My partner and I are long distance (she's in the UK and I'm in Canada) and I've started re-reading Harry Potter to her while she's falling asleep. It's such a small thing, but definitely helps feel closer. We also watch so many things together with one earbud in the computer and a video call with each other. It's incredible how laughing and enjoying something together does wonders.

Back when my boyfriend and I weren't living together yet, we would be on the phone while I was driving home from visiting him. It was an hour drive at night, so this would be how I stayed awake. Because we usually didn't know what to talk about after spending the entire day together, he would just take the comic book nearest to him and start reading it to me, with voices. Fond memories

OO OO I GOT THIS IDEA WHILST WATCHING THIS VIDEO so for a first date, say you've arranged a Skype date with someone you've met on a dating app. Then play the whisper challenge where one person mutes their mic and says a sentence and the other person has to try and guess what the sentence is, and the sentence is something that will help the other person get to know them better. And you can make a prompt generator to help, like 'one time you set a goal and succeeded' or 'what's one thing you want to get out of 2020' or 'relationship history?' or 'what's one thing you like or would like done to you in bed' or 'COMPLIMENT YOUR DATE'.
My partner and I are doing long distance because we both live with our parents (planning to move in together later this year), so I'm excited to try some of these ideas! Especially book club and wikiwars (we already do some of the others). Some suggestions I have as well: -Geoguessr (game which places you in a random spot in the world on Google Maps, you have to figure out where you are) -20 questions -Quizup (mobile game which allows you to challenge each other in different categories of trivia)
At any other point in time this would have not been of interest but now that long term relationships are actually a relationship with anybody who is not in your household suddenly this is of great interest. Not heard of Netflix party before and use Netflix so much going to be sorting that one out. Set my daughter up on day one with Whatsapp and Roblox / Minecraft and she has had more virtual play dates then ever before. I kid you not she has never been so happy and so sociable

Been 9 Years in Long Distance! AND we have found many ways to stay connected. One of these is by playing couple games with my bf. Recently we have started playing Lovify. It's a questions game. We have to guess each others likes. It helps us have new conversations and re-live old memories. Watching sunrise & sunset on a video call together, is another favorite thing to do. In a few months, we are getting married. Really Excited 💗💗
once quarantine started, I had downloaded discord cause I was EXTREMELY bored. Three weeks after I met someone who we will call Luke. he was my best friend! about 2 months ago we had gotten into a relationship, I had a crush on him for 5 months so I was really happy. it soon became toxic, he would ignore me days at a time, and it was just controlling in general. It didn't end until 3 weeks ago thanks to someone who goes by Chaos. after he helped me in the relationship, we both gained feelings for each other. We finally got together yesterday and I think that was the best day of my life. I wanted to do something special for him, so im glad this video exists.

I'm one of the people on a dating app and recently started talking with someone on it. It definitely has a different feel knowing that I won't be meeting them in person for a while. We've been getting to know each other more in depth than any conversations I've had in the past in dating apps, though that could be because of the person and not necessarily the pandemic. It's nice. I like that we'll be somewhat more connected and invested by the time we see each other than we would have been otherwise. Also, there are a lot of "Quarantine is boring. I started “Meg’s Film Club” yesterday with my friendship group! We’ve scheduled in a night next week to discuss a film that we all watched over the week (each week a new person decides the film we all watch!). I haven’t used discord before but downloaded it to do a quiz night a couple of weeks ago and it’s good! A little confusing at first but fairly easy to navigate!
I've been in a long-distance relationship for almost a year now. Very new territory for me. We lived together last year for 3 months and he was due back on March 24th but we thought best to postpone given the cirumstance. Here are my tips on long distance dates etc (WARNING some bits are a little soppy, I'm bearing my soul here. : - If we're too tired, we call each other or skype, send songs to each other and press play & listen together (we did this in the beginning). Similar to your idea, we would add all these songs to a playlist like a journal. - If you don't do Netflix together, you can share screen on Skype while watching or use sites like Rabbit or WatchTogether (one of them has changed names but I can't quite remember) - Words with Friends or scrabble! His main language is Spanish so we have games going in both Spanish and English (sometimes Portuguese). My Spanish is terrible so it's a fun way to learn too! - You mentioned cooking. He is going to tell me how to cook traditional Colombian arepas which he gave me the flour for. I've instructed him on cooking for his parents (who he's in isolation with) too. - The sex thing helps a lot and you may discover new things about each other These are shitty times but make the most of them! I'm excited for when bf can come back to visit but we've managed so far, this isolation isn't too bad for us
Need this more than ever right now! My boyfriend and I went long distance almost a year ago, and I haven't seen him in 3 months. We were supposed to see each other over the Easter holidays but obviously lockdown happened before we could! He'll be straight over when all is safe again but in the meantime we've got to find a way to keep the 3+ months apart fresh. Finding things to talk about on call is a big hurdle to overcome so from my experience, I 100% agree with your advice to combat that.

