Scott for me is one of the top 3 GOATs. I don’t think people realize bro had hit after hit for a whileeeee in the 2000s. He was everywhereeeee.
Top 3,stop smoking crack...Dr.Dre,DJ Premier,Timbaland,Neptunes,Just Blaze,Swizz Beats,Daz...Scott Storch was corny as fuck. That's why his sound is outdated.
For SURE top 3, might even be number 1 shiii
It's Scott Storch and Mike Dean in the top 2 for me. I was always a big fan of certain producers, I just wish I'd have learned back then what production was cause I didn't learn it was accessible to me till like 2012 and you KNOW it was there way before that, too! I just had no idea what I was looking at, I remember in the early 00's I saw a laptop with fruity loops on it and I just assumed it was a drum machine. Imagine my surprise when I learned you can make entire compositions on programs like that :P
Yeah bro his melodies ruled the early 2000s and late 90s
Yep same here. One thing about Scott is he grew up listening to Metallica and other metal and rock. That gives you a hand up writing beats for hip hop.
I love seeing scott storch replay his melodies. Shit is insane. Scott's versatility and his ear is unmatched
fr
one of da best
But he didnt replay on this one just talked n did some strings, ive seen way better then is.
The sheer volume of iconic tracks he created in that time period is staggering
Bro owned the 2000’s
No doubt!..
The great
Legend. I've never seen anyone playing the piano the way he does, he has a unique style
Oriental music scale
Yeah he normally has a joint in his mouth 😂
@@labatikaHe is playing in the Phrygian scale, it has a more Arabic/ME flavour than Far Eastern. People like Storch and Timbaland were definitely leaning into these scales a lot in early 2000s, Phrygian, double harmonic major, Locrian (that flat 2 is a distinct part of the sound).
@@thert.hon.thelordnicholson7261phrygian & harmonic are my fav scales, gives ethnic & dark sound
You never seen Liberace??
Some people might say Fat Joe fucked up by passing on the track. But the thing is, if Joe wasn't feeling it, it wasn't gonna come out good. If you're a writer you know when a beat hits you it hits you, and sometimes it doesn't. We should be thanking Joe for having the humility to pass and then 50 came in and now it's iconic.
Funny how 50 dissed fat Joe when Joe helped make the beat lol
Exactly.
A hot beat don’t automatically translate in a hot song.
You can put any Rapper on In Da Club beat and none of them gonna come out as good as 50 cent did.
@@DizzyMakavellitrue, D12 had the In
Da Club beat and passed it on thankfully for 50.. Big Pun originally had the Black Rob Whoa beat and passed it on
Doesn't Lean Back sound a bit like Candy Shop?
Candy shop and lean back are almost identical...
Worked with Scott Storch twice (two days back to back) and he was cool af. Took all his jewelry off and was like "this is just a costume" and then got to work lol.

@@asapbrook6257 aight Asap... lol
Stop capping. I dont even know who u are
@@winnmaw96 Ok winnmaw...lol
No need to lie to kick it bro
This man made so many legendary beats
Had a chance to meet him in person, and no one knew who he was. Very nice person. Love his producing and making those beats.
For those who don't know, this man made a lot of people's favorite beats of the time. Timbaland may have outsold but Scott Storch was a real taster's choice.
Definitely, he should be a household name!
well, beats wise timabaland was better, melodies wise scott storch is better
@matt "better" with opinions isn't an option. Do you tell people their favorite flavors too...? My point was Timbaland outsold and was more popular but, to people who make music, they saw Scott as the producer's producer. He brought a refinement to hip hop beats that changed the landscape forever.
@@goofballbiscuits3647 Dre brought a refinement to hip hop beats by bringing scott storch to the studio
@matt you just can't handle being wrong lol contrarians gonna contrary
Lean Back is one of the greatest beats of all time. Of course Still Dre too. Honorable mention to Cry Me A River. Beyonce Me Myself and I. Storch wasnt just crazy unique on the keys but his drum programming. Lean Back had a groove I’ve never heard before
That's what I felt about Candy shop. Crazy original beat.
FACTZ
Cry me a river was produced by Timbaland.
Edit
Wow I didn’t know storch did the keys 😅😅
His drum programming?.. He usually only creates the melodies, from the videos I've seen.
The grooves usually just support his melodies.
