sully's book is a must read for anyone serious about strength training. It is LOADED with useful, helpful content, is easy to read and interesting too.
Doc Sullivan is one of my favorite people, I wish he would show up in more podcasts! For future cast I nominate Alan Thrall, strongman (occasionally weightlifter and powerlifter) from Untamed Strength as guest
I purchased "The Barbell Prescription" a couple of months ago, and I also bought a copy for my mom as a mother's day present. I highly recommend the book as it really lays out why strength training is superior for fighting the maladies of aging. It also lays out the "how" for the various "elderly" decades.
Hey Rip, you're Starting Strength and Practical Programming are amazing. I went from injured and in physical therapy, to front squatting 66 lbs, to squatting 240 lbs ass to grass low bar back squat with your books. I'm 5'4 and going strong on my way up in bar bell weight. Allan Thrall of Untamed Strength recommend them has required reading and I would love you see you do a show together. Best wishes.
Sounds like groundbreaking research and a book like this is much overdue. Nothing has been written in great detail before about how older folks can benefit from barbell strength training. As a 52 year old,, lifelong lifter, I can't wait to read this.
great pod cast as always. I bought my first barbell set from York Barbell in 1965 from Bob Hoffman in the flesh. I have more bars now, but that one is still in my gym.It has a bend from heavy squats when I was younger and knurling that is long gone. looking forward to the new book.
Rip, I've been using you starting strength method and I'm extremely excited to get this masters book when released. I've good my wife interested in starting.
We should thank Rip for letting Sully get a few words in here and there.

I have just reached the age of 50 so I want to read this as soon as it comes out.
Rip Dem-Bashing within the first 20 seconds has to be some kind of new record.
No I'm not, I am a human being. Why would I use my real name if I was a troll?
Oh, I don't mind the bashing. I hate both sides. Just typically takes him a few warmup sets before he dives in.
Democrats = Communists = Starvation = Death camps.

Had this very discussion with my mother a few days ago. Looking forward to the book to be sure.
Looking forward to the new book.
Count me as another old guy who is very interested in Sully's book.
Is it out of print? Amazon don't seem to know when I can get a copy?
Is the book out yet?
Yes
The most important statement the interviewer makes. "I'd better shut up ..."
i think he cut him off at every sentence
+micky mcfarts Great instruction videos, not a good interviewer.
Yowzoe yup
Republican governor, Republican majority state legislature,
No hate, love the guy but I think Rip is really not a good listener. Comes off as annoying after watching a fes of his interviews.
Rip is a dick, and we love him.
Holy shit, that "ACTUALLY" in the very beginning was loud as fuck...
FFS..can't Rip shut his mouth sometimes...
No. Next!
Yikes! Rip hits a new low starting at the 0:40 mark.
More politics, Rip.
Rip, the problem ain't democrats, it's blacks.
LMAO
