I am planning to travel to Israel by January or February with 2 parents. Your videos are really helpful, Oren. Thank you very much.
small correction: the train takes 25 minutes to get to Jerusalem then you have to take the escalators up for two more years until you reach street level
Hahaha, so true!
Palestinian Christians, Orthodox Jews, Hasidic Jews, Haredi Jews, liv Tahor Jews and Neturei Karta Jews are ALL United against Zionism, Zionist Jews and against the synagogue of satan state called israhellll ..

The remnants of the Gaz chambers of Auschwitz and others are ashkenazi Zionist Jews from the MOST IMPOVERISHED countries in the world, from poland and ukraine ..
They've brainwashed Jews to become Zionists and to have a nation ..
Yet, in the Torah, the book of the jews, they're forbidden to establish a nation.
Thus, Zionism is PURE hoax and devilish nonsense ..

Train is great (and cheap!!) We used it from the airport to Jerusalem (and then the light rail 4 stops to our hotel), up to Haifa to see friends, and back to the airport! If you're going to Israel, get a Rav-Kav card to use public transportation all over.
When I travelled from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem a few weeks ago, I went by train. It was excellent
im.going to jerusalem jan 16..how much the cost from airport to jerusalem?
Thank you oren , last time i took those shared taxi it was an exciting ride.... never knew ford transit diesel vans can reach those speeds.
So pleased with the TLV to Jerusalem rail link. We went from TLV to Jerusalem, go off the train, used the tram towards jaffa gate and walked up to the apartment. We also signed up to Rav-Kav so we could pay our bus, train & tram fare using the mobile 'app' to top up! well done israel - this is superb
That’s exactly what we did! So useful!
Great info. I just got back from Israel. We rode the buses and trains a lot. One person in our small group had a bit of more understanding in how to get around Israel.
Oren...you're the best at what you do, bro.
Extremely clear and great insight. Thanks for the video will be really helpful when flying into Tel Aviv!
Thank you very much. I will be taking the train back to the airport from Jerusalem. I have your app and your books and have watched many of your videos. I have learned a lot and it has made planning my trip so much easier. So appreciated.
פשוט כיף לצפות אפילו שהמידע לא רלוונטי לי בכלל :) אתה מדריך לישראל ולישראליות (U) שיעור אנטרופולוגי
Thank you very much for the info, I really appreciate your help! I will be making my way to Israel in 3 days and can't wait for the trip that I have been wishing for years!
Awesome info !! Thank you Oren...
I'd also recommend checking that you dont arrive on a religious holiday. Which is what I did. There was no public transport and the taxi drivers outside Tel Aviv airport wanted to charge me 450 shekel. Luckily I got talking to a guy from Jerusalem who managed to negotiate with a taxi driver on my behalf and I got to share a taxi with 4 other people and ended up only paying 75 shekel each. So make sure your trip does not coincide with a religious holiday. Also when transport is running, the 405 bus will take you from Tel aviv airport to Jerusalem and vice versa. It runs 24 hours a day and costs 12 shekel. You need a Rav kav card to ride this bus. You can buy a card at a bus station or in a shop and top it up.
Can you just pay in cash or with a credit card at the driver in the 405 bus?
@@uvejspreza9879 unfortunately not(i checked this out). You gotta buy a card(which I paid 15 shekel for). The bus takes about 40 minutes to travel between tel aviv and Jerusalem. There's a bus stop about 200m away from the Central bus station in Jerusalem (405 bus is written on the bis stop).
@@eoinMB3949 So I have to get a card first..and I guess the card is useful for a ride Jerusalem-Tel aviv and Tel aviv-airport. Thanks mate. Btw are you Irish? Your name sounds Irish
@@uvejspreza9879 yeah you gotta get the card. You can use this on all public transport though, so it's very handy. Yeah I'm Irish, i just came back from a trip to Jerusalem where I made every mistake possible!
Nice video! Very well explained, in addition i loved the tips. Downloaded Move it and will check Post Hostel.
Thank you 😅😅😅
I visited a couple weeks ago and am glad to have purchased your online guide for visitors. Thanks Oren.
Oren is so smart and so very helpful.
OMG your guides are amazing thank you so much for this much appreciated.
Thanks Oren for one more very informative video....The ending of the video was quite entertaining.😀
Thank you, you make everything so easy!
Thanks Oren ✡ good information, as usual 😉👍
Thank you for this, super helpful as always!
One thing: though Yitzhak Navon station is one of the deepest train stations outside of the ex-USSR, the Badaling Great Wall station in Beijing is 22 meters deeper. And if you'd count metro stations, Pyongyang's are on average 20-30 meters deeper.
