Just finished this awesome series. Hands down one of the best on youtube, together with "houdini isnt scary". Ty so much for sharing, cant wait to see other videos from you, keep up the good work|
Optional assets and scene files available for this workshop: gumroad.com/l/UJrDN Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my twitter, so follow maybe? twitter.com/oossoonngg or instagram for that matter instagram.com/oossoonngg/
How can we select only the dark parts based on color in the picture imported and delete the white parts so only logo stays and we can scatter only on the logo itself? A grouping maybe based on the pixel(or polygon as it is a grid) color information?
Check out episode 2 of this workshop ua-cam.com/video/92wItiqrg6k/v-deo.html about selections. Then just blast the selected result and you'll be good to go.
do you have another video explaining houdini to unreal special attribs and groups, transfer from ue4 like the material and from houdini to unreal using unreal_generated_mesh_name? and also why did you export it if you can create and hda out of it isn't that much faster?
Hello Arise. Is there a way to import color from Houdini? I have added Cd attribute on point level which is creating a basic transition between two colors based on pscale but unfortunately I couldn't find any onformation how to import that data into UE4. Well, there is some transition but in black and white, not the colors i chosen in Houdini though.
If you do it the same way we did it in the video it should work. Connect the combined output, not just R or G or B and it should get out as color data.
@@AriseWorks I guess I'm still missing something. I used Vertex color node in UE4 but it only sees BW colors instead of those in Houdini. It shouldn't be that complicated haha.
The screenshot above is latest UE and H. Should definitely work, since I checked it a minute before I uploaded the picture. And yeah, it would not be CG if it worked from the first time, hehe.

It was much buggier for sure. The v1 add on was ... not great.
@@AriseWorks I'm really a beginner and this really helpful, I hope on your new video your using v2 :)

super weird. here's my amazing tech-art showcase just to see maybe it's some sort of a new bug, but no it works as expected: imgur.com/a/Vp5Tv2Y
@@AriseWorks I will study my nodes again but maybe it is some bug as you mentionded. I use the newest Houdini and UE4 builds. Thanks for the help! :)
