As soon as I loaded foxhole I met a dude that spent 40 minutes walking noobs around and telling us the game mechanics. The dude sounded like a general, was very professional and focused on the task. It was incredible. As soon as he was done with our tour, he collected another group of players and did it again. What a legend.

I literally just started playing Foxhole today, like 4 hours ago. It was just 40 minutes before a war started, so we're fooling around at the home world. The complexity of everything was such a shock to me. I watched like an hour worth of UA-cam videos about the game but I was still unprepared. I went to the obstacle course & shooting range to practice the bare minimum. Then I noticed that there's a guy in public chat calling out for people who's interested in doing logi. I'm not even familiar with the combat system so I joined his logi squad to get familiar with this game. This guy gave very detailed & well thought out tutorials on how to gather & build & transport all the necessary resources, as if he had taught this lesson 100 times. The first 40 minutes of the game felt like taking a class back in middle school. And this logi guy has a whole squad of logi dudes & what they do 70% of the game was just logi stuff - hammering stuff, building stuff, trucking stuff. I felt like I'm playing a blue collar worker simulator. After a couple of hours, I bid farewell to the squad & deployed to the front. The front line was as chaotic as the best war movie you could imagine. I don't even know what button to press in many situations. However, every time when I'm frozen in place due to my noob nature, people around me will instantly notice & tell me what to do. I tried not to get in people's way & help pick up the wounded as much as I can. I don't know how to effectively push forward, so I lay down suppressing fire while I observe how people play. No one blames anyone for mistakes or not playing the game "correctly". Everyone is here to help each other & more importantly, to have fun. I'm glad I finally get my hands on this game. This is a gaming experience I've never had.
Legend. Well, he did the facilities thing in the resistance phase after 113.... and now the devs announced that they're adding a facilities section to the home region "tutorial" area :D
Not gonna lie, I feel a little giddy when I hear people yelling "for the pile" in the distance nowadays :D "May your mercy shine upon my face, as I join the pile in eternal grace"
What a beautiful review. Thank you for playing and thank you for joining the community. It makes us very happy and energized to continue developing the game for hopefully many more years of desperate battles, being overrun by logi trucks and of course.... more corpses for the pile!
Same for me here, I picked up the game almost four years ago, and the main barrier for me playing was going and talking to people. Because I wanted to play it so badly I managed to work through some of my social anxiety and it’s helped my life out in general because of that. The interactions in foxhole are the kind I can’t get anywhere else.
Same here, I don't know if I would have just become more extroverted with age, but I have no doubt that foxhole accellerated the process. It's fun and since coordination is such a force multiplier it really does push you towards using the vc. Even though I really need to touch grass now, I am very glad that I picked up this game and came out of my shell more because of it.

Great review! You really showed the thing I love most about Foxhole. What sets it apart from every other MMO is that there are no quests or missions or set roles, the game doesn't *tell* you what your objective should be or how to win the war, you just figure it out yourself. Like you said, the roles all tie in to each other and every one is essential. The whole game is about players creating stories for other players, rather than having the developers decide the plot.
Now you got me thinking that I should've showcased a battlefield problem, the limited supplies we had, and people discussing how best to use those supplies to solve the problem hahhaha
You put very well the feeling of the game by saying "being pulled into random adventures". Random interactions with random people are what make the best moments in the game. And I also am not very talkative in person, lol. 10 shirts out of 10. Would recommend.
@@BlueLaminate It's always some clan dude in an armored car + a cargo truck full of HE grenades + a mortar who is like "I need volunteers!" just moving around the world trying to take out a relic base we ended up running into a brand new flanking Bunker Base and a buuunnnccchhh of defenses, we started HEing the defenses and the commanded went back for more HE's, by the the time he returned the area was cleared of defenses and we were under intense fire from 2 machine guns + a tank. He called his clan and they sent 3 tanks over, splashed that tank and our group (now 10-12 people + 3 tanks + 1 mortar) rolled over the enemy all the way to their relic base. This drew enemies from the main fight and within 2 hours the main fight had destroyed 2 Bunker Bases and were linked up with us sieging the relic base. That 2 hour fight trying to tie up Collies was so epic. Barely any supplies, just pure teamwork. By the end of the 2 hours we were down to pistols + HE grenades and a handful of rifles (the tanks had to leave because of the AT fire). Thanks for the review Brother...it does look like a raucous time! =) Another great game that Im currently playing is Chivalry 2, very intense multiplayer medieval melee game.
