve you logi effectiveness in game by using this pyramids.

    The list of Do's and Don'ts can be expanded upon by distinguishing what is considered a logi town from the start of the war and those which are not. Then make said list always appear before they spawn in the hex, and make the list toggleable on the settings to not annoy vets. Like the TF2 tips system when you connect into a match.
    Just make it nice and short, like most good introductions should be.

    I’m not sure what the devs have done to mitigate alting but I’ve definitely still seen it even in this most recent war. My clan’s solution was to essentially have a “guard” if we had a vehicle we really didn’t want stolen that we couldn’t put in the seaport. We had our fair share of “hey do you need help?” With low ranks wandering our facility and some would just be looking for the front or something and we’d help them but most wouldn’t reply and just run away. We’d never know if that was just some younger player scared of some random person talking to them or an alt potential scouting our base. So yeah the alt paranoia is real

      I have a slide in the video that shows somethings they have added. Like if someone throws a logi truck full of supplies into the water the supplies actually just go back in to the seaport. Where in the past they were actually lost. They have made a lot of small changes but they have helped a lot honestly.
      Yea unfortunately it's still really hard to tell ha. Having a guard is a good idea. Or at least someone with radio and checking on your base for any circles every now and then is a good idea as well.

I usually always got help, and people told me about their fear of alts. Many of my starting questions were whether or not I could take things, because I knew it took time and resources to make everything. My major issue with Foxhole is the weird current cult of personality surrounding SecretBismarck. For those new to Foxhole, Bismarck used to be a seemingly helpful member of the community, writing up manuals to teach new players and whatnot. However, as is the case with various "vets" (people who play foxhole for too long begin to suffer from brain rot, and actually believe they've experienced war from playing a video game), this took a turn for the worse. In an attempt at misguided vigilantism, Bismarck has taken it upon himself to "uncover" building exploits/glitches/bugs for the devs to fix.
    Well, that's what he tells himself anyway. Instead of finding said exploits for the pure purpose of removing them, he instead deploys them to his regiment's advantage, in active combat zones, and to the very least of my knowledge, has done so for the last 10 wars (well except when NEP quit because of Warden Bober exploits, ironic doesn't begin to cover it). I'm a builder in Foxhole, and I'll be the first to admit it is wank. However, creating new forms of glitches (Bismarck Cores, as he has so humbly named them, gravel foundations surrounding BB, making it nigh unkillable) isn't going to improve that.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  7 місяців тому +1

      I have noticed this a lot more frequently as well with Bismarck and a lot of vet players that find out exploits. They are under the impression that if they abuse them as much as they can it will help the developers remove them faster. Which I haven't really seen from Siege Camp.
      It's fine to try and figure out these exploits and find out how they work just don't use them against the other faction.

    UA-camman bad.
    Now seriously... it's the broken window theory. There's toxicity yes, but the biggest issue is not the toxicity itself but the fact that it goes unpunished, so victims either quit the game or become toxic themselves.
    It used to be that the large coalitions of players (and clans) were the actual enforcers of civility within this game, not the moderators (which were really few and some... well... you know what they say, power corrupts people). At some point they started caring more about winning the war that about keeping the game civil and free of cheaters, and this is where it led us.

    Lock out " similar to weapon lock out 20min"
    what there should be instead of only banning we can lock out a players abiliy to do something and give them the reason example i steal someone vic like a tank they report me then i cant take or use that kind of vic i get a small side window tutorial stating the reason
    "you stole a players vic and got reported for it, every thing in this game is made by a player please understand that unless you made it ask if its ok to take. communication is key in this game."
    this can be done for new players for clear alts you still have the option of being kicked out of the game by players that banned you
    Zone message popup
    + when it comes to player made facilitys there should be area claim were as soon are you go into the zone there are popup message example messages like:
    "dont take vic or you will be shot"
    " this facility is for clan members and friends only... "
    abit like when you enter a new zone you get a notification about it. the messages will stating it will be semi locked into your screen unless your part of the clan or seen it for a while or click yes i understand on the message it will be auto translated for each language
    Highlighting when hovering over something states message
    + there should be high light marker that should state on the vic if i hover over it and its claimed by a clan it should state "private dont take" or "public free to use" each player can place it on there vic and leave a small message for other players to be aware this message gets specialy in faciliys or in private parking lots
    over all warning is key

      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому +1

      I like that pop up idea explaining what the player did wrong. These types of things need to be in home region some place as well.
      That would be really cool if the communication was set up that way. We basically have to use signs for that kind of stuff right now.
      Foxhole does need a bit of a quality of life update for communication tools I think. I just want a quality of life update overall ha. No more vehicles for while besides the new ships that are coming out.
      I agree about having warnings in game is key. Especially with so many of them right now being unwritten rules.

