I've had that cover/pad on my 2017 for about a year now. Seems pretty good. Recently did a couple of 500 mile trips...ouch...I don't think any seat, or cover would've helped..lol. Blue loctite....those screws will loosen. I keep a check on mine.
I bought the Blue (medium strength) loctite, the "stick" form. It's like a big tube of chapstick and I only put a small amount. I figure that it will be enough to keep the screw, or bolt, or nut from rotating no matter the vibration. But yeah, I put it on every bolt I remove.
I am not guaranteeing they'll fall out, mind you. I've only had mine for a year this month and I did check most of the nuts and bolts a couple of times a month for the first 6 months, or so. Now, when I take something off, it gets a small dab of the blue waxy loctite. I think I've added most of the farkles I want over the last year...lol. last thing I want is a fender mount for some LED aux lights.
@@Ron_C oh I agree and it's better safe than sorry. Yes I want to get some lights on mine too. I actually have a set of Lights I just need a way to mount them. The only thing I want is windshield and saddlebags.
A little late, but I just bought one of these for my 99 KLR with a seat that's actually harder than the factory seat was. (I have no idea what foam they used, but it's like sitting on a slab of wood, or I just had the old foam broken down.) I don't know that I needed the video, but the zip ties are exactly what we need because over time the straps will loosen and need to be retightened. As it ages, be careful because the buckles will start to get brittle and eventually break, but I think the seat itself will be worn down before that happens.
Hmm mine is actually really soft. Almost like a squishy foam. Yeah I figure itll break down over time but luckily mine is stores indoors so it's only on the sun if I'm riding. Thanks for the feedback. Ride safe
The seat cover has worked fantastic. Every few months I reapply the waterproof spray and that's it. Its comfortable and also seems to help with sliding on the seat. Well worth 20 or so bucks it cost
@@BugOutdoors I'm going to throw one on my KLR, i'm on a 04 I just picked up. I've only done a few little upgrades so far. Low profile oil plug, tusk shifter and today I'm putting on some front crash bars.
This was super helpful thanks buddy!
Your welcome. It was a great product that I highly recommend.
@@BugOutdoors glad to hear I’m about to put mine on my tw200
Real cool I have TW 200 hopefully the seat cover helps. Good video.
It should help. I have no complaints 👍

Are you saying to locktite the plastics and seat bolts? I know pretty much all bolts on a klr will loosen

Sounds good. I have some I'll have to add it

@@SouthWestIron that's awesome. Crash bars weren't fun to put on.
@@BugOutdoors strange its like like 4 bolts on my 1st gen, super simple.
@@SouthWestIron yeah it is. The swmotech bars don't line up very good on a gen 2. Takes some persuasion lol
