Been using the TCX Baja boots for a while and thoroughly happy with the product. Agree with everything you have said. Had a fall from the bike on gravel in Ladakh and these kept my feet intact and even the boots hardly had any damage. I will recommend TCX over others because of following reasons, 1. Most comfortable footwear I have ever owned 2. Excellent build quality and safety 3. I have worn these in summer, winter and rainy season. No complaints 4. Easy to walk in those after break-in After a month I didn't find any difficulty in gear shifting or applying rear brakes

Had been researching a lot to buy my first pair of riding shoes since I bought the Triumph Street twin 6 months back. The one thing you rightly said that these would fly off the shelves quickly !!! I actually had to call around 6 Royal Enfield dealerships in Mumbai to locate the size 9 as mostly it's sold out!! Finally purchased mine today ( RE showroom in Worli-Mumbai). Icing on the cake the store offered a 15% discount on the MRP of 21k and a decent RE branded canvas duffel 😊

I had watch your review maybe around 3-4 times. I have had difficult time choosing the ADV Boots. At first, I want to buy Forma Adventure Boots but the front toe is so big and its not my choice. The new version is Forma Terra Evo (i don't remember the full name) but its not my choice. Suddenly i saw your review, you explain everything with your heart, your experience and your honesty. I watch another youtube video already and has similar comments like yours. I saw your picture in this video review, the background picture is rocky environment and your story also told me about shallow lake to prove it as water proof. Its important also you mentioned that this boot is not so hot and make discomfort, zero break in time and the title of the video mentioned the boot had been used to ride for 10,000km. This is an important comment for me. I finally bought it yesterday on the 02/12/2021 on ebay (I am lucky the boot is 30% discount from the ebay seller). Thank you for your video review and it is very useful. Please review and give opinions on another boot again if you purchase another new brand.

Mr. Abhinav I don't ride bigger bikes but I'm a 90s kid and a Two-stroke enthusiast especially Suzuki and Yamaha. I have bought whatever riding Jacket and other gears being officially offered by these two brands but most of them are just ok or below Average standard, I wouldn't mind spending a premium for an official Suzuki and Yamaha riding gear, but it's not directly available here in India, they should atleast give us an option to get a same kind of riding gear used by a Hayabusa or R1 rider, I really appreciate TVS for offering some riding gear, and Kudos to RE and TCX for offering such amazing boots...and your review is authentic, genuine and top notch as usual...🏆👍
Hey Abhinav, thanks for the video. I want to get on with bike touring in the future and these videos are very helpful. Only 1 complaint from my side regarding the video, not the content. The audio is stereo and coming only from the left channel. As a headphone user and as a person who used to edit videos for a job, it is quite annoying. Apart from that no problems. Been following you for the past 1 year.
@@abhinavbhatt The audio here is stereo. Stereo means the left and right channels are separate. You do have audio coming from both the channels, but the volume on the right side is very low. This looks like a hardware or mic settings issue. I see you wearing a wired mic. Sometimes, this happens if the jack is not attached properly. Each metal part separated by a plastic ring on the jack has a function. One for left, one for right etc. You can solve this problem by changing the audio properties in an editor from stereo to mono. I have not used FCP, so I'm not sure about the settings but this is a very common problem so you'll easily find a solution.

Ive been using RE's full length riding boots from back in 2015, and as you pointed out they are not the best in quality and one serious issue i have had with them especially in offroad rides is that the heel got "stuck" in the foot pegs of my interceptor, and this turned out very nasty in rough roads as when I wanted to put my foot down to balance I just could not due to the extra grip on the boot and I fell sideways with the bike.. happened to me more than once, the last time as recent as two weeks ago. For this very reason I started looking for new boots... do you think the TCX will have this problem? "Sticky" sole on the footpegs?

The RE Nirvik video you made was spot on. Really helpful to make up my mind not to pursue Alpine star or other much more expensive riding gear brands and hence saved a lot of money. If only you can make a video on the best ECE 22.06 helmets that are also ISI certified that would be great. Shall be climbing up to larger bigger bikes soon!
Don't go big bike shopping soon. Enjoy the new Classic for a while. I don't know much about certifications and I find them extremely boring. Doubt I will ever make a video on them. I can tell you this though - a fit of a good helmet matters the most. My MT Carbon Fibre helmet fits me nicer than my top spec racetrack Arai, or Shoei. When one crashes, I expect all top helmets to perform the same.

