You know what bothers me most? The excess of PINK. After Nickelodeon started to produce Winx Club, they put pink IN EVERYTHING and to me its unconfortable for two things: 1 - Pink its the Flora color, its HER personality and palete, and, 2 - They're reforcing and assuming that just girls can wear pink and the "girls world" its JUST PINK. If you see the beggining of Winx you will see how they're more natural with theyr paletes in general.
Flora has always worn pink, so did Stella as she liked sunset colors. Bloom wore pink from time to time but it was never any of the girls' personality traits
@mrsnobody2637 I totally get what you mean. But colours in shows mean something, like the association with the color. If a character design has pink, it says something about the characters personality. Bloom being hot headed and impulsive, pink would not really communicate that, exept its like a hot pink. I think that's why the mash top is there, something "edgy" to work with the cute pink. Or I'm wrong & I hope I make sense
I feel like we're moving past y2k, it has had it's moment for a good 3 or 4 years now. I don't mind them redesigning looks if they weren't so damn UGLY like...? It's giving disney channel teen show fashion... like what a mom would think cool kids wear. 100% agree with what lisa said these feel so 2012-2015 so it's kind of ironic that in their attempt to refresh their looks, they did something so outdated
@Andy_0017 I agree that Y2K is in its way out. But it is still better than what they are doing with the costumers. I also feel like 2000s fashion looks very organic in Winx. For me, they are the embodiment of 2000s
I feel super old saying this, but 3d animation doesn't bring me joy. I wish 2d traditional animation made a huge comeback, it used to look so much better back then.
As an animator, unfortunately most of us agree and are tired of boring 3D animation. 2D looks so much better and is a lot more fun to do if you get paid properly, and that is never the case.. big companies just don't give you time to animate properly, everything has to be fast.
I KNOW RIGHT! She is supposed to be that avantgarde preppy princess, yet they make her look like she's thrifting so hard to look fashionable in 80s or something.
To the age group that will watch stella civilian clothes probably look very fashionista. Kids and adults often have different tastes in fashion example in barbie fashion fairytale when i was a kid i loved all the barbie looks and hated the villain collection after becoming a adult i see some clothes including the main dress was very kid taste friendly focus and the villain collection actually is the one that is more fashion forward. The same happens with winx club i though the trix were ugly now i would their outfit
I think what bothers me most is that everything looks ao desaturated/muted/pastel. Stella looks super washed out. They suddenly became allergic to primary red for Musa (it looks more like a muted burgundy). The greens on Flora are a pistachio color instead of bright and lush. I wonder if its a choice or limitation of how the show is made?
Omg yes, the colours are so weirdly washed out especially for fantastical kids show and removes some of the key elements of the girls, like Blooms bold red hair looks like ite been bleached or sm and most of the blue in her design(especially her eyes) just looks off
idk if its bc the rendering and shading is not finalized... it looked very inconsistent throughout the teasers and even other teasers before had a better shading work. what we are seeing right now is pretty much a work in progress.
If i'll be honest, this era's revival of y2k fshion in general is desaturated and pastelfied. This isnt just winx club reboot's doing, the whole genz and gen alpha are unironically into this, to the point even im influenced as i feel the edited poster of bloom wearing her og outifit in 3d to be rather uncanny.
i also loved the seafoam/turquoise for bloom, it just looked so good with her hair! i don't get why they keep pushing pink on her, bring those green-blues back 😤 also mad about stella's colours, she looks so washed out in all pale yellow
Well its not like that actually 3d is hard to animate plus if you want thinner wings you'll only get wings that are just cropped off from the 2d animation plus we're not 3d animaters so we wont understand much y'know y'know? Its hard to animate all high quality plus it will cost much more then usual we might not get the reboot if the workers quit 😅😅😅
I also seen that it takes more longer to animate the wings for designs and stuff since they will have to add sparkles for their old vibes its their own style after all and the wings arents still sure for them yet either those are one heck hard if its going to feel alive moving around and stuff the animaters must like to add hidden details and secrets so yeah maybe we might get more better view of the backgrounds too 😃👍
She's also way too pale and I really dislike the side pink thing from the top and the entire color palette and I find the star on the chocker tacky and isn't she a princess I wish she has jewelry aswell.
15:30 "Making shows for children you are creating aesthetics that are going to influence their taste for the rest of their llives" this! Brilliant insight! OG Winx altered my brain chemistry, the reboot doesn't have to be y2k or even 2025 trendy, but it should be just aesthetically good, coherent and hopefully made with love and to be loved by people over the world!
"I can smell the plastic in here"² To me, it smells like that translucid bendable funky colored plastic that was popular in the 2000 for school materials LOL
its feels like they totally designed everything with how itll look as a doll in mind. like those thick, solid-looking plastic wings? bloom's outfits in general look like something you'd see on a modern barbie doll
as an animation student, we started dabbling into 3d modelling and animating and, adding transparency/transparent texture is genuinely extremely easy and quick... especially since, as a studio, they must already have settings pre-made for different textures that they can just copy-paste... maybe they're using a strange program idk but.... kind of worrying 💀
I hate orange and I hate like green but Stella absolutely ROCKED it in the og. Hate how they ruined it with the excessive yellow (that’s not even close to something resembling the sun 😭😭😭)
This is why individuality is so important and catering to each character's style helps us resonate with them stylistically and recognise them easily. It helps to figure out the audience's favourite which is great for marketing. For eg. I'd classify their style types like this because of how recognisable they are: (I'm not the best at descriptions of them but it's the best way I can) Bloom: girl next door, casual, flirty, cute Palette: Pastel yellow, dark blue, light blue, peony pink Stella: fashionista, diva, chic, detailed (has the most fashion sense) Pallete: Orange, light blue, yellow, green, gold Flora: bohemian, floral, eclectic, feminine Pallete: Pink, green, orange, gold, pastel pink Musa: edgy, grunge, tomboyish, rockstar Pallete: Red, dark purple, dark blue, black/white Tecna: cyber y2k, alternative, sharp, academic Pallete: Lilac, white, chartreuse, grey, green, metallic silver Aisha: sporty, streetstyle, practical, dynamic Pallete: Lavender, turquoise, army green, pastel violet, pastel blue, pastel pink It's like stereotypes in a way. You have your girl next door protagonist in Bloom, your resident rich stylish popular girl in Stella, Flora is the hipster wallflower with the shy personality, Musa is the punk rocker chick who is passionate about music, Tecna is our resident nerd and tech genius who is probably the smartest one at school, Aisha is the jock/athlete who's competitive and always the most physically ready for activity. And of course they're all very nuanced in those stereotypes. That's why i loved Winx Club growing up