I took a shared ride called "Share Root" Cheap, safe, and fun. The most important advantage was it dropped me right at my hotel which is priceless when you are jetlagged. In Jerusalem I took busses, above ground subway, and walked. Everything is well organized and locals will point you in the right direction. English is widely spoken.
Booked already ( post hostel) on 17-11. Your video's are usefull and informative. thank you
I agree about the rooftop restaurant in Jerusalem!
Thank you Oren for the information. I remember when I last flew into Tel Aviv I was scammed by an illegal driver the minute I arrived. I didn’t know about the “official taxi” stand at the time. I wish I had seen your video before traveling!
Great information, i wish I had watched this before going to Israel last year, I will watch these videos before going in Jan
Educational as always.
Very helpful information.
When we were there at the airport we were having a hard time finding the bus we wanted and were getting really frustrated. Turns out we were on the wrong level! After we figured it out we remembered you saying that in one of your videos but in the hurry to get somewhere we forgot! In the app we were using it looked like we were where we were supposed to be but we were directly above or below it.
Thank God, The Sherut is my best choice on Friday afternoon, Thank you.
Thank u so much Oren for this video
You are so right about being ripped off by taxi drivers. We got ripped off by taxi driver in Israel many years ago. He told us one fare at the airport and when we arrived at the destination he charged us more. I never forget that!
Remember the weekend called shabbat starts friday evening depending upon when 3 stars can be seen. Early in winter! Ends sat evening.
True. I had a hard time finding a place to eat during Shabbat!
Travel on the bus is a great way to start seeing the city because it is slower! If you have the time, I always prefer it no matter where I am.
Thank you for this informative video. How much easier it is now to get to Jerusalem then when I lived there. And your tips on where to stay want me to hop on a plane and go. Now if I could convince my wife...!
Bummed that our trip to Israel for Feb had to be cancelled due to flight challenges. Just got to be a huge hassle. We will try for the third time later on next. year. Until then will have to absorb all the info I can from these great videos.
That’s a bummer… it’s worth visiting. Don’t give up!
It has been many years. The Nesher service was very reliable and convenient.
I've had the same experience, except the one time when the driver waited for almost an hour, to fill the last seat, as it was beginning to snow, and we were worried we wouldn't be able to get to Jerusalem. Finally some official made the driver go. Good thing too, because an hour later, there was a foot and half of snow, and nobody was getting in or out of Jerusalem.
I’ve used a taxi, train and sherut. Unless it’s shabbos i always use the train, it’s cheap, fast and efficient. On Shabbos , I’ve used the sherut, it’s a lot slower but it’ll get you there. Cab was $100 to Jerusalem, but took way longer then the train.
Heading to Jerusalem? Great! Get my Jerusalem app with all my Jerusalem tours, recommendations, and tips. Sale! Now $29 rather than $39! www.travelingisrael.com/store/
Can you buy multiple train tickets with one phone/app? Traveling soon with family of four. Same question regarding light rail.
yes
@@Travelingisraelinfo hi oren, I hope you can help but I need transport to Jerusalem since will be arriving on a Saturday morning, traveling alone and will be my first time there please
Thank you for your information!!
Please do a video on how to pay for gas with a rental car. We had such trouble doing this. There is only one gas station at the airport that let us use non Israeli Visa card. Everywhere else was cash only. We found your videos so helpful on our trip!
It would have been helpful to have said what the cost of the train fare is from Ben Gurion to Jerusalem central station. I paid 18 shekels three weeks ago. As for the sherut taxis, maybe three years ago I was lucky. I arrived at Ben Gurion during Shabbat, and of course there was no public transport. It used a sherut and it was absolutely fine. The driver was very safe, and I was dropped off at the door of my hotel. Three years ago I paid 70 shekels which I thought very fair, especially for the convenience of arriving at my hotel.
I will also arrive on Shabbat and I plannig to take a sherut, my question is where can I exchange money to pay the sherut?
Can yo please make a video about everything we need to know about Eilat, I mean transportation from Tel aviv, accommodation, places to dive or snorkeling, thanks
I cant believe I am heading there soon 😇❤
Awesome 👍, will take your services the day I land in Israel
I use the train to tel aviv from Jerusalem 3 times a week, it is reliable and fast. Note: if you came late at night sometimes the train is stopping at modi'in stop which is not part of Jerusalem, be aware.
