    • @demencha-1
      @demencha-1 2 роки тому +182

      @@RayhanFUT it’s in a different count. The sample is not in the standard 4/4, meaning 4 beats in one bar. So it’s difficult to make a beat in 4/4 using a sample in 3/4. You have to get creative to link it up or chop it up to fit nicely.

    • @AzzWalk
      @AzzWalk 5 років тому +22

      I doubt he actually produces the songs. Most rapper-producers often use ghost writers to actually produce the song. If he was really so good why is he more famous as a rapper than a producer? His first few albums were great because of his rapping and lyrics not for the music. MBDTF had some good songs but the production credits list Mike Dean and Jeff Bhasker as producers alongside Kanye so really I think it's those two who made the beats. Kanye is known for rapping because he is good at it, production behind-the-scenes is just name-sake. They put his name on the credits because he wanted to be there.

      Tbh not really. It's chopped. Once the sample is chopped, depending how small, it doesn't have its own time signature. Some parts will follow the 3/4 timing cause they're a longer bit, but that's why with those parts, the bit ends early, cause he's containing it to 4/4.

'IT' wasn't "being a bitch" as he said, it's his just his lack of skill or knowledge at that moment. Reminds me of me when I started using midi devices in the '80's! Jesus Christ, what a douche. That’s Kanye West. Say whatever you want about his rapping career, but the mans a goddamn legend when it comes to production. Go complain about how good producers have it nowadays not having to splice analog tape together at the local guitar center “pro audio” section you give people a hard time inside of. Guess what also changed? Everyone and their brother is an aspiring producer now. Yeah. So it’s a hell of a lot more competition and almost impossible to actually get the shot at doing this for a living. I won't say the old "go make it yourself", you won't be able to make something descent, even less groundbreaking. So show some respect for what you don't know. It'd only make you a better person.

      I'm not saying he's a genius, nor this is the pinnacle of sampling or tool usage... what's wrong with you people? Kanye is a tool, a moron, not a genius at all, I just commented on how sampling is expanding possibilities and how sometimes it's a very misunderstood way of making music. Do I like it? yes. Do I like this video? Yes I do. Do you have a problem with that? Tough shit. Sorry.
      Please read properly and also read what you reply so at least it makes sense.
      (Btw, I might have some understanding on sampling tools since I've been using them since quite a while ;))

      as fucked up as it is I've observed that mentally ill people on average make better music, or atleast people with different brain chemistry. for example, kanye's bipolar disorder results in his switchy music that does not always remain consistent. Rappers like X have ADHD which results in him using several different voices in the same song (proudcatowner)

      @@us6437 Type in VerySickBeats J Dilla Techniques I can't really explain it but that video helps to break it down I was going to say just chop in different places of the sample and make sure your snare/clap timing is on time with the 4/4 time sig better yet if you create a drum pattern first and then chop the sample it might be easier come up with a simple drum groove and add more to it later once you get your chops right but yeah the video I recommended is very helpful

    Who else produces starts a hip hop song intro in 3/4? Lots of respect for Kanye's old and new stuff for pushing the envelope.

      Branden Wilson the intro very clearly is in 3/4 time. When the beat drops it is in 4/4 like almost all hip hop songs.

      ***** I'm not sure why you said that, find me another producer who has done such 3/4 intros. I can only think of dilla.
      As for pushing the envelope, graduation, late registration, Yeezus , etc were all unique sounding when they were released, whether or not you like all them is a different story.

      +HPM Royale 6/8, not 3/4

    • @franmaga28
      @franmaga28 5 років тому

      Well the original sample is at that time (and is in 6/8 not 3/4 and its not the same time signature). But he didnt do a hiphop song in 6/8, the original sample is like that. I get you but you missed the point, what he did is turn that into a 4/4 hiphop beat, and it is cool. You can hear that in J Dilla’s “Dont cry”.
