MTB Ben Alder Loop - Scottish Highlands - Autumn 2022

Back in October we went up North and parked up at Dalwhinnie for the start of this loop, It is a proper into the wild kind of ride which can be done in a day or you can also stay at the Ben Alder Cottage, this time we did it in one go and without hanging about and with only one puncture it took us a total of 7 hours to do the 34 mile (55km) loop, It takes longer than you would expect due to a section of it being a hike a bike and in the winter there is also a considerable boggy section around the Loch a' Bhealaich Bheithe.
It can be a tough old day on the bikes but it does offer miles and miles of sweet single track with stunning views and being so remote it feels very special and like a proper adventure.
In the summer it should be a bit easier and you will also have more daylight so no need to rush.
Definitely one of my favourites!