Dude, great vid. Really enjoyed how each talking point had a sensical transition. You've got talent and I look forward to seeing your content on my feed 🫡
I tried it out after watching the vid, and had a wonderful time. The first 30 mins to an hour was a lot of reading, highlighting the depth of the gameplay. Afterwards, met some new players looking for others to hold a bridge for logi trucks. Pure chaos for the next hour 😂 felt like a headless chicken
You had fun... on a bridge fight? Are you okay? Just kidding HAHAHAHA most people don't like bridge fights of any kind, but I'm glad you had some fun hahahha
@@BlueLaminate lol the bridge really forces you to communicate with others. I learned to build/repair stuff, heal others, and a mix of combat roles from others during that session. I'm going to try some mid-line logi or naval today. See you on the battlefield.
Guardsman is great to tank with. Dude once got so pissed at the enemy tank line that he got a public Bardiche like 2 or 3 hexes away, drove it up to the front lines and kept daring the wardens to kill it while I struggled to gun hahaha It was glorious. I should find a way to get that incident into a video hahaha
I wasn't finished modeling barges yet when I made that (I used the barges dropping off toy soldiers for other videos later on) so I just said screw it, benchy will do 😆 I almost put a gun on a benchy to show a gunboat too lol
Cardinal rule of Foxhole should be ABH: Always Be Helpful. You see someone building, digging, bleeding, hauling...pitch in for 5-10 minutes. People severely underestimate how powerful simple teamwork and community can be.
Ace here again. Let me know the next time you go Warden I’m always done for an adventure. Very good review really new player friendly and should get people to want and buy the game!
Well, I'll probably run into you anyway the next time I go Warden. I haven't actually played too much this was (114), I feel like i'm missing out on being a collie as it is though😅
@@BlueLaminate same I’ve only put a few hours in and its all been medic to do something different. Got quite a few days off coming up so probably back to logi during that.
I started playing Foxhole back in December 2018. I don't play now, but I still keep in touch with your videos. Maybe next time you could create a video about your gripes with Foxhole or your suggestions to the devs. I think Bear also made something like that before.
Same. I've tanked with him a couple of times. Once he got so pissed at the enemy tank line, that out of pure determination and sheer forking will, he pulled a public bardiche 3 hexes away and drove it to the front line to yell at the wardens saying "IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT?! THIS IS A BARDICHE." I should've looked for that clip and stuck it in this review hahaha
I was at 0:29 [MP宪兵队][银魂] So glad we were in a landing craft...DEATH! If we joinedgame on last November, we will be the same group of players Didn't expect you recorded me then, thank you ,with our glorious assault bro ✊
There are some places full of bushes to hide in, I think it's in my "guess I'll be a pirate" video. We hid like 12 guys in bushes while waiting for a poor soul to pass by
Yes! I mentioned this the other day. Though I was in favor of thick forests, as jungles would be muddy and I hate mud in this game. But yeah, we need terrain that can accommodate a decent fight and is difficult for armor to penetrate. Give the inf more responsibility / opportunity. Especially late game
Well some people use star wars mods, like lasers instead of tracers and clone troopers instead of soldiers. Pretty sure that he 501st clan does this, pretty sure they even have a guy named Rex with the rank of captain now
Compared to a couple years ago all this is a 2 out of 10. It used to be absolutely incredible. Full boot camps at new player spawns where people got judged and placed into squads and so much more. I try now but it’s just not the same anymore.
Say love your vid and do hope to see you in the battlefield either as a friendly or enemy, but I think you missed an underrated role which be combat engineer Description: helps build Frontline fortifications like wt and pillboxes and repairs tanks to reduce repair time and risk. And loots the battlefield for handy items like cutlers or lunairs
I only played a little bit because my PC is aging to hell and back but I love shit like this I hope Siege Engine does well with the medieval game they're making cause good lord, if Foxhole is anything to go off of, shit like this is always a gem
I really hope Anvil Empires does well without taking too much from Foxholes playerbase :D I've been trying to get in the Alpha tests for Anvil Empires, but I haven't won the RNG lottery for a test invite code yet hahahhaa
I tried the game out a few days ago but refunded it because it felt too complicated to try learning it for 2 hours only to find out I don't actually like it. Today, I decided to buy it again because of your channel. Hoping to learn and help the war effort.
