Yesterday I went lee sin support and no one even said anything or even asked. Wtf is this season
Tenma we’re in season one-ish phase of the meta where everyone plus the pros are looking for the next must-pick champ/role to replace “crit marksman”
Honestly having fun not babysitting as a support but actively making combo play with ballzy bruisers or bursty mages
Unlike being a burst healing someone that complains a lot or perma CC an enemy for my slow-ramping damage marksman

I dodged the game and nobody asked about it
Lee support sounds pretty legit to me, you can shield your partner and kick the enemy away or into the turret, not to mention your skillshot engage and aoe to help chunk and farm.

I was the last person in my group to play league, and I didn't think riot can do anything to push me out of league. Boy was I wrong.
Jay im actually glad adcs are gone. Maybe they overdid this but god the meta was getting boring. Now you can literally plsy anything anywhere which is very nice

Thibaul Ryer they actually did wtf. Assassins lost to adcs when not snowballing out of control (for instance a 4/0 talon would lose to any adc with a shield support)
Devs are constantly changing the game so it doesn't become as stale as other games. boo hoo if you don't like it, take a break, come back a few patches later and stop acting like a little btch.
Also 8.12 nerfed alot of shield supports and their shield durations.
thank fucking god, if i'm not at least 3 kills and didn't have my core i don't even make the adc flinch
this is more shitty with the fact that now crit adcs has to go stormrazor(so now instead of triple it is quadra crit) now only leaves one item slot, they nerfed the price of bortk and bt to compensate but most adcs didn't even go for that before the patch, they much prefered qss and ga over these items

Ive been an adc main for 6 years. It was the first role i learned, and i fell in love with the play style. I can play other roles and champs. I even have fun, but league without adc doesnt feel like my league... You know? I'm thinking ill take a break from the game

Even as ADC main I don't dislike the meta itself, I only dislike the fact that games end super fast.
Getting snowballed on (or snowballing myself) doesn't make the game fun to me, winning a close match is the best!
I respect your opinion, but being a 25/2 Darius is pretty fun.
A close game is only fun for ADC players because that's where your champ gets the time to really shine and become the only important player on your team. For everyone else, it's just stressful as fuck and frustrating to have to hope for the near braindead chimpanzee in bot lane to be able to be carried by your optimal fight picking and engages/support.
That 25/2 Darius is fun for one player only, pretty bad ratio if you ask me.
Also every champion can carry the lategame teamfight, if you need to hope for you ADC to carry you you're a bad player.
If you don't like being the underdog and the pressure of needing to play to your best abilities to win, then go play Mario Kart!
Well, it's fun for 5 players. That's not the point though. When you reached late game, as a rule you'd be forced to just try to enable your ADC. Please just reread my comment and understand what I'm saying.
And did you read my comment? Having a fed guy on my team is Freelo, sure but fun? Nope, that's near as bad as having to rely on your ADC.
And as long as you pick a champion you're comfortable on (that isn't Pyke or Pantheon) you should still have fun in a close game.
If anything a close game is close either because both teams are playing really good (and save) and none manages to get a lead which agreeably can be a bit boring but what I actually meant is a game where one team is constantly ahead while the other is doing a great job defending.
That doesn't mean it needs to be a 65 minutes ADC fiesta, the game just doesn't have to snowball and it can still end at 40 minutes (or earlier if you don't pull the upset).
Since the current meta is all about snowballing this does rarely happen, I win without any difficulty or just loose without being able to do anything.
Guess what needs more skill: winning an early 2v2, taking first brick and just snowballing from there or protecting, outplaying (or being flawless as) the ADC in multiple teamfights where one small misstep you do can loose the game while a great play can win it.
If you think it's all about ADC lategame then next time there's an ADC meta just go afk after 40 minutes and see how the game goes.
you also have to consider the amount of pressure put on ADC mains to carry because if we dont, we get flamed to oblivion. if anything it's more stressful for the ADC.
I'm not an ADC player, in fact it's my least played role, i prefer mages and bruisers.
But the fact that AD marksmen being useless and basically any random champ being played anywhere is destroying this game. AD marksmen champions are the reason late game was a thing, without them you have a bunch of snowballing champs running around and whoever gets to snowball first wins the game. The game had a sense of direction before, and now that direction is gone. In this meta, when an op champ gets nerfed and leaves the meta, the game becomes more hectic again because bunch new stuff are going to be played and those champs will have a bunch of counter picks making everything a clusterfuck of random champs played in any lane. With marksmen being a permanent carry role that teams can strategize and draft around in champ select made the game a true strategy game.
No one wants to play a 40 minutes game dude, the lategame thing is straight bs. Crit adcs should die and replace them with onhit ones, the diverse meta is so much better, only problem is the funneling strat, but it'll get fixed in 3-4 patches
Shawn Uchiha how is this not strategic anymore? You can draft a com around your mid laner or your top lane bruiser if you want to. The old strategy was let's try to snowball this game if it doesn't work, let the ADC farm and hope that player is good so he can carry us. Now you need to think more about the enemy's global composition and not just a lane matchup. The thing you need to understand now is the weakness in the enemy's team and try to focus your efforts over there.
Honestly I think in the long run this will only prove to be beneficial for the game because now you can play almost anything you want anywhere as long as it fits the comp. With a champ roster so huge this is almost mandatory.