    I can honestly say, I played with a group of friends and we spent 5 days farming and assembling 3 trucks of artillery and ammunition, we took them to a city on the front and for those who know how artillery works, you can't use it anywhere due to the wind , distance, etc... We had information that an enemy convoy would pass carrying resources and the only area we could hit them was next to the city's respawn, we had about 30 seconds to get there, aim and fire, in this rush we ended up that we ran over a person because the city was busy, this person spent the next 4 hours following us, trying to steal our ammunition and vehicles and cursing us in the voice, after that we started to simply report anyone in their first "troll" attitude, then a few weeks ago we reported a guy who had entered our truck and after that he said in the chat that he was a newbie and didn't know how to play, FoxHole's biggest current problem is exactly that the line between a "newbie" and a "troll" is so tenuous that without dialogue it is impossible to differentiate, and this is caused exactly by the lack of a learning curve provided by the game to newcomers.

Had my base I work for so long for on partisan island basically destroyed by friendlies who believe they could take whatever they wanted. When posted in chat 50% said this was okay while the other half backed me.
    The good thing was 2 nearby clans basically tried everything they could to help get me back to speed but I was kinda done after that and am on a long break from the game.

      I think taking resources from bunkers in backline is not something you should do though 99% of the time.

      As a regiment we have to consider overstocking our bases and shit for pubs. That’s how the game is. We can’t except every player to make their own shit and make their own bases. And honestly without pubs we don’t really have a game. They’re the backbone of the game as the majority of players are solo casual players. So we take that into account building our shit and making things available.

    Sorry, but you are wrong in putting the blame onto the players for the community being toxic and unwelcoming. That is entirely fault of the devs. They could have kept the game size small and maintain moderation which in a game like this simply HAS to be there, the lack of it resulted in players taking on the role of policing. They could have made ACTUAL good and fun tutorial and tutoring system where new players assign themselves under one of the online vets that signed up for it. Average vet should not be responsible for teaching new players. Many don't want to suffer their incompetence, especially when encountering them while working toward something else, which for me used to be like 98% of gameplay.
    Everything in this game takes hours, building, preparing and transporting a tank to the front takes between 1-2 IRL hour, it obviously frustrates a vet when a Pvt. Joe "AcciDenTally" wrenches it, locks it and drives it into death, or just cluelessly stands behind the tank thinking we are a nice piece of cover for his personal benefit while blocking our only means of escape from potential enemy push, because the game doesn't let you drive over them if they are pressed against you and you aren't in motion. So many things like that exist and builders get it much, much worse than tankers. The game demands a lot from players so if you don't want to be yelled at you need to know a lot, because everything you do has potentially catastrophic consequences if you do it wrong. If the game was faster a mistake could only cost you 5 minutes to rectify, currently most mistakes will cause HOURS of lost progress so obviously they will grow deep resentment to those that cause those mistakes.
    A lot of vets see newbies as NPC drones that can't be used for anything. Unreliable, lacking general awareness and inefficient in anything they do. There is a reason why IRL armies don't accept people with under 83 IQ and a new player in as complex and niche game as Foxhole is essentially equivalent to the status of 'imbecile' until he learns and many won't be willing to do that before experiencing the great parts of the game and they won't experience those great parts because more and more of them are being locked behind significant amount of coordination and experience... That's why this is such common criticism in the negative reviews, it's not the toxicity, it's the direction the game took way back and now is simply paying the price for it.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  7 місяців тому +1