Well, foxhole isn't for everyone, but like I said in the video there's soooo many complicated mechanics but you don't have to do them all at once. (I still don't know how to build most of the big things hahaha) I hope you find a role in the game that you actually enjoy :)
@@BlueLaminate I'm actually quite willing to actually try this time, so much so that I might leave the game running in the main menu for 2 hours so I haven't got a choice. I like these types of games, but never played one this... complex. And I am willing to learn so I can have le epic funny war moments.
I am learning russian due to foxhole, so I can tank with russian, friod = forward, nazat= backward, daway= go or lets go kill them bastards Also about teams just being friendly to eachother, I got healed by a colonial medic as a warden three times before finally getting killed.
0:55 "Teamwork is incredible important" as a Widow gets stuck in between two BIKES. And yes, this actually works, and due to the way infantry-carried AT works, bikes are an absolute priority threat to tanks. If one gets behind you and blocks off your mobility, you're dead.
Just picked the game up today and I would love for them to add some sort of airfocrce to the game for the start one type of fighter, attack aircraft and bomber etc and when you would get shot down you could be able to bail out and land behind enemy lines then maybe try to get back to friendly lines or if not so luck get picked up by the enemy
Believe me, we'd all love that, it's become a bit of a meme lately to have the "they should add planes to the game" talk lol. Devs said they have big plans for 2025, so fingers crossed. The community has discussed how it could be implemented and the whole assortment of issues that would need to be solved at length hahaha
@@BlueLaminate I really hope they add planes in the near future it would add an amazing new depth to the game bringing to the table with it new sick ways to fight battles and as of whole new tactics plus new weapons because planes = anti aircraft weaponry etc imagine how cool would it would be to be able to be apart of a 4-5 people bomber crew or a solo fighter ace striking fear in the hearts of enemies with just your name… in that one video of yours where you were trapped on the small island what if there was an airbase there so you could do an airlift evacuation it would be like Stalingrad 2.0… PLEASE DEVS GIVE US PLANES if we get them mark my words I’ll be one of the first to gain recognition up in the sky amongst the clouds
I played for about 2 hours yesterday. I'm still a new player but I'm enjoying playing. Held a bridge on the Briar River for an hour b4 one of the factions blew it up. We kept going to the enemy side and hiding in their trenches. All the time I was trying to figure out how VC worked and how I'd know if I was talking.( still have no idea BTW XD)
The community is indeed pretty cool. I just find that the game role balance is a bit unfair, because logistics are super boring but it's the most needed thing in order to do the fun stuff.
I can't believe I forgot to reply to this comment, I think I was on the bus or something. Well, while logistics can be... challenging, we do have entire clans dedicated to logistics, along with some people that jsut feel like doing public logistics every now and then, I've done it too, the feeling... just kind of summons you? Anyway, think of it like.... Factorio. just a little more stressful with a lot more people, I guess. Also, some logi players I've talked to take pride in making blockade runs and trying to figure out how to get around them. But yeah logi really ,really isn't for some people :)
Only game that is like foxhole would be specific servers for arma 3 liberation. Logistics are necessary and are all handled by real players. Artillery is operated by actual people and being called in over radio by actual people. Getting inserted to an AO or battle is done by ground or air logistics units.
This game sounds interesting. I heard you mention "spotter" when talking about the artillery. That position is called the forward observer. I'm curious how deep the gameplay is for that role. Are you calling in grid coordinates? Clicking a spot to direct the artillery? How does that work?
Well, I think we just say spotter because it's quicker hahaha Usually the spotter has binoculars and are in squad chat with the artillery crew. For shorter ranges (like mortars) the spotter just sits next to the artillery guy and says a distance & azimuth direction (whatever the binoculars say), that's why you'll occasionally see 6 mortar guys sticking to a guy with binoculars. Adjust for wind after you see the shells land. For longer distances though.... there is some math, though I'm pretty sure that there's a website for it, for foxhole lol. If the target, spotter, and artillery piece are in line with each other, it's a lot easier.
Well... I do only cover a niche indie game for now hahaha On the furries bit, I probably should've put context on the steam review shown in the video, that's just a running gag in the community. If you see the foxhole art on reddit or the discord though, you will find a good number of furries tbh lol
@@BlueLaminate oh i know very mush what you mean no need for context XD tho it's maybe a niche game but i think the most important is the person play it, i don't play foxhole but still watch video cause i like the youtubers that do videos on it

Thank you :) Making this video was a heckuva trip down memory lane for me hahaha

*The outro is so adorable!