They likely started this far too long ago, gave up and then started again but were too lazy to update the fashion and quality to be more up to animation standards today.
I don’t even think they care is corporations give afck about their franchises we wouldn’t have atrocity like the monster high MOVIES not the doll, the doll where cute.
I’m really not a fan of the transformation outfits. They’re just way, _waaaaaaay_ to busy. SO much is going on. Those initial leaks were so much better. They were simple, signifying the beginning of the Winx Club’s journey
It's kind of insane because the og show had amazing fashion and they had much less resources to design them compared to now where people are literally making video essays about fashion trends and making predictions on future trends like genuinely no excuse for why the character designs aren't up to date with current fashion
@@awhimsyreader9015 for the original show they had hired actual stylists to develop each girl's outfit and overall style. Why didn't they do the same here? 😭
Idk I’m gen alpha (11) and I used to be obsessed with Winx when I was 4-9 I stopped when I was 9 tho because it got removed from the website I watched it on
honestly concerned the transformation outfits look like that because they're tryin to show less skin with the short short skirts but that doesn't mean it had to look like ice skating PLUS about the pink! I was one of those kid girlies resentful of pink and how it was forced on me constantly, but I was fine with Winx in their girly girly girls story because there were so many cute alternatives to pink including in the main character. So I get sad to a personal degree about how it got pinkier with time. Pink-leaning girls already will tune in to girly media, but this no longer bridges the gap to kids who don't feel represented by the forced feminine aesthetic.
Waiting for fan artists to redesign these outfits. If fan art can make outfits better than the official designs, you've got a terrible problem on your hands. Also, Stella took an unusual path for a light fairy with orange in G1. That made her stand out from the contemporaries. And I'd say orange is an underrated color. You can equate yellow to something gross, but not with orange.
not only stella’s eyeshadow matches with her hair, but also her skin blends with her hair, bc she’s so pale. she’s a fairy of the sun(also moon, but it was forgotten by the creators in later seasons, soo let’s leave it at that for now), she has to be tan. also i would love her to have glittery blue eyeshadow. idk why but you see the vision right?
There's too much pink. Pink everywhere in the girls' clothes, transformations too. The transformations could have been a bit more basic, for a first level fairy they're a bit busy but they're nice at least, in the concept art. In the actual teaser, the clothes look like latex or spandex, much of the texture is lost (especially compared to the concept art), the glitter is underwhelming and the wings look like cardboard. Moreover, I went to look back to the design for the Lost Kingdom and I noticed how bleak this looks in comparison. I'm not saying it's not colourful, it certainly is, but The Lost Kingdom was Vibrant, the colours popped, but here the colours look a bit muted to me. The flatness of the clothes compared to the texture of the air and face is giving me whiplash. Fortunately, these are details that can be adjusted, this is just a teaser and there's time until the full thing comes out. But you know who looked fantastic and perfect? The Trix! Oof they really got them right! I'm a bit sad to (probably) lose Aisha's arc though. And Bloom's blue and yellow palette. Anyway as long as the plot's solid and they don't make it too childish I'll be happy and give it a look.
Yeah, it's really sad, but the general western audience will always gravitate more to 3d, even if artistically speaking it's a lot shittier. It's why I love anime so much, because they've committed to 2d and celebrate the personality and humor that those animations bring. Personally I feel that with this type of semi realistic rendering, you really can't do such exaggerated proportions, it looks too uncanny valley. Probably kids won't care though,
@@LucasSantos-ss6ou 3d is expensive too though? Especially in terms of fx and the fact that everything needs to be a fully rendered 3d model as opposed to just a drawing. You can definitely tell that they cut costs by buying a lot of generic assets though, which looks ugly
I will never take seriously those people who say: "This is made for a new generation." To defend the product from any kind of criticism. I'm sure they're going to be the majority of the audience. Edit: Why does Stella have bangs when she's transformed?
16:00 its so sad too because shows and movies like arcane and spiderverse prove how incredible 3d animation CAN look but they always go for the miraculous style
A style similar to arcane or spiderverse does require a bigger budget though, and they sometimes use a combination of 3d and hand drawn animation I do agree though
@@peksioart6706 of course it requires a bigger budget, but in my opinion the winx reboot WOULD make that moneyy back if they actually went closer to that direction and if it was actually made well but theyre too shortsighted to see since theyd rather have a quick cash-grab
I just wish they stuck to the original colors and personalities of the girls and honestly the guys too. They’re in college, they’re fairies and they’re fashion icons. Let them be grown!!
I appreciate you giving the Reboot designs a fair shake as you pointed out the positives and the negatives of these new designs. On the Winx Subreddit, it's been a nonstop avalanche of hate towards the Reboot's designs and barely any of them give criticisms beyond "It's different from the original". I Definitely agree that Stella has way too much yellow in her design. They should have tried balancing the yellow with some pale blues to subtly reference her Moon powers. Given this is coming out in 2025, there might be hope that the designs are polished up a bit for the final prodct.
It's distressing to see so many people hate on reboots for no reason. At best, it's a longing for a different time and at worst a tool to degrade today's youths.
I am just so fuckin sick of so much of child programming being 3D animation bc I personally just think it looks cheap and ugly most of the time. Okay, while watching the video Ive been able to put my finger on it a bit more. It looks too smooth and cold. Often it’s not expressive enough or it looks uncanny when it is trying to be expressive. That, combined with the lackluster voice acting in this from what we’ve seen is nOT IT. Oddly, it seems that specifically 3D seems aimed at younger audiences as well. Especially, after so much kids’ programming has come out since then, that nails that the balance between darker themes while staying family friendly, I think it isn’t too crazy to have hoped for a “girls’” show to also be allowed that. Perhaps that will still be the case but I am skeptical that this won’t give Miraculous Ladybug (no shade to those that like that show).
I have been literally CRYING that they changed Magic Winx forms from the ones you showed to what we have now, THANK YOU for validating me, they were SO PERFECT 😭🙏
If you dont like the animation in the trailer, its been said that rainbow animated and put this together very hastily in order to get ahead of the leaker who's been spreading around the reboot's storyboards and designs. Rainbow is working together with Hampa studio to animate the show, and they've been said to be involved in every episode. The animation should look much better than this in the final version, or at the very least somewhat different.
