Another cool video Tristan! Tenkara nirvana for sure! Still waiting for the “keys to finding good creeks to fish” as your title suggests! 🤔🤷🏻♂️😁 Keep em coming & we’ll keep “liking & subscribing”! Neil.
Tristan, that is a Line Keeper. It is to be used to safely Cary the line on a taken down rod while moving from one fishing place to another temporarily. Line keepers are not ment for long term line storage. They are quicker and easier than removing a line from the rod
Awww Tristan…I was taken in by the title. Putting a western road trip together and hoping to renew my dormant fishing passion. Thinking you could make pithy remarks and observations that might fan the flame. Oh well. 😟 I guess the fishing was good in spite of the lack of inspiration.
I catch Whitefish on the Provo every time I go, big ones too. They fight harder than any other fish in the river, but they also take a long time to recover. I end up spending 2-5 minutes with them in the current before they swim off again.
Tristan, it seems a disproportionate number of hookups happen on the SECOND pass of the fly through the holding lie. Any thoughts as to whether this seems true?
I have noticed that you fish up the creeks. Do you ever revisit certain pools as you hike back down the creek? I tend to fish up to a certain point then back down. That's why I ask.
And winding it on a spool every time you need to take the rod down for rod and line safety…Karl. Sorry about the split comment…Karl. As usual, Great Video work.
Speaking only for the Utah streams like this one- Cutthroats and whitefish are native. Brookies are introduced. The DNR has been working to re-establish native cutthroats in some areas, and in a few cases are first treating the water to get rid of the brookies. But in many of the streams and lakes they plant small fry of several different species every year or every few years.
Thinking about getting into fishing on alpine backpacking trips, but wanted to know if anyone has recommendations for a lightweight fishing net to carry with? I'm not very confident in my abilities to grab fish by hand, assuming I catch any, that is.
Nice video, love the location and water type, my favorite. With regard to describing rods, you should describe the rod's action and characteristics, and not just state your opinion if it's a good, bad or great rod. It's all subjective to an individual's preferences. I know you prefer soft rods, and tend to praise them whereas you talk down stiff, or stiffer rods. I'm just the opposite, and do not like soft rods, and would appreciate a Tom Davis type breakdown, along with your opinion. You and Tom typically don't fish the same rods so it would be nice if you could objectively describe the rod's action and characteristics, followed by your personal opinion.
@@docdune his goal isn't to keep every fish. His primary goal is making sure the fish get released safely without unnecessary harm, which is why most fly fisherman fish and tenkara fisherman with barbless hooks.
Another nice day on the stream. Whitefish are a very tasty fish, when caught in the colder months and smoked. Thanks, and enjoy.
Hey, you bring such fun to our lives-those stuck in offices, etc. It's a magical stream, indeed!
Always enjoy your rod reviews. And how could one _not_ enjoy a creek like that!?
Great way to start a Saturday morning. Stunning number of fish in beautiful water. Well done!
Doesn’t get much better than that. Glad that stream paid off for you. Thanks for sharing your awesome experience.
Beautiful and peaceful place for fishing 😊❤
that was a little dream stream! Im off out to chuck some line after watching that, great way to kick off the weekend. Thanks Tristan :)

Thanks for the nice trip up a great creek
Incredible creek!
Good fishing , enjoy
Thanks for the nice videos!! Question: did you even encounter a bear while fishing? Or are they not in your area?

Good morning , Tristan 😊
Excited!
Do you use barb less hooks
do you guys get rainbow trout as well?

Great stream / creek!
What's the fishing license situation where you fish? I've not heard you address that in any of the videos I've seen.

Those creeks in your videos are naturally, organically populated or restocked from time to time?
Thnx

I carry a collapsible one I got on Amazon a few years ago. Does the job.

Lol; his videos are his videos. You can do your own however you like!
Can I assume the hooks are barb-less.?
They are
tip for the pros: you lose less fish using a barb.
@@docdune are you actually being serious?
@@funkehouse yes, you will lose less fish with a barbed hook
