A lot of wisdom in this clip! You have to respect the way he's giving Teyana lessons on arranging tracks without being pushy about it - he's putting his knowledge out there, and you can take it or leave it. Also inspiring to see how much "wrong" stuff he does in order to keep the process moving (i.e., banging on the table for percussion). People who record themselves can get caught up in setting their gear up properly, trying to get the mic placement and levels perfect, etc., and it can sap momentum and creativity.
Facts. He is really good at just capturing the raw moment. Everything else can be arrange and tighten later. But you don’t get that many chances to capture that initial moment.

He is already a legend. Has arguably changed the music industry three times with the college dropout, 808’s and MBDTF. Watching Jeen-Yuhs is so enlightening. It was wonderful getting to see part of Kanye's origin story. All he had was his talent and his belief in himself to make it in an industry at the time that said his music didn't have an audience. As a new artist and producer in the underground scene, I love seeing other creatives work. Its always eyeopening to see how the greats channel themselves into their music. Its incredibly motivating for me to work harder than I ever have if I want to make this dream a reality. But at the same turn of the coin, I am content with the fact that music may only ever be a passionate hobby for me. I’ve seen countless examples of artists who lose their love for the music bc it becomes a job to them. There are many (like Ye) who have found a good balance and happy medium. Whichever way it pans out for me, I just want to make sure the passion never fades away ❤️

We're watching a historical figure in real-time... We've had plenty I guess, but I bet Kanye's time here will be viewed a WHOLE lot differently in future years to come.
No one can argue the money changed him or made him cocky. He's always thought of himself as a God of a man, even when he was a relative nobody. People just hate that he's right and has always been. Kanye is not a regular man, and is incredibly gifted. I just hope he doesn't fully lose control. He does a lot of self-effacing, contradictory stuff that destroys his image while simultaneously he creates wonders.
Personally i believe they did something to him. After he called out the industry they took him away to a hospital for “mental health.” He hasn’t been the same since. Once you turn on the industry, your contracts void.
Y'all gotta realize, there are thousands of hours of footages.. the series only gave Y'all a few hours of those. So there are plenty of more interesting behind the scenes footages.
I’ve always been a fan but I gained a lot more understanding and respect for Kanye after watching the documentary. Props to the film makers as well for having the intuition to know that he was gonna blow up.
Nowadays, people overuse the word "genius." Kanye truly is a genius, a person who is EXCEPTIONALLY creative. Like Prince, Ye is an artist who can't simply be confined to a studio booth.
And people try tear him down saying his music aint good and hes no genius he just knows how to market shit.
Kanye is a Projector 1/3 and his design is to guide people! 🙏🏽🔥💚

It's such a great documentary even without this, and this is icing on the cake. Also, just today I had a long talk (more than an hour) with my son regarding the documentary. It's incredibly inspiring and we got to talk about stuff like... what's the difference between people who succeed, and who don't. We are already there. He’s going long past Quincy by the end. That’s how evolution works.
He is already a legend. Has arguably changed the music industry three times with the college dropout, 808’s and MBDTF. He has experimented multiple sounds and samples and has managed to make masterpieces and he has been dominating the charts, making hits and winning Grammys for his entire career. He already one of the greatest artists of all time IMO
@@pollito3436 I’d add Yeezus as another groundbreaking album and maybe Donda 2 (didn’t change the sound but i feel it’ll change album rollouts and the way streaming is done)
I fully agree, I literally said this to myself a few days ago. He is an innovator like Quincy Jones
Watching Jeen-Yuhs is so enlightening. It was wonderful getting to see part of Kanye's origin story. All he had was his talent and his belief in himself to make it in an industry at the time that said his music didn't have an audience. The same types that say "I am God" everyday in every facet of life, yet turn around and THANK God when the eyes of the world are watching.
When they win or get extreme praise for themselves its "Id like to thank God first and foremost". These same people lie in wait for bloodshed, prey on the weak and do not regard the widow or fatherless children among them.
