Built one this summer and loving it already! (Just wish had made it a bit bigger and had flat shelves for ease of planting and bottom substrate too and maybe put in a stepping stone in the middle too…?)
Aldi have great strong tubs at the moment for 10 euro. Great for small pond. DONT FORGET TO MAKE A RAMP FOR CREATURES TO GET IN AND OUT WITHOUT DROWNJNG!
I love your pond. How is it doing 3 years on? I did the same as you with a preformed pond 2 years ago and it is full of wildlife and pond plants that I just give a little trim around the roots at the start of autumn to stop them taking over and spreading too much and the rest of the habitat happily looks after itself. Every garden large or small should have a pond.
I had the same problem. It was such a small space that the plants just wanted to fill it. I've had to keep it well trimmed to leave room for the water lol
They can get in and out over the plants. I did put in a hedgehog ramp after I completed this video. We have several resident hedgehogs in the garden and they love it!
Hello! Just subscribed. We are wanting to make a pond. Mum's worried how to keep it clear. Do you have any advice or an update on this one please? Thank you.
Envirokid....ponds in nature are not clear! The creatures who live in ponds like darker water. The onmy reason we have clear ponds is for our viewing convenience. Keep cleaning and messing with a 'wildlife' pond and you will kill the actual wildlife!
Next year I'm planning to further/fully plant my backyard and it will include a wildlife pond. Probably a bit bigger and deeper like yours. These frogs looks so cute😍 The backyard is mostly fenced off by a brick wall, but I hope I will get enough wildlife coming to that pond. This spring I will install a mortar tub pond in the front garden, can't wait to start looking for supplies once the weather has warmed up🌿🌄💧🐸🦎🐝🦋

When it comes to ponds (and scorpions) the bigger the better!

Absolutely! I put in a couple of bricks. the plants soon bulked out and provided great cover for animals as well as a spot to climb in and out.
The frogs were so happy with their new habitat😀😃😃
They were very complimentary.
We've just installed a pond in our kitchen garden too! Digging in heavy clay was a nightmare.
It really is! I've moved now and the soil in Sussex is much easier to work than Herefordshire.
So cute.. Sleeping with the sound of frogs at night.. Peace..
I couldn't agree more
Thanks, was so inspired I am building one for my yard.
Go for it!
Brilliant video ! Well Done. I'd like the music a bit quieter, BUT I'VE SUBSCRIBED !
Thanks for your fantastic feedback, I really appreciate it. I'll make the music a bit quieter from now on.x
Awwwww frogs are so cute!
I know right?! Adorable!

I've started clearing an area to install one of these moulded ponds. Looking forward to seeing what makes its home there.
Lots of frogs mostly.
Aww this made me smile 😁👌🐸
Thank you so much!
Very nice. Where and how is the acces, for hedgehogs and toads?

If it's algae or duckweed you're worried about then fill an old pair of tights with wheat straw. That really helps to keep a pond clear.
Thanks. We built one. We have oxygenating plants. So far, so good, but we'll try the tip if needed. Thanks again.

Wow thanks, so much simpler than the other vids I found 🙏
Thanks!
Lovely! How did you manage to get the frogs on the first place?
Build it and they will come 😊🐸
Brilliant video x
Thank you so much! x
Brilliant thank you
You're very welcome
Do you mean you filled a pre formed pond for £ 20 ? Or did the pond cost £20 ?
The Pond cost £20 from Facebook marketplace. The plants I had already or were from friends ponds nearby.
What a lovely little video ! :)
Thank you so much!
Great little pond 😀
thanks!
Update on the pond hey?! Maybe when it’s spring or summer and life’s back in it ….
It did fantastically well! The wildlife loved it.

That's great! A pond in the garden makes such a difference. We had next to no problems with slugs once we got our installed.
Can you post a link to the liner you used? It looks like the size and shape I'm looking for? Thanks
I got it of Facebook marketplace
Mind blowing video
Thanks!
Really fantastic work
Thank you so much!
Did you put an overflow in?
TBH no because I didn't need to it's in a pretty dry area of the garden and if anything it has much more risk of drying out rather than overflowing.
Loverly vid subbed thank you
Thanks for the sub Simon!
This is FANTASTIC and i hope to incorporate this sort of thing into making an inherited boring old yard into a paradise!
Thanks Chris!
Nyc pond
Thanks!
I love you
......thanks......
