Okay, now that I've seen this video, it all makes sense. I just bought a set of Pinking Shears for my first machine sewing project in a long time. An Australian Navy portable sewing kit called a "Housewife". The Housewife I had that was issued to me over 30 years ago had a loose piece of white cotton that was pinked around the edges. The cloth was stiched down the middle and was used for holding pins and needles in it. But because the edges were pinked, it wouldn't fray. I wish I still had my Housewife. I've since lost it but I'm going to sew one myself.
Oh so many questions….. My serger machine scares me. Can I just use linking shears to clean the seams. And also what about starting with pinking shears to cut the pattern pieces out from the get go. In my mind, that’ll prevent raveling while sewing. Last question… can they be used on all fabric types
Good stuff. Prop glasses, wig. Please refrain from using the bogus and fake motivation phrase of ..." I'm excited..." . Good looking lady and nice t!ts.
Please Anastasia I have a pinking shears & they don’t cut, do you know if there’s a hack to sharpen them? Really appreciate it. Thanks 😊 Another question please, how do I do a piece of fabric because I’m going to embroider the tulip ribbon appliqué on the 50% linen & 50% cotton; then o want to attach it to the t-shirt & saw it on place like I wad doing an appliqué. I would like to make an iron-on appliqué , please do you know which is the best one. Thanks so much 🤗❤️ Sara PS: I enjoy your videos.
I'd use Heat n Bond for the iron-on applique. I don't know how one would sharpen pinking shears. It sounds really tricky with all those little teeth! I'm glad you like my videos!
Thanks so much for your reply, I have used the aluminum but didn’t work. For regular scissors I’ve tried broken ceramic & worked for me. About the appliqué with heat $ bond I cut a piece larger than the hoop, embroider it but please can you explain me the part of heat & bond if’s not too much to ask? Thanks ❤️

Huh how cool! Send pics! I would love to see it .
As a child I would use my mom's picking shears to put a pretty edge on my papers.
Oooooooo no….. lol 😂
My mom wouldn’t let me touch her sewing scissors especially on paper. Your mom was either very patient or not a serious sewer.
I love it when you talk dirty. 😂

Another UA-cam video showed howto sharpen pinking shears by cutting aluminum foil a couple of times with your shears. Haven’t tried it myself yet.

Meaning of pinking shears
To finish the edges! To prevent them from fraying and falling apart. Thank you for watching.
