Another way is to put in some shims before the first bearing. I usually use two 5x7x0.5mm shims. But it depends on the actual car. Sometimes one 0.3mm shim is already enough.
That's really good to know because I'm about to start building 2 dt03's. I've got a racing fighter for myself and a neo fighter for my wife. She had a shot of my rally beetle and really enjoyed it, so she wants me to build her a buggy for her Christmas. Now that I'm getting the racing fighter for my Christmas she's challenged me to a race!! This little tip for the bearings should give me an advantage over her. That, and a 19t pinion. 😂😂
I'm in the process of finishing up my own DT-03 Racing Fighter build. Haven't discovered this issue yet, but I'm glad you posted this video. I'll definitely make sure to resolve this issue in my own car. Cheers!
Hi I tried your method as the wobble annoyed me ...I found that tightening the locknut down actually caused friction on the wheel slowing it down. As soon as you let it back off a touch the wobble was still there..
Awesome wobble fix dude! So a flanged bearing is what this is called? Should work for other makes too right!? Very helpful video. Thanks! New subscriber here! 😎🤙🏽
Anyone know what tyres are on the wheels in the video? My Neo Fighter DT-03 came with grooved tires on the front but they provide what feels like ZERO grip at all on carpet.

I have used M5 X 10 X 0.8 red fibre washers over the outside bearing. Reduces wobble and also helps keep the dirt out. Cheaply availabe on eBay.
Good tip! Thanks! Could a 1mm shim do the same?

Tamiya do various thickness shims to place inbetween the bearings.Use these on every Tamiya car i own.

Better to shim it. The gap is not always 1 mm.
Thank you so much for this fix what a legend 👌 nowhere has the right shim's available but this is a much better fix 👍

That's great 👍, I have this issue with my Tamiya blackfoot