I like the wings or at least the concept for Stella. I love Stella having blue because she is the fairy of sun and MOON. Either a silver or blue for the moon elements
I love the witches outfits but, I hope they have Cloud Tower for their own school. I would hate it to see witches at a fairy school, they would learn nothing because they aren't fairies. I hope those "witches" in the background are just alt fairies 🙏 (their outfits eat)
Ive seen some fan 2d renditions of the reboot transformations and they look so much better. I think its the different medium that makes the outfits look awkward. The glitter and sparkles look great in 2D form but in 3D form with a semi realistic artstyle is an eyesore.
As long as it’s still in its development phase, nothing is official (particularly the outfits thank God), but I still have my hopes up for the retelling of the first season, even though I wonder how they’ll make it work when Aisha is already here and her character is tied in so many characters arcs in season 2. And I don’t get why they changed the Winx outfits so much and almost kept the same ones for the Trix, the contrast hurts a bit 😭
Btw you guys, they aren’t finished with it yet. Winx has a history of releasing season trailers and the actual season having different things. Example: the s6 trailer has different casual outfits and different bloomix wings, and the s7 trailer has a transformation sequence without final effects.
winx is something i came back to in middle school purely for the outfits as i was coming up with my personal style. Having them all look so different was great because you could see yourself and a style you liked that fit with it. I remember early musa and aisha and darcy being characters who's fashion i really loved when i was in middle school and trying to emulate them.
This video made me realise how great the og palettes were and why I fell in love with them. Now that I think about it , it's the first time I saw a girl with fire powers not being in pink or red (looking at you Jean Grey). Winx was definitely ahead its time.
by now we are creating our own alternate reality winx show based on the Liza Fevral commentary- i would like to add that tecna should be a knitter or into fiber art. computers were created by weaving copper wires and i think that should be a thing in our alternate winx show
You honestly have more nice things to say than i can think of... I guess we just have to keep in mind that this is indeed a kids' show. Overall, I'm not a fan of anything aesthetically speaking. The style of the animation looks all over the place. It feels like they bought a lot of 3d assets for really cheap, and they don't mesh together stylistically. Totally agree with you about the fashion, it feels so disney channel 2012-2015. It's ironic that they tried to refresh the looks and ended up with something so outdated. Like yes of course our generation will always have a bias towards the original looks, but these new outfits just can't compete. There's this weird sports athleisure vibe with a lot of them that just feel so wrong? Og winx also had some of those but it was at least infused with some retro futurism to fit the aesthetic of a different world. Trix do look pretty great though, but it's because that type of latex body suit look just really suits them.
To me, the outfits seem less like they're trying to emulate the 2010s but more the late Gen Z vision ot the early 2020s. Stella's Dua Lipa hair and cutout, Aisha's subversive basics and Musa's low-waisted layered look very much give current-day Old Navy commercial. I think the new Winx could benefit a lot from being a capsule of 2020s fashion since the original series is kind of notorious for how Y2K it is and the later seasons are very 2010s. As for the fairy forms, I don't mind them so far. I'm a fan of the sunbeam-looking straps on Stella's and Flora's flower bodice and ESPECIALLY her braid. It all looks really cute so far and if the leaks are to be believed, Tecna is going to look amazing. I'm keeping my hopes up for this reboot
That looks more plastic. I do like the the jacket but it feels too plastic for flora. Flora worse more flowy garments like. I would cool with it if it were a different garmet.
Ok this is a leak thing so scroll if you don’t want to know but… Yes. The witches are at alphea. Because in the reboots lore cloud tower was destroyed. HOWEVER the trix now use the ruins as a base/hideout. I think they’re hopefully doing this because planning to address the demonisation of the witches in the original show. By physically separating them from the trix’s actions via literal space.
When you were talking about yellow I keep thinking Mami from Madoka Magica she is yellow magical without using too much yellow in her outfit she uses lots coffee brown and some white.
When it comes to the wings, I won't lie, they do kinda look like doll wings, however if it's only Stella's wings, I won't be too upset about the silver elements instead of just being fully transparent, bcs I think the silver elements tie in well with her moon based powers as well, bcs she's the fairy of the Sun and Moon
I really agree with your comment about the fashion being behind already. And this seems to be for no apparent reason? I guess they want the show to be 'timeless' but the girls to also be fashionable. But you can't have both.
I personally think that being fashion forward is less important than giving each character their personal style without contradicting world building. That way characters don't feel as dated.
7:14 I also think they could have pulled inspiration from different aesthetics and the winxs old designs. After all kids are more online then ever before (don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a good thing) so they'll probably recognize elements of the aesthetics. Meanwhile old fans gets to appreciate the elements from the old designs. I think it would also help create a unique look from other modern cartoons and also help the reboot stand out from the old show since it would both be taking inspiration from the past and the present.
I've not seen many videos like this, so I don't know if it's a common thing or not, but I like how you analysed more than just their fashion. It was definitely the main focus, but you also looked at things like the way they designed the buildings/architecture, lighting, the specific style of 3D animation and rendering they're going for, the tech and devices, the look of their powers, even the voice acting. You're not solely talking about the characters and their fashion, but the style of the show in its entirety. It feels like a more comprehensive look at the show and its design process.
Stella loves fashion and this is what they do to her. I am so mad for her lol I am super mad at her bangs too and the fact that Stella used to be tan!!! what are these decisions?? I wish she at least had more blue instead of pink at least. I always associated Stella with blue and orange/yellow because of her mom's moon side. Why is there so much pink on everyone anyways? (and this is coming from me, a huge barbie and pink lover. Pink is amazing but i don't understand the incorpation of pink in all of them and it's not even a pink done justice.) I just really hope the plot is at least good On the bright side, my other girl Icy is gorgeous and i'm glad Edit: The aespa ae pic suprised me for some reason! lol shoutout to my girl NIngning
