Very informative, as I was about to cut up a bunch of flour sack towels with regular scissors, and thought- wait, am I going to have to hem these?? Thanks so much!!
Helpful tutorial, thank you. Over the years, my pinked edges were coming out a bit crooked, so I made a square template from card stock, using squares with borders from google images, sized it to what I need, then traced around the back of my project I wanted to cut. For the most part this made cutting with pinking shears easier, to cut along the line. I'd say it came out 98% straight. Maybe one day they'll come out with a lighter pair of pinking shears for us to use, instead of what feels like hedge clippers :)
Why didn’t i know you could get a pinking blade for a rotary cutter! I use my pinking shears for all sorts of things they’re not technically made for. Seldom for edge finishing though. The edges look messy to my eye.
That's really helpful and clearly explained. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the explanation . 😊 I use them and know they work but NEVER understood why 😅😅

Well, if they're not wide then the teeth can't form big enough peaks to work properly. You might try a pinking blade on a rotary cutter instead.
@@Mellysews It's not the shears - it's me - haha, I have a crooked eye ;)
Thank you for this video. Can you use pinking shears/pinking rotary blade after you've sewed a seam together?
Yes, just be very careful not to cut the stitching and do it before pressing a seam open.
