      Yes, there is a difference, @@patrickparker8417. But how else would you be able to tell if someone's alleged salvation is authentic?
      Remember: there are folks who doubt Dr. Wood's salvation because of his lack of feelings/sympathy/empathy.

      IndianaJoe0321 the Bible says that if your confess Jesus is lord and beloved in your heart he rose from the dead you’ll be saved.
      Secondly, God will judge his heart not us.
      Thirdly he has done more for the kingdom than most pastors I know so your quote on know me by the fruits goes in favor of David.
      David has done a lot. More than even pastors of mega churches. I have no doubt.
      Finally I think you should focus on the verse that says judge not lest you be judged too

    Psychopaths can be saved by truth. Absent of remorse, psychopaths are still capable of recognizing the truth. Absent of remorse, psychopaths can still be convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the truth, the way, and the life.

      Every one is saved through faith in word of truth - the Gospel of our salvation. Feelings are from brain chemistry. Repentance - metanoia is from conviction by Spirit of Truth - Holy Spirit about sin, about salvation and about judgment of God. None is saved through feelings.
      I like that people have proper feelings according truth. I do not like that people have good felings while live in sin and that they have bad feelings about faith, holiness and eternal hope. Feelings are not a measure of faith and holiness.

But it's a start that apparently he told you? I'm guessing, because you said he process emotions differently. Anyway, be open with each other and pray. That's what I'd suggest.

      I hope you got out. Narcissists are rough. Mine is out w/ his girlfriend right now. We've had a 9 year relationship, and the last year finding out about his gf and his creeping around on me was bad. It got worse over a month ago when I caught him again and now he does it openly while still living here.

    • @banjokazooie8124
      @banjokazooie8124 Рік тому +2

      My dear, the vast majority of narcissists can't be changed because they are so sick in the head. The only way that they can change if they can develop self-reflection. I highly recommend that you get out of that relationship immediately and pray that God can open his eyes and give him the comprehension of self-reflection. In the mean time, stay away from him and put up strong boundaries against him.

    • @mugogrog
      @mugogrog Рік тому +3

      Sure they can change but the reason they change is not because they suddenly grow a conscience, they lack that part. The reason they change if they do is because they've calculated that it would be a net benefit to them. The moment it's not they'll do something else.
      If your husband is truly a malignant narcissist I suggest you get out when you can. That belief that you can change someone is what keeps every beaten spouse in their toxic relationships when they could be living a life that is truly good for them.
      I get it, we do want to care for other people (yes, even an atheist like myself often puts others before myself) but in this case it truly is a hopeless pursuit.

I’ve fallen for that trip of expecting feelings of guilt in order for me to try to repent which I fail miserably time and time again. I finally started to make a clear humble decision to repent which is to never return to sin again. Thank you brother David Wood!

    David Wood has a good version of audacity to stand up for the faith right in the face of those who would try to make him and other Christians feel bad for being Christian. For others who are very emotional and very sensitive to criticism, that ability would be a real quality or talent to develop, not to be unfeeling, but to be strong in the faith, unmoved by detractors and haters, and to proclaim THE truth (Jesus is the truth) that sets us free to live abundantly and to love as Jesus loved us.

      @@mugogrog I concur, and its a reason people need to read the bible, not rely exclusively on what is said in church or radio sermons, which can be educational though. The bible has things in it that you won't hear, and you'd be reminded again and again, that we need to *discern* - and Jesus did not bend for anyone, or fall for things at face value. It is replete with examples.

  • @klarag7059
    @klarag7059 5 років тому +3

    100% agree. Shame and guilt can be misleading and also manipulated. Cults, for example, can incite overwhelming emotional response to coerce and control. An unrepentant person can feel overwhelming shame and guilt, or the perception of guilt, but then be angry for feeling weak and may turn against the one they first harmed as if they were to blame for making them look or feel bad. This is often recognised in the cycle of domestic violence. Eventually, showing remorse, guilt, shame, can be purely for show in order to manipulate and control the person(s) abused).

    People who think he should cry to show his remorse... all that proves to me is that they don't understand what it means to be a psychopath. If he were crying to try to convince you of his remorse, that would be MANIPULATION, as sociopaths DO NOT feel remorse. Instead, he admits that he knows it was wrong, though he emotionally doesn't feel guilt. At least he isn't faking. That shows integrity. It is hard for me to trust sociopaths, and because of that I have to admit that I do struggle with listening to David Wood. That being said, I believe we serve a miracle working God, and so I look forward to seeing him in heaven some day.

    It's the truth that convicts us of sin to save us. Emotions play no part. The root of salvation is the Truth, revealed in Jesus.
    I truly am starting to believe that the false holy spirit in the last days is people's emotions/feelings. People thinking because it feels good it's love, because it's pleasing to the world it's truth. I see it deceiving a lot of church leaders. Wanting to make people "happy". The Holy Spirit is a higher/deeper place that is not emotion. To walk in the Spirit is to not walk in our own emotions which are self serving and deceptive. I'd really like to hear others thoughts on this as it's been something that has had my attention for a while during my time spent in God's presence during prayer and fellowship.

