I found these on sale in my local ASDA last year for 50p each, so for a bit of fun I bought the last 3 x remaining kits, one for each of the cars in our household. There's plenty of space in the tin and pack for lots more, so for each I added the following: -
A Stanley blade, small saw blade (both taped on the edge), Bic lighter, old plastic card wrapped in Duck Tape and insulation tape, mini scissors, a tiny magnifying glass, matches, a little double-ended magnetic (out of my kid's old Geomag set), some lint infused with Vaseline as a firestarter (sealed), half a mini glue stick, needle and thread kit (25p), a pin, a tiny mirror tile (off an old lamp). At the end of the pack, there's space (side on) for a tin of 'Complimints', which I've packed with paracetamol, plasters, gauze, strips of medical tape. Added into the pack, also are hand sanitiser (useful for medical and firestarting), a pack of medical gloves (sealed), wipes, batteries, mini torch, and two energy bars and theres still room - you just need to get creative. As I say, it was just a bit of fun, but having something is 100% better than having nothing. The nice bright red pack easily fits into a trouser cargo pocket, too. 👍

I got a BCB survival tin in a tobacco tin in the 90s. water purifying tabs, plastic bag to carry water, safety pins, needle & thread with a few buttons, fishing hooks and line, button compass, snaring wire, heliograph for signalling, first aid dressings/plasters, wire saw and that has a fire steel, but its scraper was just a cut off end of a hacksaw blade tied on via its hole to the fs… then you’ve got a small saw to cut metal plus an effective spark scraper.
This was/still is an SAS inspired item that SAS vet, Lofty Wiseman wrote about in his survival (R.I.P.) book. An old large tobacco tin (gives a bit more room but still pocket sized) and you can make your own up as well to your preference.

For the fire shield I'd use green wood and bend it in half and stick both ends in the deck, then you save string and don't get it burning or melting. Just a bit of unsolicited advice there haha

I haven't tried it but it should work, it reflects, but being effectively metal or having the same properties as metal, it also conducts, so you won't get any benefit from lying on top of one. They're actually designed to be loosely wrapped around the body to reflect heat, again if pulled so tight that it's touching the body you will actually lose body heat via conductivity.