12:11 Yes! THIS! A million times THIS! I remember in the first season, when they had that ball with the Red Fountain students, their gowns (which remain iconic in my eyes) were similar to their transformation outfits, without being too obvious and keeping their own styles and designs. They worked SO well!
That would have cost WAY too much. We all agree Spider-verse and Arcane are peak animation but I don't think that it would be productive if everyone tried to emulate it.
I don’t think so Winx DESERVES better! We deserve better! After season 3, the series has been pure shit, IMO. That style of animation would show they actually care about making it right this time.
Okay I've always looooved Winx club and growing up it still is but like the character design isn't it. I like how they gave Aisha/Layla braids which is rlly cute but like Stella who was my fav growing up isn't it. Like Stella is a fashion girlie she wanted to be a fashion designer and made her own clothes and had a boutique. The fact that like in all the new seasons that they tried to do with Winx club her outfits aren't eating. Also as a girl that looks like Aisha the braids are nice but her outfit feels to........casual? Like all their outfits feel way to casual. Because these where the girls that wore high heels and crop tops to class and now the sweats and leggings are kinda rlly boring ngl. I really hope either they try and stop redoing Winx club and have it rest or if they countinue to do it that they take in some consideration and possibly research the designs better or go back to the older style of animation (Season 1 and 2)
7:57. That's always the main issues I had with people redesigning their transformations. They would just give all of the girls really generic color codes that just said water...plant....light.. And it always bothered me the most when they would do that with bloom. I love Bloom's cool color scheme because you would never know that this cool coated gorgeous woman holds the power of a dragon that can sneeze universes into existence. Like her hair and early personality was all we needed.
Copy and pasted my tweets about the trailer here: I love the individuality within the Winx Club reboot's new designs but I wish their clothing was more up to date like it was back in the 2000s. The cutouts Aisha and Musa have are kinda edgy but I wouldn't say they look fashionable right now (especially Stella). I think their designs are still gonna get some kind of overhaul within the next year this comes out so they're probably not final, but I'd love to see more understanding of what gen z is wearing now for this show and just for fashion-forward media for younger audiences in general. I'm still very excited for the reboot and I think the art style looks cute, but this is the one thing I'm iffy about. It's no deal breaker for me; I just don't understand why a lot of new kids/teen media I've seen has such obviously outdated fashion. No notes on the Trix though. They look kinda perfect (Personally I love high waisted bottoms so I hope they don't go completely out of style lol)
What kills me about Stella’s every day outfit is that they designed it in a darker yellow/ almost light orange pallet, while toying with a darker orange pallet but opted for the washed out yellow and pink combo.
They look like they were designed for toys/dolls. That’s such a pet peeve of mine, when it’s obvious that a character is designed for toy sales and not for the show/movie (Barbie does this a lot)
i think they removed the earlier designs because they listened to the fans, and the fans complained about the designs now that we have new designs, fans regret complaining but i think that they should've went with the simplistic outfits with the detail of the new ones, but less chaotic
Omg, you reminded me of the iceskating competition outfits they did, in 3D, for one of the Concert clip! (A Layla one, uh idk Dreaming in my way?) and yeah they're very similar
There's no way I'm ever touching this abomination. If Secret of the Lost Kingdom can make 3D look less uncanny, then this thing coming out, what, eleven years later? has absolutely no excuse to not look at least on par. Looking at seasons 4 and onward I have absolutely zero faith for the story. I would love to have Winx in the spirit of season 1-3 again, but I doubt that's something we'll ever get again. I'm an adult now in comparison to when I started watching Winx, but even as a little kid I started finding the show absolutely grating from season 4 onward. Oh well. At least we got three good to great seasons!
I definitely think the fandom has been super critical and the team has been working best to meet demands, but I think the other civilian leaks were better (except last year's Stella and Bloom looks).
As always I completely agree with everything you said, The possibility to get the perfect Winx iteration is low and already impossible when we see the sneak peaks but it still has potential to be good, It's at least still way more accurate to our idea of what Winx is than fate was, I would also like gender and sex diversity for all Win worldbuilding class and species (fairy, witch, specialist, neutral wizard/mage, magical creature, little nymph, pixies, mermaid, random planet citizen etc...) good plot, fashion and drama, a satisfying power scaling and awesome friendship lessons is all i can wish for with this reboot. nice video keep it up and let's hope rainbow will see this.
I grew up watching winx and I’m currently studying animation and I’m going to be honest , these outfits SCREAM toy design or corporate involvement, they were not designed with actual fashion in mind the winx original desings where it was designed by actual Italian fashion desingers that worked for Louise Vuitton and many more, this is actually really sad to see as this aspect made winx stick out in the past, it’s one of their highlights but also these aren’t just “toy designs” these are objectively bad designs especially Stella , overall silhouette and excessive, clashing and unnecessary details block the readability, these are key elements in character designs that toy designers and executives do not care about , I hope they see the fans reaction and change some things cuz especially with y2k And most of early 2000’s fashion and overall style coming back winx easily could’ve dominated the animation industry with the same strengths that made them a leader in the European animation industry, however it seems like they got blinded by being under Nickelodeon for too long, I really want to be wrong about this becuase this show has so much potential, both style and story wise , it has lighter fun elements but also heavier storylines, it can be genuinely one of the best animated shows if they write and design it correctly
The everyday outfits are something..idk i wished we couldve gotten something better for them like make flora a bohemian, stella could have like a gyaru inspired look, bloom’s outfit is fine but make the jeans more flared and trade the top for the yellow one with a heart design or something. The transformation outfits have WAY too much going on (especially the wings..) I understand if they wanna individuals them, but idk they just dont look cohesive with one another. The reboot is good tho so im happy abt that and hopefully the dolls will maybe be more detailed??
When I first saw the trailer I felt like it was filmed in the Roblox Winx game. And I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't like the voice acting😖 I really need to rewatch the OG version.
Tecnas outfit reminds me of a dress that was viral on fashiontok this year and had a similar design in terms of how the colour is splayed across her outfit, so to me it doesn't feel too outdated
YESSSS
At the same time, the school was made beige, like they can't even commit to their own pink agenda
@@Jackie-cl2qe yesss like what they thinking about??

