Loved it
Make a video on quality riding gear and available brands in India.
But what about supersports?
You think there is any human who won't have back pain even after racing a R1 for 5 years? I was a perfect fit for that, but nope, it still hurts slightly even now when I'm riding other bikes ... ( i had hard race seat, lowered clipons, even higher footpegs)... lmao.
Awesome video overall...
3:50 most people don't realise this, think of the throttle and bars like a soft baby's leg, not hard, but softly.
And gripping tanks is so much more better , but that's mainly for race positions.
6:50 , i didn't know power drift runs school ! Awesome shumi!
I want to know more about your riding school
Having a strong core regiment solves 60% of your problems. I rode from Trivandrum to Banglore in 11 hours on my 2018 D390, stopping only for lunch at Salem. The only problem I had was my right aching because of my backpack position, the skin of my bum from friction and heart ache from petrol prices.
Ahahahahaah! Good on you! Bum friction usually means your seat cover material is slippy (replace?) or you’re not holding the bike firmly enough.
@@shu_mar nothing actually, just stock KTM seats ☹️. I tried to get that gel seat, unfortunately there was no stock.
@@abhishekunni2433 hey I ride a duke 390 and I use ride on air seat I recently did Bangalore to Mangalore trip n took like 20 min break over all and this ride on air really was comfortable and I didn't get any discomfort at all... But a word of caution if you use this ride on air there is a noticeable difference of seat height and your ergonomic ll change.... But for me I have been using handle bar raiser from long time it was not that much of a problem......
@@nikhilhprasad3764 Thanks bro. And I had gone through 2 popular company airbags and both betrayed me.
I am actually going for memory foam one this time, but it's more expens.
I have ridden gixxer 150 sf bangalore mangalore..almost nonstop..i have ridden.guys fitness matters..doing stretching before long ride is best
Powerdrift is really concern and care for the people.
We just wanna help you guys be better riders.
I really is the concern for you englissss
(Just poking fun, no offense intended)

That my sentence is riddled with grammatical errors, it's supposed to be ironic.
Next time try and use a little of your brain.

Whatever schumi teaches me it directly fits in my head forever 🔥
I wish i had a school teacher like schumi 😝 i would have been an automobile engineer today 🤣
I'm an automobile engineering student nd learning from him
Honestly. Wish someone actually taught me things like this
Just when I have planned to go for a trip..this comes as a blessing...PD army..long way to go!!!
Woo hoo! Wishing you safe travels, comrade!
Awesome! Have a good one!
@@shu_mar thanks a lot shumi...
@@powerdriftofficial excited!!
Guys please do a video on proper braking. It is something that we use 100% of the times we ride and there are a lot of misconceptions out there. I think it'll be a good topic coming from seasoned riders like yourselves.
Recorded already! Coming soon!
@@shu_mar 🙌🏾
Yet another much needed video for bikers like me who love riding their R15.
I just brought mine this year and honestly after doing a 200km the only pain I felt was on my wrist. It may feel a bit on your back if your carrying a bag and riding in bumper to bumper traffic but honestly it's not so much that you just can't live with it.
@@divyeshpatel1539 that's correct. If one can keep the posture steady and if the roads are good, no wrist pain either. But then the roads aren't always favorable and neither is that pillion who's pressing down on the shoulders instead of the waist.
@@divyeshpatel1539 comeback after 6000 KMs
I will watch this video multiple times. Too much important information. 👍👍
Woot woot! Seems like you are gonna rack up all the views!
@@powerdriftofficial hahahah, podcasts are so good I love them , sometimes I binge watch again and again whenever I have free time.
This is very useful 👌🏽
Glad you think so, Duane!
10:00 , helmet must fit properly, and must not stress the neck ....sometimes wearing full on collarbone protector or an airbag suit also helps to learn.
Next video suggestions : 1. Engine braking during downshifts
2. How to ride during break-in periods and how manufacturers don't give the full picture
3. Understanding tire tread depth and knowing when to change
Probably the first youtuber to talk about this topic is mystic rider Prateek. It has helped a lot in long trips. I own an R15V3. But Prof Shumi gave us a masterclass on this.
Woot woot!
It felt like Shumi is talking to one on one !! Amazing content and so well explained … Thank you PD!!
Can you please do a similar video for the neck pain due to wearing helmets?
It will be really helpful
bhai saab! 😓
Helmet’s typically hurt if they’re badly made or you have weak neck muscles or not used to them.
Or u can get a good lightweight helmet
How could people dislike a video with free authentic motorcycling information?! It's a mad world..
That’s so well articulated. Your podcasts are always very educational for us.
It often is a case with two wheel enthusiasts to ride the bike(s) without knowing how to, or fitting the bikes. I learnt my strengths of riding rear swept pegs from my experience on a road bicycle where bike fitting is very crucial, and engaging different muscle groups to get optimum power delivery and energy efficiency during every long ride helps.
Also, keeping core muscles engaged while riding a motorcycle, or even while driving a car, will yield you a pain free ride/drive. And an injury free times ahead.
Would love to hear about hydration and nutrition while riding/driving long distances for enthusiasts in another podcasts. It’s often an ignored topic.
I don't feel bored at any point in shumi videos.. His presentation is always amazing...
Thank you, sir. I am a new rider and I constantly find these issues.
Thanks again for the useful information. I struggle with back pain when riding.
Thanks a lot Shumi, this was the most expected topic for most riders
Perfect timing from PowerDrift. I just did 850kms in less than 2 days and my back was killing me. Thanks for the solutions!!
Tucking the bike is very useful... Suggested by shumi in another video and I started doing that.... Good.. helpful...
🍻
That's the best advice one can give. Learn to ride the motorcycle properly. All the prior will fall in place. I learned it slowly but once i started to learn. Made a whole lot of a difference.
Cheers!
Thanks Shumi and team for making content for rider's to learn something from experienced rider and experts..
M really loving these series...
Best 12 minutes of my life.
Thank you brother 😊...God bless ya always
As always enormously detailed and informative. Thank you so much Shumi!
Glad it helps! Would you share this with your friends? It would really help us!
I have never heard or seen anyone mention these points before and have always spoken about adding accessories to improve ergonomics. This is a must watch for all riders out there.
This helps a lot 🙂 Can't Thank Enough to Shumi and the Team
Thanks for the suggestions.
Please make longer podcasts . These are just too short. Hope you could bring Varun and Shumi together in podcasts just like the first few episodes. Those were the perfect ; fun and informative 🙏
Oh those are fun! Thanks for the suggestion, Aniket!
Noted! Thank you!