It's a strategic game for a reason, you can draft for an early game comp to overpower the team who drafts for full late game, but if they manage to hold out your early game pressure then they have the upper hand.
But now, it's just randomness and whoever snowballs first wins the game.

Home of Music True, I purchased several adc's since it was my favorite role, now, I can't even go into lane without being bursted down to a quarter of my health in a second. Edit: To add insult to injury, I got lunar wraith caitlyn out of a chest, want to use it but I can't play her.
I don't hate the game or bandwagon on the rip LoL but ive quit till i can pick ADCs again. Wont be long imo and its always good to take a small break

He really isn't. He's basically locked into an AP or on hit build path, and he doesn't feel like half the champion that he used to be without his passive. Yeah having an active on your W to make your Q feel like a more satisfying snipe is cool, but it isn't worth completely gutting his passive.
Also on a side note, his passive was super lore friendly. The bonus attack speed felt like he was really going on a murder frenzy whenever he killed anything. (And I am talking about his real lore. not this fake substitution revolving around two twinks and a demon)

Tom Wanders I think one thing that made her so much less strong than she was before was that a while ago they made it so her E did not refund the full mana cost on killing which made it so you had to completely change up the way you cs (which had an ebb and flow to it) and made it so you couldn’t use it to build a cs lead on the enemy and be an early game adc. Her whole playstyle before was to try and win small skirmishes and build a cs lead to close out the game before it got too late. As her teamfight was weaker than others you sort of had to kill off your enemy laner, which wasn’t hard, until they nerfed her. Not only did that E nerf come in but she also had her ult cooldown nerfed so it made it much less justifiable to use just to get a kill in lane.
Honestly she hasn’t been affected by the adc changes much but she has just been bad for a bit due to some nerfs just for those guys in pro play.
Zil support + veigar bot is super good.
Zil's Q stun radius and veigar's stun zone almost perfectly match up, so zil slow + veigar walls + zil double Q gives you a guarnteed stun

Schooking Skel-CentrixPVP That's not what they meant by diversity, the deversity we're talking about is making other adc and support viable, in season 7 the only viable supports were shielding/healing support, but not tanks/damage supports, as for adc the ones played were very limited, primarly xayah, vayne, twitch and tristana, instead of making the rest of the supports and adc shine, they brought the bruisers and the mages in the botlane.
As an adc main learning about the adc nerfs was depressing now i only play the game about once a week cause my favorite role is just not worth it

I never play adc but i can say that keeping so diversity botlane is some nice bullshit. Adc is a role so specific and it brings mechanics and stuff. I don't know why riot and so hard to delete adc. Non adc botlane should just stay as viable but not as meta

nope cause midlane was always a flex role were u could pick a mage or an assassin even some bruisers, some adc can complete the role of "mage" like jhin or varus or lucian, thats why sion mid wasnt that bad, just boring to play against but it has his place mid. Adc was always aa based champ, they just somehox created kai'sa and pyke showing their mind about botlane. These 2 champs arent bad but just show riot's mind. at some point morde was meta bot, it was too strong but i felt like its just boring to play against so wathever, its only 1 pick non adc, only few picks like 1 or 2 bot could be nice if they keep adc able to beat them, and if these picks stay as sion mid has been. Sion used banner of cammand so he was not used as a dmg dealer mid, non adc botlane should be the same

because "skill" shots are able to be thrown every 8 seconds, thus eliminating all skill because eventually one of your shots hit, and that's enough to kill/prep kill.
Not as painful as playing Zed and getting stunned by mages and picked off by adc