I feel super old saying this, but 3d animation doesn't bring me joy. I wish 2d traditional animation made a huge comeback, it used to look so much better back then.
I think so too, but that’s why I’m happy with rewatching the old series rn ahahah
Same girlie, same.
This is precisely how I feel ;--;
@drawsireeillustrationand it's harder lol. People aren't learning it in general anymore either so one day it'll be next to extinct

@@luma4902 The Trix *were* ugly?? Please get your tastebuds checked because their new outfits aren't *that* different 💀💀
Exactly!
Exactly is like they pushed back the age demographic they were targeting like the ppl who grew up in the winx club aren’t idk in college/high school.
White is more modern ig
i also loved the seafoam/turquoise for bloom, it just looked so good with her hair! i don't get why they keep pushing pink on her, bring those green-blues back 😤 also mad about stella's colours, she looks so washed out in all pale yellow
the trix look SO good tho
lol yeah, she looks ill 🤧
It makes sense cause they are complementary colors. They are both warm colors too so they have harmony. So idk wtf they were thinking with pink.
I dislike so much the new wings, they look like cardboard props. They need some transparency and to be thinner to not look like plastic or cardboard.
I agree, if they were thinner and more transparent they would be like stain glass
Yeah i find it weird and unnatural, the wings suit more for fairy dolls
Well its not like that actually 3d is hard to animate plus if you want thinner wings you'll only get wings that are just cropped off from the 2d animation plus we're not 3d animaters so we wont understand much y'know y'know? Its hard to animate all high quality plus it will cost much more then usual we might not get the reboot if the workers quit 😅😅😅
I also seen that it takes more longer to animate the wings for designs and stuff since they will have to add sparkles for their old vibes its their own style after all and the wings arents still sure for them yet either those are one heck hard if its going to feel alive moving around and stuff the animaters must like to add hidden details and secrets so yeah maybe we might get more better view of the backgrounds too 😃👍
@@khindthazin5066ngl ur kinda just making excuses cus the wings in the first winx movie look amazing so
Removing Stella's tan is a crime against nature. : / she's PASTY
not to mention FLORA'S BEAUTIFUL WARM TAN, like where'd all that melanin gooo
and she is literally solaria princess - yes^ the one never saw daylight!
i think they're struggling to balance the colors of their hair and outfit to their skin tone. The artstyle is poorly thought out imo
Also Musa seems more white-washed than in "Fate" :/
I mean she was never tan, I just rewatched the show but she definitely had a very light olive undertone
I HATE Stella’s casual look so much😭😭😭😭 WAY TOO MUCH YELLOW SHE LOOKS LIKE A BANANA
literally, her whole BODY is yellow
pale yellow too and not her orange/green nsdjts
She's also way too pale and I really dislike the side pink thing from the top and the entire color palette and I find the star on the chocker tacky and isn't she a princess I wish she has jewelry aswell.
it also don't look casual at all, it really looks like a skating costume or outfit for idol's stage perfomance
lol banana 😭
15:30 "Making shows for children you are creating aesthetics that are going to influence their taste for the rest of their llives" this! Brilliant insight! OG Winx altered my brain chemistry, the reboot doesn't have to be y2k or even 2025 trendy, but it should be just aesthetically good, coherent and hopefully made with love and to be loved by people over the world!
why are they allergic to giving the winx cute outfits like
Doesn't translate well to printing out cheap dolls outfits.
"I can smell the plastic in here"²
To me, it smells like that translucid bendable funky colored plastic that was popular in the 2000 for school materials LOL
Imo that wouldve been better than this LOL
And its gonna melt like those sandals when exposed to the sun for a while
Damn. You took me back to a dark time lmao
YES OMG
Seriously!! wtf are they doing!?
its feels like they totally designed everything with how itll look as a doll in mind. like those thick, solid-looking plastic wings? bloom's outfits in general look like something you'd see on a modern barbie doll
as an animation student, we started dabbling into 3d modelling and animating and, adding transparency/transparent texture is genuinely extremely easy and quick... especially since, as a studio, they must already have settings pre-made for different textures that they can just copy-paste... maybe they're using a strange program idk but.... kind of worrying 💀
stella's casual outfit looks like an unfinished magical girl design
I hate orange and I hate like green but Stella absolutely ROCKED it in the og. Hate how they ruined it with the excessive yellow (that’s not even close to something resembling the sun 😭😭😭)
This is why individuality is so important and catering to each character's style helps us resonate with them stylistically and recognise them easily. It helps to figure out the audience's favourite which is great for marketing.
For eg. I'd classify their style types like this because of how recognisable they are: (I'm not the best at descriptions of them but it's the best way I can)
Bloom: girl next door, casual, flirty, cute
Palette: Pastel yellow, dark blue, light blue, peony pink
Stella: fashionista, diva, chic, detailed (has the most fashion sense)
Pallete: Orange, light blue, yellow, green, gold
Flora: bohemian, floral, eclectic, feminine
Pallete: Pink, green, orange, gold, pastel pink
Musa: edgy, grunge, tomboyish, rockstar
Pallete: Red, dark purple, dark blue, black/white
Tecna: cyber y2k, alternative, sharp, academic
Pallete: Lilac, white, chartreuse, grey, green, metallic silver
Aisha: sporty, streetstyle, practical, dynamic
Pallete: Lavender, turquoise, army green, pastel violet, pastel blue, pastel pink
It's like stereotypes in a way. That's why i loved Winx Club growing up
As someone familiar with quality 3D work, this feels outdated. The realistic elements likely come from assets they got (maybe even for free)
They likely started this far too long ago, gave up and then started again but were too lazy to update the fashion and quality to be more up to animation standards today.
You should be paid and hired at this point. They just have to look at kpop fashion, its right there
literally especially when u take in consideration they have taken inspiration from kpop before
For the OG first season they had hired a fashion designer for the girls outfits. They should've done that again for the reboot
It's funny lmao their new transformations took inspo from elements of Blackpink's pink venom outfits
fr every time lisa makes these videos i always think they should just hire her
I don’t even think they care is corporations give afck about their franchises we wouldn’t have atrocity like the monster high MOVIES not the doll, the doll where cute.
I’m really not a fan of the transformation outfits. They’re just way, _waaaaaaay_ to busy. SO much is going on. Those initial leaks were so much better. They were simple, signifying the beginning of the Winx Club’s journey
yeah and even though they were a different style(not Versace inspired), they were beautiful
Imagine creating a show for gen alpha kids raised on tiktok and deciding to dress up the main characters as if they lived in 2013 💀
It's kind of insane because the og show had amazing fashion and they had much less resources to design them compared to now where people are literally making video essays about fashion trends and making predictions on future trends like genuinely no excuse for why the character designs aren't up to date with current fashion
@@awhimsyreader9015 for the original show they had hired actual stylists to develop each girl's outfit and overall style. Why didn't they do the same here? 😭
@@CiaLaViragoright?Unbelievable that’s wat I was thinking, is stylist that expensive??
@@bigpunchline especially considering that now they have a way bigger budget compared to when they started out. Make it make sense 🥴
Idk I’m gen alpha (11) and I used to be obsessed with Winx when I was 4-9 I stopped when I was 9 tho because it got removed from the website I watched it on
Nah girl the chaos of shifting topics is why I love this channel
🙂↕️🙂↕️
honestly concerned the transformation outfits look like that because they're tryin to show less skin with the short short skirts but that doesn't mean it had to look like ice skating
PLUS about the pink!
I think the previous outfits they made were cute and appropriate! the update just made it jojo siwa:(
Yeah I was always a fan of red when I was a kid!
You can equate yellow to something gross, but not with orange.
love orange, ppl should wise up to its' beauty ahah

