    I always run a tether and lineman rope, I never unhook my lineman until I have my tether hooked up to my bridge

      Safest way to do it

    Saddle hunting is about angles bring your tether down and see how the comforbility is certain trees and situational require lower tie in for comfort

    Don’t know if I’ll ever make the jump to saddle hunting. I see the benefits but the older I get the more I want to be surrounded by something. I ditched my climbers couple years back for safety reasons; I.e. I’m getting old, lol. Good stuff none the less. 👍

    Your tether rope is way too high on the tree. Bring it down to eye level. A shorter bridge rope length also helps. This increases comfort tremendously.

    Have you tried the JX3 hybrid? Love mine especially for a all day hunt. A great saddle alternative.

      I haven’t, I caught this one on a good sale and had to try it

    This is the setup I’ll be running this season for public land instead of bringing in the hawk combat. On my own land I’ll still be using hang on and ladder stands.

      Same, I have a fixed ladder stand in a honey hole or two and plan to run this as my mobile setup

    Been considering this due to the price...thanks for honest review. This has helped me to decide not to go with this set up. I'll be researching more on the Latitude saddle now.

      @@manvsdeer thanks! What turned me off on the XOP set up was when you mentioned how it could use the extra length for the saddle to come down lower to give the support to the back legs/butt area. As a bigger guy, I think having that support is a huge plus. I’ve never tried on saddle before so can’t say for sure, but just by seeing it in action, the lower support seems it would help a lot! Thanks for replying back!

      I bought this setup and it is not comfortable for long sits, you made the right decision, I bought the method 2 from latitude and it is awesome.

    great saddle, especially if you get upside down. if you run prusiks off the tether loops itll give you some more adjustment. ive been up a down the saddle hierarchy and most often find myself back in a sit drag with a minimalist non-padded alpine climbing harness. its definitely a game for tinkerers.

    • @manvsdeer
      @manvsdeer  2 роки тому +2

      To be honest I never disliked the sit drag but I didn’t care for the ring of steps. The sit drag was for sure more comfortable 😂

      @@manvsdeer i run a very stiff boot, so it effectively makes the boot a platform and the steps a pivot...keep on tinkering

    The leg straps you’d want them really loose. Most don’t wear them because of leg pinch. My saddle clips in the front by belt buckle area so leg straps are just added safety I wear them extremely loose. I’m actually debating this setup for my daughter. The fall cord would work perfect for the climb in and out on her life line. Thanks for the review. The pouch it came with I assume you can use as a dummy pouch on the side of saddle? If it has molly loops

    • @manvsdeer
      @manvsdeer  2 роки тому +2

      That’s a good idea for an extra use on the pouch!

      @@manvsdeer you tether and lineman’s are right there on your side. If your leg straps were loose you’d be able to pull the saddle farther down to get more comfortable in it.? Does the shoulder straps dig in while on platform

    You should try your saddle on over your hunting clothes to make sure you don't cut all the straps to short.
