  • Implementing header tags SEO properly on your website can give you a big SEO boost. Let's optimize your header tags today: missoulaseogeek.com/
    In fact, Google and other search engines use the header tags on a web page to help determine what that page is about as well as what terms it should rank for in the organic search results.
    So, needless to say, having your header tags SEO dialed in will help you show Google and other search engines exactly what keywords your web pages should rank for.
    This will ultimately help boost your SEO and get your pages showing up higher and higher on the organic search results pages.
    It's common for people to use header tags to format the font sizes on their website pages but this isn't such a good idea once you realize how Google and other search engines use header tags to help determine rankings.

    A lot of blogs and forum recommend one H1 tag and as many H2 tags as we need to separate into "sections" our content. How would you respond to them? How is the use of H3 different from H2 and why is, on your opinion, better to use only one H2 Tag?

    • @MissoulaSEOGeek
      @MissoulaSEOGeek  2 роки тому +8

      Well, this formula is based in part on my experience and what I've found to work best in most cases is to use one H1 tag, one H2 tag, and have the rest of the titles on the page be H3 tags. At the end of the day though, there is no one size fits all solution when it comes to SEO. This formula is meant to be a guideline to get you close to being in alignment with what Google is looking to see on an authoritative website but I would also suggest testing some different setups. Maybe try using all H2 tags instead of H3 tags on a few pages or posts for a month or two and see how Google responds. If it doesn't go well, you can always change the H tags back.

    can I make something that isn't the title h1? so it ranks for the specific keyword? also is it a good idea to keep h1 or h2 to one word or can it be multiple? thanks

    • @MissoulaSEOGeek
      @MissoulaSEOGeek  3 роки тому +1

      I mean, technically you can make any text h1 or h2 but Google is pretty smart and doesn't like it when you try to manipulate the rankings. So, I would suggest sticking with making the titles of the pages on your site h1, h2 or h3.
      To answer your other question, you can use as many words as necessary in your h1, h2, and h3 tags. However, I would suggest keeping your h tags relatively short and to the point. You don't want to stuff a bunch of extra terms in there if you can help it.

      Yeah, you bet! I haven't used Elementor myself so I'm not 100% sure how they have things set up but I would imagine that you have the ability to change the size of an H3 font right on the page. • @MissoulaSEOGeek

      The easiest way to look at it in that case is to focus on getting the H1 and H2 correct and then just make the rest of the headings H3. By getting the first two headings in the right ballpark, the remaining titles should fall into place naturally. So, don't overthink it too much.

    Does it matter where the H1 title tag is placed on the homepage? Can I put it on the bottom of the home page?

    • @MissoulaSEOGeek
      @MissoulaSEOGeek  11 місяців тому

      Hi, thanks for your question! Technically, you can place the H1 title tag anywhere on your homepage, including at the bottom. However, for SEO purposes, it's generally recommended to have it at the top of the page. This is because search engines tend to give more weight to what comes first on a page. Moreover, users often expect to see the main title at the top, which aids in user experience. I hope this helps!

      Great question! So, recently Google has started considering the first bit of large text on a page as similar to the H1 tag meaning, the large text in your slider is going to tell Google what your web page is about. That being said, I would suggest making the main text in your slider an H1 and be sure it includes the main keyword you want to rank that page for.