Aww so cute:)
not only stella’s eyeshadow matches with her hair, but also her skin blends with her hair, bc she’s so pale. she’s a fairy of the sun(also moon, but it was forgotten by the creators in later seasons, soo let’s leave it at that for now), she has to be tan. also i would love her to have glittery blue eyeshadow. idk why but you see the vision right?
Why are they allergic to 2D animation? 😔
It's very expensive sadly, if they did make it 2D it would be the creepy puppets we got from season 5 onwards
Probably kids won't care though,
Mb 2.5 d would work for winx too, like the whole spider verse thing
@@LucasSantos-ss6ou 3d is expensive too though? Especially in terms of fx and the fact that everything needs to be a fully rendered 3d model as opposed to just a drawing. You can definitely tell that they cut costs by buying a lot of generic assets though, which looks ugly
Very easy answer: Money
I will never take seriously those people who say: "This is made for a new generation." To defend the product from any kind of criticism. I'm sure they're going to be the majority of the audience.
Edit: Why does Stella have bangs when she's transformed?
I was so excited for Musa's high pigtails to be back but it looks so thin and tacky ):
they should've gone with buns bc they would have the same overall shape as the original but it would look good in this more textured 3D art style
16:00 its so sad too because shows and movies like arcane and spiderverse prove how incredible 3d animation CAN look but they always go for the miraculous style
A style similar to arcane or spiderverse does require a bigger budget though, and they sometimes use a combination of 3d and hand drawn animation
I do agree though
@@peksioart6706 of course it requires a bigger budget, but in my opinion the winx reboot WOULD make that moneyy back if they actually went closer to that direction and if it was actually made well but theyre too shortsighted to see since theyd rather have a quick cash-grab