      I agree with you that it's the devs fault. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I think I was more so trying to explain to players on how to avoid these types of interactions. Every gaming community has a toxic side that should be avoided. Thank you for pointing this out and calling me out. I need to keep myself checked on this at times as well especially if I don't explain myself clearly.
      I love your tutorial idea for helping new players! That sounds amazing honestly. Some kind of mentoring program.
      I agree that a lot of things in this game take a lot of work. And I get that vets with many many hours in this game can get very salty. There is no need for them to take it out on the players though. Should be teaching moments.
      I see new players as puppies that needed to be guided if they want to be and help them as much as I can. I know a lot of others have this mentality as well. There are just a few that make it worse for new players.
      And I agree that ever since facilities the direction for coordination with others has gone in the wrong direction. And I hope the devs address that soon.

    so there are more problems as a non clan affiliated person, clans will also tend to claim a are and resouces especially component spawn areas making it nigh impossible to make anything above basic supplies and clans also tend to hoard materials that could very well mean the difference between success or failure in a nearby battle. I remember running logi to origin and passing multiple pallets of arty shells and could not access them to bring to the front and there were the clan members online at the time ignoring origins pleas for arty shells. Clans get rather elitist as well and can sour the experience for those of us who cant spend more than a couple of hours in the game a week.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  7 місяців тому

      I've played on both sides and while there are a few clans who "hoard" resources most resources are still easy to get to make whatever you want. Just depends where you are in the war and where you are in the tech tree. Like once light tanks tech rmats are super hard to get. But once you give it a day for the rush to die down they are easy to get again.
      I agree with you that some clans out their hoard way to many resources and don't know when to release them to the public. I've seen containers and containers full of components that don't get used unfortunately.
      Like others have said it's sometimes just best to join a clan right away when you start to learn the game and that way you have access to basically everything without having to fight other people for it.

    maybe just have 2 servers? 1 for a new players, and 2 for the advanced servers (?) when joining the advanced server, give a warning that you will be played in a serious environment.
    vet can play on 2 servers and the main purpose they in the news server is to recruit and recommend new players to play in the advanced server if he/she is decent enough to play.
    let the newb server be an anarchy server without report system?. idk just idea on my top of my head xD

    • @RobertLovesGames

      Unfortunately due to the game's population at any given time the game does not really run well with two servers. Makes one server basically dead and then the other just half populated.
      Idea works in theory but just not for this game at this time. If we had more of a player base I would be all for it!

    The report system should be overwatched. Someone at siege camp should review, especially mass, reports, and if reports weren't for a good reason, their reporting strength should be diminished, while players with good reporting habits should be more influential in reporting.

    Witch-huntinting killed many times more organisations than witches themselves.
    Never had any problems with mass reporting but i can see where reviews come from.
    Just a few days ago i suggested a quick plan to a big clan on a frontline. Said plan included the use of barges and certain equipment in the inventory.
    Clan organised very fast, and in minutes we were ready. Except we couldn't move because one "random" player jumped on a barge exceeding its transport limit (6 people). Since inter-regiment comms become quite hectic, instead of spending a lot of time to explain the situation, clanman just killed the guy.
    Were they wrong? Probably, but the guy retaliated, team killing multiple clanman. Clanman then mass reported the guy.

    I got banned for like 12 or 24 hours from a mass report for building a trench some clan member didn’t like.
    Edit: I quit the game for months after this and eventually came back. I definitely left a negative review and made a seigecamp ticket and got that general email the next day saying I could play again. Didn’t help me at the time though because I play games like once a week, so banning me for a day is like banning me for a week. Needless to say I was salty and didn’t return for several months. And even now I’m distrustful of the population. I’m a casual player that does mostly solo but some regiment events.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому

      Totally agree. Think we all agree as a community the tutorial needs updated.
      In some ways I like that vet players teach new players as it makes the game seem little organic and alive more. But I think we can still do that and still have a better home region tutorial as well. There is a happy middle somewhere there.
      And yes the burnout can happen a lot faster as well. I've kind of always knew this game was a bit of a grind but I'm crazy enough to enjoy it for some reason ha.
      Thanks for your thoughts on this! Appreciate it!