Thanks for the review Brother...it does look like a raucous time! =) Another great game that Im currently playing is Chivalry 2, very intense multiplayer medieval melee game.
I have been living under a rock! WTF!!!, I didn't know such a great game existed
Hey that's me commanding the lines! Long love the pile
Dude, great vid. Really enjoyed how each talking point had a sensical transition. You've got talent and I look forward to seeing your content on my feed 🫡
o7 Thank you for watching :D
Thank you for uploading my game review at 2:02! My feelings and opinions on the game have not changed. My furry fandom is still strong to this day ✊
Never heard of thisngame until right now. It seems exactly what I was hoping Running With Rifles was.
Played in 2018 the last time but about to give it another go again! Looks like its come a super long way since then
Reminds me of battle bit a little how people don’t take it too seriously and just try to have fun.
To show people the level you get to with people... I love Guardsman 6:30 Guy is so great to tank with!
Guardsman is great to tank with. Dude once got so pissed at the enemy tank line that he got a public Bardiche like 2 or 3 hexes away, drove it up to the front lines and kept daring the wardens to kill it while I struggled to gun hahaha
It was glorious. I should find a way to get that incident into a video hahaha
3:18 Hahaha, I wasn't expecting to see 3D Benchies as game pieces 🤣
I wasn't finished modeling barges yet when I made that (I used the barges dropping off toy soldiers for other videos later on) so I just said screw it, benchy will do 😆
I almost put a gun on a benchy to show a gunboat too lol
I hope this games community stays healthy
Cardinal rule of Foxhole should be ABH: Always Be Helpful. You see someone building, digging, bleeding, hauling...pitch in for 5-10 minutes.
People severely underestimate how powerful simple teamwork and community can be.
Force multiplication is not well studied by most people.
Based take, you can make people very happy with very minimal effort
Hmmmm I'll be honest, I'm slightly afraid of deviating from my usual content, this video is as far as I got from that I think hahaha
@@BlueLaminate That's alright. No pressure. Just do what you do best. Cheers!
This is the best ad for foxhole
Thanks, Siege camp pls hire me hahaha jk XD
So..... when I replied to that comment, I didn't know that you we're a foxhole dev. Oops o.o
Thanks for the game :)
Guardsman is my favorite person to tank with. I love him.
If we joinedgame on last November, we will be the same group of players
Didn't expect you recorded me then, thank you ,with our glorious assault bro ✊
Man bus driver at 2:07 Neon Tango is a war hero! o7
There isnt enough jungles Guerilla Warfare
I really wanna see more jungles as jungles are a really fun place to fight Almost like the vietnam war
There are some places full of bushes to hide in, I think it's in my "guess I'll be a pirate" video. We hid like 12 guys in bushes while waiting for a poor soul to pass by
@@BlueLaminate RIP warden logi O7
Yes! I mentioned this the other day. Though I was in favor of thick forests, as jungles would be muddy and I hate mud in this game. But yeah, we need terrain that can accommodate a decent fight and is difficult for armor to penetrate. Give the inf more responsibility / opportunity. Especially late game
The baths is basically Vietnam
Learning how to tank from Aquilea should be considered a masterclass.
thank you, i never knew this game existed. i cant wait.
Genuinely, how ON EARTH does like EVERY new content creator end up playing bloody collie xD GLORY TO CALLAHAN.
Well, there is Bambam..... and I started as a Warden but um... oops. lol
6:16 'tanking requires two or three people' actively shows a multi-boxer
The fact i know a lot of these players make me happy
And now Anvil Empires is comming, same thing but medieval war
I would love a Star Wars game like this
Well some people use star wars mods, like lasers instead of tracers and clone troopers instead of soldiers.
Say love your vid and do hope to see you in the battlefield either as a friendly or enemy, but I think you missed an underrated role which be combat engineer
Description: helps build Frontline fortifications like wt and pillboxes and repairs tanks to reduce repair time and risk. And loots the battlefield for handy items like cutlers or lunairs
True. I even had a combat engineer clip in the vid where I got flattened by an HTD lmao
Also probably should've put in loot goblin/scavenger HAHAHAHA
Curious fact, they are working on a medieval version of this game. GONNA BE EPIC.
