Using Powdered Fats with Keto Chow - What does and doesn't work and what to consider

Lately, we've seen a lot of questions about using powdered fat (powdered heavy cream, powdered butter, powdered cream cheese, and powdered MCT) in Keto Chow and we wanted to go over some of the things about powdered fats that you should consider before buying some. Powdered fats can absolutely be a great solution to some struggles that people encounter, BUT the convenience of powdered fats comes with some "gotchas."

Unfortunately, our area didn't have any cream as it was sold out for weeks. I now have the powdered heavy cream just in case this happens again.

I recently bought powdered butter to use in my PSMF bread but glad I saw this video from you. I might consider not using it as the fat in Keto Chow.

When going off the grid next month for a week I’ll be in a desert area where it will likely be cool overnight. I’m hoping to use Keto Chow and a powdered fat for at least one meal a day. Refrigeration won’t be possible most of the time. Any suggestions on timing between mixing and consuming?

We would recommend waiting at least 30 minutes after mixing to consume. That will give all of the vitamins and minerals a chance to dissolve and incorporate into the shake. It should be ok without refrigeration for that length of time.

I bought powdered butter to use in recipes on bbbe. I have some leftover so if I want to use in my shakes do I have to mix with hot/warm water like I do regular butter?

Our research shows that powdered cream and powdered butter would be preferable. Again, it all depends on how it's dried and powdered.

Couldn’t follow all the jumping around, the charts , the grams ( all in ounces would’ve been better ) after trying hard to follow the calories, carbs, for each product this was useless .
I think 1 comprehensive , well done chart would have been very helpful !