    My first week plaing this game (war 82) I got a 2 hour ban because I was digging a trench XD. I think it was my 3rd or 4th day playing and I got to a front and grabbed a shovel and started digging... this made the clan man mad and i got reported... I remember them yelling at me and telling me to stop, and in my defiance i told them to kiss my posterior (more or less worded differently :)). The ban didnt stop me from playing at all but it was at this moment I learned that the mob unfortunitly do have this power. through out the rest of my time playing this game I have had some bad experiances with regards to clans and have witnessed some stuff, however i have had WAY more good experiances and good fun that outway these blips. With many more hours under my belt and working my way up the ranks I can see where the mistrust is, and the frustration on new players... its difficult to say what the best way to manage the system to prevent abuse but I do feel like it needs to be rethought. I got lucky aswell as when doing logi I fully was under the impression of most vehicles in seaports and towns are free to take people just lock them forget about them and what not so I wrenched a ironship at a seaport thinking someone left it there and got screamed at shot at while trying to explain that i dint know about it. I started playing foxhole last war and I can check off every item you listed about new players (except the banning part). I was blamed and reported for TKing a teammember who was stuck in a building and thus asked me to shoot him. Another occasion I was accused of suspicious behaviour when I was wandering around the map trying to understand logi. On the frontlines it is quite common to be yelled at for small mistakes.
    Of course in the heat of battle people get emotional, I very much get that. But I would definitely say that the amount of salty comments to new players is quite high in Foxhole compared to other online games.
    This however didn't stop me from playing Foxhole for 100 hours already. It is an awesome game with an awesome community. But still, how good the intentions of the majority may be, I feel that a salty minority do not leave enough room for new players to make mistakes and learn. In my opinion this is partly a community issue, party a development issue (tutorials are certainly outdated).
    For now: why not mark a region as "logi training"? Vet players could hang around if they like to teach and new players can learn and still contribute to the war effort.

    the toxic communities are not a minority considering how huge regs are. You said do something your not supposed to do. there's literally nothing you can do that deserves being verbally abused and harrased by a group of people playing videogame. It's supposed to be fun. Why are you yelling at someone and taking a tank that's not being used is not bannable at all. That's what squad locking is for, and also regs shouldn't be able to hog all the resources especially oil fields. They literally claim it are hostle to anyone they see. We are adults and should be able to have bases next to each other. It's silly. sorry as someone who' has a loud and unique personality that plays usually plays solo mostly because discord channels with like 30 people all hot micing gives me anxiety out the wazoo, but I stand out to say the least so I could see this toxic shit coming as soon as they came out of beta. I actually love foxhole it' was my favorite game, and it sucked watching it fall into this toxic greedy game where people are fighting wth their own team to protect really petty amounts of resources. I'm so bummed. I remember when I was learning facilities I would just go into someone's facility and see how they didi it. That's the best way i foiund to learn how to make facilities. I would literally just go scroop a bunch of shit scrap, comps w/e bring it to a facility and use what i scrooped and see the process, and you woulnd't believe the horrible time i had when regs showed up and how rude and mean they were. Most wouldn't even say hello. they would imedietly freak out. Me in my head is like what are you talking about i'm literally doing your job for you. I'm making this or that. They would harras me anyway. I swear this happened to me almost 90 percent of the time. It wasn't a minority. This shouldn't happened to someone just exploring the game being curious about a new feature of a game.

      Not everyone in a reg is toxic though. Only takes few bad eggs to make a whole reg look bad.
      I agree with you that no one should be verbally abused. But this is the internet people are jerks. Best to mute and move on from those people. That is why the mute button exist.
      Exactly. If they don't want a tank taken they should squad lock it. That's on them. And I agree that clans should not be able to hoard resources. I've talked about this many a times.
      Some of us are adults and some of us are adults who still like children. It sadly is just that way.
      I get it sometimes it's the loud personalities that get yelled at the most in this game for no reason. I hate it.
      Yea something needs to change about facilities so that people aren't paranoid about others using them. Sorry that happened to you.
      I agree with everything you have said.
      Thanks for sharing this I really appreciate it. New players need to read this and know about this kind of interaction. Thank you!

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  Місяць тому

      That makes sense. Unfortunately there is only one server for Foxhole and team killing happens a lot by accident so it's hard to tell when it's on purpose or just an accident.

