@@JeffreySteinmanReviews - Heck when I was at Target once I saw a new deluxe doll of og Ariel and I want her cause she not only looks like Ariel but her second outfit is the pink dress which I’ve not seen for an Ariel doll since at least the release of the og film.
The Halle Bailey face sculpts are gorgeous and the sisters look amazing. Of course with my biased the dark skin black girl is my favorite. She is the prettiest to me
They legit did the same thing to the Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor playline 2 pack I bought it on sale for 5 dollars and he can't take off his pants or shoes also the live action Hasbro Aladdin as well
I’ll definitely try getting the 7 sister pack once they become available and perhaps rebody them onto mtm bodies. Their faces all look so well sculpted. However, I just don’t understand why Mattel has to give Ariel and Ariel alone the cartoonishly large eyes! Her face sculpt is very pretty but I’m probably going to get her eyes repainted.
Although I think it’s a little off putting most of the Ariel dolls have different feet but I think that’s probably a cash grab based on how in the movie she was able to have different shoes/ go back to feet: back to fins
Yeah… a mermaid doll with actual « fabric » tail and bra and special stand shouldn’t be called « deluxe ». And the fabric is still going to be paper anyway xD oh well… times are changing
I feel like it would be iffy for them since they don't know which sisters people would gravitate towards. There'd be some that would totally sell out but then there would definitely be others that are just sitting on the shelves.
Maybe if it could work if Disney ever decided to do a follow up animated series that would give each sister more time to gain individual interest from the audience
Great vid! ❤ I defo agree against the molded on clothes on dolls, part of the fun, be it for people who play with their dolls, or those who simply unbox them to use for photography/art project etc, is to give us the option to redress them, even if the male dolls got tacky trousers or shorts, i'd take it over molded on clothing. As an Ursula fan, i'm excited to see more imagery on that doll/action figure, but agree that she is quite lackluster, imo the testacles should have been longer and made out of a sorta rubbery plastic for play/creating scenaries of her capturing someone with them, instead she seems to just be a solid ornament with some brushable hair and a torso that rotates, with moveable arms 😔
Angel Kent does such an amazing job with the resurrections he has in Mattel! And yes the deluxe Ariel is GORGEOUS!! Hopefully $25 at the most. I wonder if Ursula and King Triton are covered up to stop the pearl clutchers from complaining (like that would stop them from complaining 🙄) I’m really hoping the Disney store Ariel will look better than the stock images. The last Ariel doll 😂😂😂
I agree with you on all your points here. Ersala should definantly be a DOLL with a very ‘curvy’ type body and not an action figure. The Disney Ariel does not look like the actress at all! Mostly it’s just fine… fine.
Something about Mermaid dolls... I feel like they should just have 100% fabric tails that slide over their legs, even if they're not meant to come off. Maybe it's me thinking with a 90s kid mind with all the mermaid Barbies I had. I feel the same about Ursula too, just make her tentacles fabric, sew the little tubes, and stuff them.
Also, there's something so eye-roll-worthy about Disney's quaking at everyone under the sea needing to be fully covered up FABRIC. Triton can't be shirtless, Ursula can't show cleavage, Ariel needs a tube top. Disney it's alright..... nipples, body-fat, and cleavage aren't going to corrupt the children.
@@Tundrea3 the fabric tail would still have articulation, it would have legs or just an articulated molded body inside, just the outside would be fabric
@@memorian8472 I know fabric tails can have articulation but I find you can get more details with plastic, I will say that plastic tails can be really cheap looking but when they are good they’re good. But I wish companies would experiment with silicon tails more they could be the best kind
A hungry person MEEEE TOOOOO. I really detest dolls that have legs + a cloth mermaid tail “costume” and I was seriously disappointed that when Mattel finally made the mermaid Barbies I spend my childhood wishing they’d make, that none of them had knee joints & many didn’t have hip joints either. How are they going to properly sit on rocks singing & brushing their hair if they can’t bend? (LoL) Even the MGA mermaze dolls don’t have a knee joint and it’s such a glaring oversight in an otherwise nicely designed doll.
Hi The Doll Daddy! Nice to meet you and great video! I'm a male too and I gladly pre-ordered the mermaid version of Ariel! I can't wait to receive her! As I know to use silicone and to sculpt molds, I will make her a silicone tail that I will put above the plastic tail that she has, it will be more realistic! 😀 I definately will also buy the Limited Editon dolls of Ariel and Vanessa from DisneyStore! 😍 I'm patiently waiting when they will come out! 😀 I can't wait for them too! 😍
I like the Ariel dolls, and may buy the sisters but thats it. Im not really into the action figure look. I guess those are geared toward the little kiddos. Its just not for me. Oh, I can't stand the Ursula action figure, thats a disappointment. I do hope others enjoy them.
I hope they give them all the nice quality hair that animated Ariel gets! They tend to give mermaids nice hair because Disney knows they are gonna be uses in the bath and polypropylene just can't keep up with being constantly wet and soapy.
Action figures for children, but such that you don't dare give them to your child as a toy because they are expensive and can break or get damaged during play?
@@JeffreySteinmanReviews I wonder if they're waiting to release the official images of that doll till they're closer to the release of the film to keep it more of a surprise or after the release of the film.
The tail gimmick doll is such a waste of development & production money. The way she’s made refers her useless for any other play except the tail gimmickry, and dollars to donuts that mechanism will break fairly quickly under real play conditions and the doll will just be another hunk of plastic added to a landfill. I’d have much rather seen Mattel put that money to good use by oh, I dunno, making Ursula into an ACTUAL DOLL not a shitty action figure? Putting real pants on Eric? Making the sister set have nicer looking tail flukes? Literally anything else!
I understand, back in the 90-00s what you would get as "Limited Edition" would just be sold as a playline doll for children. What they produce now doesn't have anything to do with it being for children vs not. It's all about money saving for these companies, so even children are getting short-changed on beautiful dolls.
I absolutely hate the “it’s for children do it doesn’t need to be good” argument. Like children don’t recognize cheap, poorly designed toys and want better? Because I sure did as a kid. The things I want in dolls as an adult collector are exactly the things I longed for as a child as well.
I’ve never been that into The Little Mermaid so the fact I want one of these Ariel dolls says a lot about them.
Haha right? She’ll get ya

i wonder what significance those two sisters have in the movie if theyre putting Ariel in a 3 pack with them?
I’d be curious too cause Hasbro did something similar with only two other sisters.

That's what I'm saying!! Back in the day it wouldn't even be a question that your mermaid doll would come with an actual fabric tail!!
I wish they’d sell the 7 mermaid set as individual dolls. I bet in this economy they’d make more $.
No. If they did that some of the sisters would be impossible to find for sure. All together is easier.
Yeah options are nice, maybe they’ll drag this out like Jakks Pacific is doing with the Encanto dolls and keep spitting out new sets even years later.

Mmmm... I expected more movie-accurate fins on ShopDisney's, especially on the LE doll. After all, it's their IP.
