NEW MERCH ALERT IN MERCH BOX ABOVE! I hate to say this but it is pretty rare when I see dog owners with a dog properly trained in public and responsive to the situation their dog is in. It is a MUST that you can handle the entire situation you are in when you are out in public with your dog. Remember it is ok to not let people pet your dog. It is ok to tell people what to do or not to do with your dog. It is ok to tell people to not behave one way or another around your dog. Remember you are trying to set your dog up for success. You are not here to cater to a stranger so they can pet your dog! If you need help understanding how to be a leader to your dog, how to train your dog, how to have your dog respect you in ALL SITUATIONS then please start going through these training courses www.fenrirdogtraining.com/?affcode=381736_08bmp5qc and get 10% OFF if you use code "Jason".
My dog is VERY well socialized, very well. She loves everyone, its me that gets aggressive when people bother me when im out and about. Do they make human shock collars? My dog would for sure shock the shit out of me when I wanna avoid people and she wants to say hi
This video needed to be made. Whenever I say no to someone petting my Corso (Onyx) people actually get insulted. I'm walking my dog and someone asked me to pet him I say no. However this person tried to do it anyway so I smack their hand away and I got the how dare you touch me look. I let them know be happy it was me and not my dog.
Yes I have to agree with you. When you're in a public place with multiple coming and going, Bruce may be on high alert because he's trying to look out for you and keep you safe. It's a stressful and overwhelming situation. Bruce may get over stimulated from to many things going on at once and trying to "screen" each stranger. He's a great dog and people can admire him from afar. Give him hugs for me !
My mastiff has a DO NOT PET on her harness bc I notice ppl would just go pet her without asking so now ppl c that n they ask or don’t even have to just a safety precaution for myself n her bc she is very weary of strangers
You’re editing and language/including Bruce Wayne’s “Comments” create an addiction to watching your videos. Fricken awesome. I miss my doggie and your videos fill my heart. ❤️
When I was a child, I LOVED dogs. I wanted to pet every Dog. I was one of those annoying kids, that want to touch and cuddle with every animal 😂😂 And I would get so sad, if people told me „no, you can‘t“ 🥺 Well, one day an old lady let me cuddle her Dog and she let me walk him all by myself. (Looking at it now, she must have been crazy 😂) One day she had to go to the hospital and I saw the Ambulance leave. So I told her neighbour to give me the dog, to take care of. Sadly, she died in the hospital 2 Days later. But I kept Tilly 💕 She was my best friend 💕 RIP Tilly
My dream dog is a Doberman Pinscher, I love the strength and the power and how amazing they look and how smart they can be. I've been watching y'alls videos as a way to prepare myself to train that big dog. Keep doing what you're doing.
I have a great pyrenees. I definitely understand the "OH MY GOSH YOUR DOG! SO CUUUUTE". Most people are polite and ask, but some don't. And it's annoying. I don't necessarily want to stop and talk to every single dang person that notices my massive dog lol
Also, remember the age of your dog also matters. I take my Corso to home depot regularly and get the same reactions. Everyone wants to pet... at this stage of his life, still very much a puppy at 1 year, he wants to play. So if they come up to him he is going to think, OH, she or he wants to play! Let's play! And Corsos are large, heavy animals and they can play rough. And they may mouth you. So if your in a busy place you may want to think twice about allowing strangers to randomly come up and get your pup all worked up. My wife went and bought one of those do not pet collars, simply to deter. But depending on the situation I will do as Jason said and make sure they are aware of what they are asking for. Thanks Jason and Kara for another great vid! Oh and Kane says to tell big bro Bruce hi! 😆
Jason, I am glad someone talked about the respect level of dog ownership. My wife and I own a Cane Corso about the same size as Bruce Wayne. He’s trained but just because people see a great looking and mild mannered dog does not mean that they can approach or touch the animal. My dog is strictly for guarding and protecting not for human consumption. People don’t seem to care. With this breed comes a ton of liabilities. These dogs are like our kids and we do not allow other people to touch them. They have the tendency to ask, “Why did you raise him that way?”. My response is I didn’t buy a dog for the community. There are other ways to admire a dog from a distance. Thanks for the video.