@ im not expecting the same but i am expecting BETTER
I just wish they stuck to the original colors and personalities of the girls and honestly the guys too. They’re in college, they’re fairies and they’re fashion icons. Let them be grown!!

the miraculous ladybugification of the winx is killing me

I appreciate you giving the Reboot designs a fair shake as you pointed out the positives and the negatives of these new designs. On the Winx Subreddit, it's been a nonstop avalanche of hate towards the Reboot's designs and barely any of them give criticisms beyond "It's different from the original". I Definitely agree that Stella has way too much yellow in her design. They should have tried balancing the yellow with some pale blues to subtly reference her Moon powers.
Given this is coming out in 2025, there might be hope that the designs are polished up a bit for the final prodct.
Seriously the subreddit feels hopeless sometimes! No one likes anything that comes out, even the details that seem really promising
It's distressing to see so many people hate on reboots for no reason. At best, it's a longing for a different time and at worst a tool to degrade today's youths.
Because it *is* bad. It looks cheap. Just because it's '"negative" doesn't mean it's an invalid opinion
adults that can't move on from their childhoods love hating on new things
@@katty5901they think baiting reboot is trendy and the norm it’s ridiculous smh
Totally spies KILLED IT! they kept it 2d and it really feels like a new season with just fresher animation, LUV IT
Yeahh that sense of things being "cold" is something I noticed too. The shadows are so grey to me, they look more like porcelain dolls than people
3d is too expensive to animate. They're already taking a risk remaking the show
@@faracarib9737 Not really a risk imo, the show is dead underwater and has been for many many many years. Honestly after seasons 3 or 4-ish imo
The 2010s Disney sitcom-ification of Winx

I like the wings or at least the concept for Stella. I love Stella having blue because she is the fairy of sun and MOON. Either a silver or blue for the moon elements
I love the witches outfits but, I hope they have Cloud Tower for their own school. I would hate it to see witches at a fairy school, they would learn nothing because they aren't fairies. I hope those "witches" in the background are just alt fairies 🙏 (their outfits eat)
Your channel is not a mess. If the recipe is perfect don’t change it but, duality is important too. Its entertaining.
Ive seen some fan 2d renditions of the reboot transformations and they look so much better.
I think its the different medium that makes the outfits look awkward.
The glitter and sparkles look great in 2D form but in 3D form with a semi realistic artstyle is an eyesore.
Stellas hair being a uniform color makes it appear like she dyes her hair instead of being a natural blond.
I've seen a few more leaks and yes they're def combining Alfea and Cloud Tower😭 the winx and trix were in the same class

I'm sorry to say, but these outfits are all 100% final 😭😭
@@cheralinear992Yessss and they're almost done with transformation sequence
Btw you guys, they aren’t finished with it yet. Winx has a history of releasing season trailers and the actual season having different things. Example: the s6 trailer has different casual outfits and different bloomix wings, and the s7 trailer has a transformation sequence without final effects.
At this point, I’m just praying to god that the story is good.

