Hello viewers! Just so we are on the same page, I’m keeping my 2023 and looking to add a 2nd gen to the stable. For the record, Its not because of fear of the recall. While hunting for all of these 2nd gens lately to film because of demand, i’ve come up with some great content ideas for a 14-21. Its nothing more than that. If something happens to my 23, I want you to see every step of what I go through. So thats the plan! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for clearing that up😂. I bought my 24 1794 because of this channel...lol jk. Honestly, if you did sell your 3rd gen it would have been a bummer. We must move forward with the 3rd gen. We'll keep the 2nd gen in our hearts.
I’m keeping the 2nd Gen in my garage😂. Bought a ‘21 low mileage wind chill pearl Platinum on Friday. 38 gal tank - Texas to northeastern Ok on half a tank😊 absolutely love the range, power, and build quality of this truck!!
We are screwed with gen 3 tundra tundradude34. Been wanting to trade my 2020 1794 for gen 3 trd pro but after following all UA-cam videos and personally driving the new pro, decided not to touch gen 3 with a 10 foot pole. I’ll crank out 200 k miles on my trusted 2020 1794 before considering a gen 3. Toyota will have to work hard to regain everyone’s trust
I have a 12 TRD I bought new. Has 27k. Zero problems . It pulls my boat and goes on hunting trips. I ordered this truck with the smaller V8 4.6 and couldn't be happier with it. The 6 speed trans was built for the 4.6 and it pulls great up through the gears . 310 HP is all I need and gets 17-20 mpg unloaded. Probably my last full size truck ,I'm 64 and it will probably outlast me.🤗
I just got a 2021 Sr5 TSS double cab a couple weeks ago. Has 84k miles and was not used as a truck. It is in great shape. I owned a crewmax 10 years ago but this time I opted for the longer bed, the double cab is plenty of room for adults.
I do like pulling into my local Toyota dealer with my 2021 TRD OR Crewmax and watching all the salesman scurry around thinking I'll be trading for a new model. But no, I'm just there to pick up an oil filter or something else minor. With this 2021 and my previous 2010 neither has been in for any repair work ever. I really love the dependability of the previous generation.😊
Yea it does make more sense to have old and new. Excellent decision. That way you can keep up updated about what’s going on with the new gen and also the things you can still do with the reliable 2nd gen.
Good morning, Mark. Im going to hold onto my 07 5.7 Tundra. The jury is still out on the new Tundras. I'll wait and see if Toyota listens to the loyalist and puts a V8 back in the Tundra.
And after watching the video, i love the 21 cement. Beautiful color. And my personal preference is the full front seat and shifter on the column. Its reminiscent of a bygone era. And everything you would do to it would make it one of a kind
Hi sir I have 2019 tundra double cab I put fog lamps on factory pre wired wire but it doesn’t come on do I need new steering wheel switch so it come on with headlight can you let me know
Huh. Here in Canada we didn’t get the Limited double cab after 2019. In order to get leather in a double cab we have to find the rare TRD Sport Premium trucks for 2020/2021 or a TRD Pro.
Hi Mark, Maybe i missed it along the line but I've been curious..... How much do you miss your 2017 Supercharged 5.7 if at all? If both were available today would your choice be Supercharged 5.7 or turbo v6?
I have a 2018 SR5 Cement DC with the premium package…parking sensors, rear color keyed bumpers, etc. I did the blackout overlays, the TRD Pro LED headlights and the Chrome Stoppers front bumper caps, grill surround and hood bulge in cement and will hang onto this truck until the wheels fall off….or trade it on a 4th Gen because imo Toyota royally screwed up with the 3rd generation….sorry Mark. I’ve owned 9 Tundras since 2001 and for the first time I have not wanted to,trade up to the latest model.
Lol, who knows. Every time im being the wheel of the 23, i marvel at how comfortable the ride is, regardless of city or highway. Even on my long ride home today, its just impressive
Hey What are these turned in leases How about certified used . They usually have an outstanding warranty. I see the used one going for almost new pricing with only 3 months warranty. The dealerships seeing the big issue on new ones taking advantage on older ones. Nice tutorial on this very humid day
What in gods name is Toyota fascination and obsession with those stupid predator steps. Not to mention the only way in hell I would ever buy a tundra is one without that gawdy chrome grill
Oh man,, if money wasn’t an issue,, definitely the cement tundra with the longer bed! But realistically, for half the price I think you should get the blue one.
If you’re asking if i would want to purchase one, not for this project i have in mind. Needs to be SR5 level. The pro is already where it needs to be as far as modifications.
hey man, you know what you should do you should have some of your subscribers that I looked into sell their vehicle contact you and you make a video on their vehicle if they want to sell it and you get a cut out of it
My 2017's rear bumper is paint matched grey with chrome front....once I replaced the chrome grill with the TRD Pro grill and blacked out chrome badges except the 5.7 iForce on the doors I like the small splash of chrome on front bumper ends and badges on front doors which is the only chrome left....but when it had the chrome grill and the front of the hood it was just too much chrome for me...
Mark, I have been following you for quite some time🫡. I cannot help to notice that every UA-camr out there is getting rid of their 3rd Gen with the excuse of “creating more content” I am happy that you on the other hand are planning to keep your 3rd Gen.
Good day! I’m not sure of the reasoning with the other UA-camrs because I don’t watch them, but for me, it was just an idea. I guess my timing sucked 🤣 TRD Jon is the exception. I’ve known him for a while. Good guy.
2010-2013 has the much better Grille surround then the 07-09..and would be the “Affordable” choice…”I don’t have the money” -Tundra Dude. The 2014-21’s $$$$$$.
@@TundraDude34 Dude, Your logic makes no sense, (complaining, I don’t have the money) but still choose the much more expensive 2014-21 over the identical power train of the much more affordable 2007-13’s.. and still decide to keep the depreciating 3rd Generation..
@spinfish1434 the 23 is a lease, so im solid there. My value is still holding and if it hits the fan, i still walk away after the lease term. Im not sure if you know this but the 07-13 is my favorite time period of Tundra. But for what i have planned, it has to be 14-21. A little higher miles wont matter to keep it as cost effective as possible. Trust in me Spinster, trust in me.
I’d buy that 2013 in a heartbeat. I can’t find anything like that out here on the west coast.🥲 24 grand with 81,000 miles I was really wanting a 1794 but for that price I’d settle.
As long as you buy a 21 or older Tundra you are good. 22 and newer is a POS and I'm a long time Toyota truck owner going back to 1979. You want to add an older Tundra in case your 23's engine blows up like thousands of others.