      Salvation really is a miracle from God whether a person is a psychopath or not. Thank God the Holy Spirit is the One who convicts and makes Christians. Like IndianaJoe said, the logical truth lines up with God's Word. If a person values truth more than being right, they can be humbled enough to receive it. In David's testimony, he said the Christian he knew in prison simply asked him questions. This caused David to have to reevaluate his own worldview.
      Both Orpah and Ruth cried when Naomi was leaving to return to Israel. Orpah returned to her pagan background, yet Ruth was determined to stay with Naomi. Repentance is not merely tears, but a change of heart and direction. Just like how love is more than emotions that come and go. Agape love is sacrificial and willing to endure no matter the cost.

    According to Strongs concordance, number G3340, the Greek word 'repent' as uttered by Jesus in Mark's gospel chapter 1 v 15 means 'To think differently or afterwards, that is, re-consider'. I believe it has nothing to do with feelings or even feeling bad. It has to do with thinking differently about what you used to do. A realization that it was the wrong way to live and a conscious choice to not live that way any longer.

      No, that's not it. Saying one thing is not true does not make the inverse true. It's also important to keep in mind that feelings and internal processes don't necessarily change overnight, nor do they have to. That is part of sanctification. That is a part of being born again. God gives us a new heart which then grows and learns to seek and love him. That is what matters. As a result of that, the outward changes and respond accordingly. It's a process.

    When becoming a christian and being a christian is about feelings, you are vulnerable to your needs and criticisme of people, because feelings are subjective. When logic is the source of repentance and change of your life and choices, it will not depend of feelings and whatever happens to you in life because you have an understanding of God and Christ and what He has done for us and what our purpose is. Nothing is so capricious as feelings. Your believe will not perpetuate.

    The way I see this is that a person with a fully functioning brain able to allow that person to physically experience feelings of guilt, remorse and empathy will respond to the gospel by showing some outward physical sign that their spirit is being affected by the truth of the gospel where as a psychopath or someone who lacks the ability to physically experience the feelings of guilt, remorse and empathy is going to respond to the gospel by looking at the cross logically and coming to the conclusion that it makes good sense that they, being sinners according to scripture, need a savior and that Jesus was and is that savior which is evident based on the life that He lived, the things that He did that no other person could do and the instances where He Himself openly acknowledged His identity as the Messiah.
    So I think for the Christian psychopath the truth of the gospel is more of a logical and rational set of cause and effect events that make sense rather than what would be the standard Christian reaction to the gospel which is usually expressed very emotionally.

    Repentance doesn't mean turn a way. Its from the Greek word "metanoia" which means change of mind. Believing on the Lord Jesus to save you from the penalty of sin which is death and hell.
    So a psychopath has to recognize that he needs and savior he doesn't necessarily need to feel emotionally guilty. So when he recognizes he can't save himself and place his faith on Jesus Christ to save him he has repented and believed for salvation.

    The repentance that saves is believing on Christ alone for salvation. When you have believed you have repented unto life.
    Jesus Christ gets all the glory for saving anyone and as such He will not save anyone who is trusting partially in their good works and partially in Him. Jesus paid for all the sins of all the world (past, present, and future). That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation.
    To be saved you must admit that you are a hopelessly lost sinner and turn (repent)from whatever you trusted in before and trust Jesus Christ as your only hope of getting to Heaven. You are trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

I have lived a good life, a spoiled life and even a poor extremely low income poor life. I feel comfortable in the poor life but able to work for others no matter their income. • @dearbrave4183
    @dearbrave4183 4 роки тому

    Psychopaths can believe in the gospel because it's based on faith,understanding and actions not feelings.And they have the ability to do all that. If one is led by their feelings in order to do God's will, they will be led by their feelings to stop doing God's will. Because a sin can feel bad for the first time but after repetitive exposure you might get accustomed and start enjoying it. And if you base you faith on your feelings, you will say why would God make it a sin if it feels so good? But if you're lead your life by what you know to be true(faith & understanding) you will say regardless how it feels because God says it's a sin I won't do it anymore. My biggest battle has been putting my feelings above the word of God or using them to justify my sins. So being a psycho can have its benefits after all.

So even though you aren’t emotional I guess you have a softened heart of flesh given by God, right? You decided in your mind to repent (which of course was an act of God). Recognize your sin feel guilt about sin recognize you need help and ask for forgiveness while repentant changing your mind and actions to not repeat the act. How can a psycho truly be saved based on those principles if there tendency is to obsessively commit the act (even tho they recognize its wrong) how can they be sincere with wanting forgiveness if they dont feel bad for what they did. Sound like your saying if you get a psycho to confess sin ask for forgiveness then you've won a soul to heaven. But this isnt how salvation works and has painful as it may be this video still doesn't answer or resolve the complicated opposition of salvation such as this one and other mental illness. So if the person mental illness cause them to still commit horrible acts and there not caught yet because of christianity influence they ask god for forgiveness yet they continue there sinful psycho act that they cant stop on there own. Are they heaven or hell bound? Most importantly is it consistent evidence to prove holy spirit can change that person regardless of there capabilities?