Y'all probably forgotten that triple marksman was a thing, Lucian was classified as a mid laner, and bot lane was once revolved around Ardent Censor and an ADC that works with it.

Lex Rupus most wanted it gutted, but not to this point, if I where a Dev at Riot in the balance team, all I'd do is make the old Infinity Edge give 15% bonus crit damage instead of 25%, not this crap they made.
Riot jt has an interesting definition of "gut", they completely over killed. it's using a hydrogen bomb to blow up a house, completely unnecessary .
It use to give 50 not 25 :l That's why it was so fucking strong.
It gave 50% bonus crit damage, btw they could just have made the item give 25% bonus crit damage as true damage and it would have been fine. Another change I was thinking was about removing crit completely and leave it as an occasional mechanic for items like stormrazor, and instead add an stat called attack force, so if an item gave you 30% bonus crit chance, attack force will instead grant you 30% bonus damage to your basic attacks.
In the other hand Stormrazor is kinda crappy in terms of damage since it scales with crit chance and attack speed and not with level. Still, it is good in some champs, like Quinn, GP, and Jhin
Daniel Coronado and Rengar. Guaranteed crit after a jump is brutal on him.
As a support main I'm sad because I was a P3 support pre this patch admittedly probably shouldn't be this high with how little I've played, but not only does this change ad's but we are getting really strange matchups now it's hard to know what to do as support in solo queue now as all matchups are so odd. It's also reiterating how broken some champions are vlad and irelia

Whilst in the long term if left unchanged this will kill ADCs, at the minute I’m finding them even stronger since everyone is trying to move to the new meta and hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet. I played a game with two ADCs yesterday which went to late game 25-30 mins and in the end we stomped them.
Are mages still viable ? Or are they also being replaced by assasins or bruisers ?

Correction: crit scaling adcs are out...poke based adcs or those who don't rely much on a three item power spike are still viable...Draven, jhin, miss fortune, ezreal, Kaisa, lucian, are a few...although you will have to almost always play "protect the token adc" minigame and build your line up to support the adc... Otherwise its better and much cost effective to play champs that can provide much to the table in the first 5-10 minutes of the game rather than banking on one guy to do all the damaging...

Learn to play better or learn to play differently? I like the way that marksmen play, and have liked the playstyle for 5+ years. Mele champs and mages aren't fun for me, and most other ADC mains.
As a spectator, LoL is still pretty fun, but as a player I can't have any.

I see a glimpse of hope that one day in the near future I can play whatever champion I want in whichever position I want, however I want. I think that unwritten rule of the meta, that certain champions *should* be played only in certain positions/matchups was a cancer.

They also overbuffed assassins in an attempt to make an non-teamplay-oriented class more viable for competitive play. What happens now is that they run rampant in lower divisions with win rates never seen before. Why would anyone take the risk playing a class that is hardcountered by assassins when the reward is so low?
I don't think simpy buffing ADCs will solve the problem, because the whole dynamics of the game have been changed. It would just make some champions OP and require further changes.
You know this game is turning into trash when even Rekkless and others Major ADC pro are getting benched

It makes me really sad that my favorite role is being pushed out of the meta. Games just aren’t all that fun anymore when you can only play like 2 actual ads bot lane.
I lost168 LP because this patch,because I am an adc main,,I understand that people want to try new cham combo bot lane,but the point is in this patch with such meta,No crit adcs and adcs without mobility are getting slaughtered at bot lane once the other team have a tank and cc fighter combo bot lane,so I must say that riot destroyed my favorite role,and they seem to not want to fix this problem( adc don’t stand a chance when the enemy have like hemi fid,yas ali combo,and since they nerfed a lot of sheilding sup,adc usually die when a team fight starts)

Back in s5 my friend explain the bot meta for me poke, farm and kill lanes......so i always thought it didnt matter what you picked as long as it fit in 1 of the 3
Anecdotal notes:
I played a couple of games Ashe bot in this "new meta" and it felt like my lane was innately superior to their heavy kill lanes so I think maybe metas should not be accepted the same on all levels of play.