RESPECT! In MY opinion, Scott Storch is the BEST hiphop producer, period! This man influenced an entire decade (2000 to 2010) with 95% original beats! Respect to Dre & Diddy but those guys sampled the Hell out of 70s Funk. Scott has all original keys, all original. That's Genius level work right there! I mean this man did the keys for Still Dre...try and listen to that song WITHOUT the keys and it is totally dead...Scott's keys give it Life, and Dre took Most of the credit...Scott deserves waaaaaay more recognition! I stan this producer big time!
We agree!!
Definitely one of them
Justin Timberlake - Cry me a river --> Scott Storch did the keys to that song!
So true. My favorite producer
the most under rated producer ever. ur producer's producer.
Storch not a just beatmaker, he is a great musician.
The top-hit catchy beats are made by this guy .. his talented ability to mix Arabic melodies with RNB was awesome.
All the beats to your favorite club hits in the mid 2000s were made by him, don't let that go over your head.
Baby Boy (Beyonce & Sean Paul) still in my all-time playlist... has that Scott Storch oriental vibe written all over it. 🙌🔥🙌🔥
I'm from Jamaica and I've listened to a lot of dancehall music. Storch really nailed the dancehall sound with his unique style. Sean Paul rode the riddim perfectly. Overall classic.
Certified quality
Scott and Tim ran the late 90s and early 2000s! Love them for pioneering sounds in their own way!
You are forgetting the goat Pharrell
And Kanye Production Discography is crazy during those times as well
Brooo when he started to play the Candy Shop beat I got goosebumps 👑👑👑 Scott is a legend
Man that was such a magical time period! 😭💎
You gotta be a real creative musical genius to have a ear to come up with beats like this
Scott Storch is one of my favourite producers. I remember listening to songs when I was younger & always loved the instrumental, years & years later I found out that Scott Storch made them!
With this being the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, big up to Scott Storch for helping create and produce some of the most iconic tracks in Hip-Hop history. Respect.
Kind of a cap that a genre is music has an anniversary.
Love you Scott, as a producer I’m inspired by your ethic and creativity 💪
Lads that string line... unbelievable! Love his use of the pitch.
Wish you all the best Scott. You make great art!
Extra fire interview, Scott Storch is a true legend 👍🏾🔥🔥🔥💯✅
One love to the greatest of all time! Thank you brotha. Your a great inspiration my friend. God bless you on your sobriety and making it all the way back. Stay blessed and at peace. Thanks again for all the great beats and songs. Peace from the LBC!
Thanks for all the dope beats and hard work! One love from the LBC. Legendary Scott Storch. California love. Peace
Hands down the greatest commercial hiphop producer of all time. Storch doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves.
Most 2000s hits were his beats. Absolutely mind-blowing.
This guy touching the keyboard gives me chill
50 laughing all the way to the bank
Joe………
Joe would have made a different track so it doesn't really matter
Thank you Storch, I love Candyshop and Lean Back till this day.. 👊🏾♥️
Scott Storch is a legend.
An SSL in your house is the ultimate flex.
Bruh all major producers have an SSL
Scott always been one of my favourite producers
🫡
The only reason this man put a legitimately concerning chunk of South America in his respiratory system is because he created the beat for *every single* banger of the mid 00's
he put some middle eastern notes in there too (showcased in this video), this mans ear for sounds around the world is insane. his style is unmatched
@@spicysauce4739 r/whoosh
@@mikelewicki1557 Hard, however their point stands tho, Scott's ear and the sauce that resulted from it were crazy as hell
He's now genetically closer to a coca plant than a human
👃 🍬
Fire vid🔥🔥🔥
A musical genius. I went to Fordham University (in the Bronx) in the fall of 2004 and you couldn’t go anywhere without hearing Lean Back. His music is iconic. What a gifted man.
More love needs to be shown on the work he did for "Poppin' Them Thangs". Man thats a jam too
G Unit: Beg For Mercy album
One of dopest songwriter/producers of many eras of our time. His compositions are original and progressive. One of the best in the game to compose original music at its core. And that right there is how you keep the majority of your writing money and publishing money. 💰💰💰
Scott Storch is a fucking legend.
He is a legend. I honestly haven't seen better.
I think the most important thing to take away from this is how long it took to make some of his greatest tracks. 30 minutes to greatness!
Precise Exotica...Scott Storch is hands down the best real time keyboard beat making hip hop producer.
What's NEXT , can't wait !!!
Candy shop & just a little bitl the reason why I became a music producer today. Thank you, Goat.
