Great stuff! What is the purpose of the snapshot? Couldn’t it just be a hard cut to second clip? Thanks for all you do.
The snapshot stops the viewer from seeing the ping pong ball bouncing out of the pan, and serves as a background for the frying pan mask. If you do a hard cut my hand was still in the scene and it would have just disappeared. That would have ruined the entire effect so I masked the snapshot to just show the frying pan when the egg hits. The video layer above it can still be scene and my hand naturally leaves the scene.
same question... i mean if your reasoning was to hide your hand. i think it would be easier to just drag the egg part and mask the 1/2 side

Can still hear the ping pong ball bouncing after the egg hits frying pan. Also would this effect work with someone snapping their fingers and changing outfits
During the tutorial you can because I didn’t remove it. You can’t hear the bouncing when I do the effect at the beginning 0:00

NicE! But can you also edit out the bouncing sound of the ping pong ball?
If you watch the demo at the beginning of the video the audio of the bouncing ping pong ball is edited out after it hits the frying pan. There was no need to show how to do that during the tutorial as this video is about the effect, not the audio. If you don't know how to mute or edit audio I have plenty of tutorials for that. The video on track 3 is blue when the mask designer is selected which means that is what the mask is being applied to.

Is there a difference in the program between mobile and computer?
Yes. They are completely different. They each have to have separate subscriptions. You can transfer projects form mobile to PC but not the other way. If you want to see my tutorials for mobile check out my other channel ua-cam.com/users/pdumobile

That’s a good word Pastor Maliek! I forget about masks and need to get into better habits. Sometimes I spend hours in Colordirector trying to cut out things with motion tracker when I think a mask would accomplish the same much quicker. Any time saved gives me more time to be creative. New user. Imported a clip and it plays fine in the preview but when I drag it to the timeline the audio completely drops out after a a minute. the rest of the waveform is flat. I've restarted the program and computer several times. Any ideas?
What is the codec and file format of the video? What is the codec of the audio?

@@movetohuntsville mov is the file container. PowerDirector for PC only works with certain mov codecs. Also, if it is Prores it doesn’t work with anything over 10bit 4:2:2. The snap shot keeps you from seeing the ping pong ball leave the pan. The mask removes his hand from the frame. At 2:34 you see the snap shot, with his hand. There are various ways to layer that frame. I would probably come at it a little differently, but his looks great. A very smooth finished product. 😎

You have to mask the picture so that only the pan shows. This allows you to move your arm out of the shot when the cut is made from the ball to the egg. If you don't do that then the arm just disappears when the egg hits and it looks fake.

dont get why all the masking stuff? cut the video as ping pong hits pan, cut video from start of egg breaking, join the two clips up???
No, that wouldn’t work. My hand was in the scene when the egg hit the pan so if I did a hard cut my hand would just disappear and the effect would be ruined. Masking the snapshot allows me to stop the ping pong ball when it hits the pan while allowing the video layer above to keep playing so my hand naturally leaves the scene.
Maybe I need to watch it again, but I didn't understand why you needed the screenshot...
My hand was still visible when the egg hit the pan. Without the screenshot and the mask it would have jumped from my hand being on the screen to just disappearing. Not very realistic...
You should have muted the ball track when the egg landed. You can hear it bouncing.
Watch demo in the beginning demo. No need to mute it at the end. Seems like you know how to do that.
After u was done, i could hear the pingpong bal bouncing. you forgot to edit the sound out . 😅😅😅. Or you just lefted it, there i dont know 😂😂😂i just noticed it.
It is left in when I do the tutorial. In the beginning at 0:00 when I show the finished effect the sound is not their.

hello. do you know how to solve my problem? As im editing my gameplay video, the video is always lagging in powerdirector. but whenever i just watch the video file by itself without powerdirector, its nice and smooth. do you know how to solve this? i even did a render preview and the video gameplay is still lagging
If your screen recorder uses variable frame rate to keep the file size smaller then it will be out of sync in PowerDirector. You need to record at a constant frame rate or use Handbrake to convert your file to constant frame rate

You can use a green screen on the floor and then place a clip of lava there. You can mask out the section of the floor and place the lava clip there.

@@tegeo42 Loved it! Great work with the hard boiled egg and the strawberry. The only issue I saw was that the pan changed before you bounced the ping pong ball into it. Not sure if that was because you stopped recording to add oil to the pan or something else.
