Listen, everyone! This deep dive into the the different Nightmare Before Christmas Holiday tree doors does contain some references to spoilers for the Sally book: "Long Live the Pumpkin Queen" but I'll let you know where those are and won't give away too much... in THIS video mwahaha. (I do a deep dive book review of it in past video, so check that out if you want.) ANYWAY, is Halloween Town a real place? Because we're looking at how holiday realms trees work, how they can be destroyed and regrown, and, using super elementary triangulation of certain crops, trying to figure out where the heck Halloween Town and other Towns are located in our mortal world! For fun! And, you know, some of these mortal portals might just be how Lock, Shock, and Barrel even found Halloween Town in the first place! So, where in the world is Halloween Town?

Okay so just for a second, in the intro to the movie I vividly remember someone talking about the vampires in Halloween Town and having a record for the most blood drank...
Can we talk about how sometimes they are going out and not just pranking for Halloween scares, but physically hurting and potentially KILLING people? That has always been a nagging concern in the back of my mind and I'd love to have a discussion start around this.

There was once a story I read where the citizens of each of the towns are just people who dies on the holiday.
IE Jack dies on Halloween, wakes up as a skeleton in Halloween town.

Interesting little known fact: In Canada Thanks Giving happens before Halloween, occurring usually Mid-October. It also is able to grow those same crops, though maybe on a different time frame as winter/frost hits 'sooner' than in the States

Jack doesn't use a tree to get to the human world to deliver presents, he just flies there on his sleigh, and then uses a crypt in the cemetery he's shot down in to get back to Halloween town
The thing with the Halloween town trees, I always thought they were dead. So that might explain the discrepancy with the leaves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't think Halloween town _is_ anywhere.
It's like the realms of the Eternals from Sandman. They exist in parallel universes to ours, embodying an aspect of life, in this case Holidays.
...Well, American Holidays. But I bet somewhere in those woods Jack trampled over there are other circles of doors, this time from another culture.
Multiple cultures can have the same Holidays, so there could be multiple Christmas towns and even Halloween towns with their own "King of the Pumpkin Patch".

They’re all underground, with the sky moving towards the core of the earth.
Based on the description of Thanksgiving Town, I think its location is Canada. Maybe in a southern Ontario or Quebec area where maple trees are in full Autumn colour. In Canada, Thanksgiving is mid-October, 2 weeks before Halloween. This would explain why the leaves are still on the trees in Thanksgiving Town, but not in Halloween Town.
Thanksgiving town just sounds like Canada in the early fall. lol
Oh and this might help. Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in mid-october so during that time, the leaves are in full color changing mode and it happens before Halloween. Also, our corn tends to ripen in mid-August to Mid-september which is closer our Thanksgiving. The pumpkins are ready in September-October AND we do have wild turkeys in the South-Eastern part of Quebec and Ontario... so... yeah, It's just Canada. lol

I think all the Holiday Towns are magic islands covered in special domes that camouflage them and keep a fixed weather.

I watched the movie with the idea firmly in mind it was in some other dimension.
And we had dimensions for the holidays, even if Santa can be on Earth.
We don't really see Halloween Town residents scaring regular humans under usual circumstances.

The leaf thing… I think it’s also possible that Halloween town exists on a higher latitude than Thanksgiving town. Peak autumn foliage timeframes vary as you go north to south; northern areas are “ahead” so to speak, so the leaves turn earlier.
Bonus fact I recently learned: In summers with lots of rain, the trees will hold onto their leaves longer! Considering that Thanksgiving town (surely) has many bountiful harvests, the summer rainfall in their area might be rather generous.

I'm rewatching these and I think you should make a video about the Battle for the Pumpkin King manga, it's interesting and I believe it is new. I got it last weekend and I think it's very interesting and adds onto the world. (It also had cute designs)

Well if you take into account that Canadian Thanksgiving takes place BEFORE Halloween, it could just be in Canada.

If you go a bit more north into Canada, our Thanksgiving is mid October putting it before Halloween. Also maybe Halloween town is just in the constant season of fall where things both grow and decay

First, I have to say, I love your nail polish!! What is it, and where did you get it? Second, I'm a die hard Christmas fan, so I'd go there, first! I also really love fall, though, so I'd probably spend quite a bit of time in Thanksgiving town. That leads me to one point we could consider. Here in Canada, Thanksgiving is in October, not November. That would fit better with the state of things in Thanksgiving Town and Halloween Town. Just a thought :)
This video has made my mind race in the question how would the nightmare before Christmas plot be affected if Jack went through a different holiday door. Like the plot, motivation, how Halloween can make there version of the holiday, and the songs. I already commented on a different video to explore this idea but this I just had to ask again. Irishboy here; don't worry, St. Patrick's Day is pretty much an American/American Immigrant invention. In Ireland it wasn't a significant or cared about holiday really until we adopted the American tradition more or less! It's well loved too! Hahaa!

My theory is the worlds have dimensions or portals connected them and the human world or the world are actually on the Bermuda Triangle. Because no human (assuming) has been there and they wouldn’t be bothered plus since it’s in the ocean they would be the crossroads for all countries traditions and holidays. Furthering the theory of there being a door for every holiday.