Difference being tcx has goretex membrane for waterproofing, and re tcx has some other brand membrane. Some cost cutting is bound for 30 percent price reduction, still a great product at 21k.

I'm not a hardcore tourer at all, I mainly ride around the outskirts of Mumbai on weekends, covering not more than 200-250km in a day on an Interceptor 650. I'm thinking of getting the mid-rise version of the Stelvio. Do you think that's good enough for my usecase? I feel the full length boots might be a bit overkill as I'd also like to walk around a fair bit in them.

Hi Abhinav.. I ride RE Interceptor and I am mostly into regular touring - both short trips as well as long rides. I ride almost all 3 seasons and I never gave serious thought about riding boots considering my style of riding. For protection I use TBG Knight jacket along with Solace CoolPro trouser and wear RE Huntsman leather boots. I feel the boots are sturdy enough to protect my legs in case of any unfortunate event. Do you recommend a rider like me should upgrade to something like TCX Stelvio boots? Or is it suitable for adventure riders.
See, in the event of a crash, would you rather have such protective boots on or not? That's the question. I feel anyone riding should wear riding boots.
Thanks Abhi for the video. I'm confused between Stelvio, Gaerene GRW/Aquatech, Forma Adv which is all around 20K. This is majorly for weekend riding (100 - 200 KMS) and touring (500 - 1000 KMS) which would be once in a month... Thoughts/Suggestions, please?
I haven't worn the Gaerne or the Forma so I can't really comment on them. All these boots are good, reputed boots. There is no wrong choice to be very honest. I have used the TCX so I can tell you this, can't go wrong with them. They are a 30k plus shoe in the 20k range.

One important question mate... I suppose u have been riding these boots standing up all this while on ur Xpulse with the exposed KTM adv pegs (rubber inserts removed). Any damage to the soles? How are they holding up? Asking because the serrated pegs tore through my old orazos on a half day's ride and I am wary of putting down a hunk of dough for something that might not be able to take punishment for long
Wish they made it in bigger sizes US 11 is the last size they make. Had to order a Alpinestars corozal instead otherwise these were a great option. My previous boot was a TCX and it served me really well for over 7 years.

Hi Abhinav, I am a beginner but responsible rider. I am planning to do my first bike trip from West Bengal to Odisha almost 700 kms on my xpulse 200 4v. I work for a minimum wage job that any engineer could. Please suggest me a riding shoe which I can afford and also will keep me protected. Thanks in advance 🙏.
Did anyone with these boots struggle to get their feet under the gear shifter? I tried them on at the store today. I felt like the ankle did not have enough give for me to stretch my toes and get them under the gear shifter. I have to get my knees forward and get my feet in a rather awkward position. For reference I am exactly 6ft tall and ride a Himalayan. Thinking of getting these boots and any help from the community would be super appreciated.

I don't think that's a good idea if you don't also own an ADV. Best to stick to road bike oriented boots. Because these are tall, they'd probably cramp up the calves if the pegs are rearset.
You have used the tcx boots not the re-tcx collabed ones right? Even though the manufacturer is tcx for re i am pretty sure the quality wont be exactly the same they have done some cost cuttings here n there to fit in this budget...it would have been great if you would have actually used the re-tcx collabed ones n then give the review about it...but i appreciate re getting us tcx boots available in lesser price
I had the same concern. Believe me, I have spent quite a bit of time looking at them. It is the exact same boot. Same weight, same everything. Economies of scale helping Royal Enfield, and in effect, us, here.

@@abhinavbhatt I currently just own the beautiful RE classic reborn Halcyon green but I fancy myself as a future extensive tourer. Starting to build my gear arsenal. The RE Nirvik video you made was spot on. Really helpful to make up my mind not to pursue Alpine star or other much more expensive riding gear brands and hence saved a lot of money. If only you can make a video on the best ECE 22.06 helmets that are also ISI certified that would be great. Shall be climbing up to larger bigger bikes soon!
Don't go big bike shopping soon. Enjoy the new Classic for a while. I don't know much about certifications and I find them extremely boring. Doubt I will ever make a video on them. I can tell you this though - a fit of a good helmet matters the most. My MT Carbon Fibre helmet fits me nicer than my top spec racetrack Arai, or Shoei. When one crashes, I expect all top helmets to perform the same.