Honestly I like this meta. It's gotten rid of the old, stale formula that we've been playing with for years and added variety to the bot lane.
but what if you play an adc as a support for objective pushing? i mean sivir has utility, miss fortune has huge AOE, magic damage (somewhat) and a slow, same for ashe, ezreal has an escape and wave clear varus has a stun etc etc. to get consistant assists and increasing your overall armor penetration and raw damage might make them really good if you think about it. if you acctually can stall out a bit they might even get highest damage numbers.
imagine a garen with a sivir support botlane, they would just wreck the enemy with wave clear and garen's Q into sivir ult might be strong as hell!

I don't know why you think you, with the ability to play only one role, should ever have been consistently the most important player on the team. Holy shit this is so sad to watch! I use to live for league of legends and I was a ADC main in Plat. I stopped playing though in the middle of the spring split. I tuned in for the opening week for summer split and I was so confused on why they weren’t picking adc’s. I thought they were trolling! This video helped me so much to understand because I really don’t care enough anymore to do research lol. Wow I cannot believe that Riot really killed off Adc’s like this. Like why!?!? It’s not like they were OP and could Solo carry a game! Nerfing adc’s base stats when they were already dog shit in the early game to begin with like wtf?!?! What is the reason for that!! Yeah this meta is disgusting for us adc mains... also adc was never really op since season 2. Most people still don't realize that it were the never ending support buffs that made support op and they just amplify the adc strength in later stages of the game

Czar Macarse adc’s had the cheapest 6 item build of any role in the game. Yet they scaled harder and were safer to play than any other role. Thats why they did this. Any role that has the cheapest 6 item build in the game, should not be the strongest role in the early, mid, and late game. Thats just ridiculous when you think about it. That is exactly why riot made these changes. Adc’s were way too strong early, mid, and late. But they should be strong late cuz thats their identity. They should just be weak early and mid game to compensate for it. Which they weren’t, which again is why riot made these changes.

I really like that Riot dared to go this step, and that the meta massively changed. Pro play is a real event now, not being restricted to the same 1/10 of the champion pool being OP/viable and 1-3 broken permaban/autowin champs for half a year.

I play support too and enjoy it, but ive never played League as little as I have in the past few weeks, and that goes for all my friends too. Killing my favourite role annoys me, while i agree ADCs were strong for a while, and having alternate roles played bot is an interesting idea, I knew as soon as riot proposed the idea months ago that theyd fuck it up and the meta would completely crash on ADCs. It's just so hard to balance. if a mage can be played bot, then to be strong enough to fight into that mage early an adc would have to be able to be strong enough to lane solo mid, and if an adc could lane solo mid, and scaled better than a mage, why would you take a mage? It was always gonna go one of two ways, and I think if riot tries to rectify it now, this other way will probably occur where adcs become strong enough to solo/mages get nerfed and its all assassins and ADCs. I honestly think its gonna take a good while for the game to stabilise in a decent healtyish spot now, thanks to this clusterfuck of a patch.

James Parkin Marksmen were not shoved into the ground because people dislike them. They were a must pick for 6 seasons. 75% of the games history you had to have one. No other class has been as present in the game. As an example, let us say thatsome character has a very high pickrate, and an unusually high wr, essentially becoming a must pick. They should, under most people opinion, be needed to allow some other characters to be used. That is Marksmen right now. They were overpowered and needed to be brought back in line with the other characters.
What I don't like about the changes is the fact that they outright deleted something like 20-30 characters from the game, which I think doesn't promote diversity in a way. Sure, now for the first time since the game release we have a different botlane meta but if you have to get it by making 30 champs out of 140 trash then it's not really healthy for the game (imo)

