His utilization of samples amazes me and I absolutely adore him as a Multi-Dimensional Artist i mean i love this fuckin dudes beats and they are always truly silky and legendary real talk. @@us6437 Type in VerySickBeats J Dilla Techniques I can't really explain it but that video helps to break it down I was going to say just chop in different places of the sample and make sure your snare/clap timing is on time with the 4/4 time sig better yet if you create a drum pattern first and then chop the sample it might be easier come up with a simple drum groove and add more to it later once you get your chops right but yeah the video I recommended is very helpful
***** I'm not sure why you said that, find me another producer who has done such 3/4 intros. I can only think of dilla. As for pushing the envelope, graduation, late registration, Yeezus , etc were all unique sounding when they were released, whether or not you like all them is a different story.
Well the original sample is at that time (and is in 6/8 not 3/4 and its not the same time signature). But he didnt do a hiphop song in 6/8, the original sample is like that. The skinny, cheerful Kanye Omari West the world fell in love with it. Sad how times changed; his mom died, he interrupted Taylor Swift and shit just kept happening. But still, hes my favourite musician and MBDTF is one of the best albums.
Great comment
Shreyas Iyer He is not a musician..
Aaron Pederson Get the fuck outta here you dumb rock fan.
Shreyas Iyer Lol are you five? He is not a musician and you are a dumbass.
Aaron Pederson He makes music, he is a musician. Open up a dictionary you edgy preteen moron.
this video is older than graduation. damn
You can tell simply off the drums he used in the video. Kanye's drums changed sometime after late registration
yea it was around 2004
2:12 how is there such fire all of a sudden
" anyone can sample " but your shit still ain't as good. He choose the specific sample and all that and put it over a beat. Him dancing just show how happy n proud he is , and remember this was when sampling like that was in . Shit yall so judgmental
JamMix3R sampling is very hard o do as well. Actually takes a lot of skill to do it well
he should've kept the beat for himself
Dont disrespect chi town.
NggArmani no man the beat got wasted srry
It seems like only 1.91% of the listeners agreed with you. They killed it in the end, sick af.
fadfssad i agree with you I wish I could find the instrumental
NggArmani he's saying that the beat should've been used by him instead of some bum ass gangsta group called Do or Die
Come back every few years to watch
Too many care about how a track is made.. when you hear a song on the radio that's slamming you don't say "oh he did that on fl studio or with a drum machine. Dude is talented. Just because he uses a machine or program to achieve a sound doesn't negate the fact... I purchased fl studio11 and they don't have a "talent" edition!!!!
ebusseyrchmi agreed. I wanna see those people try use FLS, even making a simple beat proves difficult from time to time and programming isnt as easy as it sounds.
I feel like the older generation sees someone make something like this with technology and negates the creativity or talent it actually takes to make this, my dad for one think all new music is bogus because it’s made with computers, some of it is, but this shit right here isn’t a computer doing all the work
@@BrettfordBolts tell your dad how many people want to produce now, and how that makes it a lot harder to get noticed nowadays, for the talent you may have gets forever lost in the vast ocean of producers. Everything comes with a pro and a con. Everything.
I’ve been watching this video for 11 years and each time my dream is a little more manifested
this video is inspirational
Every few weeks I come watch this for motivation
I remember as a kid I was about 11 or 12 I would record kanyes music videos on a blank VHS Cassette! The struggle was real! Still a huge fan more then ever! He's truly talented
Bianca Tristan Holy shit. I thought I was the only person in the world who did that. Let alone with Kanye. Let alone being a little white girl in middle school hahaha.

It would be dope if his next album is called "The Reunion", which would be based off College Dropout on how he returned back to the school that had he dropped out at and etc.
bruh we can only hope

he graduated
He should do that 2017 cause graduation came out 2007
or his last album could be "The Industry Dropout"

This is what it looks like when you are happy with your job.
Kayne was legit here, College Dropout, Late Registration and My beautiful dark twisted fantasy had this type of music.
Kanye is a genius, I’ve watched this video a good 20 times and I still have no idea how he did that 😂😂
j4s2v1 okay boomer
@j4s2v1 you're definitely a boomer old man coming and hating on kanye foh
Really not that hard, he looped a part of the sample and played it over a beat
Ok all y'all bitching about how samples are easy why don't you go and make a platinum album then we can tslk
j4s2v1 Bach ain’t got hits like Kanye tho
It is unreal seeing "Look out for Kanye's NEW album Graduation in August '07" in 2024. So cool tho seeing an amazing album like Graduation having its creation documented.

who is still watching this in 2019!!
His utilization of samples amazes me and I absolutely adore him as a Multi-Dimensional Artist i mean i love this fuckin dudes beats and they are always truly silky and legendary real talk. Sampling seems easy but when you take a different time signature and chop it around to make it that time sig i can say from experience that shit takes like days for a lil dude like me.
but he did 5 beats for 3 summers…
Someone needs to show Kanye this video and make him realise that these productions are so much better than his newer ones
So glad I've had a chance to see him live 2 times third time will be for the second Saint Pablo show. The first show was epic! Been a fan since I was 11 now I'm 25 & still a huge fan!

@@us6437 add a bit on the end of the sample so the first three beats match up with the first three out the four then add one more on

This fire beat has been stuck in my head lol
Who else produces starts a hip hop song intro in 3/4? Lots of respect for Kanye's old and new stuff for pushing the envelope.
Paul Johnston def sounds like 4/4
Branden Wilson the intro very clearly is in 3/4 time. When the beat drops it is in 4/4 like almost all hip hop songs.
***** I'm not sure why you said that, find me another producer who has done such 3/4 intros. I can only think of dilla.
As for pushing the envelope, graduation, late registration, Yeezus , etc were all unique sounding when they were released, whether or not you like all them is a different story.
+HPM Royale 6/8, not 3/4
Well the original sample is at that time (and is in 6/8 not 3/4 and its not the same time signature). But he didnt do a hiphop song in 6/8, the original sample is like that. I get you but you missed the point, what he did is turn that into a 4/4 hiphop beat, and it is cool. You can hear that in J Dilla’s “Dont cry”.
