This video is a treasure trove of tips, tricks, and other useful information. Sour cream cake donuts at the donut shop are one of my favorites, along with traditional cake donuts. I also like sour cream cake donuts with the vanilla Glaze in this video with some cinnamon mixed in. Dry powder sugar alone is another nice donut coating. A few other ideas for these sour cream cake donut Glaze are chocolate or strawberry. These 2 flavors mixed together is like a chocolate covered strawberry, a very good flavor glaze. Maple glaze is nice too.
Ok! So Sunday morning does not look so dismally lacking... these donuts are awesome and my late sister and her husband owned a mom and pop donut store ( I worked there on weekends) and these are as good as their homemade donuts. Thank you! Your Squashes make quite a statement behind you ;-)
If you're looking for the right size cutter for the donut hole, look around your pantry for about something an inch and a quarter. Water bottle, or vinegar bottle, olive oil bottle...keep looking and keep measuring. I found a right size 1 1/4 inch bottle top in my liquor cabinet...a bottle top from Sambuca liqueur. It's a metal top with sharp edges perfect for cutting the dough. I find one inch is not quite wide enough, and may close on you too much. I never did try this, but you may want to put your finger inside, and widen it that way.
We love it when people get creative! I prefer a clean cut for the center, so I'd encourage you to find something the right width if you can. Thank you for commenting to help folks along!
That sounds awesome! I've definitely added my share of seasonings, if you liked nutmeg you might love my Pumpkin Spice Donuts! cheflindseyfarr.com/pumpkin-spice-cake-donuts/
Made these and they tasted great. But they were still super greasy. It seems like the grease pooled to the bottom of the donut as it cooled. I was careful to keep things at 350F. What can I do to keep this from happening again? Thanks!
I’m clueless when it comes to how UA-cam works but their algorithm must be messing with you. The professional quality of your videos and thumbnails and recipes that should be pretty popular seems like they should be getting way more views.
Measurements can be found via the link in the description. It is how I can continue to provide free tutorials, since it links back to the blog. Happy frying!
It’s because video is tooooo long. 5 to 7 min is more than enough for most videos. People don’t have that kind of time. If you want to watch 5, t or 7 videos at half an hour each video that’s like 3, to 4 hours, 😱 who has that kind of time?
Ugh! Maybe less talking about irrelevant stuff and more about stuff that's useful (I had to mute the volume halfway through). For example, you were mixing the icing and got to a point where the powder sugar got dry, so you added more milk- all the while you were talking about something totally different. If this is supposed to be instructional, then your novice audience didn't get that crucial part about more hydration for a smoother icing. Geesh Louise! Great recipe tho.
My family will be so excited!! ❤❤ So happy I found you!!
Wonderful to hear! Welcome aboard!
Made this recipe and family love it, they are asking for more, thank you, the greatess yummy donuts.
My pleasure 😊

Have you ever added any seasoning? I’ve tried nutmeg and that turns out pretty good

Place your fried donuts on a cooling rack over a baking sheet or towels to catch the extra oil. This will keep the bottoms crispy!
شكرا لك لقد كنت ابحث عن هذه الطريقه منذ فتره طويله انت رائعه
You're so welcome, so happy you were able to find it!

Hi! Thank you so much for the compliment. I work pretty hard on them, so I hope UA-cam will come around!
hand mixer would have worked ideally for this small batch.
I broke my hand mixer 😢
Je besoin de la recette en grammes et ml s'il vous plaît 🥰😋🤌🏽
Pas de soucis! Les autres measurements sont dispos dans la boite de la recette si vous choissisez 'metric'! bon app!
No ingredient measurements here. Why?

I think you need to get a better mixer or maybe you just dont have enough volume in it
I accept gifts of stand mixers whenever you're ready to send them! ;)

I take donuts really seriously, so this is actually the shortened version! To each their own!
Who puts up a recipe and doesn't give measurements?

BLAH Girl makes a 10 min video... A 35 min video!
