    BICOL PINANGAT RECIPE
    INGREDIENTS:
    1/4 kg shrimp, peeled and deviened
    Salt to taste
    Meat of 2 coconuts, grated
    2 onion chopped
    1 tbsp grated ginger
    3 cloves garlic
    10 fresh gabi leaves (should be intact with no holes)
    Tanglad leaves to tie each pinangat
    3 stalks of tanglad (lower white portions only), smashed
    1 cup thin coconut milk
    2 cups coconut cream
    #pinangat

    Dito po sa amin sa Tabaco City, Albay tawag po namin jan ay tilmok; magkaiba po ang dalawa; ang pinangat po sa amin ay di nilalagyan ng buko. Ang pinangat po namin ay may karneng baboy, bagoong alamang, bawang, sibuyas, luya, paminta, at saka seasoning pa at syempre imimix sa kakang gata. Yan ang imimix sa nkhandang ginayat na dahon ng gabi.

    Can you use the young coconut meat as well as the shrimps without chopping them so that the filling is chunky?
    Also, instead of cooking the pinangat over lemon grass, can you cook it over taro stems and lay the lemon grass over the pinangat?

    its not PINANGAT . i know that because i am a bicolana . INULUKAN tawag djan kasi may laman sya . pag sinabing PINANGAT is pure Gabi Leaves lang sya lalagyan mo lang ng panlasa and add pork chicken or fish then add coconut cream , while simmer you can add coconut cream and wait until it cooked . beside my grandma using also oregano pag papakuluan na sya sa pinakailalim sya ilalagay kasi aroma ang oregano. and CAMALIGnon po ako municipality po namin yan PINANGAT FESTIVAL po ang sinecelebrate namin 😊😊