7:31 that's the art of motorcycling.
Love these series of videos!! Thanks a ton!
I've used the trick of not carrying a backpack. A tankbag has really helped my back stay ache-free
I just have one thing to say, THANK YOU!
Going for a ride now. I don't have any back issues but still there is lot to learn in this video and I am going to incorporate all that was said. Thank you Shumi for always keeping us improving!
Have a good one Uday!
Great advice, thankyou 👍
Just so helpful. Thank you shumi and PD. I might be asking too much but could you show the adjustments to be made in a youtube short. That would be a blessing. Thanks again

One of my favorite auto journaliest. Love from Guwahati, Assam
I was waiting for this topic from long time, as I travel daily on my bike.
Thank you PD.
Dave Moss's series of videos on Motorcycle Ergonomics are a great learning tool on how to fit the bike to your body!
PD is doing a brilliant job in educating the general public regarding bikes and riding. These kind of contents are very important when a channel promotes bikes and cars so much! kudos to you! Hopefully we'll see a lot more informed and educated riders on the roads and a lot less chapris on their KTMs who will end up in a hospital or worse!
Excellent inputs. Concise and to the point. No BS.
Great content, Explanation so well put that it does not require any video clippings of the subject.
Very very nice and useful information for all of us… Everyone who rides bikes must watch this
Great beneficial tips...Thanks a lot
More of these please. Not all of us are fortunate enough to find/afford a riding school. Thanks for the tips BTW!
Kudos to the Editor's in PowerDrift! You guys actually like what you do...hope you can keep this up for a long time.

Great tips!! Will definitely try these out.

Great explanation
Just amazed by what we've missed out on for so long!
Tip for riding 200+ kms in mountains. Get down every 50-75 kms, enjoy a cup of tea or a sip of water, enjoy the view while streching legs
That's one way to do it.
🙏🏼 Gratitude for this.
After I got my RC390, Within 15 days the first thing I did is install Tank Grips(Traction grips), and it really helped a lot in riding my bike. I've been practicing using my legs to grip the motorcycle and keep the upper body as loose as possible. Today it's 4 months since I got my Rc and now I do a 150-200 km one-way ride without any serious back pain!! Initially, my body used to get tired much sooner, and now it's a lot better. This one modification changed the complete experience.
Excellent
As well as I understand that almost I have been following all your points by intuition as well practicality.
Thank you very much.
Shumi bro u r really a good mentor

Shumi is a bhandar of knowledge... Much needed video and information!!
Man , Do y'all have a mic in my house ?
Every time I have a question y'all pop up with a Video , especially Shumi sir
Appreciate the effort a lot PD
Hahahaha!
Are yar same doubt
Ahahahahaah! Big brother is listening!
Great pointers. One more thing that I'd like to mention is that not taking breaks/stretching also increases soreness multifold.
Sitting at just one place not only causes skin to get irritated (and yes, pls don't wear loose boxer shorts) but also the muscles don't get any oxygen and become sore (anaerobic).
So, I take breaks every 1.5 hours or so and stretch about for 2-3 minutes. Re-hydrate myself and move further.
Lowered the handlebars on my Meteor 350 to more of a Classic stance and it's doing wonders for me.
Very informative and enlightening indeed.
9:57 Arai & SHOEI My Dream Helmet
Have been running on stock rear suspension setting for about two years and last year decided to tweak the preload settings and man after that my bike felt like more planted and now I m able to ride my bike more confidently.
Definitely, will recommend to play with the preload settings it will make a difference in riding your bike.
please do a separate podcast on downshifting the bike because it is an important thing to know how to properly downshift the motorcycle.
Wow, will keep in mind
