Just got my new motorcycle. I decided on a 2017 Kawasaki KLR 650. This will be a great bike for outdoor adventures like fishing, camping, and just having fun.

Ron C I've done a few things. Next for me has to be a taller windshield. I'm almost 6'4" and the stock one is no bueno. I also want to get saddle bags

@@BugOutdoors I've got the Madstad windscreen and really like it. I'm only 6'1", but it helps. I also got the 2" rox risers to make standing a bit easier. Here ares my mods as of June of this year-

Get some barkbusters too.This bike is awesome,i bought mine new in 2013,before that had zx1400,but klr ,its just great,cops dont see you,good for trails,easy to work on...if you go off roading ,it pays to check after every ride nutts and bolts and screws ,apart from that ,you ll love it..

I recently bought a 2018 in yellow and could have had a 2017 just like yours for a couple of hundred less but I told myself to go with the final year of the Gen 2. (Even though I prefer the color of the 17) I'm in RPM jail right now with the weather (Humboldt County, Ca.) and work schedule not cooperating with me at 89 miles in the past month. I think that I'll do the first oil change a bit early and do a couple of mods today and tomorrow.

Yes when I bought mine I had the option for the 18 black or yellow for about 300 more but green is my favorite color and it's the exact same bike so I went with green. A few months after I bought mine my father also bought one and ran into the same situation. he almost bought the yellow one but also ended up with a 17 green. Now he definitely regrets it and wishes he would have bought the yellow one. The yellow is absolutely gorgeous. Yes RPM jail definitely was not fun. I also did my first oil change early. I ended up having a major oil leak and found that the factory camshaft seal was bad had to have that replaced so keep an eye out for leaking oil