Love the 2nd gen. I have a 2020 SR5 SX (blacked out no chrome). Love it. 94,000k. So far. No issues
I would love a 2021 Army Green Limited crew cab.
The Limited DC is a winner. I have a 2018 DC, and the 6.5' bed is way more useful than a 5' bed.
Yea it does make more sense to have old and new. Excellent decision. That way you can keep up updated about what’s going on with the new gen and also the things you can still do with the reliable 2nd gen.
I LOVE my double cab 2nd gen. Single guy no kids so it's so nice to have the bigger bed for sleeping in and hauling stuff around.
The 2013 looks great!
The blue 2013 Gen2 SR5 4X4 Crewmax
The same exact tundra I have lol amd I found an oem 38 gallon tank and installed it
I hope a 5.7 v8 in the refresh
Mark, I like your plan of KEEPING the 3rd gen and adding a 5.7 2nd gen. Excellent decision 👍
This dude wants to take every toyota home. I’m a 5.7 tundra and I love it.
Well, i did start a Tundra channel 8 years ago because of my love of Tundras 😁

Great decision Mark, and hreat for content.I will be watching as always good for brother.👍👍👍👍
Alot of ppl talk about how well the new gen drives but driving my 21 double cab i love the truck driving feel.
I always felt the 20/21 Tundras drove great.
And after watching the video, i love the 21 cement. Beautiful color. And my personal preference is the full front seat and shifter on the column. Its reminiscent of a bygone era. And everything you would do to it would make it one of a kind
Just think, premium exterior with old school interior. Im a fan of that column shifter
Best thing on these 2021 tundra you don’t need any extended warranty lol 😊
Rebirth of the 2nd gen👍

Seems everyone with a UA-cam channel is ditching the third generation!
I’m keeping my 3rd gen. I really just want a 2nd gen to mod on it. The 2.5 gen is perfect for that
I like the 2021 with bench seat.
What in gods name is Toyota fascination and obsession with those stupid predator steps. Not to mention the only way in hell I would ever buy a tundra is one without that gawdy chrome grill
What was the mileage on the limited 2021 if you remember?
18,419 miles

@@TundraDude34 How much was the 2021 double cab limited again?
@jaytay7989 i think it was 46

Double cab limited (not many)!! I would lower it with 22s!!🤩
Get the 2nd gen yes
Too bad Toyota deleted the external transmission cooler on the 2019-2021. Just bought a 2018 because of that. The new ones have engine issues…not good

If you're gonna grab breakfast on your way home hit The Oaks on 611. Small family place. Dealership is 5 minutes from me.

Wouldn't go near a new tundra they are a disaster
