Owned one before, quite slow and the colour not the best. But since I’m a beginner, it’s a very great camera to begin my journey. Upgraded to the old xt1 last October. Not everything need a big jump but I’m glad and happy for the purchase
I'm in the same boat: I got an x-t100 and am now considering an x-t1, mainly for form factor reasons. Would you say it's a good switch or do you regret it?
Got it for 250$ with a 40$ used brightstar 50mm lens as a cheap camera to take to the beach. Insane photos, perfect camera for that purpose. Got me addicted and i'll get a x-t3 or a7rii soon.
Im still confused as a beginner why the camera bodies are so expensive if they are meant to be disposable by every camera person i have talked to and viewed. Its gets even more crazy when you see you have to spend the same price on a lens. These companies charge too much for something that is disposable if the lenses are the same price.
Cuz it's for daily use do that means it has to be sturdy? Some beginners would also love to keep their first camera as travel / B-camera in the future. I assume more professional cameras especially the full frame ones are heavier and bulkier so it's not ideal for daily use (+ it won't be fun to lose it when you're walking on the streets).
It depends what you pay?....I bought mine used for around 200 U$ quite a while ago, just an addition to my Fujis...Its better than Gen 1 and 2 Xtrans but the video is ordinary.Teamed with the now out of production 16/50 and 50/230 its a great( good light) travel kit.The way the screen tilts AND flips is excellent.Classic chrome for the basic colour spot and Mono/R/G/Y in the bracket place is how mine is set up.Kit lens is great in the 15-30 range.
6:59 this has nothing to do with AF, that's a rolling shutter effect, so you've more than likely used an electronic shutter instead of mechanical for this shot.
@6:25, The first sensor pixel layout shown you mis-labelled as "Bayer" is actually the X-Trans Pattern, for the second the reverse is true. My son has this camera, his skill and natural artistic flair would blow you away. it's not the camera its the photographer behind the camera that makes an image.
That mistake is big enough to re-upload the video. It seems it didn't go into much detail because he does not know what are the real differences between the two sensors 😢
Owned it for a year found it is a great travel camera you wont care about if it gets destroyed. Hate to say it like that but it felt so cheap and small that it went backwards and became perfect.
I’ve got several cameras including this one and it’s the “worst one” out of all of them. But I use it all the time because I don’t need auto focus or video. I use it for product photography and it’s great for that. I especially like how the screen flips out when shooting objects in my “studio” at home.
Yeah totally, it’s cool little camera, don’t compare it anything. You will be sucked down the rabbit hole of thinking you need a better and better camera each time one comes out. It’s a really nice camera
For me, it's not. The screen only tilts to the left side and it doesn't even swivel, so if you wanna take a lot of photos by the hip, or be discreet with street photography, then I don't think this is recommended. But other than that, if you would mostly use the EVF, then it's fine, I guess. EDIT: It seems I was thinking about a different camera with the screen only tilting on one side. This one apparently tilts both horizontally and vertically! My bad! I change my mind about this camera! 😅
Hello! I recently bought a Fujifilm X-T3 after switching from a Nikon d610. And I'm very glad I did it! I love your content, photos and videos! Well done! Tell me, do you shoot in RAW or JPG? And do you process photos in editors after shooting?
Thank you so much! I shoot in RAW+JPG most of the time, so if I want to change something afterwards, I still have the flexibility with the RAW file :) Enjoy!
I bought xt5 last week . After my +10years old canon . I still have to adapt beause many changed. But for the price uts really goood. I go again to japan next month , so i can play around
I bought it 3 years ago, rarely used, I will use it for my trip to Japan this year, I have no experience taking photos, I hope the results will be good for my collection
@@soufianeghazlani3583 in my opinion, X-T 20 's built quality is better than X-T 100 and also X-T 20 senor is X-Trans senor( developed by Fujifilm) which is better than X-T 100 Bayer senor.
I'm looking for my first capable camera and is currently interested in the X-T20 or the X-T100 (spec wise they're pretty similar), and I'm wondering whether the X-T20 is really that much better? The only significant difference I can see on paper are the X-trans sensors and more manual controls on the X-T20, but the X-T100 lasts longer on usage and the LCD can tilt up and down (without having to be opened to the side like the X-T200) + flip to the front if need be. Locally (Asia-Pacific region) I can find the X-T100 30-50% cheaper than the X-T20 and that price per value just seemed insane to me.
Thanks for making this video. I was very close to buying the XT-100. Other than the film simulation modes. I don't see this as a big jump from my Sony Rx100VA.
I got it back in 2018 with the Fuji 18-55mm and 27mm pancake lenses, and it became my only camera. Not a high 'performance' unit, but it it built almost as well as its contemporaneous higher performance cousin the XT20, and performs admirably when you use it within its capabilities. I considered 'upgrading' a few times but I just enjoy using this one so much, the photos are beautiful, and the camera itself now has a lot of sentimental value as its been with me on all my travels and various life events of myself, my friends and family.
One more physical dial on the top left that you can change the function of such as for adjusting ISO (it change film sims by default), a viewfinder, and a 3D tilting LCD (it tilts vertically, but can also tilt to the side for low/high vertical shots or selfies), otherwise they're practically the same camera. If you want good autofocus you might want something else, but if you use manual focus or use vintage lenses this and the X-A5 are perfect for street and landscape. If you're looking for an even cheaper X-A5 and doesn't care if it doesn't have a hotshoe, try find the X-A10 or X-A20.
I've read about the screen only tilting on the left side and it doesn't swivel either, and I found it so weird. It doesn't help with shooting by the hip, or shooting street photos discreetly, unless you wanna do vertical shots. I wonder why they made it that way. Also, no IBIS, at this point, the OG Olympus EM-10 or EM-5 are making a lot of sense for me, even if these are even older cameras than the XT100. Add to that the significantly cheaper and more accessible lens selection, guess I'll definitely get the Olympus EM-10 now. But I really appreciate this video, more power to you and your channel! EDIT: It seems I was thinking about a different camera with the screen only tilting on one side. This one apparently tilts both horizontally and vertically! My bad! I change my mind about this camera! But I still do think the Olympus cameras I've mentioned above are better bang for buck.
I have it and sometimes it’s frustrating. The autofocus often missed, the shutter feels slow, I don’t know may be I am not that pro with this camera. I love the shape and weight, it’s perfect for traveling. Anyone have any recommendation for newer fuji that suits for traveling ?
I would not recommend this for anything. I bought the X-T200 and it was plastiqui, poor back screen and viewfinder, very slow, bad AF and image quality was far from the XT3 I had at that time, specially at night.

In my opinion I think this camera is for landscape photographers 😂 everything has to be done patiently….
Yes you nailed it! Haha great comment, thank you!
And it has a bayer filter instead of x-trans, so it’s much better for landscapes because of that too.