I havent seen my partner since early January (they live in the Netherlands and I live in the USA so we are basically banned from seeing each other due to travel restrictions) and though they were suppose to fly here at the beginning of May I dont see the travel bans being lifted by then. I just miss them so much and we have never gone longer than 5 months without seeing each other in person. So this will help so much to keep us interacting in fun ways until we are together again ♡. On the note of date ideas: we have played pictionary over a WhatsApp video call by filming the paper and also we have tried the Netflix with a video chat date.
This idea is more for artists dating other artists: Write short stories/poems or paintings or whatever you enjoy and share it to your partner and discuss it with each other. I haven't done this with my girlfriend, but I have with my best friend and it helped us stay in touch even during summer breaks where we couldn't see each other much.

I’ve been in a long distance relationship for over a year now and it’s really exciting to see so many resources pop up now during quarantine! Me and my SO recently celebrated our anniversary through google hangouts where we both ate froot loops and did some watercoloring together 😊. Also we’ve started playing runescape together and it feels nice to have our avatars be in the same “physical” (actually virtual) space which we can both interact with and do activities in. I was single at the start of lockdown, however I’m now in a relationship. my girlfriend and I were working on watching all of Star Wars and MCU so we kept it up while in isolation and will FaceTime each other while watching it! So we have a whole list of things to work through which is easy so there isn't any sort of question about what to watch and it's always easy to be like "hey babe, Return of the Jedi tomorrow?"

I'm currently making a quiz to do for my brothers birthday next week! Planning on streaming the quiz to a load of his friends and family so we can all do it together. Might even make a cake and get everyone to sing happy birthday! Quizzes are also a great idea for couples or friends that usually like doing pub quizzes together!
Some more date ideas from my gf & I(started out online only): -Watch a movie together through Discord/etc & order food/snacks through Door Dash/etc that you think the other would like. Then you have dinner & a movie together. -Play games together, but also not just video games! On one of our first dates, we played a story making game of 'finish the sentence'. We agreed on a starting sentence, and then took 30 second turns to write what happened next in the story. Then, we would read what we wrote, and on the other end, the other's turn would start. At the end of the story, we read the story out loud, and had 15 minutes of non-stop laughter over it's mad-lib storyline. -Make something together! Whether it be a literal craft or just brainstorming creative ideas with each other, it's fun to feel productive and invigorated with someone else. (For me & my gf, it was working on a dnd campaign+world lore together).

One game you can play online with friends and family and dates, even, is one called Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Theres an operative and a team (one or more) of experts who tell the operative how to defuse the bomb tbey have in front of them. The catch is that all this is only done through voice so no peeking or no 'look at this'. So much fun, 10/10 would recommend. It's on steam.

Thank you for your openness about your health conditions. My brother-in-law is really having a bad time after having his entire colon removed due to cancer. I just sent him your channel to get some information to him because he had a different sort of surgery than a stoma because he had a long seated prejudiced about that sort of procedure. It’s not going well for him. I want to give him some information from someone who’s had a much more successful life post surgery than he has. I don’t know if it’s going to work(saying he’s stubborn doesn’t come close to describing his ability to be Obstinate). I've been in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend since the beginning of our relationship, apart for the summer. I finally moved back home in February and long distance was over. HA. It was too good to be true. Moving back took a big toll on my mental health and I couldn't enjoy anything, not even my relationship and my boyfriend. This quarantine could have not happened in a worst period of my life tbh we are coming up to our first anniversary in May, I hope that by then we will be allowed to see each other...we live in Italy and since we've been quarantined for over a month now this might actually happen, but I'm so scared of allowing myself some hope or optimism haha. The best website I’ve found for watching things with other people is Kosmi, because you can screenshare + audio share from one person’s computer to the website so everyone in the “room” can watch it! It’s a lot like Rabbit was, if anyone used to use that, this is a great alternative 👍🏼 My girlfriend and I use it along with Discord to talk to each other while we watch ☺️ The great thing is that even if only one of you has an account for something (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc) you can still both watch it! And more than 2 people can be in a “room” at once, so you could also use it with a group of friends
There’s a website called playingcards.io and it has a bunch of card games and table top games that you can play virtually. They have a game called “remote insensitivity” that’s literally cards against humanity, but they don’t have the rights to that name.