I've recently had an experience where I was introducing my Dogo Argentino to some family and friends. *sighs* apparently the full grown man did not realize you should not stick your face in the dogs face during a new meeting ..... like within the first minute. Luckily he's well trained enough to back off and no one was hurt and new greetings went on ok but still...... people
U guys make me miss my bull mastiff so bad!! 😭 He passed away a yr ago this past Aug.......I miss him more than anything! Thanks for the videos. I love your Bruce ♡
Wonderful wisdom from Kara Corey in this one - I think it's a challenge many of us female dog owners have, this compulsion to be, what Kara calls "Nicey-nicey". We can all learn lots from Jason's situational awareness and readiness to say "No!". Must be an entirely different world in the US; here in rural Portugal, no one would dream just petting a huge dog on someone's leash. I guess I'm lucky with my Estrela, as she communicates extremely clearly what she thinks of people we encounter on our walks. But also, here, no one brings their guard dog along with them to coffee shops etc., so people have not come to expect that free dog-petting is on offer. Having lived in this culture for a few years now, I must say I find it downright intrusive for anyone crowding around, trying to pet your dog. If they did this to a woman, they'd have the cops on their tail, but if a dog-owner gets their dog touched without permission and gets bit, THEY would probably try it on with dragging them to court. Again, I'm lucky as my dog will do the communicating for me. If anyone engages in conversation with me about the dog, she will quite clearly either growl and bark at them, or turn into a happily wagging and panting teddy bear. But I wouldn't want to own a Rottie, as those sometimes only give a short freeze as a warning, before they bite, and then of course, people are all shocked and outraged. But really, why would you risk it petting a strange dog? Not every dog communicates clearly, and hell, about 1% of owners are as aware as Jason Corey is, and as tuned in to their dog's body language.
The training tips you give are so good and on point. Even watching how you both are with Bruce has taught me so much as a dog owner. I have been training my dog the same way using the techniques you have highlighted in your videos and they work so well! My dog is now a much better behaved hdog compared to a year ago I can't believe it. I will be buying the books on training courses and I urge any other dog owner to do the same.
This is a great topic to talk about! This sort of happened to us today at the park. There was live music, which my CC is not at all used to, and another dog trying to play with my dog which he wasn’t really into at that moment because of the music. I decided it was best for us to go off on our own away from the other dog, before my dog got too over stimulated. We sat on a bench together just us two to get used to the music a bit :)
That was a good idea. Anything new to them gets their protective mode up fast because they are trying to determine if it is a threat. Also, the type of music makes a difference too.
I would just like thank the both of you with the contents of your videos. I find your videos good honest and full of very good advice, and I just love Bruce, so glad I have found your Chanel, great video thanks 💖😁
Way too much trouble having thar type of dog. Too much stress for me. Hes absolutely stunning and im glad there are peoole like you guys training them right and spreading that info!!!
My Cane Corso is 10 years and 8 months. He is 65 kg now and was 72 at his prime. Since 9 years old we have been reducing his weight. He is still in a very goog shape. He is a "potatoe coach" since being a puppy. Even as a puppy he refused to go out if it was raining. Now he demands more attention and seems to have less self-esteem. I hope he lives long enough to get into Guinness book. He has brought much happiness to our family.
I am learning so much from you! I've wanted a Cane Corso for 10 years now. I was afraid because I have yorkies and didn't know if they would be a good mix.
This conversation is so on point. Some people want to approach and touch your dog and in some situations and with some people (and with some dogs) , it just isn't going to work. As dog owners we all know our own dogs best and totally agree with what you guys say, you have to be your dogs advocate and say "no" if you read the situation and you feel it is not safe for your dog. We all know it is going to be our dog who gets labelled negatively if any exchange goes wrong.
Having a dog comes with a great responsibility. I totally agree with all the do's and dont's u said. Staring at a dog is a form of aggression in the dog world, I think smiling and showing teeth, too. Please don't bend down and get face to face with a dog too- if it's not your dog. Thanks guys for sharing this video to keep people safe to meet and greet dogs outside. Bruce Wayne is a total eye candy!
He is so beautiful. I would not approach him because he's a lot of dog to handle if things go sideways. I used to own a big beautiful Great Dane. People used to want to pet her all the time. Danes have a different personality than Cane Corsos though.
I got a cane corso 4 months ago, and I have for sure found its people that make training a dog hard not the dog, I've had to tell people to get away form her and leave her alone. Greeting her in a high pitched voice. People are a pain
Good video! I think a lot of people also assume that “socializing” your dog means letting him be pet by everyone and to meet every dog while out for a walk. Its good to just continue walking past people and almost ignore them. If you don’t focus on the harmless old lasy walking by then your dog can sense that and calmly be on his way. Then sometimes they put the dog in an uncomfortable situation because they can’t read his body cues. My doberman is well behaved in public but he usually has no interest in being pet by strangers. And thats fine, just have to know when he is okay with someone- and when he isn’t. I also never let people kneel down face to face with him. I don’t think he would ever bite someone- but why risk it?
I just found you guys and I found MY PEOPLE!! You get it~ when we're in training or in a walk and we're working and it's not the appropriate situation two ask to pet my dog~ I just say we're in "work time" and people are usually mindful .....