💎💎💎
Scott is simply undeniable
4 minutes of Scott Storch are more valuable than 4 years of music degree.
lol bruh didn't even talk about music? lol what drugs are you on with this comment lol. Didn't even say what fucking scale it is.
What an incredibly stupid take.
We agree!! Imagine what you can learn from his Masterclass over 1 hour www.aulart.com/masterclass/scott-storch-becoming-a-hitmaker/
@@Aulart i was with ss in a studio enviroment and hes the goat but an asshole no ty.
💯👊🏼
Criminally underated!!!! The GOAT of that era.
The beat was so intoxicating and banged at the club!
Scott was behind every big hit for a long time. He truly dominated the music scene behind all the biggest artists. #legend
Keeping it simple and not over producing is the key 🔑
Exactly. Over-producing just creates a lot of noise like in today’s music.
I remember that ssl, it was in the cutting room studios in NY. We had 2 songs mixed on that console and that was my introduction to analog vs. Digital. I'll never forget it...ever.
Could you explain the difference
That "under 30 minutes" thing is insane. Shows when you're at a certain cailber it doesn't take much to know when a song is finished as he said to not "overproduce" it
Love it!
The master!
I love scott storch. Love from state of CT
What a legend! Thanks for this video!
As a producer i used to feel terrible when someone passes on my beat but i just figured that what doesnt make sense to u might be gold to someone else
I don't consider myself a producer a creator but my best tracks are the ones that come out spontaneous and quick. Great vid
Scott be storchin em up 🔥
I remember going over to this house in the mid 80’s. His brother and I were in a band. First time I met Scott, he said “hey listen to melody I wrote on my keyboard.” Always creating on the keys…
Scott is a master of the Pocket. Wish he would get on metafy lolz ~ I love watching a deadmaus vid where he has a billion gadgets and cant find any pockets and Scott always just has a simple set of ivories and just bangs it out like hes Little Richard.
He’s the reason why I fell in love with Beyoncé dangerously in love me myself n I naughty girl n baby boy are my top 5 favorite Beyoncé songs n he produced all of em n he did Mario let me love you his catalog is just so 2000s!!!
THE GOAT , THE MUSIC INDUSTRY WOULDNT HAVE BEEN THE SAME WITHOUT THIS GIFTED PRODUCER .
It's funny how most people don't even know who this guy is, he didn't get the credit he deserves
The unsung hero of the 90s and 00s.
I love how even tho he may not love the song or lyrics he still has no problem saying its one of his best (like I like the song but its just not really made for me or him) just the way he can detach his work from theirs and say its his best is cool! I wld agree too! That song is so catchy too, he kinda got lucky w Fatt Joe cause that intro part is what sets it off too!
The Real GOAT
Legend!
I would be honored to just sit in the room and watch a genius work.
real talent
Thats wild. The guy he was beefing with made a hit out of the beat he didnt want. Wild
This dude is a GOAT!!! Love him!!!
This dude is genius I love all his productions
Bought my first Akai MPC Key 61! Amazing Keyboard/Workstation. Akai did a great job. Looking forward to future products:)
Scott Storch is DAT NINJA PERIOD ! He's done more music for THE BIGGEST STARS out there than people really realize !!!!!!!!
The music world needs a Scott Storch comeback.
Big time ! music is ass these days
U had alot .. you still a legend in My eyes
He opened a rehab centre, in an interview about that he was smoking joints.
Scott has had some massive highs and terrible lows, but no disputing his talent. He's been at the forefront of so many tracks we love, good to see him (shades as usual)
terribly lows, why is that?
@@hellobiafra Probably refering to him destroying his career with drugs ? Dude was easily top 3 producers (with Dre and Timbo) during his era (00's) and chose cocaine.
Genius on the keys and genius with the simplicity. First time ive seen him without a blunt in his hand though.
I love Scott Storch 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Fat Joe passed on Candy Shop, but took Lean back which has such similar vibes
Legend
i felt Scott storch when he in gta online said something like "you've probably listened to my records your whole life" he has made some serious hits and i love his beats
He was right!
He's right. Some of the sickest beats tend to just come when not even really trying.
He is beast!
People really fail to comprehend just how much Scott changed the game
Scot is one of the greatest! 🎉
Your Telling this guys responsible for all these Hard Tracks? Your a Genius Scott.
Love storch ! THE GOAT !

The beat he made for the Gucci Mane song Bingo was fire as well, but his ear for sounds are very good well. Salute to him. 🫡