@24:03 "Stella? Stella are you okay? Stella, do you need help, what's happening?"

winx is something i came back to in middle school purely for the outfits as i was coming up with my personal style.
Winx was definitely ahead its time.
ikr:(
by now we are creating our own alternate reality winx show based on the Liza Fevral commentary- i would like to add that tecna should be a knitter or into fiber art. computers were created by weaving copper wires and i think that should be a thing in our alternate winx show
You honestly have more nice things to say than i can think of...
I'm keeping my hopes up for this reboot
the outfits besides flora and aisha are crime against the humanity ESPECIALLY stella
Stella’s yellow strappy Winx top looks like it's made of stiff plastic (as do the wings currently), I hope they tweak them to look more cloth like!
My problem is WHY IS DARCY'S HAIR THAT SHORT?! it should reach the KNEES. DARCY had hair for the gods
Probably a hassle to animate without it clipping all over the place.
6:06 TO BE FAIR, a *leather/pleather* floral jacket goes hard. Genuinely it’s so fun that she can play with more than just flowy fabrics now
That looks more plastic. I do like the the jacket but it feels too plastic for flora. Flora worse more flowy garments like.
I would cool with it if it were a different garmet.
Ok this is a leak thing so scroll if you don’t want to know but…
Yes. The witches are at alphea. Because in the reboots lore cloud tower was destroyed. HOWEVER the trix now use the ruins as a base/hideout.
I think they’re hopefully doing this because planning to address the demonisation of the witches in the original show. By physically separating them from the trix’s actions via literal space.
hmmm I don't think it's a good idea at all:( also no night sneaking into the cloud tower

You don’t know how much I kept visiting your channel these past few days waiting for your review on this ❤ u never disappoint
I don't like Stella's look outside of her transformation however bcs it really washes her out, making her look so pale
What bothers me in the new models, they just don’t look like winx at all 😭 I hate how new 3d animations are looking more like disneys Elsa.
But even Elsa had prettier colours! The new Winx look just... washed out!!
Yes their lashes and eye shape were so unique and iconic for me.
stella's outfit being pastel pink and yellow also sorta blends in too much with her skin tone making it mildly confusing to see whats going on

OMGG AHH I LOVE THE TRIX'S OUTFITS
Omg the witches look great!!!!
They’re the most similar to the original and best designed in my opinion.
Pink is amazing but i don't understand the incorpation of pink in all of them and it's not even a pink done justice.) I just really hope the plot is at least good

12:11 Yes! THIS! A million times THIS! I remember in the first season, when they had that ball with the Red Fountain students, their gowns (which remain iconic in my eyes) were similar to their transformation outfits, without being too obvious and keeping their own styles and designs. They worked SO well!
would've been cool if rainbow took spider-verse and arcane's 3-D style for inspiration for the reboot's 3-D artstyle
YYYEESSSS but rainbow is too lame
that would be amazing but sadly i dont think rainbow would have a budget or time for such high quality animations
@@Andy00H bestie, the bar is in Hell 💀 Honestly, I'll take what I can get
Okay I've always looooved Winx club and growing up it still is but like the character design isn't it. I really hope either they try and stop redoing Winx club and have it rest or if they countinue to do it that they take in some consideration and possibly research the designs better or go back to the older style of animation (Season 1 and 2)
Wait, Stella had a boutique? My memory fails to remember that?
@@RKNancy Yes ❤️🤌

Stella looks like my sleep paralysis demon but yaaasified for her brat era
So fun to see your review of this!!! Cant wait to see your review of the reboot when it comes out
Copy and pasted my tweets about the trailer here: I love the individuality within the Winx Club reboot's new designs but I wish their clothing was more up to date like it was back in the 2000s.

Lmao, Alphea looks like a government building. It literally looks like the provincial legislature building in joburg.
can we fix it? baby can we fix can we fix it
What kills me about Stella’s every day outfit is that they designed it in a darker yellow/ almost light orange pallet, while toying with a darker orange pallet but opted for the washed out yellow and pink combo.
They look like they were designed for toys/dolls. That’s such a pet peeve of mine, when it’s obvious that a character is designed for toy sales and not for the show/movie (Barbie does this a lot)
we've BEEN waiting for this one
I anticipated this vid so much omg, I have hope for the reboot
i think they removed the earlier designs because they listened to the fans, and the fans complained about the designs
now that we have new designs, fans regret complaining
but i think that they should've went with the simplistic outfits with the detail of the new ones, but less chaotic
Oh well. At least we got three good to great seasons!
ooh so nice that they acknowledged you!! it's past time Iginio hire you as creative director or something
Outfits director. Please, creative directors need to be familiar with fashion.
I definitely think the fandom has been super critical and the team has been working best to meet demands, but I think the other civilian leaks were better (except last year's Stella and Bloom looks).
As always I completely agree with everything you said, The possibility to get the perfect Winx iteration is low and already impossible when we see the sneak peaks but it still has potential to be good, It's at least still way more accurate to our idea of what Winx is than fate was,
I would also like gender and sex diversity for all Win worldbuilding class and species (fairy, witch, specialist, neutral wizard/mage, magical creature, little nymph, pixies, mermaid, random planet citizen etc...)
good plot, fashion and drama, a satisfying power scaling and awesome friendship lessons is all i can wish for with this reboot. nice video keep it up and let's hope rainbow will see this.