Great training tips. I have a miniature schnauzer and even he has been trained from a puppy. He will not take a treats from anyone, they have to give it to me then he will take it. He always looks up to me for permission to go see someone. Training is always the key.
Even small breeds can get triggered with strangers. We are responsible to teach people to respect your space. I find that a lot of people can be clueless about "private space." I appreciate all you have shared about training Bruce Wayne. It makes me more aware of my own private space. I was told once that I need to stop people at the "gate," rather than just let everyone just walk into "my house." I hope I explained that effectively. Bruce Wayne lets people know with his alertness and presence that the "gate" is there for their protection.😆
Seen one of these guys online from a shelter... I've always had shelter dogs and hand me downs... However the dog i was look at was has a great temperament... Hopefully one day I'll get one
Thank you guys for your advice! I purchased the Perfect Puppy Course and your vids have helped me navigate leading my GSD pup, who has similar behaviors to Bruce!💖
Good vid.. I don’t let anyone other than my family touch my dog.. she is 10 weeks, it’s not like she doesn’t like people. It’s me who doesn’t like people lol.. and my dog is getting into protection training once she hit 1year. This socialization thing is not about ur dogs meeting and touched by people or other dogs. To me it’s them getting used to seeing people and other dogs, that’s it.
Yes that happened the other day w my mastiff she was barking at man n I told him stop staring at her bc ur becoming a threat to me n her I’m so happy to c u guys say the same very educational video
Really enjoying your videos. I'm picking up my first Cane Corso in 3 weeks. I already have a mastiff Shar-Pei mix currently that I've had for 3 years, so a Cane Corso isn't very far out of my wheel house. I find your videos really informative and helpful and just wanted to say keep up the good work.
I know how your wife feels, you wanna be nice to people but you also wanna be nice to yourself and your dog. I really like her personality for some reason she seems so real and self-aware, and her laugh😆 haha super cute! You obviously got a keeper. You got 2 keepers! (Can't forget the drooly bear-panther)
One stranger thought it would be playful to 'pretend' stare at my cane corso in 'mock anger'. Fortunately my Conrad always looks at me for instructions before responding. But the stranger sure got a mouthful from me.
Please help with some advice . I have a male rotty and a female lab x collie . Will a female cane Corso get along with my dogs ? Or will it be unsafe when she is an adult ?
With Bruce waynes temperament I'd guess that he would make a great therapy dog. Or to stand along side children while in court to comfort them as they are involved in domestic violence cases! He is such a beautiful furbaby and your a great parent for him. Thanks for your videos they are so informative :-)
I have a blue pit and when I'm walking him by myself I avoid people and and try to keep his area more controlled versus when my husband is with us. For some reason people love to make eye contact and he hates it as well lol
Very much agree with Jason- it’s ok to say no. I’m always trying to watch body signals. Sometimes people get mad but it’s all about the Corso. One bad time can be so hard for our boy. Always do our best to set him up for success. Always end it on a positive note. Thank you for all of the information. Happy Easter everyone
Big dogs dont scare me lol I use to volunteer at animal shelters and a majority of the dogs I would deal with would be between a good medium sized staffordshire terrier to BW's size. We would do obedience training, just walks for one on one exercise, adoption events and bathings. So yeah...Bruce doesnt scare me. If anything, I have nothing but the upmost RESPECT for dogs like him.
I always wait for a dog in public to approach me, & even then I'll ask the owner if it's ok to pat - otherwise I'm happy to admire them from a distance (& without staring!).
I have a corso as well and I feel the exact same way as Cara!! I purposely don’t take Yager to the softball games because he’s always the biggest dog there and I don’t want people coming up to pet him because he’s sooo skiddish of weary people that act afraid. I also thought it was crazy how Bruce Wayne doesn’t like when people stare because my corso is the EXACT same way!!
I am pretty sure Bruce Wayne is the best looking Cane Corso there is. I have never seen as handsome as him. I am a Boxer lover myself (mine is Brutus) but I just love Bruce Wayne too! ❤️🐾
Good rule of thumb is crouch down and look at their chest, and put your hand back hand up, and let them smell and engage you. Then scratch the sides, unless you get a butt or a head nudge I never pet a dog I don't know on the top of the head
I miss my dog dam your dog reminds me of mine he passed away two years ago and I still miss him I use too call him azull I miss him a mans best friend wish I can get another one
The staring at the dogs eyes part: I don't know why people don't understand that! It's like, WE as people feel uncomfortable when someone stares, why wouldn't a dog feel that way as well? It's threatening.
i today had a staring contest with my 9 week old cane corso but he started it while i was eating my dinner and he was barking at me while not breaking eye contact. today i won. will i won in 9 months? we shall see.