Thank you for the valuable information. One day I will visit Israel 🙏🙏🙏
Beer and dessert over wine and cheese… can’t argue with that!👍🏼
SHALOM OREN,, THE TAXI MUST HAVE A METER , LIKE YOU SAID OR A GETT,,.. WHY THE TRAINS AND BUSES DONT RUN FRI. AFTERNOON THREW SAT. NIGHT . IS BECAUSE OF JEWISH SHABBAT TO UPDATE ,, INFO.. GREAT VIDEO... KEN,, YES!! ,, THE POST HOSTEL,, IS GREAT LIKE YOU SAID IT IS ON THE LIGHT TRAIN ON JAFFA ST. TODA!! ISRAEL WE LOVE VISITORS...

Thankyou Brother
Thanks for this Oren. Excellent as always. Looking forward to using your App.
I'm arriving in a week and this is a big help. Question? I'm traveling extensively for 2 weeks by rail and bus. Should I purchase a monthly Rav-Kav. Can I get it at TLV. Thanks.
Yes, but why not use one of the apps?
Great video! Useful information. But...I'm getting jealous of Wisconsin...
Thanks for help :) i hope that its still actual
OKAY OREN …. I watched the other video and I knew that about the train stations 😁
I hope someday to visit, but not anytime soon 😢 YALLA BYE 👋💚💚💚SHALOM
I wish I could be there. Shalom from Canada.
Maybe it would be a good idea to explain how to pay for the Sherut and private taxi.
You forgot to mention that "navon" is the only station in Jerusalem...... It will take about 25 min to arrive, and another 10-15 to get out because the way up is horrible!!!
I would recommend you to contact your hotel to see if they have a taxi driver they trust, before finding a taxi at the airport...
Gracias
util información
Toda raba for your excellent explination. I am working in the travel industry as well and have been a few times to Israel, but i don't know if there is local transport from TLV to Tiberias (Teverya) on the evening of 16. September 2023. I googled already and found different information. As far as i know the 16. and 17. September is Rosh Hashana. For this reason i am confused which transportation is available. We booked already a hostel in Tiberias, but will it be possible to get public transport (train + bus) from TLV to Tiberias on the evenong of 16. September this year? In advance i like to thanl you very much (toda raba) for your advice !!! May the God of Israel (the only real God) bless you abundantly !
Taxi drivers in the taxi rank also refuse to use the meter. Take the train or bus.
Thanks
Hello can you share information about renting a car in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem for a two day drive to and around Sea of Galilee? Thank you
Thanks!
Thank you!
I've arrived on Yom Kippur at 12.30. And The last Train was on 12:58 . And i didnt get my Trani to Jerusalem, So i had to take the sharut taxi, and have paid 30€.
Does the green and blue El Al busses still run from the Tachana Merkazit on the Derech Haifa and Alosoroff Street to Lod Airport??
Hi! I have some questions.
1. The bus have storage for luggage?
2. Are the luggage allowed inside the train?
3. We are departing Saturday from Tel Aviv to Ben Gurion. So TAXI's are the only option?
I travel this week I wish I watch this video before
What time do the trains from the airport to Jerusalem stop running on a Saturday night. Our flight doesn’t get in until 9 pm
Is there a Nesher Sherut from Ben Gurion to Haifa or just Jerusalem?
Toda Mr.
Nesher taxi seems to be my only option since I'm arriving in the middle of the night 😂😂
Hi, We are 2 adults travelling to our dream destination Jerusalem. Thanks to this video I realize that there is no public transport on Satuday. We arrive at TAviv airport on Saturday noon. How do I get to Jerusalem on a budget? Shared taxi as there is no trains at noon Saturday. Thank you for the wonderful videos.
The Shared taxi
Hello! If I have understood correctly, if you use the moovit app on the train you have to scan the generated code twice (one time at the beginning of the journey and another time at the end of it), and when you get on the light train you just have to validate the code one time. Is that right? Thanks!
Also taxis to jerusalem , the train all to jewish side. Some taxis wont take you to western arab side. You have to ask. And if doing train to jerysalem need to know how to public transportation to arab side.
can you take a train direclty to terminal one? i was use wizz air so its mean terminal 1
Hello! how to go to Tiberias from TLV airport? Thank you!
I have a flight on Saturday at 9:00 am from Tel Aviv is there any cheap option? :(
its funny we were charged 40 euros for a taxi from prague airport to the city (theres only buses) thats 160 nis for a journey exactly the same time it takes from Natbag to Jerusalem when you are told that charging 200 nis is a scam?! when gas here is far more expensive? if you want comfort and no bus or train is available, 200-250 nis (50-60 euro) for a taxi to jerusalem with traffic jams is what you can expect to pay and its not a scam. thats the prices in europe as well.