Long distance actually is a good thing. Coz you got lots of time to know about each other, it will tests both of your patience and attitudes, unlike when you are already seeing each other in person right away.. sometimes when s*x is done and all, and you don't really know each other, next thing you know youre not anymore talking, lol.. Video chat is needed really. not just phone calls or texting.

My partner and i are in the same country but i decided to quarantine with my grandmother when covid first arrived at my country (before there was any chance i contracted it) so she wouldn't feel completely isolated. Been 9 Years in Long Distance! AND we have found many ways to stay connected. One of these is by playing couple games with my bf. Recently we have started playing Lovify. It's a questions game. We have to guess each others likes. It helps us have new conversations and re-live old memories. Watching sunrise & sunset on a video call together, is another favorite thing to do. In a few months, we are getting married. Really Excited 💗💗
once quarantine started, I had downloaded discord cause I was EXTREMELY bored. Three weeks after I met someone who we will call Luke. he was my best friend! about 2 months ago we had gotten into a relationship, I had a crush on him for 5 months so I was really happy. it soon became toxic, he would ignore me days at a time, and it was just controlling in general. It didn't end until 3 weeks ago thanks to someone who goes by Chaos. after he helped me in the relationship, we both gained feelings for each other. We finally got together yesterday and I think that was the best day of my life. I wanted to do something special for him, so im glad this video exists.

I'm one of the people on a dating app and recently started talking with someone on it. It definitely has a different feel knowing that I won't be meeting them in person for a while. We've been getting to know each other more in depth than any conversations I've had in the past in dating apps, though that could be because of the person and not necessarily the pandemic. It's nice. I like that we'll be somewhat more connected and invested by the time we see each other than we would have been otherwise. Also, there are a lot of "Quarantine is boring. I started “Meg’s Film Club” yesterday with my friendship group! We’ve scheduled in a night next week to discuss a film that we all watched over the week (each week a new person decides the film we all watch!). I haven’t used discord before but downloaded it to do a quiz night a couple of weeks ago and it’s good! A little confusing at first but fairly easy to navigate!
I've been in a long-distance relationship for almost a year now. Very new territory for me. We lived together last year for 3 months and he was due back on March 24th but we thought best to postpone given the cirumstance. Here are my tips on long distance dates etc (WARNING some bits are a little soppy, I'm bearing my soul here. :
- If we're too tired, we call each other or skype, send songs to each other and press play & listen together (we did this in the beginning). Similar to your idea, we would add all these songs to a playlist like a journal.
- If you don't do Netflix together, you can share screen on Skype while watching or use sites like Rabbit or WatchTogether (one of them has changed names but I can't quite remember)
- Words with Friends or scrabble! His main language is Spanish so we have games going in both Spanish and English (sometimes Portuguese). My Spanish is terrible so it's a fun way to learn too!
- You mentioned cooking. He is going to tell me how to cook traditional Colombian arepas which he gave me the flour for. I've instructed him on cooking for his parents (who he's in isolation with) too.
- The sex thing helps a lot and you may discover new things about each other
These are shitty times but make the most of them! I'm excited for when bf can come back to visit but we've managed so far, this isolation isn't too bad for us
Need this more than ever right now! My boyfriend and I went long distance almost a year ago, and I haven't seen him in 3 months. We were supposed to see each other over the Easter holidays but obviously lockdown happened before we could! He'll be straight over when all is safe again but in the meantime we've got to find a way to keep the 3+ months apart fresh. Finding things to talk about on call is a big hurdle to overcome so from my experience, I 100% agree with your advice to combat that.

I havent seen my partner since early January (they live in the Netherlands and I live in the USA so we are basically banned from seeing each other due to travel restrictions) and though they were suppose to fly here at the beginning of May I dont see the travel bans being lifted by then. I just miss them so much and we have never gone longer than 5 months without seeing each other in person. So this will help so much to keep us interacting in fun ways until we are together again ♡. On the note of date ideas: we have played pictionary over a WhatsApp video call by filming the paper and also we have tried the Netflix with a video chat date.
This idea is more for artists dating other artists: Write short stories/poems or paintings or whatever you enjoy and share it to your partner and discuss it with each other. I haven't done this with my girlfriend, but I have with my best friend and it helped us stay in touch even during summer breaks where we couldn't see each other much.