They are balanced now but ardent supports when it was still strong was one of the most cancer things in League to date.
When someone says that assassins are OP you can tell someone is boosted. A support shouldn't be able to shield someone for half someones hp bar while also having multiple forms of peel, heals or buffs. Ardent censor made shielding/healing supports do what they already did but WAY better. Which is why it was nerfed. If it wasn't so broken and unhealthy why was EVERYONE complaining about it. The only people who liked it were the people who already played those type of "ardent" supports. And even some of those people disliked it. It made play making supports like thresh pretty irrelevant. The only play making support who was good at the time was Rakan, and the only reason he was considered good was because he could use ardent well unlike the other play making supports. To sum it up Ardent made healing/shielding supports broken. Now they've fallen outta meta for better early supports and playmakers.

Idk about you guys but down in low plat I regularly stomp on non adc botlanes with Morgana. Most bruisers rely on a single form of cc which you can just shield and because you have a ranged adc, any q you land will either send the enemy back to base or result in a kill.

I like the changes. When you think about it every position has different viable champion types in its meta except bot lane before these changes. ADCs were just too good not to pick in a duo lane and we're overly relevant for the entire game.
These changes finally tried to fix these issues and might be a bit too much, but it's a step in the right direction and I very much prefer a messed up bot lane meta state over a "better bot lane wins" meta.

This just completely pushed the Marksman class out of the map albeit a select few. They can’t go anywhere else due to their inherent early weakness and their reliance on a support (which made them favorable in a duo lane in the first place)
ADCS in other lanes were Niche picks, Bot Lane was the true lane that made them viable
Now there’s just no where else to go due to the pacing of the game.

I’m a Xayah main and I’m completely heartbroken when the adc item rework happened because her early rush item was ER which had Crit, Dmg, and cdr. But now they completely ruined it and made it into a “mana” adc item...Now I cant play with my friend who mains rakan Bc Xayah can’t do shit early game and her feathers scale off of crit.

I'm an adc main that mains tristana and thought is right on some points. It is a bit harder to adc with a whole bunch of mages bit lane but that depends on how good your supp is. If they can't help out at all then of course you lose the lane. But if you are a terrible adc who can't back up your supports stubs and roots then that also makes the point null. I find theorem changes kinda good. I can get 60% crit chance at 17 min if I do well. That sounds kinda fun to me.

Think about this. Toplane. GP vs Rumble for example. GP usually pokes you out and trys to denny farm. Either you answer back with any kind of damage OR YOU PLAY IN YOUR BUSH and only go out for CSing. If they play overagressice early lvls pray for ur mid and jgl to come bot and kill her 2 or 3 times and she is useless so you get to snowball the lane
Rumble Main Here's the thing, an ADC loses the laning phase to anyone thats not an adc, and most roles can destroy towers almost as effectively. And then there's the fact that now the ADC's need a lot more cs just to become slightly decent, but its kind of hard to cs if the enemy is playing a burst or poke mage that can punish you with extreme prejudice for standing just a bit too close when trying to farm.

Rumble Main Simple, Brand and Zyra support usually had to temporarily stifle their scaling for the support role. Also their mana wasn't as good as it is now, so they had to use their abilities kind of sparingly. There's also the fact that ADC's are weaker than ever before.
I'm pretty happy that all the salty kid ADCs will ragequit League and the ones that get around that will be pretty great players to play with. The game was just not fun with ADCs ruling the game, Ardent bs meta amplified that to a ridiculous meme degree but it was a bit like that since Season 2. This is an opportunity to rework champions like Caitlyn and actually make them fun to play, not rightclicking robots. I'm glad Riot went for that change

I go press the attack with tristiana and i did pretty well and mf is still good as well, and jhin because they dont go crit items early game they go assasin items like youmu and drakhtar. And if you start with dorans shield you can survive in the lane much longer in the early game. Plus adc's still have a big effect on team fights
Forget whether or not a marksman in adc is good or not, it’s actual hell to play right now. Most champs that are played have the ability to just one hit the adc (especially if they snowball). It feels so bad to play the role since you are reliant on several items to even think about doing damage, and champions like renekton or irelia just walk through your team and 1hit you after buying one item(which btw is cheaper than the items you need)