I haven't tried Forma, but I prefer this one just going by basic specifications and the look.

Difference being tcx has goretex membrane for waterproofing, and re tcx has some other brand membrane. Some cost cutting is bound for 30 percent price reduction, still a great product at 21k.
Wrong. The boots I am holding have the same waterproofing membrane. Goretex model would have cost more.

I would not use them on a day to day basis. These are touring boots. And they are going to last a decent while.

Hey Abhinav, you posted this review at the right time. I was looking for a pair of riding boots for casual city and highway riding. I'm not a hardcore tourer at all, I mainly ride around the outskirts of Mumbai on weekends, covering not more than 200-250km in a day on an Interceptor 650.
I'm thinking of getting the mid-rise version of the Stelvio. Do you think that's good enough for my usecase? I feel the full length boots might be a bit overkill as I'd also like to walk around a fair bit in them.

Hi Abhinav.. I ride RE Interceptor and I am mostly into regular touring - both short trips as well as long rides. I ride almost all 3 seasons and I never gave serious thought about riding boots considering my style of riding. For protection I use TBG Knight jacket along with Solace CoolPro trouser and wear RE Huntsman leather boots. I feel the boots are sturdy enough to protect my legs in case of any unfortunate event. Do you recommend a rider like me should upgrade to something like TCX Stelvio boots? Or is it suitable for adventure riders.
See, in the event of a crash, would you rather have such protective boots on or not? That's the question. I feel anyone riding should wear riding boots.

Gore Tex is a waterproof liner that is breathable unlike the traditional waterproof liners. That's all.

Thanks Abhi for the video. I'm confused between Stelvio, Gaerene GRW/Aquatech, Forma Adv which is all around 20K. This is majorly for weekend riding (100 - 200 KMS) and touring (500 - 1000 KMS) which would be once in a month... Thoughts/Suggestions, please?
I haven't worn the Gaerne or the Forma so I can't really comment on them. All these boots are good, reputed boots. There is no wrong choice to be very honest. I have used the TCX so I can tell you this, can't go wrong with them. They are a 30k plus shoe in the 20k range.

I am not even close to finishing that project. It is stalled since the last update. I honestly am not even interested in it anymore, since I am more of a dirt rider now.

Yes. To a large extent it should. Although not as much as a MX boot.
One important question mate... I suppose u have been riding these boots standing up all this while on ur Xpulse with the exposed KTM adv pegs (rubber inserts removed). Any damage to the soles? How are they holding up?
Asking because the serrated pegs tore through my old orazos on a half day's ride and I am wary of putting down a hunk of dough for something that might not be able to take punishment for long
They are fine. Little wear but nothing to worry. I do show the amount of wear in the video somewhere though.

Wish they made it in bigger sizes US 11 is the last size they make. Had to order a Alpinestars corozal instead otherwise these were a great option. My previous boot was a TCX and it served me really well for over 7 years.
Oh, that's terrible. Yeah, sizes should at least go up to US 13.

Did anyone with these boots struggle to get their feet under the gear shifter? I tried them on at the store today. I felt like the ankle did not have enough give for me to stretch my toes and get them under the gear shifter. I have to get my knees forward and get my feet in a rather awkward position. For reference I am exactly 6ft tall and ride a Himalayan. Thinking of getting these boots and any help from the community would be super appreciated.
You must reposition your shifter higher.

I don't think that's a good idea if you don't also own an ADV. Best to stick to road bike oriented boots. Because these are tall, they'd probably cramp up the calves if the pegs are rearset.

Yes. I think so. These are much higher spec than Forma, but at the same price.

You have used the tcx boots not the re-tcx collabed ones right? Even though the manufacturer is tcx for re i am pretty sure the quality wont be exactly the same they have done some cost cuttings here n there to fit in this budget...it would have been great if you would have actually used the re-tcx collabed ones n then give the review about it...but i appreciate re getting us tcx boots available in lesser price
I had the same concern. Believe me, I have spent quite a bit of time looking at them. It is the exact same boot. Same weight, same everything. Economies of scale helping Royal Enfield, and in effect, us, here.