I’ve been in a long distance relationship for over a year now and it’s really exciting to see so many resources pop up now during quarantine! Me and my SO recently celebrated our anniversary through google hangouts where we both ate froot loops and did some watercoloring together 😊. Also we’ve started playing runescape together and it feels nice to have our avatars be in the same “physical” (actually virtual) space which we can both interact with and do activities in. I feel more togetherness 🙂

I was single at the start of lockdown, however I’m now in a relationship. Because we’ve not physically been able to see each other the conversations have been so in depth and have been calling each other so much, to the point of 3 hour calls and it’s meant we’ve formed such a strong connection together without the immediate pressure, though it is now getting to the point where I want lockdown to be over so we can actually meet! my girlfriend and I were working on watching all of Star Wars and MCU so we kept it up while in isolation and will FaceTime each other while watching it! So we have a whole list of things to work through which is easy so there isn't any sort of question about what to watch and it's always easy to be like "hey babe, Return of the Jedi tomorrow?"

Some more date ideas from my gf & I(started out online only):
-Watch a movie together through Discord/etc & order food/snacks through Door Dash/etc that you think the other would like. Then you have dinner & a movie together.
-Play games together, but also not just video games! On one of our first dates, we played a story making game of 'finish the sentence'. We agreed on a starting sentence, and then took 30 second turns to write what happened next in the story. Then, we would read what we wrote, and on the other end, the other's turn would start. At the end of the story, we read the story out loud, and had 15 minutes of non-stop laughter over it's mad-lib storyline.
-Make something together! Whether it be a literal craft or just brainstorming creative ideas with each other, it's fun to feel productive and invigorated with someone else. (For me & my gf, it was working on a dnd campaign+world lore together).
If you love board games GET TABLETOP SIMULATOR! Its like the perfect quarantine game and the steam workshop library is immense like omfg

One game you can play online with friends and family and dates, even, is one called Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Theres an operative and a team (one or more) of experts who tell the operative how to defuse the bomb tbey have in front of them. The catch is that all this is only done through voice so no peeking or no 'look at this'. So much fun, 10/10 would recommend. It's on steam.
Hi Hannah. I know this video is not about this particular subject; but, I’m not particularly social media savvy and I just wanted to let you know something. Thank you for your openness about your health conditions. My brother-in-law is really having a bad time after having his entire colon removed due to cancer. I just sent him your channel to get some information to him because he had a different sort of surgery than a stoma because he had a long seated prejudiced about that sort of procedure. It’s not going well for him. I want to give him some information from someone who’s had a much more successful life post surgery than he has. I don’t know if it’s going to work(saying he’s stubborn doesn’t come close to describing his ability to be Obstinate). I just wanted to say thank you for your open and informative channel, keep up the good work, stay strong and stay healthy.

My girlfriend and I like to go on walks together while we’re apart. We both put in earphones and then go on a walk while talking to each other. You do look a bit silly talking to yourself but after a while it feels just as normal as actually walking together.

I've been in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend since the beginning of our relationship, apart for the summer. I finally moved back home in February and long distance was over. HA. It was too good to be true. Moving back took a big toll on my mental health and I couldn't enjoy anything, not even my relationship and my boyfriend. This quarantine could have not happened in a worst period of my life tbh we are coming up to our first anniversary in May, I hope that by then we will be allowed to see each other...we live in Italy and since we've been quarantined for over a month now this might actually happen, but I'm so scared of allowing myself some hope or optimism haha. Anyway these date ideas are so helpful and we will definetely use some of them, hopefully they will make this period suck less lol

The best website I’ve found for watching things with other people is Kosmi, because you can screenshare + audio share from one person’s computer to the website so everyone in the “room” can watch it! It’s a lot like Rabbit was, if anyone used to use that, this is a great alternative 👍🏼 My girlfriend and I use it along with Discord to talk to each other while we watch ☺️ The great thing is that even if only one of you has an account for something (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc) you can still both watch it! And more than 2 people can be in a “room” at once, so you could also use it with a group of friends
There’s a website called playingcards.io and it has a bunch of card games and table top games that you can play virtually. They have a game called “remote insensitivity” that’s literally cards against humanity, but they don’t have the rights to that name.
