  • HOW TO COOK PINANGAT NA GABI Bicol Recipe... Tinumok as other Bicolanos called this... This is commonly prepared with a ground pork (i substitute cream dory fish fillet here instead of pork) and shrimps with some spices and stuffed in fresh Taro leaves. Cooked with coconut milk with some spices like ginger, onions, garlic, lemon grass and chilies makes this recipe savory.
    Ingredients:
15 to 20 pcs fresh taro leaves
1 whole buko with thick meat
250 gms fish fillet (cream dory)
    250 gms shrimps, shelled
    3 medium onions
    1 head garlic
    2 thumbs ginger
    1 tsp fine salt
    1/2 tsp ground black pepper
    1/2 cup coconut cream
    siling labuyo
    siling haba pangsigang
    2 1/2 cup coconut milk
    1 cup coconut cream
    1 tbsp sugar

I’m a Bicolana and that’s not pinangat, “tinulmok” tawag nyan sa amin na usually taba ng talangká ang ginagamit namin. You should try the real pinangat na gawa sa Camalig City Albay.

You're right Marilyn... this is a variation of tinumok and i've mentioned it in the description box... in the tagalog region they call this dish as pinangat na gabi... thank you for watching.