    Newish player, 95% of people are great. Unfortunately I had a run in with the 5%.
    I killed an enemy, picked up his flamethrower to take it back to BB. But having never seen or used one before, I decided to give it a blip - I fired for half a second at nothing just to see the effect. A salty vet appeared out of nowhere immediately, screaming STOP WASTING FUEL!!!!
    It's like, dude. I captured this for the team, I'm bringing it back. I literally tapped the mouse to witness the fire. Muted him and moved on.

      Sorry you had to run into the 5% of those toxic players! It seems like you handled it the best way and the way everyone should handle it! Mute and move on.
      Thanks for sharing this! This should help other new players understand that unfortunately yes these situations still happen but they can be dealt with.

    Game would benefit immensely from lower-stakes combat experience. A shitty player on an active front is worse than having fewer players there. I don't know if pve has a place in this kind of game but people have a very difficult time building skills when their average life expectancy is about 25 seconds after jumping in the trench

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  4 місяці тому

      Makes sense. You can still have fun as a solo player though it's much harder. The devs really do want players to work together which is not bad just might not be implemented correctly. They are working towards it though it seems from their previous updates.

    I don't think this is the #1 issue of the game I do think it's an issue but in my opinion the size of the map and population is the #1 problem.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому +1

      I don't know if you heard but I read all 31,000 negative steam comments it is the #1 issue. lol
      But you are right I would say it's the number 1 problem for player retention which goes into player population issues and the size of the map as well.
      If I got to pick what the number one issue was right now I would honestly ques. Ques are really hurting this game. We need some kind of new system.

    The devs are unfortunately not that concerned about the quality of life in this game. I know they've been busy introducing naval warfare, but that has introduced many more balance issues that the game is seeing now.
    There is still so many issues this game has, and I wish they would communicate more about smaller changes that help new and veteran players. The next changes should really look back on all the content that was released and introduce balance/quality of life changes, so this game can be more enjoyable for everyone.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  7 місяців тому +1

      I agree with you. I think they focus on adding to many new mechanics and vehicles and just need to spend some time polishing what they already have.
      I think we all knew there would be balance issues with the new ships. It's going to be while before those get remotely close to balanced.
      Again I agree with you completely. Hopefully we see some quality of life changes in these next minor updates.

    I mean some clans are just plain obnoxious. They build huge fking bases everywhere and it often becomes a chore just to keep up defensive bases and small factories, not to talk about them building on top of your base to dry out Gsupps and they are as likely to steal vehicles that happened to me every time i set up a base for QRF, i always ended up having to replace armoured vehicles because they would keep getting stolen by the same people over and over again. Id say we should reverse the 1.0 update. Before it was quite simple to do logistics and setting up bases as of now, finding vets at the front is a rarity outside of operations. Also armoured vehicles should all be accessible at some point. I dont want to spend 8 hours a day keeping up a facility and competing with massive clans for resources just to get a single vehicle

  • @rubenmartin7759

    Well known French clan try to stole me a ship with 4 containers full of bmats when I was coming with the last one. They're already stolen and claimed to be there's I told them where I was going and decided to return me the ship but wait for me there. Just to point me to the factory next to the shipyard. They far less knowledgeable than me but still managed to steal 2 bmats to their personal account, cause I was chilling on me own.
    Then I told them they have no fu***ng idea of this game works if I want to bring produced items that's what I being doing cause it takes less space on the ship + we are in the base Right Next to the mass production Factory I was bringing bmats for bases forward bases to advance. But they never return the bmats. Cause you know I don't know what I'm doing and they just helping the hole community disallowing me from thinking how to support the front.
    Basically they bring my supplies to a factory closer to the front cause they doesn't want to stay in base producing on the mass production one, new players do work for us that until they are allowed to be into our clan mentality I wasn't new btw. I played r2 engine "mods" I couldn't understand why zombie event never return or the fight club at the start of wars. Independence war was a fantastic one as well.

    I think the biggest source of this problem is facilities, facilities are too hard for new players to try to learn as they can do a lot of damage from not knowing how the game works, facilities do not allow for collaboration

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  8 місяців тому

      I completely agree. You can't really do facilities alone and new players who probably like the idea of Factorio or something like that think they can come in and do that in Foxhole. Then other groups get made about mssups in the region or something.
      I think facilities can allow for collaboration but only between clans not individual players really.
      Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