This is why I have been teaching my kids to ask to pet dogs and not just do so! My oldest who is almost 5 now asks everytime when she wants to pet a dog especially service dogs
I've learned a lot about respecting a dogs space and it's owners no matter how nice the dog appears from you. How does Bruce feel about being petted kinda of aggressively (maybe an exaggeration) under the neck like at Lowes? I guess I don't like that style of petting a dog.
Hope you all had a great Easter you guys. I love Bruce Wayne, but I think I’ve missed something and I’m confused! Could you tell me where Bruce’s buddy, Neil the puppy is? Please please let me know, they’re adorable together. Keep up the amazing work with your beautiful dogs. Love to you guys from the UK.
Hi Jason always love watching your videos and listening to your advice about cane corso, I was meant to get my cane corso from Bosnia and get him sent to the UK, couldn't get export certificate so I bought a cane corso from Russia and get him in May.

Bruce's eyes are so unique & mesmerizing, so I can understand people staring at him. I just stare at him the whole video, because he is so beautiful.😍
"what is that, I wanna touch it". This made me laugh so hard. Never knew the wife was this funny. 👏👏

Bruce Wayne lets people know with his alertness and presence that the "gate" is there for their protection.😆
Siete bellissimi, fantastico il cane corso, viva i cani, un saluto da Bologna ciao
Seen one of these guys online from a shelter... I've always had shelter dogs and hand me downs... However the dog i was look at was has a great temperament... Hopefully one day I'll get one
Happy Easter I bought wills book waiting for it to get here
I'm tripping but can't stop wondering.. What actually happens when Bruce watches Batman....
Thank you guys for your advice! I purchased the Perfect Puppy Course and your vids have helped me navigate leading my GSD pup, who has similar behaviors to Bruce!💖
You three crack me up🤣😅😂😅🤣
Great information. I don’t shake hands and meet everyone at the grocery store. Same with dogs.
I find your videos really informative and helpful and just wanted to say keep up the good work.
right i just wanna know how heavy is he
I know how your wife feels, you wanna be nice to people but you also wanna be nice to yourself and your dog.
Or to stand along side
children while in court to comfort them as they are involved in domestic violence cases! He is such a
beautiful furbaby and your a great parent for him. Thanks for your videos they are so informative :-)
Jason keep on with these great videos me and blue always need these good advise! Hes doing great because of you💞🙏 bless you guys
SMALL DOGS tend to make me more nervous than big dogs lol
This true, I have a Chihuahua and he does not like to be pet by strangers.
I just got a cane corso/African boerboel mix. His name is Loki.
I love Kara Corey insight, thank you! 🤷♀️
Bruce always remain calm
Correcting “ badly” in public (could be worse at home)when I see that I stress for the animal.
He’s a handsome Boy!
That's the correct method and polite one
Dogs know which human they want to meet.
Thank you for this video, very helpful.
This is a very true and honest video totally cope with that
Bruce is so handsome... But scary as well
I love Bruce! I love him.
I am pretty sure Bruce Wayne is the best looking Cane Corso there is. I have never seen as handsome as him. I am a Boxer lover myself (mine is Brutus) but I just love Bruce Wayne too! ❤️🐾
She wasn't afraid, she was terrified. Kudos to her for overcoming it to pet him.
You guys are such cute little family ☺️
Good rule of thumb is crouch down and look at their chest, and put your hand back hand up, and let them smell and engage you. Then scratch the sides, unless you get a butt or a head nudge I never pet a dog I don't know on the top of the head
Cane Corso named Bruce Wayne....subscribed.
I love your videos I'm getting all the knowledge I can get I don't get my puppy until September your videos are very helpful
Side note- Kara, you look extra pretty in this video :)
I miss my dog dam your dog reminds me of mine he passed away two years ago and I still miss him I use too call him azull I miss him a mans best friend wish I can get another one
Aw, I LOVE Bruce Wayne, you and your wife did good❤
The staring at the dogs eyes part: I don't know why people don't understand that! It's like, WE as people feel uncomfortable when someone stares, why wouldn't a dog feel that way as well? It's threatening.
i today had a staring contest with my 9 week old cane corso
but he started it while i was eating my dinner and he was barking at me while not breaking eye contact.
today i won.
will i won in 9 months?
we shall see.
He is gorgeous 😍
This is why I have been teaching my kids to ask to pet dogs and not just do so! My oldest who is almost 5 now asks everytime when she wants to pet a dog especially service dogs
“Most dogs don’t like it”. I’ve been training dogs for over 25yrs and I have never met a dog who “likes” someone starring directly into their eyes.
I've learned a lot about respecting a dogs space and it's owners no matter how nice the dog appears from you. How does Bruce feel about being petted kinda of aggressively (maybe an exaggeration) under the neck like at Lowes? I guess I don't like that style of petting a dog.
He's fine......I got him used to all sorts of things as a pup.