Yeah.
Siegecamp, please let me get through the alpha testing lottery hahaha
@@BlueLaminate hahahaha 100% this!!! man you made me want to come back to Foxhole! cya in the battlefield!
This game is a job
I only played a little bit because my PC is aging to hell and back but I love shit like this
I hope Siege Engine does well with the medieval game they're making cause good lord, if Foxhole is anything to go off of, shit like this is always a gem
I really hope Anvil Empires does well without taking too much from Foxholes playerbase :D
I've been trying to get in the Alpha tests for Anvil Empires, but I haven't won the RNG lottery for a test invite code yet hahahhaa
first video that got me interested in this game. I took it out of my wishlist cause i heard the people in it suck.
Great video!! It’s made me purchase the game.
Hope you enjoy, just remember to take breaks sometimes if you... really get into it hahaha :D
(I still don't know how to build most of the big things hahaha)
I hope you find a role in the game that you actually enjoy :)
@@BlueLaminate I'm actually quite willing to actually try this time, so much so that I might leave the game running in the main menu for 2 hours so I haven't got a choice.
I like these types of games, but never played one this... complex.
And I am willing to learn so I can have le epic funny war moments.
This looks like alot fun!
6:27 Literally frenchie from the boys
Holy shit, how have I never heard of this game?
I forgot about the corpse pile, good memories.
"The pile is eternal" - Some guy at Plankhouse last war
1:02 I WAS THERE!!! :D (off-screen , but i was there)
5:51, that was personal
this video made me buy the game and its awesome
I am learning russian due to foxhole, so I can tank with russian, friod = forward, nazat= backward, daway= go or lets go kill them bastards
Also about teams just being friendly to eachother, I got healed by a colonial medic as a warden three times before finally getting killed.
* writes those russian words down *
Poyekhali! Let's GO! 😊
Great video
I love this game I got like 5 years ago or so, but to difficult for me to much grind
0:55 "Teamwork is incredible important" as a Widow gets stuck in between two BIKES. And yes, this actually works, and due to the way infantry-carried AT works, bikes are an absolute priority threat to tanks. If one gets behind you and blocks off your mobility, you're dead.
This is why they don't let us MPF pallets of bikes.
The bike anti-tank meta would be too powerful. :D
great review
9:03 "Some people switch factions every war, and that is fine."
- Spoken like a casual Warden
Well, I am a casual warden on my warden wars so you're right I guess hahahha
this game looks epic
I do every role from infantry to tanker to artillery, to builder and logi but maybe soon navy
Bro is happy he’s have social interaction.
“high priest of the Pile” 😅😅😅
Ya sold me on it. I just got Foxhole on the summer sale. ^^
I hope I'm not a bad influence, hope you have fun hahaha
@@BlueLaminate We'll see XD Right now Im looking into the videos you suggested to see how to play >x
buying this rn
Only game that is like foxhole would be specific servers for arma 3 liberation. Logistics are necessary and are all handled by real players. Artillery is operated by actual people and being called in over radio by actual people. Getting inserted to an AO or battle is done by ground or air logistics units.
* realizes that I bought Arma 3 but never installed it *
introvert in irl extrovert in games
This game sounds interesting. I heard you mention "spotter" when talking about the artillery. That position is called the forward observer. I'm curious how deep the gameplay is for that role. Are you calling in grid coordinates? Clicking a spot to direct the artillery? How does that work?
Well, I think we just say spotter because it's quicker hahaha
Usually the spotter has binoculars and are in squad chat with the artillery crew.
Hell Let Loose God Mode
Also it has Trains Logistic if i remember
This game is brilliant!
it is :D
How is it possible that you don't have more subscribers ? i've just find your channel and i already love it ( all furries are not wierdos tho TwT)
Well... I do only cover a niche indie game for now hahaha
On the furries bit, I probably should've put context on the steam review shown in the video, that's just a running gag in the community. If you see the foxhole art on reddit or the discord though, you will find a good number of furries tbh lol
@@BlueLaminate oh i know very mush what you mean no need for context XD tho it's maybe a niche game but i think the most important is the person play it, i don't play foxhole but still watch video cause i like the youtubers that do videos on it
Finally, Planetside 3
2:00 so it was you
🤭
I must try this game omfg 😮
screw switching teams. those goblins will never get my aid.
Foxhole is a game that is impossible to explain to someone. They just have to try it xD