Thank you - so useful! Does bus #485 still run/exist from the airport to Jerusalem ? Is there a timetable somewhere please?
Yes. Moovit or buses.co.il
Thank you!
As an Israeli every time I am amazed how top notch is the Israeli railway system this day - it arrives to all the coastel cities including the Gaza border Sderot and netivot from Ber Sheva till Haifa and even Acko and Naharia which is the northest city in Israel. As an Israeliu the moment i have a Chance i will travel to every station, yes it ain't a bullet train that they should make to Eilat but to notch system
if i go israel 3 day 2 night what you recomended? stay in tel avi 2 night ot 1 night in jerusalem and one night in tel aviz?
We did this today 🙂
how much is the train ticket going to Jerusalem from the airport? How much pocket money would you recommend just to keep for transportation going to Jerusalem? Thank you
sign up to Rav-Kav travel card & top-up via the 'app'. less hassle than carrying cash. just tap-in when you board the bus. Does Tel-Aviv still provide free buses on Shabbat? they did when we were visiting in May/June.
our hilarious experience: landed at 2355, then arrived at the car hire desk about 50 mins later, it was closed because of covid. we were suppoed to walk out to the car park opposite the terminal ( bearing in mind our israeli friend was there to meet us. we had to go to the other terminal to collect the car, so our friend put us on the inter terminal bus, we arruved and everything was closed LOL. and the bus had just driven away. so i managed to catch a taxi driver that was dropping people off, he didnt speak english but his passengers did and even insisted they make sure our accommodation was genuine and phoned my friend to make sure he was meeting us. the taxi trip was something from a horror movie, driver on the phone talking, watching videos on a tablet , waze on another device and watsapp on another! and it was 300 shekels from the airport to yad eliyahu. but we survived lol and went on to have the most amazing holiday.
I will be traveling to Jerusalem with 2 people over 75 and one 67 and 12 years kid. I got Moveit app and saw that pay parents over 75 can travel free ? But they still need to buy ticket or enough to have passport with them ? Thank you.
Tourists without a local SIM can't use the transport app to pay for the journey from the airport.
Look at it from a tourist's perspective: SIM cards are cheaper in town than at the airport, enabling data roaming will cost a daily fee for the whole holiday. It's best not to have a data connection during the journey from the airport so using an app that depends on a data connection is out of the question.
You are right. I will mention it in the next video
Can you take luggage in the train? (the documented ones)
Hello, is Terminal 1 closed during the night?
Do trains work on Saturday?
I experienced rip off taxis in the arrival hall in Eastern Europe. They're mafia operations. I'll make a note to arrive on a weekday.
Hi Oren I would like to know how to get to Bethlehem from Jerusalem?
I recommend using the train to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, or any other city served by the rails. I always found it easy to get around Israel, but I have been there several times.
I will be visiting in a month, but will be doing less walking and using the local buses more. So I have a question. When I arrive, how do I buy a bus card? Where do I get one?
Also, is the train stop at the zoo permanently closed? Thanks.
@@deborahfreedman333 I am low tech, so I will go with the rav-kav card. This is good for any city in the country, right? I can use it in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa? Can it also be used on the Jerusalem light rail?
Thanks!
@@MFPhoto1 I use it all over the country - just make sure you have enough money stored on it.
@@marjoriemendelson6166 How much per trip?
@@MFPhoto1 It depends on how far you go. I'm retired so I pay half price and can't give you exact figures. I pay for a monthly pass using my Rav Kav app in Jerusalem and then add on a few hundred shekels for travel outside the city. Maybe Oren could suggest a good place to find how much travel between cities costs.
@@marjoriemendelson6166 Between cities I have no problem. I will take the train to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa, and the Egged bus to and from Tiberias.
I have visited Israel several times, but within cities I only walked or used a taxi. My legs are not what they used to be, so within cities I thought I would try the bus.
where can ı buy rav kav and how much?
You are a nice guy. Hope to meet you one day. Shalom
i can't travel to jerusalem because of my passport , how to bypass that?
It would be so cool if all the popular travel Israeli youtubers like Oron, thesalukie, Corey from the ask projecy and Nas Daily all got to together to do a video.
Do we carry our luggage with us on the train or is there a storage place for luggage onboard? I am visiting Israel in June and would love to try the train.
That seems to be the topic no one ever discusses. All the videos showing how great it is to ride the train are done by people with no luggage or just a backpack.
@@reefhound9902 I returned last month from Israel and can confirm that there is a cabin that has space for luggage. I cannot remember if I was sitting in the first or the last cabin, but there is definitely one with space for large suitcases.
